8:29 AM PT -- Pettersen is now claiming the Norwegian news outlet twisted her words from the interview ... and claims she NEVER called Trump a cheater.

"Sometimes you do interviews and media will twist whatever word/ saying to make a headline! It’s shocking to see... this is what I would call #fakenews."

She added, "Why would I call someone a cheat ... never!"

So far, the Norwegian outlet has NOT changed their article.

Donald Trump is being called out (kinda) by one of the best golfers on the planet -- who says POTUS "cheats like hell" every time they golf ... but insists she's got nothing but love for the guy.

Suzann Pettersen is a 15-time LPGA Tour champ -- she's a legend -- and she's been golfing with Trump for years.

So, when she sat down with the Norwegian newspaper, Verdens Gang, they wanted to know what Trump was like in real life.

"I’ve got to know Trump so well that I don’t take everything he says literally," Pettersen says ... "Yeah, you’ll never meet another person who loves himself as much as he does, but I have also met him on another level altogether, before he was president. I know how much he cares."

"He called me once a month and asked how things were going. It was always about golf. He is totally golf-crazed. Golf is the only thing the man thinks about."

So, how's Trump on the golf course?

"He cheats like hell," Pettersen said laughing ... "So I don’t quite know how he is in business."

"They say that if you cheat at golf, you cheat at business. I’m pretty sure he pays his caddie well, since no matter how far into the woods he hits the ball, it’s in the middle of the fairway when we get there."

"He always says he is the world’s best putter. But in all the times I’ve played him, he’s never come close to breaking 80."

"But what’s strange is that every time I talk to him he says he just golfed a 69, or that he set a new course record or won a club championship some place,."

TMZ did some research, and found that the stock price of McDonald's -- which Trump loves to eat, Twitter -- which Trump loves to tweet, and KFC -- another fast food favorite ... have all seen huge gains since he became president on January 20, 2017.

Mickey D's has seen the biggest boost so far during Trump's time in office -- its stock has risen 44% over the past year.

Twitter's close behind with a 42% increase, and many argue the Prez's usage of the social media platform is keeping it in business.

Yum! Brands, which owns KFC, has also seen a substantial 29% increase.

As we reported, Trump's physical this week "went exceptionally well" ... but he did discuss dieting with his doctor.

President Trump could stand to lose 10 to 15 pounds and he needs medication to control his cholesterol ... this according to his physician.

Dr. Ronnie Jackson went into greater detail Tuesday with Trump's first presidential physical exam taken Friday at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda. The doc initially said the exam "went exceptionally well," but cautioned there's room for improvement.

Jackson said Trump has a history of elevated cholesterol ... but he's taking Rx to control it. Jackson also said Trump's taking Propecia for his legendary and much maligned hair.

The doc said they talked about diet and exercise, but Trump was "more enthusiastic about the diet part."

Jackson also said the Prez does not wear dentures. As far as a psychological exam ... Jackson said the Prez did undergo a cognitive test per the Prez's request and the doc said he's all clear.

Rod Stewart's reaction to Dolores O'Riordan's death might not be the most sensitive, but it's definitely real ... and kinda dark.

No surprise here, but TMZ has learned Oprah was super active in student government and extracurricular activities at Tennessee's East Nashville High School where she graduated in 1971.

According to her yearbook, O was president of 2 different clubs during her time in H.S. -- the Drama Club and the National Forensics League -- and served as VP of the student council her senior year. She was also on the Honor Society.

And just like nowadays, Oprah had the admiration of her peers, too ... being voted "most popular" her senior year.

Wonder if Trump still thinks he can beat her after hearing that?

Senator Marco Rubio says despite the fact Oprah is rich and famous ... Trump's more famous and he'd beat her in a head-to-head 2020 election.

We got the Republican Senator Monday at Reagan National Airport and he conceded Oprah is loved by millions, but running for President is a whole other Oprah. He says once she starts taking positions, lots of people who liked her are likely to bail.

7:57 AM PT -- The network just released a statement about the tweet, saying, "Yesterday a tweet about the Golden Globes and Oprah Winfrey was sent by a third party agency for NBC Entertainment in real time during the broadcast. It is in reference to a joke made during the monologue and not meant to be a political statement. We have since removed the tweet."

Oprah's potential run for President is already on Trump's radar, and it's pissing him off ... Donald Trump Jr., that is.

The eldest son of POTUS is blasting NBC for gushing over Oprah Sunday night, and referring to her as "OUR future president." The network tweeted the comment shortly after Oprah's rousing speech at the Golden Globes, which aired on NBC.

Donald Jr. says, "In case anyone had any doubts about where the media stands this should take care of it. The bias against @realDonaldTrump is now so obvious they have simply given up hiding it."

Trump Jr. added, "Can you trust anything they say at this point? Americans see the truth in job #s & in their wallets!" His rant comes on the heels of Steadman Graham saying O would "absolutely" run for President in 2020, if the people convinced her.

Prez Trump has not reacted. Yet.

Donald Trump's youngest daughter's confirming one claim in 'Fire and Fury' ... or she's at least admitting Michael Wolff came pretty close to the truth.

We got Tiffany Trump leaving Kings Road Cafe in L.A. Friday, and asked her about one of the many odd claims in the new tell-all book -- that the Prez is crushing burgers in bed while watching TV.

Tiffany doesn't try to hide her dad's passion for the golden arches -- let's face it, neither does he. But it sounds like something or someone's stopping him from chowing in bed.
