No doubt, the kicks and cheeks are cool, but don't sleep on Beyonce's socks doubling as a pair of heels. What will they think of next?!

The Ivy Park-Adidas line drops Saturday, and Beyonce's really been going all-in on sex appeal for the campaign. Not that anyone's complaining.

The 'Captain America' actress who killed her mother just days before Christmas is claiming self-defense ... even though authorities say she was the aggressor.

According to the criminal affidavit ... Mollie Fitzgerald repeatedly told cops in Johnson County, Kansas she had to kill her mom in self-defense last month because her mother, Patricia, came at her with a knife.

In docs, cops say Mollie -- who had a small role in "Captain America: The First Avenger" -- told them she had to disarm 68-year-old Patricia, and during the struggle ... stabbed her 4 times in the back. When cops arrived, they found Patricia in a pool of blood with a knife lodged in her back.

Meanwhile, medics said Mollie had a series of small cuts on the palms of her hands and a bite mark on the inside of her left bicep. She was treated on scene with a tetanus shot and bandages.

But, according to the affidavit, an autopsy revealed it was Mollie's mother who was defending herself from a knife attack -- she had wounds on both of her hands described as "defensive injuries." One of the wounds nearly severed her thumb from her hand. She also had bruising on her face, lip and neck.

The Medical Examiner "did not find any injuries consistent with Patricia having delivered any strikes or having been in control of the involved knife." Based on that info, cops determined Mollie was the aggressor and booked her for murder.

Slovenian tennis pro Dalila Jakupovic was forced to quit her qualifying match at the Australian Open on Tuesday ... after she coughed and collapsed to the court due to the air quality.

Of course, the air in Melbourne is currently considered "the worst in the world" as smoke from the wildfires has taken over the area.

Despite the chief health officer saying the air was very poor or hazardous, the qualifying round of the tournament kicked off on Tuesday ... and several players have complained about the conditions already.

Jakupovic was in the middle of the second set of her match against Stefanie Vogele when she started coughing uncontrollably and went to her knees.

“I was really scared that I would collapse," the 28-year-old said ... adding that it was unfair for players to have to play in the current conditions.

"I never had breathing problems. I actually like heat," Jakupovic added. "I just couldn't breathe anymore and I just fell on the floor."

Other tennis pros needed assistance during their matches ... including Genie Bouchard and Bernard Tomic.

Yo Gotti is a man of his word, following through with a lawsuit on behalf of nearly 30 Mississippi state prisoners enduring nightmarish, sometimes deadly conditions.

TMZ broke the story, Gotti enlisted Team Roc -- the philanthropic arm of Jay-Z's Roc Nation -- and its high-powered attorney, Alex Spiro, to rep the prisoners after a spike in deadly violence at several MS state prisons.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in federal court, says the max-security prison, Parchman, is a powder keg after 3 deaths in the first week of 2020. All 3 inmates were stabbed to death.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, the MS prison system is "chronically understaffed" and also dramatically underfunded ... as in reduced by tens of millions each year. Those numbers -- combined with allegedly deplorable conditions -- have brought the prison to a boiling point.

To make matters worse, Parchman doesn't have enough mattresses for the inmates, cells are covered in black mold and raw sewage is spilling out on the floors ... according to the suit.

The prison allegedly has a serious water problem too, similar to Flint. In the suit, Team Roc claims the drinking water for inmates repeatedly fails to meet federal safety standards.

Jenifer Lewis is begging climate change deniers to wake up and smell the smoke from Australia ... and believe the scientific facts she observed with her own eyes.

The "Black-ish" star was on "TMZ Live" Tuesday to make a passionate plea to save the planet from the effects of man-made pollution. She told us her recent trip to Antarctica inspired her to start speaking out -- and even write a song -- about the devastation climate change is causing around the world.

She says she spent 2-and-a-half weeks on a ship off the Antarctic coast and saw massive glaciers melting away, Jenifer told us it not only terrified her but moved the captain of her ship to tears.

Jenifer was already planning to sound the alarm when she got back to the U.S., and then the Australian wildfire news exploded around the world. She blames that tragedy on the "stupidity of humans."

Heads are rolling in USC's athletic department over the college admissions scandal and university fundraising -- a key part of Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli's defense.

The university just fired 3 officials -- CFO Steve Lopes, senior associate athletic director Ron Orr and associate athletic director Scott Jacobson. USC hasn't said why they were canned, but we've confirmed all 3 were heavily involved in fundraising efforts for Trojan athletics.

TMZ broke the story ... Mossimo wrote a check for $50k, payable directly to USC. Sources connected to the case told us the check was sent to another athletics director, Donna Heinel, who USC already fired. We're told the check was sent at the direction of the scandal ringleader, Rick Singer.

Vanessa Hudgens needed a clean slate in both her love life and her kitchen -- so she took care of both in one fell swoop ... kicking all that trash to the curb.

TMZ Sports broke the story ... Brady's favorite target (and last year's Super Bowl MVP) was arrested for vandalism Saturday night in Beverly Hills after cops say he jumped on the hood of a Mercedes-Benz.

Our law enforcement sources tell us it appeared as if Edelman had been drinking before the incident. He was partying with ex-Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce and former New England Patriots teammate Danny Amendola earlier in the night. The group had been hanging out at Cantina Frida while the Ravens were losing to the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Divisional playoff game.

Cardi B's potential political career is getting a boost from Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders, who says she has the perfect background -- and no, he's not referring to "Bodak Yellow."

As you know, Cardi and Bernie have gotten pretty tight. She's obviously fond of him, but it's a two-way street ... because Sen. Sanders told us he's all for getting into politics, as she's recently hinted.

Sanders tells TMZ ... "Cardi B is deeply concerned about what's happening in the country. She knows what it's like to live in poverty and struggle, and it would be great for her to bring that experience to politics."

Cardi's shown an interest in politics for a while now, but as we reported ... she's now saying she's more serious about a run, and soon.

Larry David went FULL Larry David on a gaggle of thirsty autograph hounds who really need to find a new gig, according to him -- and yet, in the end, he kinda encouraged them.

The "Seinfeld" co-creator and star of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" was leaving his season 10 premiere Monday night in L.A. ... and before he could get to his car, he was greeted by the John Hancock brigade. One of 'em told Larry he'd been waiting for 7 hours, and that set LD off on a 'Curb'-worthy rant.

Larry made it clear he didn't tell them to waste 7 hours ... and ripped the group, saying no celeb likes signing for these guys who follow them for signatures, which they turn around and sell.

A former Penn State football player is suing the University -- claiming star players violently hazed younger players ... and made sexual threats invoking noted child rapist Jerry Sandusky.

The man behind the suit is Isaiah Humphries -- a defensive back who says he accepted a full scholarship to Penn State beginning in 2018.

But, Humphries says life as a Nittany Lion was hell -- with several upperclassmen players including Damion Barber, Micah Parsons, Yetur Gross-Matos and Jesse Luketa leading a campaign of hazing against the new players.

FYI, Micah Parsons is a star player -- the outside linebacker was Defensive MVP of the 2019 Cotton Bowl. Gross-Matos was an All-BIG 10 defensive end in '18 and '19.

According to Humphries' lawsuit, the upper classmen intended to make the new guys "their bitch" from the get-go ... telling them, "this is a prison."

He claims the upperclassmen also made threats against the new guys -- saying things like, "I am going to f*ck you" and "I am going to Sandusky you ... This is Jerry."

The alleged Sandusky quotes obviously refer to the disgraced Penn State football coach who was convicted of sexually assaulting many young boys at the school's athletic facility.

The allegations get much worse from here. Here's a list from the lawsuit ...

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can still lay claim to the Sussex Royal brand across the pond -- despite the "Megxit" -- but here in the U.S. of A., someone's already calling dibs!!!

You might've heard the Duke and Duchess of Sussex filed trademark docs in the UK to use the phrase "Sussex Royal" for possible merch in the future -- including possible online sales on their recently launched site of the same name.

Doesn't look like anyone's fighting 'em for the brand in England, but it ain't gonna be so easy for 'em stateside thanks to a guy named Joel Fogelson ... who's already filed an application to own "Sussex Royal" in America.

Now, frankly, this could get complicated for Joel if he was dead set on keeping it because it's their name, after all. However, he tells us he only filed for it on digital platforms because he saw it was available, and simply couldn't believe it.

Stan Kirsch -- better known as Richie Ryan on the original "Highlander" TV series -- was found dead in his L.A. home.

Law enforcement sources confirm Stan's wife, Kristyn Green, found the actor hanging Saturday afternoon in their bathroom. Paramedics responded, but we're told he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Stan had tons of acting credits, appearing on shows like "JAG," "General Hospital" and "Friends" ... in addition to his 6 seasons on "Highlander" in the mid-90s. However, he was also a renowned acting coach in Los Angeles.

A tribute to Stan on the show's official Facebook page said, "Without Stan Kirsch, Highlander: The Series would have been far less. He brought a sense of humor, kindness and youthful enthusiasm to the character of Richie Ryan for six seasons."

Harvey Weinstein has no shot at a fair trial in his NYC criminal case due to a tainted jury pool ... so says his defense team, which is laying blame squarely on the judge.

Weinstein's lead attorney, Donna Rotunno, tells TMZ … the disgraced Hollywood mogul has had such an immense amount of negative press coverage, she doesn't think it will be possible to find impartial jurors.

They're on the 6th day of jury selection right now, but Rotunno says all the potential candidates have likely formed opinions about Weinstein's guilt already ... due to what happened on day one.

As we reported ... Weinstein was hit with new sex crime charges in L.A. last week -- on the same day his NY trial started. His lawyers say because of the timing, the NY judge should have adjourned the case for a "cooling off period" -- a month or so -- to allow the news cycle to die down.

That didn't happen -- the judge immediately shot down their motion to adjourn, saying the L.A. charges were "next to meaningless" to the NY criminal case. As a result, Rotunno says the L.A. case is too fresh on the minds of the NY jury pool.
