Sam Hunt First Concert Since DUI Arrest ... Tells Crowd a Tour's Coming

BUSINESS AS USUAL
TMZ.com

Sam Hunt's back in front of his fans for the first time since getting busted for a DUI ... and he says he'll be doing a lot more of it in 2020.

The country music star hit the stage Wednesday night at the RADIO.COM concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn -- his first concert since his arrest in Nashville a few weeks back.

Sam didn't touch on the DUI, choosing to focus instead on just putting on a good show ... and making a big announcement about new music coming soon and a vow to hit the road and tour a lot more next year.

The Barclays show was Hunt's first time performing in NYC in over 2 years, and he played the hits like "Cop Car," "Body Like a Back Road," and "House Party" ... as you see in the clip.

Interestingly, he canceled his appearance Thursday night at the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards back in the city where he was arrested.

As we reported, cops said Hunt reeked of booze and his eyes were bloodshot when they pulled him over for allegedly driving the wrong way down a Nashville street.

Police say they asked for his driver's license, which was sitting in his lap, but Sam instead handed over a credit card and a passport. Cops say he also bombed his field sobriety test and blew a .173 -- more than twice the legal limit.

Sam was arrested, booked and released ... and he's been charged with DUI.

Hunt broke his silence a couple days later, saying he made some really bad choices and vowed not to repeat his mistakes.

Sam's scheduled to appear in court on January 17.

Sam Hunt My DUI Demonstrates ... 'Poor, Selfish Decision'

Sam Hunt has gone public over his DUI Thursday, saying he made some really bad choices.

The country star just said, "Thursday night I decided to drive myself home after drinking at a friend's show in downtown Nashville. It was a poor and selfish decision and I apologize to everyone who was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it. It won't happen again."

Truth be told, it wasn't Thursday night ... it was Thursday at 6 AM. Hunt was in a bar Wednesday night partying with some folks, but the bars close at 2 AM. Cops saw Sam swerving and driving down the wrong side of the road at 6 AM, pulled him over and noticed he reeked of alcohol.

He was clearly wasted ... police asked for his driver's license, which was in his lap, but instead he gave them a credit card and his passport. He did poorly on the field sobriety test and blew a .173 ... way over the legal limit.

Sam was arrested, booked and released.  He's already been charged with DUI.

Elliott from 'E.T.' Cuts Sweet Plea Deal in DUI Case

Elliott from 'E.T.' got one helluva plea deal in his DUI case despite putting himself in serious danger ... although the deal does come with strings attached.

Henry Thomas pled no contest to driving under the influence and reckless driving following his Oregon arrest -- but according to docs, obtained by TMZ, the actor won't have to phone home or E.T. from jail.

Instead of time behind bars, Thomas will enter into a diversion program for 1 year, pay a $500 fine, attend a one-time victim impact panel and have an ignition interlock device installed in his car.

Like we said, sweet deal considering how he got busted. Cops say they found Thomas passed out behind the wheel in the middle of a residential intersection. He was booked for DUI and later released on his own recognizance.

Thomas, of course, is most famous for playing Elliott in Steven Spielberg's iconic 1982 film. More recently, he was in Netflix's "The Haunting of Hill House."

'E.T.' Star Henry Thomas 'Fast Acting THC' Found in Car During DUI Arrest

Henry Thomas had cannabis in his vehicle when he was busted for a DUI, which could explain him being zonked at the wheel ... this according to law enforcement.

As we reported ... Elliott from 'E.T.' was arrested last month in Oregon after the Tualatin PD responded to a call of him being asleep in the driver's seat at an intersection in a residential area.

According to new court docs ... the responding officer arrived right after another driver had pounded on Thomas' window to wake him up, and noticed he had spit on his now-open window and it was running down the door. He allegedly also had spit on his jacket.

The cop claims she asked Thomas if he was having a medical issue and he said no, but he was slurring his speech and had droopy and bloodshot eyes. According to the docs, he said he didn't have anything to drink, but refused the field sobriety tests.

The officer claims Thomas was swaying as she talked to him so she placed him under arrest for DUI ... and located a bottle of "fast acting THC" in the driver's side door.

The Washington County Oregon Circuit Court clerk tells us ... Thomas' attorney pled not guilty on his behalf Friday to the misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. He has another court date scheduled for later this month.

We reached out to the attorney ... no word back, so far.

Elliott from 'E.T.' Arrested for DUI Mug Shot Screams 'Ouch'

UPDATE

10:31 AM PT -- Henry was released on his own recognizance around 9:30 AM this morning.

Elliott from 'E.T.' went from riding a bicycle under the influence of an alien ... to allegedly driving a car under the influence of a terrestrial substance.

Actor Henry Thomas was arrested Monday for DUI in Oregon. The Tualatin PD -- the agency that picked him up -- tells TMZ ... another motorist called 911 around 8:30 PM to report that someone was stopped in the middle of a residential intersection.

We're told that when cops arrived, they found Henry passed out behind the wheel, and officers had to wake him up. Although we're told that Henry's car didn't reek of booze to the police, they took him to the Washington County Jail on suspicion of DUI based on other signs of being intoxicated, which the Tualatin PD wouldn't clearly convey to us.

Either way, he was booked for misdemeanor driving under the influence of intoxicants. Of course, Henry posed for this bleary-eyed mug shot too. As of now, it doesn't seem like he's been released yet. Presumably, cops are letting him sober up in jail.

The guy is obviously most known for his lead role as young Elliott from Steven Spielberg's iconic 1982 film, in which he befriends an extraterrestrial. He's gone on to act in tons of other stuff over the years ... most recently, in Netflix's "The Haunting of Hill House."

When it comes to this though ... ya gotta wonder if Henry was given his one "phone home" call. We can only hope so!!!

Saints' P.J. Williams Pleads Guilty ... In Drunk Driving Case

New Orleans Saints' P.J. Williams has one less thing to worry about before roster cuts this week ... the DB was able to close out his drunk driving case with a guilty plea to a lesser charge Tuesday.

Williams was pulled over for going 80 MPH in a 50 MPH zone in New Orleans just days after the Saints lost to the Rams in the NFC Championship Game on Jan. 20.

During the stop, cops suspected the 26-year-old was drunk ... and when he refused a breathalyzer test, he was arrested.

Williams was hit with a DWI charge as well as speeding, improper lane usage and failure to use a turn signal.

But, a court official tells TMZ Sports Williams cut a deal with prosecutors Tuesday and, in exchange for a guilty plea to a reduced charge of reckless operation of a vehicle -- his case was closed out.

We're told as part of the agreement, Williams -- who had his attorney appear for him in court -- was forced to pay a $340 fine.

Williams has been a solid member of the Saints' defense the past three seasons, logging 15 starts and 3 interceptions.

It's unclear if he'll make the New Orleans' final roster after cut day this weekend ... but after signing a 1-year, $2.2 MIL contract this offseason, he's probably a safe bet to make the squad.

Ex-"Deadliest Catch" star Jake Harris has been behind bars ever since his January arrest ... and it would behoove him to get comfy 'cause he's gonna be there a while longer.

According to legal docs obtained by TMZ ... Harris was sentenced to 18 months in Skagit County Corrections following his arrest on 2 felony charges ... driving under the influence and possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance ... heroin.

As we reported ... Harris led state troopers on a chase in Skagit County, Washington when he took off with his RV. Cops say they noticed signs of drug use after they pulled him over -- pinpoint pupils, bloodshot eyes and a pale face. He was arrested and pled guilty to the 2 felony charges.

For a year after his release, Harris -- who was skipper of the Cornelia Marie before leaving "Deadliest Catch" in 2012 -- has to undergo an evaluation for drug dependency and he's not allowed to booze either. He'll also have to get an ignition interlock device installed in his whip for 6 months.

Al Unser Jr. Avoids More Jail Time In DUI Case ... Cuts Sweet Plea Deal

The 57-year-old was driving on an Indiana highway back on May 20 when police say they caught him going 59 MPH in a 45.

Cops say they saw his car swerving when they followed him to pull him over ... and when they stopped him, they say he wreaked of booze and showed all the signs of being drunk.

In fact, officers say he was so wasted, when they asked him to walk to the side of the road near his car so they could conduct sobriety tests ... he lost his balance and rolled down an embankment.

After Unser refused to do sobriety tests ... cops took him to the hospital to have his blood drawn -- and officers say, during their entire interaction with the driver, he was "verbally hostile."

Eventually, Unser was hit with three charges for the incident -- DUI, improper lane change and speeding.

But, a court official tells TMZ Sports, Unser cut a deal with prosecutors this week ... and in exchange for a guilty plea on the DUI charge -- the other 2 counts were dropped.

Unser's punishment for the agreement was a pretty good one for him, considering he was facing up to a year behind bars and a slew of fines and fees.

A court official says Unser got 363 days of probation, 480 hours of community service, and must complete a "victim impact panel" (which generally means Unser will be required to publicly speak about the perils of drunk driving).

Unser also had his driver's license suspended for 365 days from the May 20 arrest ... although the court is allowing him to drive for essential things like work, church, grocery store, etc.

Unser was also required to pay $386.50 in fines and court fees.

Unser's has had several problems with drinking and driving in the past ... he was previously popped for DUI in 2007 and 2011. He was also arrested in 2002 after a booze-fueled altercation with his then-girlfriend.

BUSTED!!!
TMZSports.com

NBA veteran Allen Crabbe -- who was just traded to the ATL Hawks -- was arrested for DUI on the Sunset Strip late Tuesday night ... and TMZ Sports has the video.

We're told cops noticed the 27-year-old was "straddling lanes" around 11:30 PM -- so they pulled him over ... and during the stop, the officer suspected he was drunk.

'L&HH' Star Teairra Mari Arrested for DWI ... Sparks Fly in NYC

"Love & Hip Hop" star Teairra Mari was arrested in New York for driving while intoxicated -- and it sounds like her vehicle was an early Fourth of July show on the road.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... cops pulled Teairra over early Saturday morning after they saw her coming out of the Midtown Tunnel into Queens in a red Dodge Charger, which we're told had sparks shooting up from the front of the vehicle.

As cops pursued, our sources say officers noticed that the front right wheel was gone and that the bumper was making contact with the ground ... creating the sparks. Eventually, we're told Teairra came to a full stop and cops performed field sobriety tests.

It's unclear if she blew into a breathalyzer, but we're told police did note she had trouble maintaining her balance when she exited the vehicle ... and that she allegedly reeked of booze. She was ultimately arrested and booked for DWI and driving without a license.

DMV records show that Teairra's license is either suspended or revoked at the moment. She's currently in custody awaiting arraignment.

She was asked to recite the alphabet from letter E and stop at W ... but Minnie stopped at Z. She was asked to count backward from 69 and stop at 39 but she stopped at 1.

Brian France NASCAR's Ex-CEO Pleads Guilty In Drunk Driving Case

Brian France -- the former CEO of NASCAR -- just pled guilty to misdemeanor drunk driving stemming from an August 2018 arrest in the Hamptons ... TMZ Sports has learned.

France, 56, was pulled over on August 5, 2018 in Sag Harbor, NY -- and during the stop, cops say he bombed a field sobriety test and later blew a .18 on the breathalyzer ... more than twice the legal limit.

According to the police report, cops say they also found oxycodone pain pills. To make matters worse, we're told France name-dropped President Trump during the arrest in an effort to skate on the charges.

Now, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office says France has pled guilty to one count of misdemeanor DUI and in exchange, he got 100 hours of community service and must complete an alcohol education course before June 5, 2020.

If he completes the terms of his plea deal, prosecutors will allow France to withdraw his guilty plea and reduce the charge to a traffic violation.

NBA Referee Ron Garretson Bloody Hands During DUI Crash ... Put 'Er There, Officer

DAZED & CONFUSED
TMZSports.com

Ron Garretson was a bloody mess after crashing his car and slightly before he got arrested for DUI -- but that doesn't mean he forgot his manners with cops.

The veteran NBA referee had blood all over his hands Wednesday as a Lake Havasu City police officer responded to the scene of the car wreck. In body cam footage, you can see Garretson was on his own two feet after hitting a tree ... but he seemed far from okay.

As the officer tries asking him questions to figure out what had happened, Garretson extends his hand for a shake -- but gets turned down ... twice. Bloody hands? No thanks, dude.

911 AUDIO

Garretson tries explaining what happened, but at times comes off as somewhat scatterbrained in piecing his story together. He says "a chick" hit him as he was circling around a road divider. Check out the windshield too -- it's completely cracked ... Garretson appears to have smashed his head against the glass.

As the 911 caller noted to dispatch, Garretson came off as fairly coherent right after the accident. But, as cops investigated further and had him perform field sobriety tests ... they suspected he'd been drinking and driving. LHCPD says he admitted to having a shot and a beer beforehand.

Garretson was arrested and booked for extreme DUI. The NBA has yet to issue a statement on Garretson's future or potential punishment -- he's still an active ref.
