Kate Beckinsale Sheriff's Deputies Got Her Back and Front After Dinner

Published | Updated

Kate Beckinsale and Sarah Silverman needed some serious protection ... for the 10-foot walk from a restaurant to their cars last night -- at least someone thought so, since for some reason cops escorted them.

Two L.A. County Sheriff's deputies walked Kate ... and then Sarah ... to their vehicles outside Craig's in West Hollywood -- and there doesn't appear to be any major threat to their safety in the video.

There are about 10 paparazzi there, but that's status quo at a hotspot like Craig's.

The Sheriff's Dept. tells us it has no official record of a call for help from the restaurant ... so, it's a mystery why the deputies were there.

Fun fact: Jerry Ferrara got NO escort, but check out the clip -- he seems to be just fine when he gets to his car.

A similar scene played out last month when Sean Penn was walking out of Craig's -- but he got THREE deputies.

Chief Keef Sued For Screwing Over Cancer Charity

Published | Updated

Chief Keef screwed over breast cancer patients by bailing out of a Cleveland charity concert hours before he was supposed to go on stage ... according to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ.

In court docs, Kim Productions claims it paid Keef a $15K deposit ... to perform at the RapCure cancer benefit last June. The balance -- $10K -- was supposed to be paid at the event.

Kim Prods. claims the day before the event, Keef demanded a $2,500 advance to cover travel expenses. Kim says the money was wired ... and Keef's agent claimed Keef was on his way.

According to the lawsuit ... Keef failed to show up on time ... so the concert was cancelled and ticket holders got their money back ... which meant the charity ended up in the red.

The company is suing for $26K -- the money it paid to Keef plus the amount spent on the theater, lights, equipment, advertising and the refunded tickets.

It also includes an $88 charge for an order of chicken wings ... called in by someone on Keef's tour bus.

Diddy & Ashanti Fur-Ballin' For Late Night Grub Run

Published | Updated

Diddy was clearly overdressed during a pre-Super Bowl visit to a landmark greasy spoon in Harlem.

We're told Diddy -- and his 15-person entourage that included Ashanti and French Montana -- rolled up at around 3 am to a famous outdoor food stand called O'fishole Sea Food -- long known in the hood by its previous name -- Willie's Burgers.

After ordering at the walk-up window -- 5 orders of cheeseburgers with fries and 3 fish and chips -- we're told the group created quite the spectacle as they sat on a brick wall and chowed down.

Ashanti left a $100 tip ... on a $40 bill.

The manager tells TMZ, "Coming here is the hood thing to do."

The decent thing to do ... stop wearing fur.

Adrian Peterson Cake Delivery for My Favorite 'N-Word'

Published | Updated

Adrian Peterson was like a living, breathing genie last night ... 'cause when his "n-word" DJ Whoo Kid asked for a red velvet cake, AP made it his personal mission to deliver the baked goods.

Whoo Kid made the plea for his favorite cake on TMZ just a few days ago ... saying he'd wave his $10,000 fee if a Super Bowl MVP asked him to DJ his party and provided his favorite dessert.

Whoo Kid said if anyone could make that happen, "I'll be your n-word for the night."

Clearly, Adrian got the message ... because he rounded up an RV cake with the message, "n-word we made it" ... and presented it to the DJ at W.i.P. nightclub in NYC last night.

Now, technically, Adrian isn't a Super Bowl MVP ... but he IS an NFL regular season MVP.

So ... does that count?

We spoke to Tokya owner Roee Nahmani who tells us ... the guys were hesitant to scarf down the sushi at first, out of fear of a possible bubble gut situation ... but quickly got over it and proceeded to eat more than 100 ROLLS.

We're told the guys did booze a little bit -- drinking some Don Julio 1942 tequila, Moet Rose champagne, Ciroq vodka and Hennessey ... and toasted to the Super Bowl with every round.

Don't worry, Nahmani says things never got out of control and the guys couldn't have been nicer.

No word on Peyton Manning's whereabouts.

Dean McDermott Milking Rehab For All It's Worth

Dean left his rehab facility over the weekend for an outing -- with other patients -- and carried his own refreshment ... a healthy bottle of Kefir -- a vitamin-rich fermented milk drink.

McDermott checked himself into a treatment program in L.A. last week for "health and personal reasons" ... and apologized for "the pain" he caused his family -- an apparent reference to reports he cheated on Tori Spelling.

Published | Updated

It's the first time Smokey Bear's ever added fuel to a fire -- telling TMZ, he couldn't be more amped that Pharrell ripped off his famous hat last night at the Grammys ... which is more than we can say for Arby's.

If you didn't watch the Grammy Awards last night, you probably still saw Pharrell's insane Smokey Bear styled hat somewhere on the horizon ... and it caused a FIRESTORM on the Internet.

Obviously we didn't speak directly to Smokey Bear -- he's way too busy fighting fires -- but his rep tells us, they're ecstatic ... Pharrell's hat "is proof that Smokey is as relevant an icon today as he was 70 years ago."

Even Arby's got in on the action ... tweeting, "Hey @Pharrell, can we have our hat back?" Pharrell tweeted back, "Y'all tryna start a roast beef?"

Fun Fact: The U.S. Fire Service and The Ad Council created Smokey in 1944.

MLB Star Andrew McCutchen Pirates Settle Team Dinners WITH CREDIT CARD ROULETTE!

Published | Updated

Pittsburgh Pirates superstar Andrew McCutchen tells TMZ Sports ... just because he makes a fortune doesn't mean he pays for team dinners -- in fact, it often comes down to CREDIT CARD ROULETTE.

The reigning National League MVP (who signed a $51.5 mil contract in 2012) was in NY and told our photog he's happy to cover family 100% of the time -- and even rookies get a free meal every now and then -- but when it comes to his highly paid teammates, luck often dictates who gets stuck with the bill.

For the record, credit card roulette is super popular with athletes -- everyone gives their card to the server, who then picks one at random ... and that unlucky S.O.B. pays for the entire check, tip included.

Cutch, who recently proposed to his GF on the "Ellen" show, also admits the one downside of being engaged ... he often gets "stuck" watching his fiancee's favorite show -- the Kardashians.

Golden Tate Botched Donut Heist Made Him Better ... Says Donut Shop

Published | Updated

Seattle Seahawks star Golden Tate wouldn't be the Super Bowl caliber player he is today if not for attempted maple bar theft gone bad ... so says the owner of the donut shop Golden tried to jack.

We broke the story back in 2010 ... Tate was confronted by cops after a baker at the Top Pot donut shop in Washington caught the wide receiver trying to steal maple bars after business hours.

The 911 call was LEGENDARY -- with the baker telling the 911 operator that a "drunk" and "retarded" Tate stole her keys and some tasty donuts and wouldn't give 'em back.

Cops met up with Tate -- and the receiver was given an official warning. He later apologized and went on to form a business relationship with Top Pot.

Now, 4 years later ... we spoke with Top Pot co-founder Mark Klebeck who tells us Golden used the incident as a learning experience and matured into a better player and a better person as a result.

"I think he’s a great guy," Klebeck says ... "He was straight out of college in a big city and made some mistakes, but didn’t hurt any body."

"He’s developed into not only a great player on the field but a great personality in the community! We’re proud of Golden Tate."

Dean McDermott Accused of Royally Screwing Cooking Staff

Published | Updated

Tori Spelling is not the only one who got the shaft from Dean McDermott ... we're told he has stiffed the people who created his new cookbook, even though he got tons of money for the project.

Dean currently hosts a show in Canada -- the Canadian version of the U.S. show "Chopped" and it's doing well in no small part because of his domestic issues. So Harlequin publishing company decided to make a cookbook deal with him.

So Dean authored a book called "The Gourmet Dad" -- a personal account of a guy's guy who cooks for his family.

Sources connected with the cookbook tell TMZ ... Dean received an advance of more than $250,000 from Harlequin, but part of that money was for Dean to cover all expenses. When it came to paying the people who worked on the book, however, it was a very different story.

We're told Dean stiffed the following people:

-- Photographer ... $33,319.80
-- Food Stylist ... $14,648.74
-- Prop stylist ... $6,609.91
-- Canadian taxes ... $6,613.40

The people Dean stiffed say they've called him repeatedly and sent him emails and texts but he's blown them off.

Staffers -- many of whom work on "Chopped" -- are indignant, because they let Dean live in their homes for free during the book and show projects and fed him gratis.

Now they call him "The biggest mooch in Toronto."

The next move, we're told is a lawsuit. And they have an ace in the hole ... the photog wants an injunction, preventing Dean from using his pics until he's paid.
