NFL Calls 'Fake News' on Trump We're Not Making Players Stand!

Published | Updated

The NFL says Donald Trump is WRONG by tweeting that Commish Roger Goodell is forcing players to stand for the national anthem ... claiming POTUS completely misunderstood Goodell's message.

FYI, Goodell had sent a letter to NFL owners this week saying league officials "believe that everyone should stand" for the anthem -- but said nothing about implementing a rule about it.

Fast-forward to Wednesday morning when Trump tweeted, "It is about time that Roger Goodell of the NFL is finally demanding that all players STAND for our great National Anthem-RESPECT OUR COUNTRY."

But the NFL says Trump is off base -- issuing a new statement in response to the President's tweet.

"Commentary this morning about the Commissioner's position on the Anthem is not accurate," the league said, specifically referencing Trump.

"As we said yesterday, there will be a discussion of these issues at the owners meeting next week. The NFL is doing the hard work of trying to move from protests to progress, working to bring people together."

So far, Trump's tweet is still at the top of his Twitter page.

Harvey Weinstein's wife has announced she's leaving his ass.

"I have chosen to leave my husband," Georgina Chapman announced in a statement to People ...citing the horrible sexual harassment and assault allegations against her husband.

"My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions."

41-year-old Chapman -- co-founder and designer of the Marchesa high-end clothing line -- has been married to Harvey since 2007. They have two young children together.

"Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time."

Harvey had previously told the media he believed Georgina stood by him "100%."

Wrong.

Gwyneth Paltrow Claims Weinstein Made Moves on Her And Brad Pitt Confronted Him

Published | Updated

Gwyneth Paltrow says Harvey Weinstein got sexually aggressive with her and her then-boyfriend Brad Pitt confronted the movie mogul.

Gwyneth told the New York Times the incident happened in the mid-'90s when she was 22 years old. Weinstein had just cast her in a star-making role in the movie "Emma." She says she had a meeting scheduled with Weinstein at the Peninsula Beverly Hills Hotel.

Paltrow says she was in a hotel suite with Weinstein when he placed his hands on her and suggested they head to the bedroom. Paltrow says she immediately left and said to herself, "I thought you were my Uncle Harvey."

She says she confided in Brad Pitt and he approached Weinstein at a movie premiere and told him never to touch her again.

Paltrow says Weinstein later called her and screamed at her for a long time and she feared she was going to lose the movie role.

Harvey Weinstein Recorded 'I'm Gonna Take a Shower' ... 'You Sit There, Have a Drink'

Published | Updated

The Harvey Weinstein scandal just got exponentially worse -- he was caught on tape asking a model to watch him shower ... and the recording was just released.

The New Yorker put out the audio Tuesday in a new bombshell report with women -- including actress Asia Argento -- claiming the Hollywood producer committed rape and sexual assault -- far more serious than just the alleged chronic harassment reported by The New York Times.

The new report also includes audio of Weinstein captured by a Filipina-Italian model named Ambra Battilana Gutierrez as part of a 2015 NYPD sting operation ... where you hear Weinstein beg the woman to come in his room and watch him shower ... to her great displeasure.

He also admits to groping her breast and saying "I'm used to that" ... promising he won't do it again if she just comes inside. He eventually dismisses her when she refuses ... for like the 10th time.

The NYPD was reportedly ready to arrest Weinstein for his conduct, but there wasn't enough to charge him. According to a statement from the Manhattan DA's Office ... they would have prosecuted Weinstein in 2015 if they could have, but "the audio was insufficient to prove a crime."

Weinstein's already been fired from his own company ... only time will tell what else happens to him now.

NAACP Slams Jerry Jones 'Tone-Deaf and Unconstitutional'

Published | Updated

The NAACP is furious with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones -- claiming his comments about sitting players who "disrespect the flag" are tone-deaf and misinformed.

Tony Covington -- a former NFL safety who's now an exec with the NAACP -- issued a statement on behalf of the organization blasting Jones.

"Jerry Jones’ comments are more than tone-deaf, more than misinformed and misguided -- they are a public commitment by an NFL owner to violate his players’ Constitutional right to free speech -- one of the principles on which our nation was founded."

Covington continued ... "They are proof that athletes like Colin Kaepernick who have quietly and peacefully used their platform to protest violence against communities of color do so at their own peril."

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People says it has reached out to NFL commish Roger Goodell for a private meeting "in order to determine how he can best protect his players."

"We hope that he will work with us and the Players’ Association to forge this critical path forward."

Josh Gordon Baylor Coach Helped Me Cheat Drug Tests (Update)

Published | Updated

9:59 AM PT -- Baylor has now issued a statement in the wake of Gordon's comments saying:

"Josh Gordon was a football student-athlete from 2009 until 2011 at which time he was suspended indefinitely and ultimately left the program."

"None of the football staff from this timeframe are currently employed by Baylor. As such, we decline to comment further."

Suspended Cleveland Browns star Josh Gordon says a Baylor football coach helped him beat the drug testing system in college ... revealing he was given bottles of detox to clean his system.

Gordon opened up about his serious drug issues for the first time in a mini-documentary for "Uninterrupted" on Tuesday ... saying he's had experiences with Xanax, cocaine, weed and codeine.

The 26-year-old -- who had completed 70 days of his most recent rehab stint at the time the doc was filmed -- says he was taught how to pass drug tests after getting suspended for weed in 2010.

"That was my first experience with, like, getting over on the system and the authority not really being serious because it was kind of being guided by someone who was employed by the university."

Gordon says he eventually failed another drug test in 2011 after he ran out of detox drinks.

There's a lot more to the 13-minute doc ... Gordon talks about taking rehab seriously this time, his 2-year-old daughter, and his relationship with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

POPPIN' BOTTLES

Forget the Gatorade bath, the L.A. Dodgers hit Cody Bellinger with a TRASH CAN downpour Monday during their NLDS sweep celebration.

Unclear what was in the trash can ... maybe beer, maybe champagne, melted ice? Who cares -- it was awesome.

And after Yasiel Puig and Kenley Jansen doused the rook, it got even crazier.

Highlights included:

- Belly sprayin' champagne straight up Kenta Maeda's nose

- Kenley strappin' on the goggles before a team-wide bottle-poppin'

- Clayton Kershaw yellin' like a maniac ... and manager Dave Roberts declaring them the best damn team in baseball ('cause who cares about jinxes, right?)

Congrats!

ESPN's Josina Anderson Fires Back at Trump ... Stop Attacking Jemele!

Published | Updated

One of Jemele Hill's ESPN colleagues says she's sick and tired of Donald Trump's attacks on the "SportsCenter" host ... and is publicly calling for POTUS to back off.

Josina Anderson -- an NFL sideline reporter/insider -- tweeted, "Stop attacking our colleague Jemele Hill, any other journalists or media entities. We are doing our work."

Trump had previously tweeted that Hill was responsible for "tanking" ratings on the sports network -- this after she was hit with a 2-week suspension for comments about Jerry Jones.

Josina and Jemele are pretty tight off the air -- and it's clear Josina is upset with how things are going down.

FYI, Lindsay Czarniak‏ -- who also works at ESPN -- voiced her feelings about Hill's suspension on Monday saying, "The suspension of my friend @jemelehill is sad and disappointing on a number of levels."

Texas Tech University Shooter Arrested After Killing Campus Officer

8:15 PM PT -- Police found the shooter still on campus and took him alive. According to campus police the incident began with a welfare check on a student. Officers say they found drugs and drug paraphernalia, and took the student, Hollis Daniels, into custody.

While he was at the police station, cops say Daniels pulled a gun and shot and killed an officer. It's unclear if the gun was his or belonged to an officer.

6:54 PM PT -- A campus police officer has been shot and killed. A SWAT team is currently looking for the shooter, who is described as 6 feet tall, 140 lbs with red hair and blue eyes wearing a white T and blue jeans. He reportedly fled in a vehicle.

Texas Tech University is currently on lockdown as an active shooter is reportedly on the loose.

The university's Twitter account tweeted a warning to students and faculty late Monday saying there was a shooting at the TTU Police Department, and that the shooter was at large. They also told people on campus to take shelter.

The reported shooting comes on the heels of the Vegas massacre, where shooter Stephen Paddock gunned down more than 50 people and left hundreds more injured.

Astros' Josh Reddick Busts Out American Flag Speedo ... Locker Room Turn-Up

Another huge win for the Houston Astros, another chance for Josh Reddick to pay tribute to Old Glory on his crotch.

Reddick rocked his legendary American flag skivvies (again) for the Astros' post-game turn-up after eliminating the Red Sox in the ALDS on Monday ... bustin' out the Red, White & Blue for some champagne showers.

Everyone from Justin Verlander to Dallas Keuchel celebrated the 5-4 comeback win to close out the series ... but (thankfully) no one else stripped to their stars and stripes.

Harvey Weinstein Save My Ass! Begged Execs for Support

Published | Updated

Harvey Weinstein made a failed attempt to save his job in the 11th hour, firing off an email to other studio execs and asking them to back him in his time of need.

Weinstein's email said, "My board is thinking of firing me. All I'm asking, is let me take a leave of absence and get into heavy therapy and counseling." He added ... "A lot of the allegations are false as you know but given therapy and counseling as other have done, I think I'd be able to get there."

As we reported, The Weinstein Co. fired its head honcho Sunday after the New York Times story alleging he'd sexually harassed employees, actresses and others for decades. It seems the letters of support were never sent, or simply weren't persuasive enough.

The Hollywood Reporter says Ron Meyer and Jeffery Katzenberg were among the recipients of the email.

Weinstein laid it on thick though ... "I am desperate for your help. Just give me the time to have therapy. Do not let me be fired."

Kodak's facing up to 30 years in prison if convicted.

Jemele Hill Suspended By ESPN Over Jerry Jones Tweets

Published | Updated

ESPN has suspended "SportsCenter" anchor Jemele Hill for 2 weeks -- after she "violated social media guidelines" by encouraging people upset with Jerry Jones to boycott his sponsors.

Hill was reacting to the Dallas Cowboys owners' statement that any players who "disrespect the flag" will not play for his team.

"If you strongly reject what Jerry Jones said, the key is his advertisers. Don't place the burden squarely on the players," Hill tweeted.

There were more tweets -- each with the same sentiment.

ESPN clearly feels Hill crossed the line and hit her with a 2-week suspension.

"Jemele Hill has been suspended for two weeks for a second violation of our social media guidelines," ESPN says.

"She previously acknowledged letting her colleagues and company down with an impulsive tweet. In the aftermath, all employees were reminded of how individual tweets may reflect negatively on ESPN and that such actions would have consequences. Hence this decision."

Hill had been in hot water before ... after calling Donald Trump a "white supremacist."

'American Horror Story' Cuts Mass Shooting Scene After Vegas Murders

Published | Updated

The producers of "American Horror Story: Cult" just announced they made major cuts to the opening scene depicting heavy gun violence in light of the Vegas mass shooting ... a scene we obtained.

FX Network said Monday it has "chosen to make substantial edits to the opening scene of tomorrow night's episode. This opening, which was filmed two months ago and which portrays an occurrence of gun violence that has sadly become all too common in our country, contains a sequence that some viewers might find traumatic."

The move comes just days after TMZ broke the story the show had a huge decision on its hands -- whether or not to air the crowd-ambush scene eerily similar to the Vegas shooting that killed 58 people and injured over 500 at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

Producers added that "only the edited version of the episode will air" on FX but the unedited version of the episode will be available on viewers' video-on-demand feature.

Marshawn Lynch Crushin' Cars in Army Tank ... for Reality Show

Published | Updated

Marshawn Lynch is going TANK MODE for his new reality show ... strappin' into an army-grade Abrams to crumple cars for fun.

And that's just a sample of the wildness Marshawn gets into for his new reality series "No Script," which debuts this week on Facebook.

In a 1-minute trailer, Lynch also does donuts in a race car, tries indoor AND outdoor skydiving and even takes B.P. with a damn sledgehammer.

But we think the best part was his Battlefield Vegas cameo ... where Beast Mode rides shotgun while a tank commander straight-up bulldozes a sedan. (Bonus: Marshawn is munching on a toothbrush for some reason.)

Dental hygiene is important.

Dolphins' Chris Foerster BLOWBACK Resigns After Cocaine Video

Miami Dolphins offensive line coach Chris Foerster has resigned -- less than 24 hours after video surfaced showing him blowing lines with a $20 bill.

"I am resigning from my position with the Miami Dolphins and accept full responsibility for my actions," Foerster said in a statement.

"I want to apologize to the organization and my sole focus is on getting the help that I need with the support of my family and medical professionals."

The Dolphins also issued a statement saying, "We were made aware of the video late last night and have no tolerance for this behavior."

"After speaking with Chris this morning, he accepted full responsibility and we accepted his resignation effective immediately."

"Although Chris is no longer with the organization, we will work with him to get the help he needs during this time."

Foerster was one of the highest paid assistant coaches in the NFL -- reportedly earning between $2.5 and $3 MILLION per year.

8:28 AM PT -- Dolphins head coach, Adam Gase, just addressed Foerster's resignation with the media ... saying, "it's not a good situation. It wasn't something that you expect."

"It's not fun, especially when you're close to somebody. But you gotta take the next step and move on, 'cause we're gonna play on Sunday."
