Mark Curry

... Steph Curry's Gonna Whoop Dat ASS

5/31/2015 12:25 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

LeBron James won't be "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper" anytime soon ... 'cause the star of the '90's sitcom Mark Curry tells TMZ Sports the KING has NO CHANCE against his Warriors in the NBA Finals.

Mark was at LAX when we asked the Oakland native if he's scared his hometown Warriors' championship run is in peril now that they're matched up with the Cavs -- and LeBron -- in the NBA Finals.

Check out the clip -- not only is Mark not afraid of LeBron ... he's straight up CALLING HIM OUT ... saying that Steph Curry and the boys from the Bay are gonna smack the crown right off Bronny's head (basketball wise).

Be careful, Mark ... don't count your confetti just yet.

President Obama

J.R. Smith Can't Outshoot Steph Curry

5/28/2015 10:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
breaking news

0528_OBAMA_GETTYPresident Obama just took a stand on the NBA Finals ... saying there's no way J.R. Smith has a chance to outshoot Steph Curry ... despite the fact Smith has been ON FIRE in the playoffs.

Obama went to Twitter to answer some questions ... when someone wrote:

"Can JR Smith out shoot Steph Curry and lead the Cavs to a championship?"

Obama's response -- "jr smith having a great season but the heart of the Cavs is Lebron. And no one can outshoot Curry - maybe Korver if wide open."

So far, no response from Smith ... but we're guessing it's coming.

Steph Curry's Daughter

Hijacks Press Conference Again

... Sings Big Sean Song

5/28/2015 7:48 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Best video of the day.

Steph Curry's adorable daughter, Riley, stole the show at the Warriors post-game press conference -- AGAIN -- and this time, she capped off her performance by singing some Big Sean into the mic.

Watch the video ... just when you think it can't get any better, Riley kicks it up a notch.

Remember when those reporters complained that she was detrimental to the press conference process?

Yeah, screw those people.

If Golden State Beats Houston

... I'll Supply Victory Booze!

5/27/2015 5:26 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0527-e40-warriors-game-INSTAGRAM-01There could be a slurricane heading for Oakland ... 'cause rap legend E-40 says if the Golden State Warriors squad wins the NBA title, they'll get UNLIMITED booze from his winery for the rest of the year!!!

FYI -- E-40 is a major player in the booze biz ... he's the owner of the Earl Stevens Selections wine company ... and also puts out the "Slurricane" cocktail drink.

He's also a HUGE Warriors fan ... and made the team the following offer:

"If they win the Western Conference I will supply them with a celebration toast with Slurricane."

"If they win the NBA Finals, the whole team will get as many bottles of my Mangoscato wine from Earl Stevens Selections as they want until next season begins."

Mr. 40 adds, "I am very confident they are going to bring the title back home and do it for the YAH AREA!!!! We won’t stop 'til we get a ring!"

NBA Not Banning Kids

After 2-Year-old Hijacks Presser

5/20/2015 2:35 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The NBA is NOT giving in to the reporters griping about Steph Curry's adorable daughter -- telling TMZ Sports there are NO immediate plans to ban kids from postgame pressers.

2-year-old Riley Curry stole the show Tuesday night when Steph brought her to the podium following Golden State's Game 1 victory over the Houston Rockets ... and she hammed it up like a champ!

Several members of the media bitched that Riley's antics made it difficult for reporters to do their jobs ... including two big shots from ESPN -- Brian Windhorst and Skip Bayless.

But we spoke with NBA Sr. VP of Communications Tim Frank who tells us there is no current policy against players bringing their kids to the podium ... and there are no plans to change it, despite the criticism.

By the way, we also reached out to multiple children's talent agencies who tell us they LOVED Riley -- and think she displayed real "star quality" last night.

Just sayin' ...

Floyd Mayweather

Entourage Member In Altercation with Woman

5/14/2015 11:32 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0514-floyd-mayweather-warriors-game-USA-TODAY-SPORTS-02A male member of Floyd Mayweather's entourage was involved in an altercation with a woman at the Golden State Warriors playoff game last night ... after the woman allegedly struck him with a "Thunder Stick" ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Sources connected to the Golden State Warriors confirm there was a "mini-altercation" that took place between the two involving one of those inflatable noisemakers that fans bang together during a game.

Before the incident, Mayweather had been booed loudly at the stadium when they showed him on the jumbotron ... and we're told at least one person continued to jeer even after Floyd was off the screen.

Multiple witnesses who were at the Oracle Arena tell us the woman was heckling Floyd and his crew -- but things escalated when she used one of her "Thunder Sticks" on a member of The Money Team.

People in Floyd's camp insist the entourage member did NOT react physically to the incident ... and never hit the woman -- but he was VERY upset.

We spoke with a rep for the Oakland Police Department who tells us, "We do have record of an incident that occurred at about 9:45 PM at the Oracle Arena regarding a mutual combat battery which occurred between a man and a woman."

"Neither party wished to press charges against the other, nobody was arrested and no injuries were sustained."

Steph Curry

Buy Your Dad An MVP Dinner

... Says NBA Commish

5/5/2015 6:38 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Before his teammates, before his coach, there's ONE MAN Steph Curry should take to a celebratory dinner to thank for winning the NBA MVP ... his famous father ... so says NBA Commish Adam Silver

Silver was out in Washington D.C. yesterday, hours after the league announced Curry had won the award -- and explained why when it comes to "thank you" dinners ... it should always be family first.

Plus, Steph's father is ex-NBA star Dell Curry -- who Silver says is part of "NBA royalty" -- and credits him for helping Steph develop into a superstar.

The good news for Curry ... with the massive contract he'll eventually sign, he can afford to buy EVERYONE food.

Karrueche Tran

I'm Not Dating Klay Thompson

'I Don't Even Know Who That Is'

4/1/2015 6:38 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Chris Brown's ex-GF Karrueche Tran is not rebounding with an NBA superstar -- telling TMZ Sports the rumors about her and Klay Thompson are complete B.S.

There were rumblings that Tran hooked up with the Golden State Warriors shooting guard recently -- after he had been pursuing her for months.

But yesterday in L.A.,  Miss Tran not only shot down the rumors -- but took a dig at Thompson ... dropping the "I don't even know who that is" line.

FYI -- Klay signed a $70 million contract back in November.

Maybe you should learn the guy's name.

NBA's Mark Jackson

... He's a Terrible Commish

1/24/2015 11:52 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
Deflate-gate -- or anything like Deflate-gate -- would NEVER happen in the NBA ... because Adam Silver doesn't SUCK like Roger Goodell ... so says ex-NBA coach Mark Jackson.

The former Golden State Warriors head coach strongly believes the issues in the NFL trickle down from horrible leadership -- and says the buck ultimately stops with Goodell.

"The issue is how poorly the Commissioner and the league is handling the entire situation [Deflate-gate]," Jackson says ... "It's been a horrible year."

"I think they're doing a bad job as far as leadership in the National Football League."

Jermaine O'Neal

3/25/2014 7:06 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
College ain't for everybody ... so says NBA star Jermaine O'Neal who tells TMZ Sports he has absolutely NO REGRETS about skipping school to go straight to the pros.

Of course, O'Neal -- who was leaving Mr. Chow with his wife -- went to the league back in '96, before the NBA implemented a rule requiring players to be 1 year out of high school to sign with a team.

And get this ... Jermaine says he doesn't watch the NCAA tournament either -- but it's not because he has no alma mater to pull for, it's because the competition to just too weak for his taste.

"The level of play isn't the same like it was 4 or 5 years ago."

NBA Legends Reunited

For Frozen Yogurt

9/8/2013 11:42 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
Ex-Golden State Warriors Chris Mullin and Mitch Richmond took it to the hole yesterday in L.A. -- the holes on their faces ... and we got video of their frozen yogurt get-together.

The two basketball stars were hanging outside of Menchies Frozen Yogurt in Calabasas and told us they're "friends for life" who kick it all the time.

Check out the video to hear their thoughts on modern day basketball and the perks of retirement.

Now, excuse us for a sec ... we're going on a fro-yo run.

NBA Star David Lee

NBA Drug Testing Is

'Very Thorough'

8/29/2013 8:55 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
082913_david_lee_launchGolden State Warriors star David Lee tells TMZ ... he thinks the NBA drug testing policy is rock solid -- and believes the reason only 1 guy has tested positive for hard drugs since 2000 is because the players are simply staying clean.

Lee was leaving Hooray Henry's nightclub in L.A. last night when we asked about the drug culture in the NBA -- specifically the statistic that the ONLY person who tested positive for a drug harder than weed in the past 13 years is Chris "Birdman" Andersen.

"I can tell you [the NBA is] very thorough with their testing," Lee told us.

As we reported, multiple NBA sources tell us players have found a loophole in the NBA drug testing policy -- because they're only tested 4 times a year, and after the 4th test "It's like Christmas Day."

But Lee disagrees ... explaining, "Testing is very thorough and very random  ... so it's very difficult to try to do that kind of stuff to avoid it."
