Congressman Ted Lieu Kim K's Doing Great With Prison Reform ... Trump Should Do More

Published | Updated

Ted Lieu thinks Kim Kardashian is doing stand-up work with clemency and prison reform, but the congressman says Donald Trump should be swayed by more than just beautiful celebs.

We got Ted outside the U.S. Capitol Wednesday, and he called on the President to become more active in pardoning prisoners who are getting a raw deal from draconian drug sentences.

It's great Kim appears to have DT's ear when it comes to freeing prisoners, Ted says, but Trump needs to be more willing to listen to voices outside the celebrity realm.

Ted says he's called for a full review of Trump's pardon authority, and explains why the President should be more balanced in the clemency process.

Ted also shares his thoughts on Kim's future in politics -- they're both from California -- and gives her some additional issues to tackle.

Ty Dolla $ign Arrest Vid Shows Skrillex Was There During Weed, Cocaine Bust

Ty Dolla $ign wasn't the only celeb present during his drug bust ... turns out Skrillex was there too.

Atlanta PD just released its body cam footage from the rapper's arrest earlier this week, and it shows an officer on foot patrol telling another officer he smelled weed, but nobody had gotten out of the limo.

Cops ultimately got everyone out of the vehicle ... with Dolla and Skrillex as the second and third passengers to step out. You can see Dolla tell cops he had been smoking weed earlier. Cops asked if anyone has anything on them but no one admits to the weed and that's when cops start patting them down.

The famed DJ was polite with cops and he even smirks a bit. The whole group was thoroughly searched. Skrillex had nothing on him. Moments later, you hear a cop searching the limo say, "cuff him" and that's when Dolla's placed under arrest.

TMZ broke the story ... Dolla was arrested for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of cocaine. Cops say the drugs were found in his bag.

Vince Vaughn Charged in DUI Case

Vince Vaughn has just been charged with DUI for his arrest nearly 3 months ago.

TMZ broke the story ... the actor was busted in Manhattan Beach, CA back in June after he was stopped at a checkpoint. Police say he was uncooperative when officers told him and his passenger to step out of the car.

The L.A.County D.A. has now charged Vaughn with DUI and disobeying an officer.

As we first reported ... Vaughn was at a hotel bar holding a drink in his hand just 2 and a half hours before he was arrested.

It's very unlikely Vince will get any jail time -- first-time DUI offenders in California typically get probation.

'Lopez' Actor Ray Diaz Charged with Domestic Battery

Published | Updated

11:28 AM PT -- Ray tells TMZ he still denies all of the allegations and points to the fact he was granted a restraining order against his accuser.

Actor Ray Diaz -- who starred alongside George Lopez for one season on "Lopez" -- has been charged with domestic violence after allegedly assaulting his GF.

The L.A. City Attorney's office has done an about-face and charged Ray with domestic battery, false imprisonment, dissuading a witness and vandalism -- all misdemeanors.

We're told Ray's case was originally heading for a city attorney hearing, until prosecutors re-examined the evidence and decided to file charges.

The incident between Ray and the woman went down earlier this summer -- Ray allegedly got into an argument with his GF and grabbed and pulled her. She claims the attack was so severe she suffered bruising on her leg and scratches on her neck.

A source connected to the couple tells us the GF attempted to call 911, but he grabbed the phone from her. We're told she even tried using Alexa to dial 911, but Ray -- who'll be back in court later this month -- unplugged the device.

Offset wants to see the first female president in U.S. history ... but he's not talking about Hillary Clinton. Try Kim Kardashian!!!

We got Offset Thursday in the Big Apple ... and the rapper tells us Kim would get his vote based purely on her impassioned work on prison reform -- something he takes very personally.

Offset's been in jail in Georgia multiple times for weapons charges and weed possession -- so, he's 100 percent behind Kim's fight to free prisoners, especially because she's helping black people.

Kim and Kanye 2020?!?!

We also asked Offset about baby Kulture and his wife, Cardi B, and he dropped some hints about when we'll get to see them both in public.

THE DRUNKEN ARREST

TMZ Sports has obtained police video showing a drunk Richard Panik getting arrested at an Arizona bar back in April ... and name dropping his NHL team to try to get out of trouble.

The Arizona Coyotes winger was busted for trespassing outside of Bevvy on April 8. Bar staffers told cops the 27-year-old was so intoxicated when he arrived around 8:50 PM, they wouldn't even let him inside.

Panik allegedly tried to shove his way past security -- so bar staffers called the cops. That's when the video starts.

Once the Scottsdale P.D. arrived, the video shows Panik being standoffish and refusing to leave. He also appears to be pretty hammered.

Panik tries to sass the officers saying, "I know my law" -- to which the cop responds, "You might know your law, but I'm a law enforcement officer so I think I know what I'm talking about."

The officer finally decides he's had enough and orders Panik into custody warning, "Don't fight with me me or you'll go on the ground real hard."

Panik mentions playing for the Coyotes multiple times -- but the cops don't really give a crap.

He was eventually arrested for trespassing and hauled to a nearby jail.

Panik appeared in court on Wednesday and pled guilty to criminal trespass. He's been ordered to complete a diversion program (most likely an alcohol education course).

It's a good deal for Panik considering he was facing up to 30 days in jail. He's due back in court on Sept. 5.

Panik was one of the Coyotes' top players last season after being traded from the Blackhawks ... scoring eight goals and tallying 11 assists in 35 games.

Tekashi69 Please Judge, No Prison Time!!! I Stuck to My Plea Deal

Published | Updated

Tekashi69's throwing a Hail Mary in hopes of avoiding prison time in his child sex case ... TMZ has learned.

Tekashi filed a letter with the judge in the case, explaining why he thinks he should get off with probation. You'll recall, prosecutors have recommended he gets 1 to 3 years in prison because of 2 recent arrests -- one in Houston and one in Brooklyn.

6ix9ine pled guilty back in 2015 to one count of using a child in a sexual performance -- a video shoot -- and was required to keep his nose clean for 2 years. In docs, Tekashi says his arrests for assaulting an officer (Brooklyn), and attacking a fan in a mall (Houston) don't constitute a violation of his plea deal.

The rapper's lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, says both arrests happened this year, and the deadline on his plea deal was Oct. 2017. Translation: It's too late to nail me for that stuff. Plus, he points out, neither arrest has resulted in a conviction.

Tekashi is asking the judge to sentence to 4 years probation and a youthful offenders program.

The restaurant is owned by ex-Death Row artist Danny Boy, who's been friends with Orlando since they were kids. We're told Orlando's presence triggered a security alarm and alert on Danny's phone. He called the cops ... who say they found Orlando on the roof, claiming he was there with permission to change the locks. Danny shot that down ... and Orlando was arrested.

Danny tells us Orlando was released from a hospital 2 weeks ago and needed a place to sleep, so he invited him to stay in the restaurant. He says Orlando appeared to be in a haze Sunday, and accused Danny of stealing money from him.

Danny says pressing charges seemed like the best way for Orlando to get the help he needs.

Tyler Perry Offers $200k Reward In Missing Persons Cases

Published | Updated

Tyler Perry's upping the reward for any info that leads to solving a mysterious case of 2 missing men in Florida ... in which a former cop is the main person of interest.

The famed actor and filmmaker just made the announcement in Naples, FL ... he's offering $200k for any help in the cases of the missing Collier County men -- Felipe Santos and Terrance Williams.

The story of the 2 men is a strange one -- Santos went missing in October 2003 and Williams in January 2004, but there's a connection between them ... the last person to see them both alive was Steven Calkins, a corporal with the Collier County Sheriff's office at the time.

Perry has been involved in trying to solve the mysterious disappearance for years, and had already offered a $100k reward before doubling it Tuesday. He's also close to Williams' mother, who was at the presser as well ... along with civil rights lawyer Benjamin Crump.

Crump announced on top of the reward money, Williams' family is filing a wrongful death suit against Calkins in hopes of getting testimony out of him.

The former cop was seen pulling over Williams in 2004 near a cemetery, but originally told another cop Williams' car was abandoned. He even denied having any contact with Williams, but later his story changed and he said he dropped him off at a Circle K.

The story of Santos' disappearance is eerily similar to the Williams case. Calkins was dispatched to the scene of a minor car accident involving Santos, allegedly arrested him for driving without a license ... but Santos was never booked at the local jails. Calkins told investigators he dropped him off at a Circle K as well.

Calkins was never charged in either case, which has been cold for nearly 15 years now. He was fired for lying, though ... and the Sheriff's Office says he is a person of interest.
