Cooper Manning Arch Has 'A Little Ways To Go' ... To Hit Potential At UT

Published | Updated

Cooper Manning says Univ. of Texas fans will need to wait a bit longer to see Arch Manning starring on the field for the Longhorns ... telling TMZ Sports this week his boy has "a little ways to go" still.

Peyton and Eli's big bro was candid with us when speaking about Arch's situation while out at LAX this week ... saying his 18-year-old son is still trying to figure out how to stay afloat in Austin during his first year on UT's campus.

"I mean, he lost his ID early on," Cooper said of Arch with a laugh. "So, baby steps. But I think he's every day trying to get a little better. And I think he's doing that."

Of course, Arch came to Texas with some sky-high expectations ... he was the No. 1-ranked recruit in the country -- and many Longhorns fans expected him to compete for the starting job as soon as he got his burnt orange jersey this year.

But, that hasn't been the case ... Quinn Ewers has been QB1 this entire season -- and even though he's now hurt, Maalik Murphy is expected to get the start this weekend over Arch.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian said there is a chance the young Manning could make his collegiate debut in Saturday's contest vs. BYU -- but he seemed to make it clear that Murphy will be the guy while Ewers is out.

Cooper, meanwhile, doesn't appear to see anything wrong with that ... telling us he expects his freshman son to just need some more time to season up.

"I'm surprised he hasn't lost his key and his car and his book bag and everything," Cooper said. "Freshman year -- you know, the lumps. But he's growing up."

As for Arch's NFL future, Cooper obviously isn't ready to talk about any of that ... telling us, "That's a long way away."

"Let's just see if he can pass English right now."

Taylor Swift OG '1989' Album Streams Skyrocket ... Following Rerecording

Published

Taylor Swift's recent rerelease of her "1989" album is a big win -- not just for the new stuff, but for the old versions, too, which kinda defeats Taylor's original purpose for rerecording!

According to stats from Spotify and YouTube, the 2014 version of Taylor's iconic album had over 15 MILLION streams after Friday's release of 'Taylor's Version.' YouTube data specifically shows 2.8 million streams on its platform alone -- with a wide majority replaying her music videos like "Blank Space" and "Shake It Off."

On Spotify, she's racked up 12.5M streams for the old album, despite the new music being available ... "Style" was the winner with over 2.5M, while "Blank Space," came in a very close second. Other big hits were "Bad Blood" and "Wildest Dreams."

Amazon data shows CD sales also went through the roof  -- crazy, we know -- with her deluxe version selling 271% more than usual, while her traditional CD jumped up 189%.

That's not all in terms of physical media -- vinyl records of her OG album skyrocketed 210% as well .. moving its rank on the charts from 261 to 84.

Those astronomical increases might sound like great news -- but, remember, Taylor's only rerecording her first 6 albums because she wasn't able to buy the master recordings when Scooter Braun bought her former label, Big Machine.

Now she has full ownership of the rerecordings, but the unintended side effect of the latest 'Taylor's Version' is more money in the pockets of her former label. However, considering she just achieved billionaire status, we don't think Taylor's losing much sleep over it.

Oscar De La Hoya Ngannou Has 'Zero' Chance To Beat Fury ... More Likely I Down Tiger Woods In Golf

THE BEST FIGHTING THE BEST

Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya's breaking down Francis Ngannou's odds of beating Tyson Fury in the boxing ring Saturday night ... putting his chance squarely at "ZERO," flat out telling us it ain't happening!

TMZ Sports was chatting with ODLH -- as he was promoting boxing star Ryan Garcia's upcoming return to the ring -- when we asked him about today's fight in Saudi Arabia ... pitting The Predator, MMA's most feared striker, vs. The Gypsy King, the best heavyweight boxer in the world.

"I think I have a better chance at beating Tiger Woods in golf," Oscar told us ... not mincing a single word.

We followed up ... no chance at all?!

"Zero," De La Hoya responded.

"I'll tell you one thing about Tyson Fury and Ngannou. It's gonna be entertaining, while it lasts I believe. Tyson Fury, you have to realize, he went in there against [Deontay] Wilder. He goes in there vs. Wladimir Klitschko, so he's a fighter all his life inside the boxing ring."

Despite clearly seeing no way the former UFC champ can win, Oscar still gave him credit for accepting the bout.

"Ngannou, I commend him for even trying this. I take my hat off to him for even trying this. He's gonna make a s***load of money. I just think when Tyson Fury gets his number and his rhythm, he's gonna play with him and probably knock him out."

FYI, Francis last fought in January 2022 -- a UFC contest -- against heavyweight contender, Ciryl Gane. Ngannou won by unanimous decision. Tyson last fought and beat Derek Chisora by TKO in December 2022.

Fury is regarded as not just the best heavyweight boxer of his era, but of of the greatest ever, period. Meanwhile, Ngannou, a striker who puts fear in his opponents, has never boxed professionally.

Bottom line, there might not be anyone out there who knows boxing better than De La Hoya ... but as they say, there's a reason they play the game, or in this case, have the fight.

Stay tuned! 👊

Christy Georges-Barnett Race Car Driver Reveals $1M+ Check ... After Huge Casino Win

Published | Updated

Race car driver Christy Georges-Barnett is still finding it hard to believe she won over $1 million at a Las Vegas slot machine ... but, yes, she is indeed now rich -- and she's showing TMZ Sports the massive check that proves it!!

The 63-year-old -- who drives USRA Dirt Mods and Super Trucks -- revealed a copy of the payment ... just a couple days after she was seen on video winning the cash at Caesar's Palace earlier this month.

"I can't even describe it to you. I still don't believe it," Georges-Barnett said this week. "It was like the biggest shock of my life."

"I couldn't even say anything. All I could do was go around in circles like a dummy and just say, 'Oh, my God! I just hit a million dollars.'"

Georges-Barnett said the surreal moment happened around 11 PM at the Dragon Link machine in the high roller room ... where she had won several small prizes before hitting the big $1 million.

That's when casino officials came over to the machine to see if she wanted the dough in cash or a check.

"I want a check for a million dollars," she said. "I wanna be able to show that off."

Georges-Barnett tells us her plans for the $1 million are to help a few people out, put some toward her and her husband's Barnett Harley Davidson shop, and save the rest.

As for advice to slot lovers out there, Georges-Barnett says she has zero ... telling us her trick is simply to talk to the machines before they deliver jackpots.

"The biggest one that I've ever won before that was $50,000," Georges-Barnett said. "I've won a lot of $30,000s and $20,000s and stuff like that, but never nothing like this."

Lance Bass No odien a Justin... ¡¡¡Britney lo perdonó!!!

Lance Bass

"EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN OPINION"

Lance Bass says the Justin Timberlake hate needs to stop ... because if Britney Spears can forgive him, so can everyone else.

We got the *NSYNC member Thursday at LAX and he told us he was getting set to read Britney's new memoir, which is chocked full of stories about her ex-boyfriend, JT.

Lance says folks coming after Justin for his role in Britney's abortion, the cheating allegations and their eventual breakup should back off and practice a little forgiveness.

While Lance says everyone is entitled to their own opinion about Justin, he says people should take a note from Britney and just cut the guy some slack.

Britney's book has been a smash hit ... and Lance is glad she's been able to tell her side of things, joking about copying her and getting Michelle Williams to do the audio version should he ever write a memoir.

HIP HOP AVENGERS, ASSEMBLE!!!

Busta Rhymes is revealing how he was able to assemble the hip hop Avengers of producing -- Pharrell, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz -- for his new album ... and the idea for his unbeatable team first came to him on a boat.

The Dungeon Dragon checked in with TMZ Hip Hop just minutes before he hit the stage in Munich for 50 Cent's "Final Lap" tour to discuss "BlockBusta" ... the album he says has him wildin' out like the Bussa Bus of old.

His last album, 2021's "E.L.E. 2," was widely billed as his 10th studio project when it dropped ... a clerical error Busta clarified with us.

He partnered with Google Play's inaugural launch in 2012 to release his "Year Of The Dragon" album for free but says the system wasn't set up to properly track its stats, so he treats it like the "special" project it is.

Regardless, he promises nothing short of fireworks on his new, appropriately titled, album ... executive produced by the legendary trio!!!

The stakes is high, as Trugoy would say.

102423_busta_rhymes_album_kal
BIGGER THAN EVER

Busta says the idea first came about while yachting with the production brass in Miami, and he figured he'd be missing the chance of a lifetime if he didn't slip some rap talk in the mix.

He says the project first started as an EP with the superproducers producing 2 tracks each but then spiraled into a full-blown album.

Coi Leray and BIA costar on the first pair of singles ... Busta agrees with the sentiment female artists are bringing more fans to rap lately, but says he sees artists as "MC 1st," regardless of gender.

While he gives BIA and Coi serious props as MCs and live performers ... he says he'll have a nice blend of men and women featuring on the final tracklist for "BlockBusta."

You can hear it in his voice, Busta's batteries are recharged, and he'll be releasing even more music rapidly. After "BlockBusta," he tells us he and his ace Spliff Star are dropping an album!!!

Before signing off to hit the stage, Busta gave big love to Beyonce, Drake and Lil Baby ... but is adamant Final Lap is the best tour of '23 -- hands down!!!

Cheryl Hines On RFK Jr. Home Intruder Proves He Needs Secret Service ... Biden Can't Ignore This!!!

WHERE'S THE PROTECTION?

Cheryl Hines says The White House can no longer avoid husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s need for Secret Service protection ... not in the wake of 2 scary incidents at their home.

The actress and comedian joined us on "TMZ Live" Friday and told us she had a front-row seat to the intruder who attempted to get inside their home, not once but twice.

Cheryl says she was on Instagram Live at the family's Brentwood estate Wednesday morning when she looked out the window and noticed a strange man in the yard, being apprehended by security.

For Cheryl, it was an alarming moment hitting way too close to home ... and we don't just mean the fact it happened at their home. There's another dimension to this -- the Kennedy's tragic family history.

Robert was only 9 years old when his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, was assassinated in Dallas in 1963, and then just 5 years later his father, Robert F. Kennedy, was shot and killed in L.A. while running for President.

Cheryl says the home intruder underscores the need for RFK Jr. to have Secret Service protection and not just private security watching his back as he runs as an Independent in the 2024 Presidential Election.

She says they've tried to get President Joe Biden's Department of Homeland Security to authorize Secret Service protection for RFK Jr. but have been denied ... which she finds very puzzling.

DHS' explanation for rejecting the request, at that time, was RFK Jr. wasn't polling high enough -- at least 15 percent -- to warrant protection, but the most recent poll shows him pulling 19% in a 3-way race with Biden and Trump.

She's hoping Biden reconsiders and seems to think The White House may be denying RFK Jr. protection because of the very real chance he'll be a big factor in the outcome next year.

If that's the case, Cheryl says the White House can't ignore this latest incident ... which we first reported.

It's a powerful conversation ... and it's interesting to see how Cheryl is so careful with her words when talking about RFK Jr.'s fight for Secret Service protection.

Lizzo Tour Staff Claps Back At Ex-Dancers ... They Liked the Banana Sex Show!!!

Published | Updated

Lizzo's tour staffers have her back in the sexual harassment lawsuit leveled against the singer by some former dancers ... saying Lizzo promoted a positive environment and never forced anyone to go to sex shows they didn't want to attend.

According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, 18 independent members of Lizzo's touring company wrote declarations standing with Lizzo and disputing the claims made against her by three of her former dancers ... Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez.

Kiara Mooring, a dancer on the tour, is pushing back against claims there was an unspoken rule about facing punishment for not going out with Lizzo when invited -- as the dancers claim in their suit.

She says, "This claim also makes no sense because plenty of the dancers (myself included) did not go to Bananenbar that night and we still have our job dancing with Lizzo."

Remember ... Bananenbar hosts Amsterdam's famed banana sex show, and it's where the dancers suing Lizzo claim she sexually denigrated them by allegedly forcing them to touch the nude performers.

Melissa Locke, another dancer, says she remembers talking with two of Lizzo's accusers, Davis and Rodriguez, the morning after the Bananenbar outing. She says, "They never said they felt uncomfortable or pressured. They were very enthusiastic about what a great night out they had."

Melissa adds ... "I remember telling them, 'That sounds like so much fun, I wish you had woken me up to go with you.' They agreed that it was a fun night and told me that they went out in the Red Light District after. They did not complain or sound upset in any way."

Davis claims Lizzo body-shamed her for gaining weight and used an admission of an eating disorder to justify firing her, but two other dancers say they aren't buying it.

Alaini Walker, who started dancing on tour after the accusers were out, says ... "In my experience, there was absolutely no body shaming on tour. I have experienced racial discrimination, sexual harassment and body shaming in this industry, but never while working with Lizzo. In fact, Lizzo’s tour felt like the opposite of many negative experiences I have had as a dancer."

Asia Banks backs up Alaini, saying ... "I was the biggest dancer on the tour. Lizzo always went out of her way to make me feel secure and confident in my body, including by making sure I was comfortable in every single costume for the show."

Zuri Appleby, the bass player, says Davis was never fat-shamed ... "To the contrary, everyone on the tour was genuinely concerned about Davis, not because she had gained weight, but because she was lax about her performances, her hygiene and her health."

Chawnta Van, a dancer, says she never experienced or witnessed racism on tour. She says Lizzo supports and empowers Black women and "would never tolerate any racism on tour."

Lizzo's accusers claim they had to turn down other dancing gigs during pauses on tour ... but Chawnta says the dancers had a retainer where they would be paid a percentage of their weekly rate when the tour was paused, and could still book other gigs when Lizzo didn't have a show.

Remember ... Noelle claims she feared Lizzo was going to physically attack her during a May 3 meeting where she resigned, but another dancer who says she was there claims, "Lizzo never got near Rodriguez or in her face."

LOVING AMSTERDAM

The assistant tour manager, Molly Gordon, says Crystal was fired for performance, tardiness and budget restrictions ... and she says Crystal begged to hang around on tour after being given the boot.

The declarations are part of a motion filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court by Lizzo’s attorneys seeking to dismiss most if not all of the claims.

Britney Spears Jamie's Lawyer Claims Brit's Lawyer Boasted ... I'm The 'King Of Entertainment Litigation'

Published | Updated

Britney Spears' lawyer is drinking his own Kool-Aid ... crowning himself the "King of Entertainment Litigation" during a heated conversation with Jamie Spears' attorney.

Mathew Rosengart screamed the phrase at Jamie's attorney, Alex Weingarten, when the two were going back and forth over settlement negotiations last summer ... at least according to Alex.

The way Weingarten recalls the conversation ... after telling Britney's lawyer he was dead wrong about Jamie authorizing illegal surveillance of Britney and warning him the statute of limitations was about to expire, Rosengart started yelling about being the "King of Entertainment Litigation."

Weingarten says he told Rosengart he was wasting his client's money by pressing his claims, but Weingarten tells TMZ, "Rosengart refused [to settle] and said that if he was not paid $7 million to cover his legal fees, that he was going to file new lawsuits against Jamie and others."

Weingarten goes on to tell TMZ, "Britney's lawyer has wasted over $7 million of her money on nothing."

FACING SERIOUS REPRECUSSIONS

TMZ broke the story ... Rosengart now wants to settle with Jamie, but his camp is telling Rosengart to go pound sand because he blew it by waiting way too long. Weingarten says there was no illegal surveillance, but even if Rosengart wanted to press that claim, he can't anymore ... the statute of limitations has long since expired.

BEGINNING OF THE END???

Weingarten also says Rosengart has been fighting turning over documents, because "it will be embarrassing to him personally and devastating to his client's allegations."

As for Rosengart, he tells TMZ what he thinks of his legal adversary ... "A known bully, he has conducted himself disgracefully in this matter, making false representation after false representation including to the court. His entire endgame is to bully and harass Britney Spears ..."

Rosengart goes on, "... he now continues to beclown himself with bottom of the barrel knowingly false and ridiculous statements, which we will not further dignify."

Arnold's longtime girlfriend, Heather Milligan, has been spotted this week with a large rock on her finger ... and it does look like it could be an engagement ring, but sources with direct knowledge tell us ... it's not.

The path is clear for Arnold to give it another try ... his divorce from Maria Shriver was finalized in 2021 ... 10 years after she filed for divorce.

Arnold and Heather have been together since 2013, and they're super tight. They live and travel together, so it's kinda like marriage anyway.

Heather, btw, is a highly successful physical therapist with her own company -- Elite OrthoSport. In fact, they met in 2012 when she was rehabbing Arnold after his shoulder surgery.

As for the ring ... well, as Freud would say, sometimes a rock is just a rock.
