The NY Mets still suck ... and Tim Tebow can't even save them now -- 'cause the ex-NFLer broke his hand this weekend and is likely DONE FOR THE SEASON!!

ESPN reports the Mets minor leaguer broke the hamate bone in his non-throwing right hand while taking some hacks over the weekend and will have surgery on Tuesday to fix it.

It's too bad ... Tim was raking for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies this year -- even making the Eastern League All-Star Game earlier this month.

Josh Gordon will miss the start of Browns camp as he continues to receive treatment for issues that kept him out of the NFL entirely in 2015 and 2016 ... the wideout said in a statement Monday.

"Rest assured this too is a part of my overall health and treatment plan," Gordon says.

J.G. has been hit with several suspensions since he entered the league in 2012 ... almost all stemming from substance abuse policy violations -- and he's been in and out of rehab to try to make things right.

Gordon says there have been no steps backward ... but rather this is all part of the process toward getting better.

"With the help of the NFL, NFLPA, and the Browns' organization, I have been able to utilize the resources available to me that will ensure my well-being on and off the field," Gordon said.

"By continuing to follow the plan set up by our medical director and his team and taking this time before this season starts, we believe it will help me maintain the progress I've made for not only today but for many years to come."

Browns GM John Dorsey added, "We will continue to support Josh as he receives the care needed to maintain his progress."

"We are going to respect his privacy while he is away from the team. Josh will be placed on the non-football illness reserve list until he is ready to return."

Marco Rubio wants to watch the NFL on Sundays and not be reminded about politics ... but, right now, he says he's upset he can't -- telling TMZ Sports, "I wish sports were just about sports."

The league is embattled in national anthem policy issues (still) ... and, while the Florida Senator says he's all for players' rights to protest -- he wants it out of game days.

"Personally, I wish there was a place where we could go on Sundays in the Fall and kind of get away from politics for three hours," he says.

"That's how most people feel about it."

The debate is over ... 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo's very public date with porn star Kiara Mia is a tremendous move, financially speaking -- for her, anyway.

According to 2 leading porn sites -- Pornhub and xHamster -- Kiara's searches ass-tronomically spiked after TMZ Sports broke the news about her date with Garoppolo in Bev Hills.

PH tells us the already sought-after Latina adult star racked up 200,000 searches in just 24 hours -- a massive 2,309% increase over her daily average.

It's a similar story for Kiara on xHamster, which says searches for the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" porn spoof star more than doubled the day after her rendezvous with Jimmy.

The VP of the site tells us they're looking to cash in too with a new project for her called, "xHamster's in the Endzone with Kiara Mia." She hasn't accepted the offer yet.

NFL fans have been debating whether Jimmy will lose endorsement dough, but there's no question the QB's giving Kiara a major boost.

Jerry Rice is about to have one less record on his resume ... 'cause DeSean Jackson says one of the Hall of Famer's touchdown marks is TOAST this season!

The driver who crashed into Indianapolis Colts player Edwin Jackson in Feb. -- killing the linebacker -- has pled guilty in his DUI case ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The case became a HUGE deal when President Trump tweeted that it was "disgraceful" that Jackson was killed by a man who was in the United States illegally.

Now, we've learned the suspect, 37-year-old Manuel Orrego-Zavala, has pled guilty to 2 counts of "DUI that causes the death of another."

He faces up to 16 years in prison when he's sentenced in September.

As we previously reported, 26-year-old Jackson and his Uber driver were hit by a pickup truck while they were standing on the shoulder of a highway in Indiana.
