Zac Efron was either a noble conservationist or a reckless yahoo when he dove with a tiger shark.

Shark experts could not be more divided. Naturalist Juan Oliphant, who set up the dive in Hawaii with Zac and Adam Divine, tells TMZ the point was to show the beauty of sharks so people will think twice before poaching them for fin soup.

But shark photog Jeff Kurr felt Zac's dive was not only reckless, it could actually make sharks even more hated and feared. He says tiger sharks are extremely dangerous and unpredictable.

Oliphant says Zac and Adam were extremely respectful and the shark was "mellow and uninterested in people," but Kurr says grabbing a fin is an aggressive invite to a deadly attack.

FYI ... in Hawaii, tiger shark attacks outnumber great white attacks.

Drake earned his official Compton 'hood pass -- a far cry from his Degrassi High hall pass days -- all because he was rolling with The Game.

Game played ambassador ... taking Drake to his hometown to shoot a music video for their song "8 More Than 92," which will be on Game's new album, "The Documentary 2." Aside from the video shoot, we're told Game thought this was a great opportunity to introduce Drake to the real side of town.

Let's face it ... the tough streets of Toronto ain't that tough, and no one's ever mistaken Drizzy for a gangsta. But Compton welcomed him with open arms ... and Drake posed with all the homies, even the ones throwing up gang signs.

The next "Big Brother" HoH could be a guy from A&M ... 'cause one of the contestants is a former Aggies football player -- who also happens to have a pretty insane physique.

The ex-football player is 23-year-old Clay Honeycutt -- a former defensive back for Texas A&M who graduated in 2014.

We spoke with Clay's dad Lynn -- who also played for the Aggies -- and he told us he thinks Clay's football background will give him an edge on the competition.

"There's a wide diversity of people in the cast and football will help him because he has always gotten along with different groups of people. He's had all kinds of different roommates, so I think that will help him."

One of those people was Johnny Manziel ... who played at A&M from 2011 to 2013.

Ex-NBA ref Tim Donaghy tells TMZ Sports he owes his life to the leader of a white prison gang ... saying he would've been murdered behind bars if not for their protection.

Donaghy was infamously sentenced to 15 months of hard time back in '08 for his role in an NBA gambling scandal. While locked up, the ex-ref says he was brutally attacked by a fellow inmate.

"I was a target. There was a guy who took a paint roller extension pole and blasted me in the knee a few times," Donaghy tells TMZ Sports. "I had to have surgery to relieve the pain when I got out of prison."

The Donaghy says after the attack, he needed to find protection if he was going to survive his stint ... so he started to hang out with the only group that offered to have his back.

"Whites run together, blacks run together, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Italians."

Donaghy says the white gang wanted to initiate him with a prison tattoo -- involving a pin and ink from a pen -- but he managed to talk the guys into "option #2" ... a shaved head.

"It was a matter of me surviving, and getting the f**k outta there" ... Donaghy says.

T.D. says he owes his life to one of the leaders ... a guy nicknamed "St. Pete" ... "Thank God I teamed up with him. He saved my life. There's no doubt about it, I never would've survived if it weren't for St. Pete."

They've even maintained a relationship after prison ... "We've stayed in touch. Every now and then we'll talk on the phone. We even got lunch once."

The Chicago Blackhawks brought a 6-pack to the Stanley Cup celebration -- with defenseman Johnny Oduya ripping his shirt off in the middle of a nightclub ... in a crazy celebrity turn up!

Oduya -- along with teammates Corey Crawford, Brandon Saad, Kris Versteeg and Scott Darling -- hit up The Mid nightclub in Chicago ... where they used Lord Stanley's favorite piece of silverware to sip expensive bubbly, like so many have before.

Kanye West isn’t the biggest "Frozen" fan in the world and the ice princess onstage at Disneyland gave him a cold stare for it.

Kanye must have been exhausted from walking around the park for North West’s birthday -- 'cause he caught some major ZZZZZs during the "Frozen" sing-along show. The problem for Daddy West is he's pretty high profile.

A Disney employee noticed him, umm ... resting his eyes, and later said on FB and Twitter ... “when you perform for the Kardashian family for North’s birthday…and Kanye sleeps through the whole show.”

Our park sources tell us the employee was the woman who played Elsa. We're also told Kanye passed out for the entire performance, which is only 25 minutes. So, kinda perfect time for a nap.

Bottom line here ... Kanye's just like most other dads.

When Dwyane Wade hit the books at Harvard last week, he probably had an edge on his fellow classmates -- 'cause one of the topics was his BFF LeBron James ... TMZ Sports has learned.

FYI -- Wade took part in a 4-day course called "The Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports" ... which required him to live on campus, eat at the student dining hall and basically study his ass off for 4 straight days.

We're told Wade didn't coast through the course -- several Harvard faculty members tell us D-Wade was very impressive and had one hell of a work ethic.

Wade and his classmates were required to brush up on case studies on several high profile people and sports teams ... including Beyonce, Real Madrid and LeBron.

NFL superstar Brandon Marshall took the course last year ... and came back to speak to the 51 students in the class this year -- and today, he told "TMZ Hollywood Sports" what it takes to make the grade.

It's no joke ... Marshall says the course is super tough and super competitive ... but he also told us the #1 thing athletes should take away from the class.

Drake just kicked off summer with an INSANE celebrity-packed pool party at his L.A. mansion Sunday -- with HUGE stars like Kanye, The Game ... and even Amber Rose!!

But before you get any ideas ... no, we're told Kanye and Amber did NOT interact.

But they did have a blast -- partying on Drake's massive property with somewhere between 500 and 600 of Drake's closest friends.

As for food ... typical BBQ fare ... burgers, dogs, wings and mac and cheese. There was also a full bar and a separate bar just for doing shots.

Jessica Castro just got a restraining order against Ryan De Nino, the husband she met on the show "Married at First Sight," claiming he had been threatening and menacing, but the last straw was when he told her, "I plan on killing you and your family."

The couple married in December, not having known each other even for a day. Producers of the A&E reality show paired them after psychological testing for compatibility.

The show chronicled the marriage for 6 weeks, and they've been living privately ever since, but not without drama. They reportedly had blow out fights and alleged substance abuse.

The restraining order was granted last Friday and requires Ryan to stay clear of Jessica and her family.

Jameis Winston learned the hard way ... star power stops at the shorts -- especially when trying to get into a bar with a strict PANTS ONLY dress code.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB was rejected from the Blue Martini bar in Tampa when he tried to get in Friday night while wearing a pair of shorts ... in front of a sign that said, "Dress code strictly enforced."

We spoke with one of the managers ... who tells us, "It was nothing personal. He was not allowed inside because he did not meet the standards of the dress code."

NeNe was in Atlantic City scouting this week for retail space at The Playground ... a revamped oceanfront shopping center. We're told NeNe plans to sell her own clothing line -- NeNe by NeNe Leakes (clever) -- as well as other brands.

Our sources say ... in addition to A.C., NeNe is eyeing locations in New York, Los Angeles and Georgia. We're told planning is in early stages and she hasn't inked any deals yet.

Former action star Ernie Reyes Jr. -- who famously played Keno in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II" -- is "fighting for his life" after suffering from kidney failure ... this according to his family.

Reyes Jr. was huge back in the day -- starring as Tai in "The Last Dragon," Prince Tarn in "Red Sonja" ... and he was the main character in "Surf Ninjas."

He later transitioned into MMA -- and went 3-0 in Strikeforce.

Now, 43-year-old Reyes Jr. is hoping for a kidney transplant after his own began to fail back in March. Since then, he's been in and out of the hospital in Texas ... and his eyesight is failing.

Ernie's sister tells TMZ Sports ... Reyes is in the process of getting on a transplant list -- but in the meantime, he's been receiving dialysis treatments 3 times per week.

We're told the family has set up a fundraising page to help with medical bills and several folks from his films and TV shows -- like stunt coordinator pals James Lew from "Rush Hour 2" and Andy Cheng from “The Rundown” -- have pitched in.

Rick Ross was just busted in his Bentley which apparently reeked of marijuana.

Ross was rolling along in Fayette County, GA when cops pulled him over for tinted windows. Cops say when they got close to Ross' car they smelled pot, and that gave them the right to search the fancy ride.

Cops tell us the search was fruitful, producing five "marijuana cigarettes" -- enough to hook up Ricky Rozay and take him to the pokey.

This is Ross' second pot arrest. So far, no comment from the Bawse.

Chelsea Handler's ears -- or some other body part -- must be burning ... 50 Cent met another guy who used to bang her, and it wasn't the least bit awkward. Kidding, it sounds totally awkward.

According to our sources, 50 was doing an interview with a NBC show when NBC Chairman Ted Harbert came up and introduced himself and added, "I dated Chelsea Handler before you."

50 posted the pic Wednesday, writing, "Me and Ted Harbert, well this is a @chelseahandler moment. We love you girl."

Victoria Siegel was the victim of vicious cyberbullying ... which her family believes pushed her over the edge and ultimately might have led to her death.

The Siegel family says the ex-girlfriend of Victoria's boyfriend (who we're told she met in rehab) had been sending "hateful text messages" to Victoria. They say the texts were coming from the BF's phone, and our sources say it was also happening on social media.

The family says Victoria got one of the bullying texts the morning of her death, and adds ... "While we cannot be sure, [the messages] may have affected her emotional state at a time when she was emotionally vulnerable."

We're told the family does not believe Victoria intended to kill herself ... because they were taking a family cruise this week, and Victoria rushed to get her passport in time for the trip. Instead, they're leaning toward an accidental overdose ... possibly triggered by the bullying.

Paris Hilton can really pick 'em ... 'cause now she's hooked up with a self-made multi-millionaire, yacht-owning, jet-owning entrepreneur -- who happens to have a hot bod to match hers.

Paris showered on a yacht off the coast of Spain and then made out with Thomas Gross. The couple had just finished jet-skiing, so what the hell else was left to do but suck face?

Sources tell us they met in Cannes a few weeks ago, and they've been inseparable ever since -- jet-setting to Cabo, Zurich, and Ibiza ... where the 39-year-old owns a massive villa.
