El Chapo -- the notorious drug lord once the subject of a worldwide manhunt -- is worried sick in his prison cell over -- READY FOR THIS?! -- his celebrity status ... NOT his criminal case.

Sources close to the kingpin -- yup, we've got those too -- tell TMZ ... Chapo, who is cooling his heels in Manhattan's Metropolitan Correctional Center, is constantly asking his lawyers how the media's portraying him. "He regularly asks his lawyers, 'What are they saying about me?' He's very concerned about his image," the source said.

Joaquin Guzman's got federal indictments against him in 6 states throughout the U.S. ... including New York and Cali. He was ultimately extradited to the US of A following the DEA's efforts to track him down via Sean Penn's cell phone.

He faces life in prison. We reached out to El Chapo's attorneys but they had no comment.

Better get the man a make-up artist for his next court date.

Two former high-ranking Penn State officials each pled guilty to child endangerment for their roles in the Jerry Sandusky scandal ... and now face serious prison time.

Ex-Athletic Director Tim Curley and ex-Vice President Gary Schultz were initially charged with felonies -- but struck a deal in which they agreed to plead guilty to a reduced misdemeanor charge.

The charge still carries a maximum of 5 years in prison -- a sentencing date has not been set.

As you may recall, former Penn State graduate assistant football coach Mike McQueary alerted PSU officials when he heard Sandusky sexually assaulting a young boy in the team showers.

Both Curley and Schultz -- along with ex-PSU President Graham Spanier -- were made aware of the allegation but did not go to police. Instead, they simply told Sandusky he couldn't bring boys to campus anymore.

Schultz and Curley were arrested in 2011. Spanier was arrested the following year.

Amazon sold an external iPhone charger to a customer who became a human torch ... according to a new lawsuit.

A Philadelphia man claims his fiancee bought him an EasyAcc external battery pack charger from Amazon.com, and after having it for about 9 months ... it blew up last year and caught fire in his pants pocket. Apparently there's security footage of the explosion.

The guy was using the charger as intended when it spontaneously ignited and exploded, causing severe injuries to his thigh and hand. He says he suffered burns, blisters, swelling and permanent scarring.

The man's suing Amazon and the charger company for more than $50k.

Hollywood hairdresser Danielle Priano was busted at the Buffalo Int'l Airport with several containers of illegal prescription drugs.

Priano -- known for working with stars like Mariah Carey and J Lo -- was detained February 12 while attempting to board a flight to NYC. We're told the Buffalo PD obtained a search warrant to check her duffel bag and purse ... and found nearly 400 Rx pills.

According to court docs ... the pills included Adderall, oxycodone, hydrocodone, Xanax and a Suboxone strip commonly used to treat addiction. Priano was charged with 4 counts of possession of a controlled substance. She pled not guilty to all 4 counts.

Priano recently appeared on "Mariah's World" as Carey's hairstylist.

Nic Cage's son is facing up to a year in jail for a wild car chase that ended with him smashing head-on into a tree.

The L.A. City Attorney is slapping Weston Cage with 3 charges ... DUI and two counts of hit and run ... all misdemeanors. According to law enforcement, Wes' blood alcohol was .15, almost double the legal limit.

As we previously reported, Wes allegedly got into a fender bender in February, but booked it before cops arrived. He lost control of his car while fleeing and took down mailboxes, a street sign and then hit the tree.

Michael Floyd is a free man ... kinda!

The New England Patriots WR was released from an Arizona jail early Saturday around 5 AM, where he's been locked up since February 16th for his extreme DUI conviction.

But he's not entirely a free man -- because now he begins the house arrest part his sentence ... a sentence that essentially requires him to remain in the confines of his home for the next 3 months.

As we previously reported, Floyd was arrested on Dec. 12th when cops found him passed out behind the wheel of his SUV with his engine running at a stop light in Scottsdale.

The Arizona Cardinals cut him immediately following the arrest ... he was picked up by the Patriots a short time later and ended up winning the Super Bowl.

Chris Brown is about to get an invite ... from some top cops who are fed up with him.

Law enforcement sources tell us the LAPD division that covers his San Fernando Valley neighborhood has had it with all the complaints and Chris constantly thumbing his nose at cops and civilians alike. There has been a laundry list of gripes against the singer ... noise, drugs, assaults, riding various vehicles recklessly, and on and on.

We're told police want to make a last-ditch effort to get Chris in line. The brass at the division will ask him to come to the station so they can lay out the problems and see if he'll see the light.

As for why police are doing this ... as one source said, "Chris is a chronic problem who takes up a tremendous amount of our resources."

Chris has no obligation to come to the station for a chitchat. We reached out to his lawyer to find out if Chris would be open ... so far, no word back.

Oakland Raiders star lineman Donald Penn says the best thing for Aldon Smith is to be around his teammates -- so they can serve as a support system for the guy as he battles substance abuse.

Penn says he truly believes his teammate is a "good guy" and wants the best for him -- despite the bizarre situation involving Smith and the police in San Francisco this week.

As we previously reported, Smith -- who's serving a suspension for a previous violation of the league's substance abuse policy -- was detained for public intoxication after a car he was a passenger in crashed into a cop car.

It's obvious Penn cares about Smith ... and believes the structure and camaraderie a pro team can provide will be best for the former All-Pro.

Kim Richards just got her sentence nearly doubled in her drunken Bev Hills rampage case, and she's actually happy about it.

Kim was ordered on Friday to do 450 hours of community service for her 2015 arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel. You'll recall she allegedly kicked an officer who responded when she got hammered and unruly in the famed Polo Lounge.

Kim was originally sentenced to 30 days hard labor but as we reported, she begged for a softer sentence due to a foot injury. The D.A.'s Office originally wasn't down to let her off the hook, but is now showing her some mercy.

Roman Polanski will come back to a California courtroom to face the judge over his fugitive status in his child rape case, but only if the judge says in advance that the director served his full time behind bars.

Polanski's lawyer, Harland Braun, has filed legal docs trying to cut through what has become a decades long legal mess. Braun says it's boiled down to a simple fact ... the sentencing judge required Polanski to serve less than 50 days, and between jail in the U.S. and house arrest in Switzerland, he's served nearly 400 days.

The sentencing judge, Braun says, reneged on a deal that was struck and threatened up to 50 years in prison, and that's why Polanski bailed in the case involving a 13-year-old.

Polanski, who was married to Manson Family murder victim Sharon Tate, has been on the run since 1978.

Taylor Swift's latest obsessed fan has been reaching out to her for years with some creepy social media posts that should have been a huge warning.

Mohammed Jaffar was arraigned this week for stalking -- but we uncovered tweets he posted at Taylor as far back as 2014. His posts seemed to get more brazen in February though. On the 7th, he tweeted ... a "security guard in your lobby today prevented us from sharing" candy.

This lines up with the D.A.'s docs which say Mohammed was caught on surveillance video Feb. 6 ... walking the hallway and roof of Taylor's building.

Jaffar also tweeted on February 12, "I need to meet you tonight" before sending a series of rambling poems on Valentine's Day. According to the D.A. ... he also harassed Taylor by phone more than 60 times between January 27 and February 16.

Drake can finally close the book on the $3 million tour bus heist that had him fuming -- the perp's been sentenced to county jail for a year.

The Maricopa County D.A. tells us Travion King will also be on 5 years supervised probation after his time in lockup. You'll recall Drake went BALLISTIC after finding out a briefcase full of jewelry was lifted from his tour bus during a September stop in Phoenix.

Travion was later busted for breaking into a woman's dorm room at Arizona State, and that's when cops found the briefcase.

Jackie Warner strongly believes her attorney and the Ambien defense will help her escape jail time in her arrest for nearly backing into a cop's patrol car.

Jackie and a friend were out at Gracias Madre Thursday night in West Hollywood, and on the way out the fitness guru talked about her dramatic arrest at gunpoint. As we first reported, sources close to Jackie say she was "sleep driving" when she got into an accident.

She allegedly reversed her car abruptly, forcing an L.A. County Sheriff's deputy to jump out of the way, and got arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

But Jackie's fully confident here she'll be acquitted. In fact, 2 weeks after the accident, she's feeling good enough to enjoy a margarita.

Good news for Dodgers fans ... manager Dave Roberts says there's no reason why the team shouldn't be right in the World Series race this season.

He showed up multiple times over the last few months, hanging out on the roof one night between 10 PM and 2 AM.

He rang her doorbell incessantly ... once for an hour straight.

Jarffar was arrested for stalking and burglary and he's being held on $20k bond.

Waka Flocka Flame is off the hook for packing heat at the Atlanta Airport ... he was just found not guilty.

Flame was busted in 2014 for having a handgun in his carry-on bag ... but claimed he accidentally grabbed his fiancee's bag at home and brought it to the airport in a mix-up.

A jury reportedly agreed it was an accident and only took 30 minutes to acquit the rapper ... as reported by Page Six. Good job attorney Drew Findling.

Still, he should probably double check his luggage every time he flies from now on.
