Colin Mochrie Hits Fan Over Head With VHS Tape ... Signing Gone Awry?!?

Published
UPDATE

6:04 AM PT -- 11/2 A rep for the comedian tells us the incident was actually planned, and is to be used for a currently unnamed pilot Mochrie is working on.

Colin Mochrie turned a videotape into a weapon ... using it to rain blows on a fan's head in a curbside autograph session gone haywire ... and we have it all on video.

The bizarre incident unfolded Monday afternoon in Bev Hills, where the "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" star was approached by an autograph hound ... but the incident looks like it could be part of a sketch. It's possible that's what it is, but cameras are not in place to catch it.

Ya gotta see for yourself ... Colin looks like he's being asked to sign the VHS tape and the fan appears to reach for Colin's head, and that's when they start to wrestle and CM uses the tape to smack the guy in the noggin.

The autograph seeker has a camera in hand during the incident and appears to run off after getting bopped on the head, leaving the VHS tape with Colin.

We reached out to Colin's camp ... so far, no word back.

Dave Chappelle at R&R HOF 'I Apologize' Joke During Jay-Z Speech ... Yuks it Up w/ Sarandos

Published | Updated

Dave Chappelle is still being cheeky about his Netflix controversy -- taking his act to the Rock & Roll HOF this weekend, and getting facetime with none other than Ted Sarandos.

The comedian helped induct Jay-Z into the Hall Saturday down in Cleveland, where he was one of the few who kicked off the introduction -- alongside folks like Barack Obama, who also delivered remarks -- and DC opened with a line that directly touched on "The Closer."

He started by whipping out a piece of paper and reading from it, saying ... "I would like to apologize," cut himself off and then said, "nah, I'm just f***ing with ya." Everyone laughed.

Dave didn't discuss it much beyond that -- but he did sing HOV's praises ... talking about the impressive ascension he's made in life, going from drug dealer to rapper to bona fide mogul. Of course, there were jokes sprinkled in along the way -- and Dave was very well-received.

That's not all, though. Netflix's CEO was also on hand for the festivities -- for his father-in-law Clarence Avant's own induction into the Hall -- and he actually bumped into Dave backstage ... where they shook hands and shared a few words. Some reports say Dave and Ted were even seen laughing together at one point as well.

They also posed for a photo together -- and Mr. Dave Grohl himself joined in on the fun ... squeezing his way in and cheesin'. It's quite obvious ... Dave is nowhere near "canceled" as he incredulously alluded to last weekend over his comments on the LGBT community.

Obviously, he's still got many, many friends in Hollywood -- and he's considered in high enough regard to get booked for something like this ... where an ex-Prez (a Democratic one, no less) was among them too, albeit via video -- BO beamed in with a video message.

If you can show your face around Barry and friends, you're probably going to be just fine.

Bill Maher Guests Square Off ... 'Toxic' vs. 'Heroic' Masculinity

Published | Updated

Bill Maher really got down to basics Friday night ... with a really interesting chit-chat about toxic masculinity ... and there's enough here for you to decide which side you're on.

Atlantic writer, Caitlin Flanagan, squared off against Delaware Senator, Chris Coons, with an assist from BM.

Caitlin railed on what she says is misdirected and dangerous wokeness ... somehow turning "heroic masculinity" into a dirty phrase. She thinks it's critical to teach boys the virtues of men who do heroic things, and she says it's important to distinguish men from women, because the former are simply stronger and better suited to save the day when physical strength is the operative factor.

Coons tries to blow up her theory with 2 examples -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Barbara Ann Mikulski, but Flanagan scoffs at that, firing back ... "I'm not going to wait for [Pelosi] to get me out of a burning building ..."

Coons doesn't exactly buy into what Flanagan is saying ... instead he talks about the virtue of respect that he has taught his twin sons. He doesn't really address Flanagan's point ... that boys should be taught the virtues of using their physical strength for good, rather than being taught to be ashamed of it.

Maher jumped in .... "boys are sometimes castigated for basically just being boys."

Deon Cole That Chappelle vs. Gadsby Feud??? All I Can Say Is ... LMFAO!!!

Published

Somewhere in Hollywood right now, Deon Cole is still laughing -- at least we think so, based on his reaction to a hot-button Dave Chappelle topic we threw out to him.

The comedian and "Black-ish" star was bolting from The Ivy Thursday afternoon in WeHo when we asked what he thought about Chappelle's (half-joking, we think) demand for Netflix employees to admit fellow comic Hannah Gadsby is not funny, before he agrees to meet with them.

Admittedly, that could be a tough question for Deon, who's friends with Chappelle -- but tours a lot of comedy clubs too, and could run into Hannah from time to time.

Nevertheless, he responded, but you really gotta see how. This isn't just top-notch deflecting -- it's straight-up funny!!!

You'll recall ... Hannah fired the first shot at Dave, describing "The Closer" Netflix special as his "emotionally stunted partial world view."

Dave's rebuttal came during his show last week in Nashville, and while he was most likely joking about the Hannah demand ... the joke landed hard for Deon.

Australian Golfer Tee Shot Interrupted ... Kanagaroos On The Fairway!!!

Published | Updated

You've seen geese, gators and birds interrupting golfers on the course ... but ever seen kangaroos do it?!?!

Well, it just happened in Australia ... and the video is hilarious!!

Wendy Powick, an amateur golfer, shared footage of the incident on Monday ... explaining she was teeing off at Arundel Hills Country Club (eight hours north of Sydney) when the large animals popped up.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

The video shows Powick was just about to swing her driver on the 11th hole ... when more than a dozen kangaroos charged right at her!

"Never ever seen this happen before," said Powick, who laughed as all of the animals stared at her on the tee box.

"Absolutely gold and only in Australia," she added.

Don't worry, the kangaroos all eventually hopped away ... and Powick was able to finish off her round.

"There's a lot of them at this course," Powick said of the kangaroos to 7News. "Usually they stick to the sides and watch you play."

As if golf wasn't already hard enough ...

Teresa Giudice Night Out with New Fiance ... Creates Flash Frenzy!!!

Published | Updated

Teresa Giudice and her new fiance, Luis Ruelas, caused quite a scene when they showed up to an NYC comedy club ... with tons of fans, well-wishers and camera flashes greeting them at the door.

The newly engaged couple hit Caroline's on Broadway Wednesday night to support her brother, Joe Gorga, who had a gig. As soon as they arrived, Teresa and Luis were hit with a flood of cameras and questions -- they stayed mostly silent before heading inside -- but then came back out to take more pics, and flash her new engagement ring.

COMEDY & CONGRATULATIONS

We got some video inside the club, and backstage Gorga congratulated his sister and future brother-in-law with some nice words ... and a round of shots.

As for his set, Joe had the audience rolling with 'Housewives' jokes ... and Teresa and Luis seemed to be eating it up too.

No wedding date or details yet, but if the comedy show is any indicator, it's sure to be over the top.

Nets Co-Owner Clara Wu Tsai Spills Jay-Z's Drink At Game ... Whoops!!!

Published | Updated

Jay-Z almost got a lapful of his drink at the Nets game Wednesday ... and it's all 'cause Brooklyn co-owner Clara Wu Tsai got a little too excited following a big play!!

The scene was hilarious ... just seconds before halftime of the Nets' game against the Heat, Blake Griffin threw down a dunk that brought Wu Tsai out of her courtside seat.

Video shows the team's co-owner clapped, and then grabbed Hov by his left arm to celebrate with the rapper.

The problem ... Jay's drink was in that arm's hand, and it spilled all over the place!!!

The cup looked to be filled with red wine, too ... but, thankfully, it missed Jay's jeans and sneakers -- and the 51-year-old was able to laugh it all off.

Of course, we're sure Jay would've been fine with it regardless ... he and Wu Tsai are good friends, and are famously partners in REFORM -- the org. the two helped develop in order to fight criminal injustice in America.

Seems the rest of the game went off without a hitch -- the two sat courtside and laughed and talked throughout the evening, though the Nets did end up losing 106-93.

Nikita Dragun Hey Chappelle, Let Me Educate You On Transgender Community

EDUCATION AND UNDERSTANDING

Nikita Dragun wants to take Dave Chappelle to school ... extending an olive branch of sorts, and offering him a chance to get an education on the transgender community.

We got the transgender influencer Wednesday at Il Pastaio in Beverly Hills and asked her about Dave's controversial LGBTQ+ jokes.

Nikita says both sides need more understanding and communication ... and she says one way to achieve that is through education.

She wants to help school Dave, sitting down with the comedian and coming at him in a non-threatening way.

As you know ... Dave's jokes are rubbing lots of folks the wrong way, including trans employees at Netflix, where his controversial special, "The Closer," streams.

There was even a walkout protest at Netflix HQ ... but as we've told you, Dave's saying he is down to meet with members of the transgender community to hear them out, with a few conditions.

Unclear if Nikita will be part of the conversation ... but she wants a shot.

Small Dong March End Small Penis Shame!!!

Published | Updated

There's a movement to end the shame cast down upon those with small penises ... and it's getting bigger.

Los Angeles played host to the "Small Dong March" ... with throngs of folks taking to the streets to try and end the stigma around tiny members.

As you can see, people busted out a bunch of funny signs to make their point ... so click through the gallery to see some of the more creative cracks.

The Small Dong March is the brainchild of YouTube stars Chad and JT ... the surfer bros famous for pitching the San Clemente City Council on a 12-foot-tall Paul Walker statue.

Not everyone in the march was there because they had a small dong ... despite some of the chants you can hear on video echoing down the streets.

We're told attendees did not have to pack a small penis themselves, they could just be an ally.

NO LAUGHING MATTER

The Small Dong March is the latest step in the crusade to end small penis shaming ... the organizers previously hosted a small dong art show.

No word what's next, and it might take a big effort to change hearts and minds ... but ya gotta start small.

Dave Chappelle Down for Transgender Discussion ... Lists Terms in New Stand-Up

Published | Updated

Dave Chappelle has finally spoken for himself on his ongoing Netflix controversy -- saying he is, indeed, down to meet with members of the transgender community and hear 'em out ... but he has a few conditions.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

The comedian was in Nashville over the weekend for a new show ... where a ton of his comic buddies opened for him, including Jeff Ross, Donnell Rawlings, Tom Segura and Joe Rogan. Eventually, Dave himself came out and addressed the elephant in the room.

According to eyewitnesses, he started his set with a "statement" to those he'd offended with "The Closer," jokingly pulling out a piece of paper and reading ... "F*** y'all, n****s!"

The jokes kept flying from there, with DC saying he was in so much trouble that he couldn't even get DaBaby on the phone. He asked the audience, what do you call a Black trans person in the U.S.?

The response ... "A n***a!" Dave also joked his wife feared for his safety, and had bought him a handgun which had a pearl handle -- and he was worried that if he used it, someone's last words to him would be, "f****t!" So, he's hardly backing off any LGBTQ content.

On a more serious note, Dave said there'd been a lot of interest in his untitled documentary from film festivals -- which he recently screened at the Hollywood Bowl -- just as the swirling controversy over his new Netflix special, "The Closer" began. But now, he says he's being dropped from those same festivals. Dave shouted out Netflix for standing firm, and not taking down the special.

Dave went on to note that if he's canceled, there's a ton of people who clearly believe otherwise ... pointing out the sold-out show at Bridgestone Arena. Then, he laid out his terms for meeting with Netflix employees from the LGBTQ community who've been protesting.

One, he says whoever talks to him has to watch the special from start to finish; two, it has to be a time and place of his choosing; and three, they must admit Hannah Gadsby isn't funny.

That last condition is a clap back at the Australian comedian who jabbed at Dave's comedy a couple weeks ago, and ripped into Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos.

DC also says even though film festivals are abandoning him ... he's going to air his documentary film in 10 cities across America.

He ended the show by loudly asking, "Am I canceled, or not?" Listen to the applause he got ... and it seems like he has a very clear answer.

Bill Maher Defending Chappelle Doesn't Make You Transphobic

Published | Updated

Bill Maher unsurprisingly leaned in hard Friday night, defending Dave Chappelle, saying embracing Dave's latest Netflix special does not make someone transphobic.

The "Real Time" host was jawboning with Andrew Yang and NYT opinion writer John McWhorter, and on this one, all 3 were in lockstep ... all saying they support the LGBTQ community but also standing firm on Dave's right of commentary.

Maher's central point -- there is not one true opinion about anything, and he referenced the view of one of those outraged by Chappelle ... someone who said there are not two sides to this controversy.

102021_netflix_protest_kal_2 10/20/21
WALKING OUT

Maher didn't mention Chappelle said he's open to having a conversation with members of the trans community to hear them out. The reality is this ... some people in the trans community are not only hurt by Chappelle's "The Closer" ... they believe it engenders hatred and even violence.

Yang chimed in with this ... it's a comedian's job to entertain and to make us think, but goes on to suggest no one believes the role of a comedian is to tell us what and how to think. Some members of the trans community, however, say whether a comedian tells people what to think or not ... they still have an influence.

The centerpiece of the discussion is about people on both sides feeling like there's only one side to any argument. McWhorter, who wrote the book, 'Woke Racism,' suggests this type of thinking has become a religion of intolerance. He also says believing in the notion of absolute right or wrong is simplistic, childlike thinking.

Maher ended with outrage over an NPR story that claimed Chappelle was using his "white privilege" to excuse his homophobia and transphobia.

A.J. Brown Pondering Chipotle Deal Despite Food Poisoning ... I Won't Eat It Though!!!

Published | Updated

NFL star A.J. Brown says there might be some good to come out of his food poisoning disaster ... telling reporters Friday he could land a deal with Chipotle over it all.

The Tennessee Titans receiver revealed Chipotle has reached out to him after he claimed that some bad food from the restaurant gave him serious issues prior to, during and after his game against the Bills on Monday night.

And, in their talks, Brown said there has been some initial discussion with the company about "possibly doing something with me."

Brown -- despite saying he felt like hell over the food -- seemed interested in signing on ... though he made it clear there's no way he'll do a deal that requires him to consume the product again.

"I don't know," he said of the potential pact. "I'm not eating it, though. No, sir!"

Brown did say Chipotle was trying to remedy the situation, asking him which location he ate at so they could presumably fix any future issues.

Deal or no deal ... Brown reiterated he'll never eat ANY type of fast food again following the whole ordeal, saying, "The way I was feeling guys, I'm telling you, no fast food for me."

What's interesting ... Brown actually had his best game of the year while dealing with the illness, going off for 7 catches and 91 yards against Buffalo.

Can ya imagine what he'll do this week sans food poisoning? Heads up, Chiefs!

Shar Jackson 'Celebrity Exorcism' in Haunted Mansion ... Way Scarier Than We Expected!!!

Published | Updated

Shar Jackson's full up on chills, screams and terror for this Halloween after observing -- and surviving -- a real-life exorcism inside one of Hollywood's most infamous haunted homes.

The former "Moesha" star signed on for the experience, which was filmed for a special called, "Celebrity Exorcism." Shar was joined by "Full House" star Jodie Sweetin, ex-NBA star Metta World Peace ... and an actual exorcist.

The foursome went inside L.A.'s Rosenheim Mansion, where "American Horror Story" famously filmed. Shar told us on "TMZ Live," they actually had to get training before entering the home ... which has a dark history of murder, suicide and torture.

Yes, there's apparently a supernatural boot camp, which Shar says was intended to steady their nerves before the exorcism. It's pretty debatable whether the training did a damn thing, based on what Shar says here.

We know this ... never count on a 6'7" NBA champ to protect you from spirits or demons. Check out Shar's account of what went down in the mansion. Sorry, Metta ... some ghost stories just gotta be told!!!

"Celebrity Exorcism" is available now on FOX's free streaming service, Tubi.

Dave Chappelle No One From Netflix Asked Him for Meeting, Despite Claim

Published | Updated
UPDATE

6:22 PM PT -- Chappelle's rep tells TMZ ... "Dave stands by his art: No more jokes about transgenders until we can all laugh together. The streets are talking and Dave is listening. At some point, when everyone is open, I’m sure the communities will come together."

Dave Chappelle's camp says no one from Netflix has approached Chapelle or his team about setting up a meeting or conversation ... which is the opposite of what the woman who organized the Netflix walkout claims.

The comedian's rep tells TMZ ... Dave would be open to dialogue if folks from Netflix actually reach out to him for a discussion.

THE CONVERSATION ISN'T OVER

As we reported ... Ashlee Marie Preston says she invited Dave to come to the table to talk about the damage she and others believe he's inflicted on the LGBTQ+ community, but she said, "Dave chose not to show up."

Dave's camp tells us they're unsure why Ashlee is making those claims ... they say she NEVER reached out to him. He's not against open dialogue with any group, as he points out in his Netflix special jokes.

Dave also makes this point in his special ... empathy should go both ways and we should get away from cancel culture ... so a sit down would make sense.

Published | Updated

Jon Stewart has a message for everyone pissed off at Dave Chappelle -- he's asking them to pay attention to what's in his friend's heart ... as much as what comes out of his mouth.

We got Jon as he was leaving Capitol Hill, and asked for his take on the beef between Chappelle and Netflix employees who staged a walkout Wednesday. Jon thinks there's clearly been a miscommunication, and seemed confident both sides will squash the feud ... once they start talking.

The reason he's confident? Well, Jon -- who, ICYMI, is a close friend of Dave's -- says, "I know his intention is never hurtful. He's not that kinda person."

THE CONVERSATION ISN'T OVER

TMZ broke the story ... Dave's team says he's ready and willing to sit down with Netflix employees who are protesting their company continuing to stream "The Closer," Dave's latest standup special. One of those employees, Ashlee Marie Preston, claimed Dave had rejected a meeting ... but Dave's camp says he's totally down for it.

Speaking of people with good intentions ... Jon was in D.C. to continue lobbying lawmakers to approve medical benefits for military veterans who were exposed to toxic burn pits.

He's been fighting for this issue for a while now, and even made it the subject of a recent episode of his new Apple TV+ show.

Dave Chappelle I'm Partying in London ... What Netflix Controversy?!?

Published | Updated

Dave Chappelle's living it up, seemingly without a concern, 'cause here he is walking out of a packed London nightclub ... the same day Netflix employees walked out of work to protest him.

The comedian hit up the super exclusive Annabel's nightclub Wednesday night ... partying at the members-only spot while the controversy over his latest Netflix special kept swirling back home

Safe to say, Dave doesn't look like he's feeling the heat from across the pond.

WALKING OUT

As we reported, Netflix HQ was the scene of a mass protest Wednesday, when employees staged a walkout to show displeasure with the CEO's decision to keep streaming Dave's special, "The Closer."

There's been a ton of backlash over Dave's LGBTQ+ jokes, but so far, he doesn't seem bothered.

THE CONVERSATION ISN'T OVER

Ashlee Marie Preston, who helped organize the Netflix walkout, says she's invited Dave to have a conversation about the harm she and others believe he's inflicted onto the LGBTQ+ community, but claims he's ghosted them.

Looks like it's going to be hard to reach Dave for now -- he's busy playing sold-out shows and enjoying the nightlife in London ... where they don't seem nearly as heated up about controversy.
