Nikolas Cruz Prosecutors Seeking Death Penalty

Published | Updated

Nikolas Cruz could be put to death by the state of Florida, if he's found guilty for the slaying of the 17 victims in Parkland.

Prosecutors announced Tuesday they will be seeking the death penalty in the case. In new docs, they call the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School "especially heinous, atrocious or cruel" ... as well as "cold, calculated and premeditated."

Also in the docs, obtained by TMZ, prosecutors say they want to pick the mental health expert to evaluate Cruz -- that's presuming the defense raises his mental health as a mitigating factor in the crime.

Heather Locklear Told Cops ... My Boyfriend Choked and Tried to Kill Me

Published | Updated

Heather Locklear's sister told cops the night Heather was arrested she and her boyfriend were arguing ... and the boyfriend tried to choke and kill her.

TMZ has obtained the search warrant cops got days after Heather was arrested for felony domestic violence. We were told cops were looking for a gun, but it turns out they were on the hunt for other items, including Rx pills.

According to a Ventura County Sheriff's deputy, when cops arrived the boyfriend, Christopher Heisser, was standing on the side of the bed leaning over Heather and holding her wrists while she was on the bed.

Cops said they observed Heisser bleeding from the bridge of his nose and redness on his chest. He told deputies Heather attacked and repeatedly struck him -- and he defended himself. He said she bit his face as she acted "crazy, angry and wild."

She told cops the fight started after he lied to her -- she did not elaborate on the lie -- and she threw a can of Red Bull at him. She told cops Heisser choked her to the point she couldn't breathe, but also claimed she had no marks on her neck.

She then became belligerent with the cops, telling them, "Get out of my f****** house," charged at them, grabbed one on the arm and later kicked him in the shin.

Cops say they eventually grabbed her and cuffed her on the ground. But, officers say she was still so belligerent, they had to put a hobble on her to prevent her from kicking them.

Cops got her outside, pinned her against her car and she screamed, "You f****** deserve your kids to die! You f****** deserve it! And when you find yourself in that position, think of me!"

She went on ... "I hope no one f****** burns your entire department down, your f******* police department ..." She then said what triggered the search warrant ... "Get the f*** off my property. Don't ever come on it. All of you are not allowed ... I will shoot you if you come on my property and take that as a threat and f****** put another count against me."

Heather's daughter, Ava, was present when cops were there and said Heather had been drinking. Heisser was arrested hours afterward for DUI.

During the investigation cops discovered she had a .38 Smith & Wesson revolver registered in her name.

When they went to her home with the search warrant, they were looking for the gun, but also ammunition, holsters, paraphernalia related to firearms, prescription bottles, diaries, clothing, mail and various other items.

The search warrant notes Heather had a history of drug and other alcohol-related incidents, including a call in 2012 where she was reported to be suicidal.

Cops did not find a weapon.

As we reported, Heather is now in a medical treatment facility getting help.

Accused Oscar Thief Pleads Not Guilty

Published | Updated

The man accused of stealing Frances McDormand's Oscar is looking way rougher around the edges than he did on Oscar night -- he made his first court appearance Wednesday, pleading not guilty.

Terry Bryant went from tux to jumpsuit for his arraignment on a charge of felony grand theft. As we reported, Bryant was arrested for swiping McDormand's award at the Governors Ball.

Bryant and his attorney, Daniel Brookman, might have an uphill battle in this case. He not only posted his own video kissing Oscar Sunday night, but was also caught leaving the ballroom with the statuette in hand as he posed for cameras.

Frances said she didn't want to press charges, but she has no say in the matter. The Academy is technically the victim, and they've asked for the case to move forward.

Bryant was released without bail after the arraignment, even though prosecutors said he has a repeated burglary history. He's due back in court later this month. Fair to say, his spiritual adviser's got a lot of praying to do.

Oscar Theft Case I'm Praying Terry Through This Mess ... Says Suspect's Rabbi

Published | Updated

The man accused of stealing Frances McDormand's Oscar has quite the support system -- including his rabbi, who says the arrest is more about society than a guy allegedly making off with someone's trophy.

Terry Bryant's arraignment was postponed Wednesday morning, but his attorney, Daniel Brookman, held a news conference outside court, where -- no offense, counselor -- rabbi Naomi Levy stole the show.

Levy told reporters Bryant's "story" served as a commentary on our society and its "obsession with its 15 minutes of fame." Hard to figure what the hell she meant ... especially considering the new video showing Bryant brandishing Frances' Oscar Sunday night, as he exited the Governors Ball!

Bryant's attorney said his client will enter a not guilty plea once he gets in front of the judge -- which we're now hearing should happen late Wednesday or Thursday.

Do you believe in Cher collaborating with Redman and the Wu-Tang Clan?!? You should because U-God says it happened, but the feds gotta step in if the public's ever going to hear it.

We got U-God out in NYC Tuesday and asked him about Martin Shkreli ... you know, the Pharma Bro who dropped $2 mil to buy Wu-Tang's top secret "Once Upon a Time in Shaolin" album in 2015. Well, feds have ordered Shkreli to hand over the album if he can't cover the $7.4 million he owes in restitution.

He told us the record's packed with surprises -- like the Cher collab -- and he'd love to see it go on sale to the public, instead of just one person. U-God also hinted at some internal Wu beef about finances.

Stevie J To Get Prison Time For Being a Deadbeat Dad

Published | Updated

Stevie J wouldn't put up in his child support case ... so he's getting locked up.

The U.S. Attorney Southern District of NY, tells TMZ ... the 'Love & Hip Hop' star will have to turn himself in to authorities April 10 for failure to pay child support. Stevie owes more than $1.3 MILLION in back child support. These cases are usually handled in state court, but the amount owed, the length of time he was in arrears, and the fact that the people involved are in different states all make it a federal case.

The judge also skewered Stevie for ID'ing his probation officer's name on social media.

TMZ broke the story ... Stevie pled guilty for failure to pay child support back in February 2017. He accepted full responsibility and had been ordered to fork over $1,304,835.86. He was also placed on probation for 3 years ... unless he paid off his tab sooner than that.

At the time, federal prosecutors wanted Stevie to do hard time. They finally got their wish.
