5:06 PM PT -- Weinstein's lawyer, Ben Brafman, tells TMZ, "We believe that a fair investigation by Mr. Schneiderman will demonstrate that many of the allegations against Harvey Weinstein are without merit. While Mr. Weinstein's behavior was not without fault, there certainly was no criminality, and at the end of the inquiry it will be clear that Harvey Weinstein promoted more women to key executive positions than any other industry leader and there was zero discrimination at either Miramax or TWC."

The statement goes on ... "If the purpose of the inquiry is to encourage reform throughout the film industry, Mr. Weinstein will embrace the investigation. If the purpose, however, is to scapegoat Mr. Weinstein, he will vigorously defend himself."

Harvey Weinstein and The Weinstein Company are being sued by the New York attorney general for alleged civil rights violations in the workplace.

New York's AG, Eric Schneiderman, just filed suit against Harvey, his brother Bob Weinstein, and the entire Weinstein Co., alleging they violated the state's civil rights laws and NYC's human rights laws during the disgraced movie producer's time there.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Schneiderman says Harvey persistently sexually harassed female employees at TWC by personally creating a hostile work environment and demanding quid pro quo sexual favors for continued employment or career advancement.

He goes on to allege that Harvey used his position at TWC, as well as female employees and company resources, to serve his sexual interests with other women seeking employment or business opportunities with TWC.

Schneiderman also accuses TWC's human resources department of essentially being non-existent ... while going on to claim Bob and the rest of the board of directors were complicit in Harvey's operation by ignoring credible evidence presented to them time and again.

Jeremy London was screaming like a lunatic as he dragged his wife with a moving car ... this according to the 911 call obtained by TMZ.

During the call, Juliet London can be heard -- with her voice cracking at times -- telling the 911 operator that Jeremy is "yelling and screaming at me. He pulled out of the driveway (while) I was holding on to the car. I've hurt my leg and my arm."

She also threatens to report the car as stolen. TMZ broke the story ... Jeremy was busted last week in Jackson County, Mississippi on one count of domestic violence simple assault.

Steve Harvey says the guy suing him for a gigantic commission for one of Harvey's charities is a fraud.

Harvey just filed legal docs firing back at Vincent Dimmock, who claimed in his lawsuit he struck a deal with Harvey back in April to raise $20 million, and in return he was promised 12.5% of everything he raked in. He says he got a bunch of A-listers on board and even a former President ... with pledges totaling $20 mil.

Harvey is calling BS, saying Dimmock originally reached out to him to promote an energy drink, and when that went nowhere Harvey says Dimmock pivoted and falsely told him he had a billionaire in his pocket who would invest big in Harvey's charity.

Steve says he actually flew to Austin to meet the billionaire, and it quickly became evident the guy didn't know Dimmock at all. What's more, Harvey says neither the billionaire nor anyone else connected to Dimmock invested a penny in any of his ventures.

Quavo doesn't have a thing to worry about when it comes to an arrest in the 1 OAK nightclub fight in NYC, because video shows he didn't touch the alleged victim ... according to Quavo's attorney.

Drew Findling tells TMZ ... he's seen surveillance video from inside 1 OAK on Grammy night, and it shows Quavo did NOT "come within 3 feet" of Eric the Jeweler. He says the video does show an altercation, but Quavo wasn't involved.

TMZ broke the story ... Eric says 2 men jumped him in the club, and possibly jacked his $30k chain. He claims Quavo was one of the attackers. Law enforcement sources told us NYPD was preparing to arrest the Migos rapper for the fight.

That's news to Findling who says, based on the video, his client is in the clear.

A huge Hollywood movie producer claims he and his staff are getting gang threats over the Aaron Hernandez movie he's making ... and now he's asking the court for protection.

The man behind the movie is Mark Gordon -- who's produced huge films like "Saving Private Ryan," "The Patriot" and "Molly's Game." He recently announced a movie based on Aaron Hernandez's life called 'All-American Murder.'

Problem is ... Gordon says another Hollywood producer, Todd Guzze, is pissed -- claiming HE owns the rights to the film and has made threats against him and his employees to get Gordon to stop production.

In court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, Gordon says Guzze left a voicemail referencing two huge street gangs, The Latin Kings and The Bloods -- saying Aaron was a member of both gangs and noting that he was "keeping them at bay right now."

Gordon says Guzze threatened physical harm by saying, "I don't need to tell you how [the gangs] work ... They're right here in L.A."

Gordon says the threats continued online. One message said, "Are you ready? I hope it's worth it."

In the docs, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Gordon is asking the judge to keep Guzze at least 300 yards from his office and all of his employees.

We reached out to Guzze, who tells TMZ Sports, "Mark Gordon has taken this too far. Aaron Hernandez is a very sensitive story and I've made him aware on multiple occasions that no one is doing this story but the family and the original partners that were closely tied to Aaron and his estate."

The moron Logan Paul placed under citizens arrest for breaking into his house is already doing his time, after striking a plea deal ... TMZ has learned.

The L.A. City Attorney's Office tells TMZ ... the 20-year-old man appeared in court Thursday to enter a no contest plea for aggravated trespass. He got a 30 day jail sentence, 24 months probation and must stay away from Logan's entire block.

TMZ broke the story, the YouTube star took matters into his own hands Tuesday night, arresting the guy for breaking into his San Fernando Valley home. He found the perp sitting in the living room ... charging his phone.

Atlanta Hawks player DeAndre' Bembry was arrested early Friday morning -- after cops say they clocked him hitting 128 mph in a 55!!!!!!!

Yeah, we asked the cops what he was driving -- a purple Dodge Charger.

The Atlanta Police Dept. tells us ... cops were monitoring speed on the I-85 around 12:20 AM when Bembry's purple speed machine came blazing through ... so they tracked him down and pulled him over.

The 23-year-old -- who was a 1st round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft -- was arrested for reckless driving and speeding.

So far, Bembry has played in 18 games this year -- averaging 4.8 points a game and just over 2 rebound.

Bembry had a solid career at Saint Joseph's -- where he was a 2-time 1st team All-Atlantic 10 player.

6:25 AM PT -- Bella's security detail actually tracked the suspect as he was leaving the area around her building Thursday night. We're told police eventually nabbed him about a mile north of her apartment.

Bella Hadid felt a guy who's allegedly been threatening her on the Internet got a little too close -- and, thanks to her quick thinking, police were able to bust him ... TMZ has learned.

The 37-year-old man was arrested Thursday around 9:30 PM ... according to our law enforcement sources. We're told the model's security called police after she noticed the man had posted a photo of her apartment building.

Cops believe the suspect is the same man who's been sending Bella messages over social media, which she considered threatening, since October.

Quavo is about to get a new wrist accessory -- handcuffs -- law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Our sources tell TMZ ... NYPD detectives have gotten in contact with the Migos rapper's attorney, Drew Findling, informing him they have enough evidence to arrest Quavo. We're told an arrest warrant hasn't been issued but it's only a matter of time.

Findling tells us his client's an innocent man and hopes for the sake of the NYPD and the Manhattan DA's office, they don't embarrass themselves by hooking his client up and prosecuting him.

The rapper struck a plea deal that'll place him in an intervention program instead of behind bars following his January 2017 arrest for carrying a Glock and 2 magazines of ammo in his car.

According to legal docs obtained by TMZ ... Stitches can't possess any firearms until he obtains a gun license. He must also complete 25 hours of community service and a firearm safety course.

The man who tried rushing Larry Nassar in court last week says he's giving away the $31,000 people have raised for his defense to charity.

Randall Margraves -- the father of 3 of Nassar's victims -- released a statement Thursday, saying he'd be donating all leftover contributions from the $31k in a recently-established GoFundMe account in his name to several charities that support survivors of sexual abuse.

Margraves says he's willing to refund anyone who already donated to the account, and that anything left over after March 9 will be given to charities like Small Talk, RAVE and the Firecracker Foundation.

As we reported ... Margraves tried attacking Nassar in court last Friday, telling the judge he wanted alone time with the convict as part of his new sentence -- up to 125 years in prison.

Quentin Tarantino is issuing a mea culpa after old comments he made live on the air about Roman Polanski's child rape victim were met with rage.

Tarantino issued a statement Thursday, apologizing to Polanski's then-13-year-old victim, Samantha Geimer, after a 2003 interview with Howard Stern surfaced, during which he said the sex was "not rape" ... and that Geimer "wanted to have it."

Geimer addressed the controversy Tuesday, saying Tarantino's comments were "wrong" and "I bet he knows it."

In his apology, obtained by Indiewire, Tarantino responded, saying he's sorry for his "cavalier remarks." He also explicitly acknowledges Geimer "WAS raped by Roman Polanski" ... adding he "incorrectly played devil's advocate for the sake of being provocative."

Tarantino adds ... "So, Ms. Geimer, I was ignorant, and insensitive, and above all, incorrect. I am sorry Samantha."

Former 3 Doors Down guitarist Matt Roberts died at the hands of a physician who was negligent and a pharmacy that enabled the doctor ... so claims Matt's estate in a new lawsuit.

The estate named Dr. Richard Snellgrove and Rite Aid as the ones responsible for Matt's death ... this according to new legal docs obtained by TMZ.

The estate claims Snellgrove's the one who prescribed high levels of opioids and benzodiazepines to Matt for years prior to his death. The suit claims Snellgrove has already been indicted in Alabama for Matt's death. The estate also faults Rite Aid for failing to comply with the Controlled Substances Act.

TMZ broke the story ... Matt died of an apparent overdose. He was scheduled to perform at a charity event when he was found dead in his hotel room. Matt's dad believed the possible OD was accidental.

Ex-"Dance Moms" star Maddie Ziegler's been living a nightmare for 5 months ... and she's finally had enough, because she just got cops involved.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Maddie's family filed a police report with LAPD, telling cops someone hacked Maddie's phone back in September. The hacker's been hitting up 15-year-old Maddie, saying he or she's gotten a hold of pics and messages.

We're told LAPD's investigating, but here's what's a bit bizarre -- sources say the hacker hasn't demanded money and neither the pics nor messages have been released ... at least so far. It's unclear what the hacker wants.

The singer who accused Nick Carter of allegedly raping her in 2002 has filed a report with cops about the incident.

We're told Melissa Schuman -- a singer from the girl group, Dream -- filed a report alleging sexual assault Wednesday with the Santa Monica Police Department. Law enforcement sources tell us the report will be handed off to the LAPD's Special Crimes unit -- a unit established after the Weinstein allegations.

As we reported ... Schuman claimed Carter raped her when she was 18 and he was 22. She says Carter forcibly performed oral sex on her and made her reciprocate. From there, Schuman claims Carter took her to a bedroom and forced her to have intercourse.

Nick has maintained the sexual encounters between them were always consensual.

Meek Mill and his legal team have been dragging the name of the judge that revoked his probation through the mud, and her new high-profile attorney, A Charles Peruto Jr., is prepared to put an end to it.

Judge Genece Brinkley is threatening to sue Meek over bogus claims that she tried to extort favors from the rapper, and Wednesday on "TMZ Live" Peruto defended his client, saying there's now a court transcript that proves they've been lying all along, and Meek's lawyer is nothing more than a "circus clown."

Peruto says Meek and co. have gone too far by trying to fight Meek's legal battle in the street instead of the court room, including having the Governor call and try to sway Brinkley's decision.
