Jeremih Out of Hospital After Near-Death COVID Scare

Published | Updated

Jeremih has beat COVID!!! He's been released from the hospital and is at home recovering ... TMZ has learned.

Jeremih tells TMZ, "First and foremost, I would like to thank God and the incredible team of doctors and nurses at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for saving my life. I will be forever grateful."

The R&B singer goes on ... "I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their prayers and well wishes. I'm overwhelmed with gratitude. A special thanks to Chance The Rapper, 50 Cent and Diddy for their love and support."

Those prayers from other artists and friends may have been just what the doctor ordered. As we reported, there was a time last month when it looked like Jeremih wouldn't make it. He was on a ventilator in ICU last weekend, when 50, Chance and others asked for prayers on Jeremih's behalf.

50 made it clear a week ago, things were not looking good ... "Pray for my boy Jeremih. He's not doing good. This  COVID s*** is real."

Jeremih says, "I would like to thank all my fans and people around the world who prayed for me. I'm getting stronger everyday, and look forward to spending time with my sons."

Thank God ... literally.

Johns Hopkins Professor U.S. Response to Virus ... More Like 'Operation Turtle Speed'

Published

Operation Warp Speed is a misnomer, according to a Johns Hopkins doctor ... the frustrated doc says it's more like Operation Turtle Speed.

Professor Marty Makary is angry the FDA hasn't gone the route of Great Britain by approving the COVID vaccine and injecting its citizens.

Dr. Makary says he can't believe the FDA is still reviewing the efficacy and safety of the 2 promising vaccines -- courtesy of Pfizer and Moderna.

He says, "FDA regulators are wasting precious time in greenlighting a COVID vaccine as more than 2,000 Americans are dying each day and the pandemic continues to starve American society."

Dr. Anthony Fauci said Friday, most Americans who are not in high-risk groups will probably have the vaccine available to them by April. Fauci had said he believed England cut corners in approving the vaccine and that the FDA was the gold standard and would be more thorough. He apologized for his comment the next day, presumably because it undermined confidence in the vaccines.

Fauci's feelings don't sit well with Dr. Makary, who shot back ... the FDA could have approved the vaccine within 24 to 48 hours without cutting any corners. He does not explain why he thinks the FDA process could be accelerated without rolling the dice on safety.

The sad reality is this ... there are now models suggesting more than half a million Americans will be dead from COVID by late April. The country is now in the grip of the virus ... more than 100,000 people are in the hospital and on Friday more than 2,600 died.

More Americans died this week from COVID than heart disease ... which up to now has been the leading cause of death in America.

Texas High School Football Star Player Arrested for Assault ... For Attacking Ref

Published | Updated
UPDATE

12:04 PM PT -- 12/4 -- Emmanuel Duron has been arrested for assault for attacking the referee -- and officials have released his mug shot.

UPDATE

The 18-year-old player was arrested and booked Friday for assault causing bodily injury. A judge set his bond at $10,000.

UPDATE

On his booking sheet, Duron is listed at 5'11", 225 pounds.

UPDATE

9:54 AM PT -- 12/4 -- The Edinburg football team has been REMOVED from the playoffs over the incident despite winning the game, the school district announced on Friday.

UPDATE

The district says it is also launching a full investigation to "understand the facts and circumstances underlining this incident" ... and vows to take proper disciplinary action based on the results of the probe.

UPDATE

There's also new info on the referee -- 59-year-old Fred Gracia -- who's been working as a football official in Texas for 27 years.

UPDATE

Gracia's daughter went to social media to give a health update -- saying, "He's tough and I'm happy he was able to walk off the field on his own. Others aren't always so lucky."

Disgusting moment at a high school football game in Texas -- where a top player violently exploded on a referee AFTER he had already been ejected ... and the whole thing was caught on video.

It all went down Thursday night right after Edinburg High defensive end Emmanuel Duron was ejected from the game following a late hit penalty against an opposing player in the 2nd quarter.

After the ref announced Duron was disqualified from the game, Duron -- wearing #88 -- sprints back on the field and blasts the ref with a full-speed blindside tackle, sending the official crashing to the ground.

Multiple Edinburg High coaches and players had raced out to try and stop Duron's attack, but they were too late.

The ref was in obvious pain -- and remained on the ground for several minutes. He was later evaluated in an ambulance, according to The Monitor's Andrew McCulloch, who was reporting at the game.

Several police officers escorted Duron off the field -- but it's unclear if he was formally arrested and booked for a crime.

We're reached out to cops and the school district for information -- we'll let you know when we hear back.

Duron is a junior defensive tackle and all-around top athlete. He's scored a rushing TD as a running back and also kicked a 51-yard field goal earlier this season.

He's also a high school wrestling star, whose coach had said to reporters back in March that he's among the best in the state and a clear favorite to win a state title.

F1 Driver Romain Grosjean On Fiery Crash ... I Must Live for My Kids!!!

Published

Formula 1 Driver Romain Grosjean is getting brutally honest about the fiery crash he survived at the Bahrain Grand Prix over the weekend -- saying he honestly thought he was going to die.

"For me it wasn’t quite 28 seconds, it felt more like a 1 minute 30," Grosjean said.

In fact, Grosjean says there was a moment when he was stuck in his car where he began to accept his fate.

"All my [muscles] relaxes," Grosjean said in a candid interview with Sky Sports ... "[I'm at] peace with myself thinking, 'I'm dead.'"

"I will die. Which part is gonna burn first? Is it the foot? The hands? Is it going to be painful? Very strange feeling."

As we previously reported, Grosjean lost control and slammed into a barrier -- causing his car to explode into a ball of flames.

During the fiery incident, Grosjean told Sky Sports he began to think about his family -- and that's what ultimately motivated him to escape to safety.

"I thought about my kids and I thought, 'No I cannot die today.'"

Grosjean says he finally found the strength to escape the burning car -- and he was whisked away to safety.

After he was rescued, Grosjean says it was important he showed the world he could walk on his own power.

“It was key that there was some footage of me walking towards the ambulance. Even though I’d walked out of the fire, I needed to send another strong message that I was okay."

After the incident, Grosjean made a video from his hospital bed thanking the responders and medical staffers who saved his life.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Despite the scary situation, Grosjean only suffered injuries to his hands -- and seems to be in great spirits, considering he almost died.

McKenzie Milton QB Transferring From UCF Gunning for Starting Job 2 Years After Horrific Injury

Published

McKenzie Milton -- the QB who almost lost his leg in a horrific '18 injury -- announced he's leaving UCF in hopes of competing for a starting QB job somewhere else.

23-year-old Milton only has 1 year of eligibility left -- and in the 2 years he's spent recovering, his backup Dillon Gabriel has been BALLING OUT for the Knights.

Milton -- who worked his way back to the UCF scout team (incredible considering most people thought his career was over) -- says Gabriel has clearly earned the starting job and he's leaving to avoid any sort of QB controversy.

It's huge news ... Milton was once regarded as one of the top QBs in the country -- leading the Knights to a perfect 12-0 record in 2017. He finished 8th in the Heisman Trophy voting that year.

But then, the injury happened ... Milton took a vicious hit while playing USF in 2018 and suffered catastrophic injuries in his right leg that required emergency surgery to restore blood flow.

Milton was diagnosed with a dislocated right knee as well as ligament, nerve and artery damage -- and his injuries were so bad, doctors considered amputating the lower part of the leg.

After multiple operations and countless hours in rehab and the gym, Milton was cleared to return to the field ... and now, he believes he's healthy and strong enough to play against high-level competition in college and then the NFL.

In an emotional video released by the school, Milton praises UCF for the support they've given him over the years.

"They saved my leg too, man. I wouldn't be able to play football again if it wasn't for UFC ... so, just thank you for everything."

Milton says he approached his head coach Josh Heupel a few weeks ago to explain his decision to leave -- saying, "Coach, I have one shot to go chase a dream ... a lifelong dream to go play in the NFL."

Milton knows he needs to prove to NFL scouts he's back to 100% and the only way to do that is by SHOWING them on game film, which he hopes to accomplish at another university.

UCF has been super supportive of Milton -- with Coach Heupel telling the QB, no matter where he goes next ... "this will always be your home."

Good luck!

Disturbing Video Woman Tased by Cops in Spain ... Police Say She Assaulted Medical Staff

Published | Updated

A woman in Spain could only scream and writhe in pain after getting tased by cops ... and it's all on video.

The incident went down in the town of Sabadell -- about 30 minutes north of Barcelona -- where police whipped out their Tasers after they say the woman kicked officers while resisting arrest following an alleged assault on medical workers, a crazy chain of events that begins with her violating COVID rules.

The woman admitted to breaking virus protocols by trying to bring her mother to her doctor's appointment and also copped to kicking the cops, but she says she only kicked because police used excessive force when they tased her in broad daylight before stunned bystanders.

The police, meanwhile, stand by their use of the Taser ... again, claiming she assaulted staff at the doctor's office and gave a cop a kick while resisting arrest.

It's a pretty intense video ... and the woman needed a hospital trip for her injuries and spent the night in jail after being booked for assault.

COVID rules are driving people nuts ... and not just in America.

Tommy Lasorda Out Of ICU But Still Hospitalized

Published | Updated

L.A. Dodgers legend Tommy Lasorda is getting better by the day ... the 93-year-old is now out of the ICU, though he still remains hospitalized in Southern California.

The former MLB manager was admitted with heart issues in early November ... and shortly after, things took a turn for the worse.

Sources told TMZ Sports at the time ... Lasorda needed sedation and to be put on a ventilator -- but noted his condition was NOT coronavirus related.

An L.A. Dodgers spokesperson told the Associated Press last week Lasorda's condition was improving so rapidly -- noting he was able to field calls from friends and former baseball colleagues!

Now, on Tuesday, the Dodgers told the AP that Lasorda is continuing to make substantial progress -- and he's been moved out of the intensive care unit.

Seems Tommy's still got a ways to go before he's back home ... the Dodgers said he's still doing rehab at the hospital in Orange County -- but it's clear Lasorda's well down the road to recovery at this point.

Get well soon!!

THIS BOOT IS MADE FOR WALKIN'

Joe Biden is giving his broken foot woes the boot ... quite literally.

The President-elect was spotted Tuesday in Wilmington, DE, popping into the Queen Theater to announce new cabinet members, and he was dressed to the nines in his usual navy blue suit ... now accessorized with a walking boot on his right foot.

Doesn't look like the boot was giving JB much trouble ... after exiting his SUV (without assistance) he struck a pose, lifting the boot pretty high, almost like a soldier. When asked how he's feeling, he flashed a thumbs up.

By the looks of it, Biden's probably gonna be just fine ... a vast improvement from how fragile he looked limping out of his doctor's office over the weekend.

Of course, that's not to downplay the seriousness of his injury -- remember, his doctor said he suffered a hairline fracture in his middle foot area when he took a tumble playing with his German shepherd, Major.

Biden will be in a boot for the foreseeable future -- several weeks the doc predicts -- so get used to these images.

UPDATE

Cops say the shooting suspect has not been identified and is still at large, and no motive has been established at this time.

A woman trying to leave a condo complex got ambushed by a man in a pickup truck, who opened fire on her ... and all signs point to a hit job.

The video footage from a home security cam shows the horrifying scene played out Saturday ... in Michigan.

The driver of the truck jumps out and begins firing. You hear at least 8 shots ring out, as her friend screams from outside the condo.

The SUV driver flees the scene and the shooter follows her. Around 30 seconds later the victim returns to the condo and runs inside, yelling to her friend, "I'm shot!"

The victim's condition is unknown. Police are searching for the shooter.

WE LOVE YOU, LYRIC

Cardi B's getting inspiration today from a little girl named Lyric ... whose story, Cardi says, should remind all of us to be kind and appreciate everything we have.

As Cardi says ... Lyric is a "very strong girl" from Houston who is fighting brain cancer and has undergone 4 surgeries, but she's still smiling and spreading joy.

That's evident by the fact the rapper says so many people have DM'd her about Lyric ... and obviously, love her and want her to get better.

Funny thing is, Lyric seems to be making other people better by being such a shining light despite her ordeal, and putting a smile on their faces. Cardi's so moved, she poured out her heart about Lyric ... saying she feels like she has it tough sometimes, but now realizes it's nothing compared to what Lyric is going through, and that's truly inspiring.

Finally, Cardi shouts out Lyric's mother and commends her for being strong as well, and says she's sending prayers and love to Lyric and the whole family ... and urging them to keep holding on.

Jake Paul Bloody Footage from Broken Nose ... 3 Weeks Before Fight!!!

Published | Updated

Here's video which Jake Paul says PROVES he really did suffer a broken nose 3 weeks before the Nate Robinson fight ... and yeah, he looks pretty busted up.

The footage shows Paul in what appears to be a hospital exactly 20 days before the Nov. 28 fight -- bleeding from the bridge of his nose with electrodes on his chest.

Paul also posted a pic of the scar after he was cleaned up.

The 23-year-old says he sustained the injury while meditating -- "I passed out on the concrete" -- and it posed a real threat to his training in those pivotal weeks before the match.

Paul says he couldn't spar for several days -- which is a big deal going into a fight. In fact, Paul says his whole training camp came to a screeching halt for a moment.

But, Paul persevered and dominated in his fight with the ex-NBA player -- ultimately securing a violent KO in the 2nd round.

As for Jake's nose, it didn't look like Nate connected one flush shot to Paul's face during the fight.

Now, Paul says he's looking forward to his next opponent -- which he HOPES is either Conor McGregor or Dillon Danis.

The bottom line ... Jake says he's dead serious about pursuing a career in boxing and we can all expect him to get back in the ring ASAP.

MLB's Tommy Pham Sues Strip Club ... You're The Reason I Was Stabbed!!!

Published

Padres star Tommy Pham is suing the San Diego strip club where he was stabbed back in October ... claiming it's the employees' fault that he suffered "catastrophic injuries" at the venue.

As we previously reported, the 32-year-old outfielder was at Pacers Showgirls International at around 10:35 PM on Oct. 11 when he was involved in an altercation in the parking lot that left him with a massive stab wound.

BLOODY EXCHANGE

Cops say when Pham tried to walk toward his vehicle -- several people that were involved in a fight near his car confronted him.

Police say Pham "physically moved" one of the men near his ride ... and that's when cops say he was pushed down and ultimately slashed.

Police say Pham's wound was MASSIVE -- approximately 12 inches long and 5 inches wide -- and in video of the scene just after the attack, you can see Pham's shirt was soaked in blood.

Now, in new court docs, filed in San Diego last week, Pham is claiming the entire incident could have all been prevented by the strip club.

In the suit, Pham claims the employees "escalated the risk by participating in the fight and antagonizing" the people involved in the parking lot altercation.

Pham says he was initially "trapped inside the business" due to the commotion ... and he claims that despite the growing size and magnitude of the fight, nobody from the venue called authorities.

In the docs, Pham says he attempted to wait inside for the altercation to die down ... but adds when he couldn't stay any longer, he tried to go outside to the valet to get his car.

That's when Pham says he was attacked and stabbed "without any provocation" ... resulting in "catastrophic injuries" that he claims will hurt his "earning capacity as an elite professional baseball player."

Pham now wants the nightclub, its employees and its security to pay up over the incident ... claiming negligence and negligent hiring and supervision. He's also suing the unknown people from the fight for battery.

In the suit, Pham is asking for damages.

We've reached out to the strip club for comment, but so far, no word back.

Soccer Star Raul Jimenez Undergoes Surgery for Fractured Skull ... After Violent Collision

Published

Mexican soccer star Raul Jimenez underwent surgery Sunday night after fracturing his skull during a Premier League game in London, his team confirmed.

The 29-year-old forward was playing for his club Wolverhampton against Arsenal -- when he collided with Brazilian star David Luiz while going after a corner kick in the 5th minute of the game.

The two banged heads -- and it was so loud, you could hear the impact on the TV broadcast.

Medical personnel rushed on to the field to treat both men -- but it was obvious Jimenez was badly hurt ... and they called for the stretcher.

He was eventually transported to a nearby hospital -- where he was diagnosed with a fractured skull and underwent surgery.

Wolverhampton issued a statement Monday morning -- saying, "Raul is comfortable following an operation last night, which he underwent in a London hospital."

"He has our love and support as he begins a period of recovery.  We're all with you, @Raul_Jimenez9."

As for Luiz, he was bandaged up and stayed in the game.

Wolverhampton ended up winning the match 2-1.

Joe Biden Fractures Foot Playing with Dog .... Boot Life for Weeks

Published | Updated
UPDATE

5:33 PM PT -- Yikes ... Biden's sprain just upgraded to a fracture, which will have him living the boot life for a good while.

UPDATE

Biden's doctor says that although initial X-rays did not show any obvious facture in his right foot, further imaging from a CT scan confirmed he'd suffered hairline fractures on his lateral and intermediate cuneiform bones ... which are in the mid-foot area.

UPDATE

His doc adds, "It is anticipated that he will likely require a walking boot for several weeks." Oof ...

UPDATE

4:00 PM PT -- Here's Joe Biden leaving his doctor's office after being preliminarily examined, and while there's no fracture or break ... it's clear he hurt himself pretty bad.

UPDATE
UPDATE

The man's walking gingerly with a slight limp. Luckily, there was a waiting car ready to pick him up and take him away. He also some handlers on hand for assistance.

UPDATE

3:11 PM PT -- Looks like Joe's gonna be alright after all -- his doctor says he suffered a sprain in his right foot, but that X-rays showed no obvious sign of a fracture.

President-elect Joe Biden might be limping his way into the White House -- the guy twisted his ankle this weekend playing with his dog ... and is getting checked out just in case.

Biden was injured Saturday while playing with his German Shepherd, Major. He slipped and twisted his ankle in the process. Out of an abundance of caution, his team says he'll be examined by an orthopedist Sunday afternoon.

Reporters weren't allowed to view Biden going in or out of the doctor's office, per his team's request.

First of all, ouch. Second ... the news is both awesome and somewhat scary. It's great that Biden is active and able-bodied enough to play with his dog, and apparently feisty to the point that he could actually hurt himself ... even slightly.

It'll be cool having a Prez that gets out and there and ruffs it every now and then -- unlike Trump, whose only physical activity is golf ... which is pretty static.

On the other hand, Biden is an older guy ... he's 78. A sprained ankle isn't gonna make or break anything (we hope), but maybe take it easy out there, JB. We're gonna need ya intact for at least 4 years ... so tell Major (and Champ) to cool it.

Get well soon.

Published | Updated

This is INSANE ... a YouTuber decided it was a good idea to scale a bridge and then jump from the very top ... and it did NOT go well.

Saa Fomba told his fans his goal was to chase his dreams and "leave a mark." Well, leave a mark is what he did, as he hit the water with thunderous force.

He climbed the Pennybacker Bridge ... high above the Colorado River. You see him, on the top of the bridge, throwing his fists up in the air as he waited for a boat with rescuers to show. Once it did, he made the leap and got fully submerged. A few seconds later, he reappears.

Apparently, the rescuers realized Fomba was hurt and called EMT's. Fomba says he suffered a fractured skull and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Fomba's video caption reads, "You might see it as jumping for views, but I see more. I wasn't built for just normal, I’m a dream chaser, I don’t settle for less, I will leave my mark on this planet we call earth our home. chase yours and leave your mark."

Hope it was worth it.

Boosie Badazz Rolls Into Da Club ... In a Wheelchair!!!

Published | Updated

Boosie Badazz is recovering from multiple surgeries after being shot in the leg ... but that didn't stop him from turning up at the club on Thanksgiving.

The rapper hosted a "Thanksgiving Bash" Thursday night at the Exquis Event Center in Charleston, SC ... despite being confined to a wheelchair with his leg still heavily bandaged.

Boosie didn't need his legs to get on the mic though, and seemed to be in really good spirits as he rolled in to get the party going.

Still ... it sure seems pretty dicey from a guy who recently went under the knife, not to mention the fact he hit up a club where it appears there were zero COVID-19 precautions in place.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

And get this ... Boosie's planning on throwing another bash Saturday at an Alabama club for his birthday. The dude's definitely not taking it easy.

We broke the story ... Badazz was shot in the leg a couple weeks ago in Dallas, just days after his friend, Mo3, was killed there in a fatal shooting.

There were rumors the rapper had to have his foot amputated, but thankfully that was false. He did have to undergo a couple of surgeries for his gunshot wound, though ... including a procedure to remove bullet fragments and have screws put in to make sure his foot properly heals.

We're no doctors, but ya gotta think when they told Boosie to stay off his feet for 6 weeks ... this isn't what they had in mind.
