'Survivor' Contestant Angie Jakusz Dead at 40

Published | Updated

Angie Jakusz, a former 'Survivor' contestant, has died after battling cancer.

Angie died Friday in the New Orleans area, and while we don't know her exact cause of death yet ... a recent GoFundMe page in her name says she'd been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

Her fellow contestants playfully gave her the nickname, "No Fun Angie," when she appeared on the competition show's tenth season, "Survivor: Palau." She competed for the Ulong tribe.

Angie made a little history on the show ... she was voted out on Day 12 after becoming the first contestant to lose a revote in tribal council. Fans also got to see her on the 'Survivor' 10-year anniversary party in 2010.

She was born and raised in Waukesha, Wisconsin ... but eventually settled in New Orleans where she was an artist, and a bartender in the French Quarter.

Angie is survived by her husband, Steven Calandra, her parents, brother, niece and nephew. She was 40.

LESS SEX, MORE CITY

Sarah Jessica Parker says the "Sex and The City" reboot isn't looking for a 4th character to replace Kim Cattrall ... instead, the show's taking advantage of all the city has to offer.

SJP says replacing Kim, who played Samantha Jones in the original series, isn't as black and white as bringing in a new main character ... telling Adam Glyn the show plans to have NYC make it a party of four.

As you know ... Kim's made it crystal clear she's not down for reboots, revivals or anything else.

The way Sarah explains it ... there will be lots of interesting and exciting new characters sprinkled in. The Big Apple's a big town, after all.

'Sex and The City' is getting revived on HBO Max, under the new title, "And Just Like That," and Sarah says they're still a ways away from shooting ... sounds like they're waiting to see what happens with the COVID-19 vaccine before getting in front of cameras.

It's really interesting to see Sarah talk about the show's return ... and she also reveals what she's looking forward to most.

Our sources say the Kardashians then busted out the Rollies, which as you can imagine, drew a lot more tears, excitement and thanks. We're told the entire cost was just around $300,000 -- about $10k per watch -- so, sweet parting gifts!

'Saved by the Bell' Star Dustin Diamond Hospitalized ... Likely Battling Cancer

Published | Updated

Dustin Diamond of "Saved By the Bell" has been hospitalized -- and cancer seems to be the likely prognosis ... TMZ has learned.

Dustin's team tells us he was hospitalized in Florida this past weekend after feeling pain all over his body and a general sense of unease. We're told he was taken to the hospital, where docs are running a number of tests to figure out what exactly is wrong with him.

Our sources say his medical team is concerned it's cancer, and they're conducting a biopsy to get answers. We're told Dustin's family has a history of cancer -- his mother died of breast cancer -- but it's unclear what kind of cancer they suspect in his case.

Dustin is most famous for playing Screech on 4 seasons of 'SBTB.'

Interestingly, he wasn't recast for the reboot of the show on Peacock -- seems like he and his former castmates have drifted since they wrapped shooting in '92.

Alex Trebek Selflessly Asks Viewers to Help COVID Victims ... Days Before His Death

Published

Alex Trebek was in pain in his last days of life, riddled with cancer, yet he opened his heart to "Jeopardy!" viewers, asking them to open their hearts and wallets to help COVID victims.

This is Alex's last week of shows, taped 10 days before his death. He says, "You'll recall that about a month ago, I asked all of you to take a moment to give thanks for all of the blessings that you enjoy in your lives." He is, of course, referring to his Thanksgiving message.

You can hear he has trouble speaking ... his voice is very raspy.

He goes on ... "But today, I'd like you to go one step further. I'd like you to open up your hands and open up your hearts to those who are still suffering because of COVID-19.  People who are suffering through no fault of their own."

Alex ends with this ... "This is the season of giving. I know you want to be generous with your family, your friends, your loved ones," adding, "We're trying to build a gentler, kinder society and if we all pitch in -- just a little bit -- we're gonna get there."

Alex died on November 8. A great man to the end.

James Corden I'm Sick of Being Overweight ... I'm Now a WW Pitchman!!!

Published | Updated

James Corden is sick of the way he looks, and he's changing things in a big way in 2021 ... or should we say a smaller way.

The late-night talk show host said he's "sick and tired" of failing at the weight game. He says that looking in the mirror is making him sad.

So, James has signed up to be the face of WW -- formerly known as Weight Watchers -- and presumably, everyone will follow his journey of the company's now forbidden words -- losing weight.

Corden said, "I want to change the way that I live. I want to be better for my children and for my family."

Corden got emotional, saying he's spent more than 10 years making failed New Year's resolutions to lose the lbs.

So, here's where his head is at now ..."I'm fed up with the way I look, I'm fed up with being unhealthy, this is the year I'm doing it."

James said he's the one who contacted WW and asked for help ..." They said if you stick with our regime, which is more about wellness and health and feeling better rather than lose a load of weight this can absolutely work."

The 42-year-old has plenty of inspiration ... "I don't want to wake up tired, or feel embarrassed when I'm chasing my son on the soccer field and out of breath after three minutes."

James joins Jennifer Hudson, Jessica Simpson, Tina Fey, DJ Khaled, and Oprah as WW clients.

BTW ... the whole idea of WW is to lose weight and keep it off, so why are the words "weight watchers" so offensive?

Chris Harrison Not Leaving 'Bachelor' Franchise ... Despite Move to Texas

Published | Updated

Chris Harrison will be on your TV sets for the foreseeable future, hosting the 'Bachelor' -- he's not going anywhere, despite a move he's making to Texas.

Rumors swirled this weekend amid news the longtime 'Bachelor' host was packing his bags and moving to Barton Creek -- just outside of Austin -- with his girlfriend, Lauren Zima. Folks heard that and thought ... the dude might be exiting his role with the franchise forever.

That's not the case though -- production sources with direct knowledge tell us he is NOT leaving the show ... he's simply relocating, partly because of a recent partnership deal he struck with a local brewery. He's also from Texas -- once hailing from Dallas -- but as far as work ... we're told he'll commute.

NBD really, tons of stars do this these days ... including one Ryan Seacrest, who pretty much lives bicoastal now because of his NYC-based hosting gig on 'Ryan & Kelly,' along with his L.A. based 'American Idol." Same idea for Chris, and in fact, his commute is much shorter.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Another reason folks thought he was hanging up his tux is because he was MIA for 2 weeks and JoJo Fletcher took over the hosting duties. We're told he was absent because he took his son to college -- in Texas -- and had to quarantine for 2 weeks before returning to the set.

BTW ... Chris has hosted for 20 years. Not a bad run. So for the foreseeable future ... everything will be coming up roses for Chris.

'RHOD' Star D'Andra Simmons Hospitalized with COVID-19 ... 1st 'Housewife' Hit So Hard

Published | Updated

'Real Housewives of Dallas' star D'Andra Simmons is bedridden in a hospital due to COVID-19 -- the first cast member from the Bravo shows who's gotten this ill.

Simmons' condition was first announced by podcast host Kate Casey, who says ... "Just heard from D’Andra and she is asking for your prayers. She’s in the hospital and struggling."

A rep for D'Andra has confirmed she's in bad shape.

The rep says D'Andra's been admitted into the COVID ward at UT Southwestern Hospital. It's unclear when she contracted the virus, or how long she's been at the hospital ... but her team says her oxygen levels have been borderline, and she's starting Remdesivir.

That's one of the anti-viral drugs President Trump was given when he came down with COVID -- part of the cocktail of therapeutics he says helped him recover quickly.

Simmons' diagnosis and health status is noteworthy -- as she appears to be the only 'Real Housewife' who's had to get checked in and treated for coronavirus. Others have had it -- including 'RHOBH' stars Kyle Richards, Kathy Hilton and Dorit Kemsley, but none required hospitalization.

As we've reported ... Bravo production crews have taken several steps to help keep the different 'Housewives' sets as safe as possible. They're requiring masks on everyone who isn't on-camera, they're doing temp checks, they're mostly shooting outdoors ... and everyone's encouraged to spread out. Still, despite that, some stars and others on set have caught it.

As for D'Andra ... she's been a staple on the Dallas iteration of the series for years now, and fans love her. Get well soon!

'Deadliest Catch' Star Nick McGlashan Dead at 33

Published | Updated

Nick McGlashan, a 7th generation fisherman who starred in "Deadliest Catch," has died ... TMZ has learned.

The Medical Examiner and family tell TMZ ... Nick passed away Sunday in Nashville. The cause of death has not been determined.

Nick appeared on the show for years ... from 2013 - 2020, in 78 episodes.

Nick's family has a storied tale of the sea. His great uncle worked on the first boat in the U.S. crab industry. Two of his aunts were crabbers ... one of who was lost at sea after the boat sank.

As for Nick ... he started crabbing at age 13. Nick quickly earned his stripes and up piloting the Cape Caution ... eventually upgrading to the Summer Bay.

Nick was an unrelenting figure on the boat. Nothing could stop him ... not pain, nothing. He never gave up ... even when the boat had perilous mechanical problems.

He struggled for years with addiction to alcohol and drugs ... it got bad enough he was suspended from part of Season 13 and ended up in rehab. It got so bad he said he was drinking a half-gallon of vodka and shooting up with one gram of meth and 2 grams of heroin in a single day. He tried hard to stay sober and said he was trying to inspire others to get clean.

The show has had its share of tragedies. We broke the story ... deckhand Mahlon Reyes died back in August after suffering a heart attack.

Nick was 33.

Ice-T My Big Fear of Appearing on 'Masked Dancer' ... Busting My Ass!!!

WON'T CATCH ME SLIPPIN'

Ice-T had just one worry about appearing on "The Masked Dancer" ... busting his ass!!!

The 'Law & Order: SVU' star joined "TMZ Live" and said everything was fine and dandy when he agreed to do the new FOX show. It was only one day of filming for him, he said, and the choreography also was a breeze. But then ... he got into costume.

The actor/rapper told us after putting the 20-pound head on his body ... he struggled to even lift his foot. He said his only focus at that point was simply not crashing to the ground.

Ice was super worried, not just about falling, but -- even worse -- becoming a  meme loop.

Ice-T was confused about the show when his manager called him -- all he knew about was "The Masked Singer." But, his 5-year-old daughter, Chanel, was a fan of the show and that was enough for him.

As for why Ice only taped one day -- he was first to be eliminated. It doesn't sound like he was too upset with the judges' decision.

"The Masked Dancer" airs on Fox, Wednesdays at 8 PM ET.
