Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski says there's still a chance Myles Garrett could play on Sunday against the Falcons ... this despite the Cleveland star being involved in a wild rollover crash on Monday.

Of course, there's still a very good chance Garrett could sit out the game ... but Stefanski told reporters Wednesday, "I'm not ruling anybody out on Wednesday."

"We'll kind of do what we always do," Stefanski said, "which is take in information every single day."

Garrett suffered a shoulder sprain and a bicep strain when he flipped his Porsche 911 Turbo S in Sharon Township, Ohio a few hours after Cleveland's workout on Monday. Police video showed he was also bleeding from his right hand.

But Stefanski said he's spoken to the 26-year-old defensive end recently, and "he's doing OK." The coach expected the pass rusher to return to the Browns facility on Thursday.

"I'm grateful that he's OK," Stefanski said. "We'll see him in here tomorrow."

Police say they are still investigating the cause of the accident. Sources close to Garrett, though, told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero -- he crashed the car while trying to avoid an animal in the roadway.

UPDATE

3:21 PM PT -- Myles Garrett sustained a shoulder sprain and bicep strain, minor lacerations, and some bumps and bruises during his car accident Monday afternoon, according to the Cleveland Browns.

UPDATE

The injuries are consistent with body camera footage we posted earlier today -- taken just minutes after the single-car crash -- where Garrett's seen rubbing his bicep and pointing out the area to emergency responders. MG was also bleeding at the scene.

UPDATE

Thankfully, the Browns say Myles didn't break any bones, and he cleared concussion protocol. Despite averting serious injury, the team says Garrett's status for Sunday's game against the Falcons is up in the air.

UPDATE

"Although we hope to have him back soon, his availability for Sunday's game in Atlanta will be evaluated by team doctors throughout the week."

New police video shows Myles Garrett appeared to be bleeding heavily from his right wrist following his car crash on Monday.

The footage -- captured on Medina County Sheriff's Office body cam and obtained by TMZ Sports -- reveals medical personnel was checking out the Cleveland Browns star just moments after the football player had crashed his Porsche 911 Turbo S in Ohio.

First responders can be heard in the clip asking about Garrett's bicep -- while also looking into other parts of his body.

The 26-year-old -- whose shirt was ripped and tattered -- seemed to be dazed and confused.

Eventually, medical personnel got Garrett to his feet -- and you can see in the video, blood was oozing from his wrist area.

Meanwhile, the video shows his female passenger on the ground being checked out by other first responders.

Cops say Garrett and the woman were ultimately transferred to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The caller ID'ed himself as Frank from Porsche Emergency Center ... and he told police that he was on the phone to "report a car accident for one of our customers" in Medina, Ohio.

The caller was asked if there was anyone hurt in the accident -- and he said yes, telling them that "a lady" had sustained injuries to her head. He requested for both police and EMS to go out to the scene.

The caller also told dispatch that the wreckage at the scene was gnarly.

"They flipped this thing, I do believe," he said. "They tore it up."

Cops say they eventually arrived at the scene at 2:58 PM ... and discovered a gray Porsche 911 Turbo S off the road that had significant damage to it.

Police say Garrett was ID'ed as the driver -- and he was transported to a nearby medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries. They say his female passenger was also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Cops do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident. A spokesperson for the Ohio State Highway Patrol tells us, "A blood draw for the purposes of law enforcement was not conducted due to a lack of probable cause as signs of impairment were not observed by the investigating trooper."

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday that Garrett crashed his car in an attempt to swerve out of the way of an animal on the road.

Garrett's agent, Nicole Lynn, told media outlets Monday the Cleveland Browns star did not suffer broken bones in the crash. It's unclear if he'll be available for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Cleveland Browns superstar defensive end Myles Garrett's Porsche flipped several times during a single-car wreck after practice on Monday ... but luckily, he escaped with only minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol shared the news just minutes ago ... saying 26-year-old Garrett and a passenger were transported to a nearby hospital after getting into the accident.

Cops say alcohol or other drugs did not play a factor ... and both passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

WKYC in Cleveland obtained pictures of the crash ... showing Garrett's Porsche in banged-up shape.

Judging by the wheels, the car appears to be a 911 Turbo S ... which starts around $215K. The 911 Turbo S has over 600 horsepower, does 0-60 in under 3 seconds, and has a top speed over 200 MPH.

It's unclear if weather contributed to the accident, but it was raining in Berea, Ohio on Monday ... which is where the Browns' practice facility is located.

Garrett and the Browns are coming off a big win over the rival Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday ... and he had 2 total tackles in the 29-17 matchup.

Garrett -- the #1 overall pick in the 2017 Draft out of Texas A&M -- is one of the best players in the NFL with 61.5 career sacks and 201 total tackles over 6 seasons.

We've reached out to law enforcement for more details.

The Browns travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons on Sunday ... although it's unclear if Garrett will be able to suit up.

TIME FOR A BACKUP PLAN

O.J. Simpson has a solution to the Steelers' offensive struggles, and it starts with making a change at the QB position by benching Mitchell Trubisky and starting Kenny Pickett.

Simpson broke down why the Steelers' offense seemingly stalled all night against the Browns during their Thursday Night Football game (CLE won 29-17), saying Trubisky isn't the answer under center.

"I don't see these guys being inspired by their quarterback play," Simpson said. "I don't know what Kenny Pickett is able to do, but I'm willing to bet anybody that he'll score more than four touchdowns in the next three games."

"[The] problem is Pittsburgh isn't going to win any 14-10 games. They're gonna have to score points to win, and I just don't see that happening with Trubisky."

Steelers fans have been clamoring for Pickett -- who was selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft -- after watching Trubisky struggle to move the ball against Cincy and New England.

Juice said Trubisky -- who finished the game with 207 yards and zero touchdowns -- "wasn't that bad," but the body language of his receivers concerned the disgraced HOF running back.

"It just wasn't good, especially Diontae Johnson," O.J. said.

O.J. said he didn't realize how devastating the loss of T.J. Watt -- who tore his pectoral muscle in Week 1 against the Bengals -- was to the fabric and identity of the Steelers team.

Simpson thinks Watt's absence on defense -- he could return in six weeks possibly -- coupled with their lackluster offense is going to make head coach Mike Tomlin's job harder this season.

Cleveland Browns Fan Arrested For Throwing Bottle At Jimmy Haslam ... During Game

UPDATE

11:56 AM PT -- TMZ Sports has obtained Miller's mug shot.

UPDATE

A fan who was accused of hurling a bottle at Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam during the team's loss to the New York Jets on Sunday was arrested ... TMZ Sports has learned.

According to police documents, 51-year-old Jeffrey Miller allegedly threw the bottle at Haslam just moments after New York scored a touchdown with just seconds left in the game.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero captured the incident on video -- appearing to show the bottle hit Haslam right in the leg as he was walking toward a tunnel at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland.

In Pelissero's footage, you can see 68-year-old Haslam was startled at first ... but then he seemed to be enraged -- and pointed to where he believed the bottle was thrown from.

Police say after security viewed video surveillance of the scene, they identified Miller as the bottle thrower. They say they eventually tracked him down inside the stadium, but claim he didn't stop after authorities attempted to detain him.

Police say they were eventually able to get the man down to a "police room" inside the stadium -- where they say he "appeared to be intoxicated." Cops noted in the docs that "while in the police room, Miller stated '[the bottle] never hit the field.'"

According to the docs, Miller was arrested and booked on three charges -- including disorderly conduct, failure to comply with a lawful order, and assault.

Pelissero reported Tuesday that following the incident, the Browns are planning to ban the fan from home games going forward.

"Fan, player and staff safety is the top priority in our building and behavior that puts others in danger will not be tolerated," the Browns said in a statement on Tuesday. "Luckily no one was harmed in this incident and as a standard practice, we've cooperated with law enforcement authorities and security video footage of the object being thrown is in the appropriate hands. We will have no further comment on this matter."

Baker Mayfield I Didn't Say I'd 'F*** Up' Browns ... Denies Report

Published

Baker Mayfield is clearing the air on allegedly saying he'd "f*** up" the Cleveland Browns in Week 1 ... claiming he didn't even come close to hurling the bulletin board material.

Earlier this week, NFL Media's Cynthia Frelund stated she spoke with the new Carolina Panthers QB after their preseason game against the Buffalo Bills ... and claimed he told her he was going to get revenge on his former team with an NSFW statement.

It's a comment that almost certainly lit a fire under his old teammates' asses ... with Myles Garrett saying the Browns were going to "take it and use it."

But Baker spoke with the media at practice on Wednesday ... and he says the conversation didn't go as Frelund claimed.

"Well, first, I didn't say it," Baker told reporters.

"That is not how I phrased it. That's not even what I said."

Bake claims he "didn't even say anything" other than wanting to get a win in Week 1 ... which isn't nearly as eye-opening as the initial statement.

If Mayfield is telling the truth, it was a pretty believable quote nonetheless -- after all, this is the guy who went #1 overall in the 2018 draft but still played with a chip on his shoulder.

As for Frelund, she later admitted she should have kept the conversation private ... but stood by her intent -- which was to show support for the QB.

Something tells us the Browns are still gonna have that motivation come September 11.

Browns Player Wasn't Holding Weed ... It's Sunflower Seeds!!!

Published | Updated

Sorry to kill all the fun, but Cleveland Browns player Martin Emerson, Jr. was NOT walking around with a bunch of weed during Saturday's preseason game ... as it turns out, it was a bag of sunflower seeds.

Shocker, right?!

Of course, some folks and/or trolls on Twitter tried to take a grainy picture of the Browns vs. Chicago Bears broadcast ... and play it off like Emerson was holding a bag of weed on the bench.

The pic quickly made rounds on social media ... with users cracking their "typical Browns" jokes for retweets and favorites, and playing it off like the players were getting ready to toke.

But, one intrepid account decided to find a much clearer image of the alleged weed ... and yeah, it's definitely a bag of seeds.

If you don't believe your eyes, our sources confirm it's not marijuana and there were several players clearly chewing in the same clip that made its rounds online.

FWIW, the NFL has softened its stance on weed recently ... but sunflower seeds, however, are not banned.

Carry on.

Baker Mayfield's Wife Emotional Over Leaving Cleveland ... 'A Lot of Tears'

Published | Updated

Emily Mayfield is sad to leave Cleveland behind after Baker's trade to the Carolina Panthers ... admitting it's been an emotional process with "a lot of tears."

The former #1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft spent his first four pro seasons with the Browns ... but was shipped to Charlotte as a result of Cleveland's controversial trade for Deshaun Watson.

As the 2022-23 season approaches, Emily is reflecting on all the memories she made with her husband ... saying she had no idea she'd be saying goodbye already.

"It's obviously been an emotional couple of days," Emily said on Instagram. "Baker and I left last season, truly expecting to come back for another season (like the previous 4 years).

"No part of me thought it'd be the last time we'd leave that house together or the last time we'd shut it down to head out on our off-season adventures."

Emily reminisced about all the experiences they shared at their first house as a couple -- from barbeques and bonfires to holiday gatherings.

"I am leaving Cleveland with such fond memories," she added. "I'm leaving this house with a full heart. This week brought A LOT of tears. It brought tons of nostalgia. But I'm so happy I felt those feelings... it means it was a good ride."

Mayfield says she's excited to create new memories in Charlotte, but admits "there's just something about that first place ..... Thank you, CLE. You'll forever hold a special place in my heart."

But, on the bright side, Emily says a flight attendant noticed her puffy eyes on her flight from Cleveland ... and gave her "the most massive pour" of wine.

Some people actually like Cleveland after all.

Deshaun Watson out ... Jimmy Garoppolo in?!

If Michael Lombardi was still the general manager in Cleveland ... he tells TMZ Sports that's exactly the move he'd make following Watson's newly announced 11-game suspension.

Lombardi, who was the GM in Berea, Ohio for one season back in 2013, said because of the new length of Watson's ban ... he isn't sure the QB will be ready for game action for at least a few weeks after his suspension concludes.

So, he tells us his solution to the problem is simple -- go trade for Jimmy G.

"I know this is a little bit of a disruption," Lombardi said, "but you can go get Garoppolo and save your season."

Browns execs say the move isn't happening -- they're content to have Jacoby Brissett fill in for Watson for the next few months -- but Lombardi clearly believes that's a mistake.

"The offense being run in Cleveland is the same terminology as the offense in San Francisco," Lombardi said. "Garoppolo could walk into Cleveland tomorrow, and within about a week he would be able to execute their offense."

With Garoppolo set to become a free agent at the end of the year -- Lombardi described the move as a "no-lose situation."

"Look," he said, "this notion that Deshaun is just going to come back in Week 12 and all of the sudden magically score, throw four touchdown passes and dominate the NFL, that's unrealistic. That's not even remotely accurate."

Season starts in just a couple weeks ... could a trade actually go down? Stay tuned.

Deshaun Watson Women's Orgs Rip Suspension ... 'Nowhere Near Enough'

Published | Updated
UPDATE

1:21 PM PT -- Another major organization is going after Watson … saying the QB is clearly unapologetic for his alleged sexual misconduct -- and it showed during his presser on Thursday.

UPDATE

"Deshaun Watson had a chance to show he could change, and he immediately blew it," Scott Berkowitz, the president of The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), said.

UPDATE

"His comments to the media make clear that he doesn’t really accept any responsibility for his actions, and that he still doesn’t understand how much harm he caused, or the impact on the dozens of survivors he hurt."

One of the biggest women's organizations in the country is furious over Deshaun Watson's 11-game suspension and fine ... telling TMZ Sports the new punishment simply isn't sufficient.

The National Organization For Women (N.O.W.) has been closely following the Watson case for weeks ... previously telling us the 6-game suspension former Judge Sue L. Robinson handed down was "insulting, and dangerous."

The NFL appealed Robinson's decision ... and on Thursday, the league reached a settlement with Watson -- an 11-game ban and $5 million fine (which will be combined with the league and Browns' contribution to women's charities) ... and requiring the QB to attend professional evaluations, and a treatment program.

Despite the longer punishment, N.O.W. president Christian Nunes says the suspension is still "nowhere near enough," ... nor is the fine, considering Watson's massive $230 million salary.

"That $5 million represents 2.1739% of Watson’s new $230 million contract with the Cleveland Browns," Nunes tells us, "which was negotiated after more than two dozen women had accused the star athlete of sexual misconduct."

"What is the point of a $5 million fine to Deshaun Watson -- or to the NFL, which made an estimated $9.8 billion during the 2021 season, and more than $15 billion the season before?"

081822_deshaun_watson_kal 8/18/22
MAINTAINING INNOCENCE

Nunes added ... "Women need more than empty words and half-measures. The culture of toxic masculinity within the NFL must change -- NOW. Deshaun Watson’s career and wealth won’t be damaged by this decision—unlike the dozens of women he has irreparably harmed."

"No, this isn’t good enough."

"The settlement allows him to move forward with his life and career."

UPDATE

9:44 AM PT -- Watson just addressed the media for the first time since the new suspension was announced -- and despite saying in a statement earlier in the day that he takes "accountability" for his actions ... he told reporters he's "never assaulted or disrespected anyone."

UPDATE

Watson said repeatedly that he "stands on my innocence" ... and said he was accepting of the suspension solely to put the situation behind him.

UPDATE

9:24 AM PT -- Watson is speaking out on his suspension ... saying, "I'm grateful that the disciplinary process has ended and extremely appreciative of the tremendous support I have received throughout my short time with the Browns organization."

UPDATE

"I apologize once again for any pain this situation has caused," he added. "I take accountability for the decisions I made."

UPDATE

"My focus going forward is on working to become the best version of myself on and off the field and supporting my teammates however possible while I'm away from the team. I'm excited about what the future holds for me in Cleveland."

UPDATE

Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam also announced they will invest in programs in Northeast Ohio to educate children on the awareness, understanding and prevention of sexual misconduct.

Deshaun Watson has learned his fate -- the controversial quarterback has been suspended 11 games this season after reaching a settlement with the NFL.

The league just announced the new punishment for the Cleveland Browns star -- saying in addition to the lengthier ban, Watson also agreed to a $5 million fine. The 26-year-old will also "promptly undergo a professional evaluation by behavioral experts and will follow their treatment program," according to the NFL.

NFL commish Roger Goodell addressed the settlement, saying, "Deshaun has committed to doing the hard work on himself that is necessary for his return to the NFL."

"This settlement requires compliance with a professional evaluation and treatment plan, a significant fine, and a more substantial suspension."

He added ... "We are grateful to Judge Robinson and Peter Harvey for their efforts in addressing these matters, which laid the foundation for reaching this conclusion."

Watson -- who was acquired by the Browns in the offseason -- initially received a six-game suspension from retired Judge Sue Robinson, who spent several days investigating the claims made against him from 2020-21.

The NFL was unaccepting of Robinson's ruling and appealed Watson's 6-game ban ... believing there was enough evidence to lobby for a stricter suspension.

As we previously reported, Goodell ripped Watson to reporters last week ... calling Deshaun's behavior "egregious" and "predatory."

"There were multiple violations here, and they were egregious, and it was predatory behavior," Goodell previously said. "Those are things that we always felt were important for us to address in a way that's responsible."

The NFL Players Association wasn't initially on board with the NFL appealing Judge Robinson's ruling ... but Goodell argued that the league is allowed to do so, thanks to the collective bargaining agreement.

"As you know, it's part of the CBA that two parties had the right. Either party could certainly challenge and appeal that, and that was something we thought was our right to do, as well as the NFLPA," Goodell said.

Former New Jersey attorney general Peter C. Harvey was hired to hear the appeal ... but after the settlement Thursday, it's clear he will no longer be needed.

As settlement talks were being held, Watson was allowed to take the field for the Browns' Week 1 preseason game against the Jaguars ... and the QB was met with boos from the Jacksonville crowd.

Deshaun will be eligible to return Week 13 against his former team -- the Houston Texans.

The Cleveland Browns grounds crew rushed to plant new grass right after Machine Gun Kelly's homecoming concert at FirstEnergy Stadium on Saturday ... but it wasn't because the show got too rowdy -- TMZ Sports is told it was all part of the plan.

The Cleveland native played in front of a packed crowd this past Saturday ... giving a bloody performance that even included zip-lining throughout the stadium.

There's just one thing that had people concerned -- Cleveland hosts the Philadelphia Eagles for a preseason game on Sunday ... which means if the field were to have gotten damaged during the concert, the team could be in trouble.

As it turns out, we're told that wasn't the case at all ... because the Browns expected to replace the field after the show no matter what shape it was in.

The team tells us the "Mainstream Sellout" concert marked the end of the stadium's summer concert dates ... so after the rapper/rocker and fans left the place, it was the best opportunity to lay down some new sod for the start of the Browns' 2022 campaign.

There were rumblings the grass would simply not be ready in time for the 1 PM kickoff on the 21 ... but according to our sources, it won't be an issue.

Safe to say the hometown hero will be welcome back.

GROWING AND LEARNING

Deshaun Watson is showing regret for his actions as his NFL future remains in limbo ... saying he's "truly sorry to all the women" he impacted.

Watson is facing a massive suspension after being accused of sexual misconduct with more than 20 women ... and before the Cleveland Browns' preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he spoke about the claims made against him.

"Look, I wanna say that I'm truly sorry to all the women that I impacted in this situation," Watson said.

"The decisions that I made in my life that put me in this position I would definitely like to have back but I want to continue to move forward and grow and learn and show that I am a true person of character and I am going to keep pushing forward."

Watson was initially handed a 6-game ban for his alleged misconduct ... but the NFL is trying like hell to extend the punishment.

He is currently playing for the Browns as he awaits the NFL's decision.

"I know I have a lot of work to put in, especially on the field to be able to make sure I'm ready to play whenever that time comes, whenever I can step back on the field." he added.

"But also, the biggest thing is I want to continue counseling and I want to make sure that I'm growing as a person, as an individual for my decision-making on and off the field. I want to make sure that I'm just evolving in the community as much as possible, and that's for the Cleveland community, that's the NFL community, and beyond."

Roger Goodell Unleashes On Deshaun Watson Calls Behavior 'Predatory'

Published

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell didn't hold back when talking about Deshaun Watson on Tuesday ... calling the Browns' star quarterback's behavior "egregious" and "predatory."

Reporters talked to Goodell on Tuesday at a meeting to approve the sale of the Broncos ... with the commish being asked why the league is appealing Watson's six-game suspension.

Because we’ve seen the evidence,” Goodell said.

“[Judge Sue L. Robinson] was very clear about the evidence," Roger told reporters, adding ... "There were multiple violations here, and they were egregious and it was predatory behavior."

The commissioner continued ... "Those are things that we always felt were important for us to address in a way that’s responsible," the statement read.

Of course, the NFL announced Wednesday they were appealing the 6-game suspension handed down to the former Texans QB.

The NFL Players Association has been critical of the decision to appeal ... saying the league should respect the ruling. But, Goodell flat out says the appeal is their right, so they took it.

“As you know, it’s part of the CBA that two parties had the right. Either party could certainly challenge and appeal that, and that was something we thought was our right to do, as well as the NFLPA," Goodell said.

"So we decided it was the right thing to do.”

Goodell appointed former New Jersey Attorney General Peter C. Harvey last week ... who will hear the appeal.
