Jackson Investigation Wraps Up Next Week
TMZ has learned the LAPD is on schedule to present the case against Dr. Conrad Murray to the L.A. County D.A.'s office next week.
As we first reported, LAPD detectives planned to wrap up their case and present it by the second week in October. They were waiting on some written evaluations by medical professionals who reviewed the evidence surrounding Michael Jackson's death.
Our law enforcement sources say the medical reports are in and the LAPD plans to formally present the case to the D.A. next week.
Prosecutors have been working with the LAPD for months now, so it's not as if the evidence will be a surprise.
Sources say Dr. Murray is still the sole target.
One well-placed law enforcement source says there's a "70/30 chance" the D.A. will take the case to the L.A. County Grand Jury rather than charge Murray directly.
As one source said, this could be a complicated case and a lengthy preliminary hearing wouldn't have a whole lot of upside for prosecutors. A grand jury indictment would be easy to get and it would avoid a prelim.
K-Fed's Trashy Pad -- Bad for Brit's Kids?
TMZ has obtained dozens of photos of the disgusting, filthy rental home Kevin Federline is accused of destroying -- but the real question ... how the hell could he raise his two little boys in a bona fide dump with dismantled smoke detectors and exposed electrical wiring?
The photos show the Tarzana, CA home wasn't only dirty, but extremely dangerous -- with cigarettes and glass bottles tossed all over the yard, and broken pieces of tiles and pottery right near the play area.
So the question ...

Justice Delayed for Kate -- Judge's Wife Dies
TMZ has learned the judge in the Jon and Kate Gosselin war has canceled today's hearing because of a "family emergency." Court officials tell us Judge Arthur Tilson's wife died of cancer early this morning.
The hearing will be put off until at least next week.
Here's the problem -- as of now there isn't an order in place prohibiting Jon from spending the money he's taken out of the account without Kate's consent. It would seem her lawyers will go into court and get some kind of emergency order stopping Jon from spending the loot.

K-Fed Accused of Being a Dirty Home-Wrecker
Kevin Federline is accused of being a dirty, filthy, chain-smoking, home-wrecker -- and now his allegedly trashy lifestyle could cost him more than $100,000.
It's all over the Tarzana, California home where K-Fed lived until this past May -- the people who own the pad claim Federline suddenly disappeared without paying his last 6 months in rent. But the worst part -- the owners claim Federline turned their home into a cigarette-riddled, spit-stained dump.
Now, the owners have fired off a nasty letter to the wannabe rapper, demanding $110,661 in unpaid rent and damages which include:
- Gutters full of cigarette butts and empty beer bottles
- A broken beer dispenser on the barbecue island
- Permanent spit marks on exterior paint
- Broken light covers
- Bent light posts
- Broken tiles
- Dead trees and plants due to failure to water
- Drawings all over the walls
- A room that was turned into a studio (without the owners' permission)
- Broken dishwasher ... with broken baskets
- Dismantled smoke detectors
- Front driveway oil-leak damage
- Master bathroom windows tinted (without owners' permission)
... and last but certainly not least -- the owners claim K-Fed made off without returning the GARAGE DOOR OPENER!!!
In their letter to K-Fed, the home owners have threatened to take his ass to court if he doesn't pay up ... we'll let you know if that happens.

Cops: 'Housewives' Ex Walked Away from Fight
TMZ has learned the ex-fiance of "Housewives" star Kandi Burruss was walking and talking after the fight that may have led to his death.
Initial reports made it seem like Ashley "A.J." Jewell was left for dead after the fight -- which occurred outside of a strip club in Atlanta on Friday night -- but law enforcement sources tell us this wasn't the case.
Our sources say witnesses told authorities A.J. was walking and talking after the fight -- and he didn't even take an ambulance to the hospital, instead hitching a ride with one of his friends.
Meanwhile, suspect Frederick Richardson is being held without bail and has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office tells us A.J.'s body showed evidence of a physical altercation -- and they're trying to determine the extent of those injuries while also looking to see if there "was another cause of death."
The M.E.'s Office also says contrary to other reports, there were no stab wounds found on Jewell's body.
Frederick is due back in court on October 20.

No Body Shows Up for Ed/Merv Court Case
A court case between two big celebrities was dismissed today because no one showed up for the hearing ...
... the case: Merv Griffin vs Ed McMahon.
The Griffin Group sued Ed and his wife Pamela last year -- claiming a $100,000 loan Merv gave Ed in 2005 was never repaid.
Since no one showed up to court in Santa Monica yesterday for either side, the case was tossed out ... so it looks like this one is gonna have to be settled in the Highest of Courts.

As we first reported ... in the letter, police say Ryan never admits to murdering his wife Jasmine Fiore -- but he does apologize to his family for all the pain he caused them.
The BPPD tells us nothing found on the hard drive changes their view that Jenkins is responsible for Fiore's murder.

Sports Writer Demands $5 Million for 'Shaq Vs.'
Here's a shocker -- the most powerful talent agency on the planet refused to negotiate with a man who accused them of stealing his TV show idea and giving it to Shaquille O'Neal ... so now that dude has filed a lawsuit.
It's all over the show "Shaq Vs." A sports writer named Todd Gallagher claims the William Morris Endeavor Agency stole his idea about a show in which he competes against pro athletes in different sports -- and turned it into "Shaq Vs". ... a show featuring Shaq competing against pro athletes in different sports.
Todd had fired off a letter to the agents back in August in hopes of a settlement, but they refused ... so today he filed a $5,000,000 lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court.

We're told Richie is angry at the photog and may sue him -- she thinks he intentionally rear-ended her to create some drama.

Bitter Bidder Sues over Michael Jackson Auction
A man who claims to have placed the highest bids on 170 items in a canceled Michael Jackson auction is furious he was never given the goods -- and now he wants at least $5,000,000 to ease the pain of the monumental letdown.
Richard Lapointe just filed a lawsuit against Michael Jackson's estate and Julien's Auction House -- the company that put together a massive MJ auction that was supposed to go down in April of this year. Julien's and Michael ended up butting heads over the auction -- it was eventually canceled.
In the lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Richard claims he was the only (and therefore the highest) bidder on 82 items and "may have been the highest bidder on not less than 88 additional items."
Richard claims Julien's notified him in writing on April 11 and 14 that his registration was complete and his bids had been received.
Then, on April 15, Richards claims Julien's canceled the auction "despite having accepted bids."
He's asking for a minimum of $5 million -- because he claims that's the "true market value of the items" he was bidding on.
"He called us the day the auction was canceled and told us he has been emotionally damaged, and he asked what we would do to compensate for it. If he is that emotionally damaged, he can bet on the items when they come back up for auction on November 21st. Also, he accepted the terms on the bidder form which said the auction could be canceled at any time. "

Michael Crichton's Widow Wants Millions
Michael Crichton's widow just filed a creditor's claim against his estate ... and she wants $7 million.
Sherri Alexander Crichton signed a prenup with Michael on April 22, 2005 -- which promised her $1,000,000 per year for nine years, this according to documents she filed on Friday in L.A. County Superior Court.
At the time of Michael's death last year, Sherri says she had only received $2 million.
According to the docs, the prenup stated Sherri would get the rest of the $9 mil in a lump sum if Michael died.
That leaves a $7 million balance ... and Sherri wants it stat.

CBS 'No Secrets' Policy Doesn't Apply to Dave
David Letterman may have violated CBS rules on bosses having relationships with their employees, but there's a catch -- Dave doesn't work for CBS.
CBS has guidelines on the conduct of its employees -- the Business Conduct Statement. TMZ has a copy of a provision titled "Supervisor/Subordinate Relationships." It reads:
"CBS recognizes that consenting romantic or sexual relationships may develop between a supervisor and a subordinate (whether such supervision is direct or indirect). These relationships frequently lead to complications and significant difficulties for the supervisor, the subordinate, others in the workplace, and CBS. If a consenting romantic or sexual relationship between a supervisor and a direct or indirect subordinate should develop, CBS requires the supervisor to disclose this information to his or her Company's Human Resources Department to ensure that there are no issues of actual or apparent favoritism, conflict of interest, sexual harassment, or any other negative impact on others in the work environment."
The Statement continues: "Upon being informed or learning of the existence of such a relationship, CBS will take steps that it deems appropriate to protect the workplace environment."
That said .... Dave is not an employee of CBS. He's employed by Worldwide Pants (WWP), his production company. WWP says, "We have a written policy in our employee manual that covers harassment. It is circulated to every employee every year. Dave is not in violation of our policy and no one has ever raised a complaint against him."
We do not know if WWP has a policy of requiring employees to disclose relationships with subordinates.
We contacted CBS but the company declined comment.

Jackson's Tomb -- The Changing of the Guards
For several weeks, Michael Jackson's tomb at Forest Lawn Memorial Park was under maximum, 'round-the-clock security -- but TMZ has now learned the extra protection has been "scaled back."
Sources tell us the mausoleum that houses Jackson's body was being monitored by a private security firm, hired specifically to protect MJ's grave -- but as of last week, the extra protection was nowhere to be seen.
Sources at Forest Lawn confirm the security change, but insist Jackson's resting place will still be under the constant watch of their guards, 24-hour cameras, alarms, etc.
Reps at the cemetery also mentioned there hasn't been a single suspicious incident since Jackson moved into the neighborhood.
