Kim Kardashian kind of undermined a pair of animal rights advocates Thursday night, when her people got them to buy her book and then threw them out before they could meet Kim and make a fuss.

The 2 women showed up at The Grove in L.A., where hundreds of people lined up for a John Hancock on Kim's new book, "Selfish."

The women made their case to our photog after they were booted, saying Kim has the power to be a positive influence by urging her fans to stop wearing fur manufactured by horrific methods of animal torture.

Kim has never really addressed animal cruelty in the fur industry, only saying, "I believe everyone has the choice of what they want. It's not illegal to buy fur."

Demi Moore got hit with some seriously high-priced bad news -- as in $200 GRAND's worth -- when her assistants discovered a bunch of her expensive clothing was missing from a storage unit.

The heist went down at Demi's storage unit in North Hollywood. Law enforcement sources tell us a member of her team swung by the place on Monday and noticed there was more wide open space than there should be.

The burglars were discriminating -- jacking only high-end, and in some cases, irreplaceable, clothing items. We're told Demi is putting together an itemized list of her losses.

Oddly, there was no sign of forced entry into the unit -- the lock was intact -- sources close to Demi say she thinks someone at the storage facility is behind the hit.

Nailing the burglars will be difficult. We're told Demi's people say no one's been to the storage unit in 6 months -- so the theft could've gone down as far back as last year ... and surveillance video at the place doesn't go back that far.

If Dwyane Wade looked like a million bucks at the Met Gala and the Met Gala after-party ... it's because that's roughly how much his outfits were worth at his big night out ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Our fashion sources close to Wade tell us the total value of the NBA star's two looks he rocked out last night added up to roughly $900,000.

The Kardashians and Sears are parting ways ... TMZ has learned, and sources connected with the family say they're bailing because they believe the department store is a sinking ship.

The Kardashians and Sears struck a big deal back in 2011 for the Kardashian Kollection, which features all sorts of apparel and jewelry.

By all accounts, the venture was successful. The best evidence we could find ... in 2013 the Kardashian fashion empire raked in $600 million and the family got a $30 million cut.

We've learned the deal ended earlier this year and the store has been selling off the remaining items, and recently the store has been pulling the items from the shelves.

Sears tells TMZ the parting of ways was mutual, but our Kardashian sources say the family felt Sears wasn't stable, having closed over 200 stores last year alone and suffering a $159 million loss in the last quarter of 2014.

Boxing champ Adrien Broner was handcuffed and detained by cops in Las Vegas Thursday night, but not arrested ... and his people say it's all because an "a**hole security guard" didn't like the way he was dressed.

People in Adrien's camp tell TMZ Sports ... the 3-time world champ and 7 members of his posse went to Tao nightclub in the Venetian and plunked down $11k for a table. They say the host took the money and let them in, so they took the escalator up to the club and then things went south.

They say a security guard stopped them and said they had to leave because they weren't dressed properly, claiming their jeans and shoes were a deal breaker. Adrien got pissed and said it was hip-hop night and Fabolous was performing, so they were not only dressed appropriately but others were wearing the same thing.

The guard wasn't moved and ordered them to leave. Adrien refused so the guard called the cops.

Police came, cuffed Adrien and took him to a room. His people say police held the boxer for 20 minutes, let him go and then Adrien and his crew left the hotel.

Check out the video ... you hear Adrien say, "They're mad 'cause I'm rich" ... something that seems to be a theme when Broner meets cops.

Broner was arrested in Ohio back in January for DUI. The boxer humblebragged to the arresting officer he was "blessed" because he made more than $100 million in his career. He pled not guilty and the case is pending.

So far no comment from Tao.

Police in Memphis did some serious "CSI" stuff to help recover Elton John's famous heart-shaped glasses ... and it worked ... they've been returned safe and sound.

The glasses were swiped last week from the Rock 'n' Soul Museum in Memphis, TN. Police took the incident so seriously, they lifted fingerprints off the glass case and managed to track the thief to Mississippi.

Police then called the guy on the phone ... and 26-year-old Matthew Colvin copped to taking them.

He was arrested for bringing stolen property into the state and for being a fugitive from justice.

Colvin is currently in custody and being held without bail.

Rob Gronkowski's new girlfriend just scored her first big modeling campaign -- landing a gig as the "brand ambassador" for a big watch company ... and she looks good.

As we previously reported, Gronk is all BF/GF with Camille Kostek ... a former New England Patriots cheerleader, news anchor and model.

Now, Kostek is the "fresh face" for the Benrus Watch Company -- which says it hired Kostek because "she represents all of our standards; beauty, intelligence, and a commitment to excellence."

Screw a pound of flesh ... Damon Dash wants $2.5 MILLION in revenge on his ex-wife Rachel Roy.

Dash is suing Rachel for a slew of corporate crimes related to Royale Etenia LLC and Topson Downs -- 2 fashion companies they started together. In the docs, obtained by TMZ ... Dash accuses Roy of breach of contract and interfering with cash distributions due to him.

In layman's terms ... he's not getting paid for the biz. In pimp terms ... bitch better have my money.

The famous sunglasses that became Elton John's signature in the '70s have been mysteriously stolen right out of a famous museum.

A pair of Elton's iconic heart-shaped shades -- which he frequently wore while performing songs like "Saturday Night's Alright," "Daniel," "Philadelphia Freedom," "Crocodile Rock," and "Tiny Dancer" went missing Tuesday from the Rock 'n' Soul Museum in Memphis.

Cops tell TMZ, the manager reported someone opened the locked case which housed the spectacles, but they have no idea how it happened. Museum honchos say someone had to use tools in order to jimmy the lock.

Surveillance cameras did not catch the thief. Cops are now on the hunt for a shady suspect.
