11:07 AM PT -- 5/25 -- A spokesperson for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept. tells TMZ Sports ... the woman was issued a misdemeanor citation at the scene for obstructing an officer.
The spokesperson added the woman was then taken to a local hospital on a psychiatric hold.
Norman Powell was harassed by a white woman behaving erratically who berated the Clippers star and told him he was "not American" ... all while NP streamed the encounter on social media.
It got so serious, police were called ... and the woman was handcuffed and taken away by Las Vegas cops.
It's unclear if she was arrested ... and if so, on what charge.
The 28-year-old former 2nd-round draft pick out of UCLA was in Sin City working out at a local gym ... when Norman says the stranger stormed through the door, saying she'd gotten into a fight and needed help.
"She came here the first time and was saying she got in a fight," Powell said during the live stream. "We told her to leave out the back. She left, she was gone for about 15, 20 minutes, came back, staying in the gym calling us un-American, saying we need to go back, calling us p***y, a whole bunch of s**t."
Norman and his group warned the woman that police were on the way, but she called their bluff -- a mistake.
Multiple cops eventually arrived and the woman -- her identity is currently unknown -- was placed in cuffs.
In fact, Norman says the woman yelled "I can't breathe" while police had her pressed against the squad car.
"That is crazy to me, man. That s**t is not funny, man," Powell said, exasperated.
Powell told officers the woman was acting incredibly strange.
"We was trying to get her to leave," he added, "and then she was trying to take her pants off and take a s**t or piss on the floor. And that's when we pulled her out like, we can't have that."
Norman is a solid player in the NBA -- he averaged 21 points a game in 2022.

Aliu claimed the threats were so bad, police were involved ... and in a statement on Sunday, the Avs confirmed they have been in contact with cops over it all.
"The Avalanche organization is aware of threats made toward Nazem Kadri and is working with local law enforcement to investigate," the team said.
Aliu added, "Racist attacks like this have no place in hockey and should be investigated and reported on."
Kadri had said after the game there was no intent to hurt Binnington, claiming "their defenseman kind of collided with me and pushed me into him. So, had that not been the case, I don't think I would have hit him at all."

In another gut punch for the family of the Buffalo security guard killed in the mass shooting, a scammer allegedly tried to steal thousands of dollars from their crowdfunding account.
Here's the deal ... there's an official GoFundMe for the family of Aaron Salter Jr., the retired police officer who was working security at the supermarket where the tragic shooting happened, and it's raised about $40,000.
But, Aaron's son says the fund was targeted by a scammer this week, who he says tried to steal his personal information and bank account numbers.
Aaron Salter III tells TMZ ... he was combing through a sea of messages on the GoFundMe when he came across a message from a user who claimed they wanted to donate $4k. But, when he clicked on the message, he says his personal info was instantly switched with someone in Mississippi.
Aaron's son says he was able to get in touch with the good folks at GoFundMe, and they got the account back in his family's hands.
A spokesperson for GoFundMe tells TMZ ... they responded to a phishing attempt against the Salter family, and quickly secured the account. We're told the funds are safe and are being delivered directly to the fam.

Drug War Woman Caught Smuggling Fentanyl Pills in Vagina
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Texas are showing just how desperate some people are to hide drugs, catching a woman who allegedly smuggled fentanyl pills in her vagina.
According to CBP officers working at the Bridge of the Americas border crossing in El Paso, the woman, a 40-year-old American citizen, was intercepted earlier this month trying to smuggle fentanyl pills into the U.S. stuffed inside a condom, which she then hid inside her vaginal cavity.
The agents say a CBP canine alerted officers, who then conducted a pat-down search at the pedestrian crossing ... and officers say the woman then voluntarily removed a condom filled with fentanyl pills from her vaginal cavity.
It appears the actual pills were inside a custom container shaped to fit inside a vagina ... and that container was then wrapped in a condom.
You might be wondering, just how much fentanyl could one woman shove up there ... well, in this case at least, CBP says they recovered 0.006 pounds of the powerful drug.
The bust was one of 25 arrests over the past week at ports of entry in El Paso, which borders Ciudad Juarez in Mexico.
The woman gets an A+ for creativity but an F for execution.

Famed filmmaker Len Wiseman is getting court-ordered protection from a man he claims keeps showing up to his home, even once posing as a delivery man and using his outdoor spa.
Kate Beckinsale's ex-husband beelined it to court this week and got a temporary restraining order against a 29-year-old man named Jose Lamas, whom Len claims is getting way too comfortable popping up on his property without an invitation.
According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Len claims Lamas recently showed up unannounced at his Laurel Canyon estate, buzzing the front gate and posing as a Postmates delivery man.
Len says when he told the guy over the intercom to scram, Lamas walked around the property and opened a side gate to the backyard, tried to get inside the home and then stripped down to his boxers and got in the jacuzzi.
Len says the guy stayed in the hot tub for 45 minutes ... leaving only when cops showed up and arrested him.
It sounds crazy ... Len says there's surveillance showing Lamas at his house the day before the spa incident ... adding Lamas has been sending him threats on social media.
Among the alleged messages Lamas sent Len on Instagram ... "you are a stupid a** piece of f****** s***" and "come and get some, I will beat you to a pulp."
Len says the guy even reached out to him a couple days after the jacuzzi incident, sending him this message ... "I am sorry to bother you. I am a stone cold loser and I swear I will never bother you again."
But, Len says Lamas did bother him again ... claiming the guy showed up at his home a third time, rattling the front gate and again trying to gain entry.
Len says when cops arrested Lamas for the jacuzzi romp, the guy told officers he was Len's father and he played basketball for the Lakers.
Len says he now fears for his safety ... and a judge signed off on a temporary restraining order, requiring Lamas to stay at least 100 yards away from him and to refrain from contacting Len in any way. There's a hearing set for next month.
