Myles Garrett Released From Hospital After Rollover Crash ... Agent Says 'Nothing Is Broken'

Published | Updated

Myles Garrett is thankfully going to be OK following his frightening rollover car crash Monday ... the NFL superstar has been released from the hospital -- and his agent says tests showed he broke no bones in the wreck.

Garrett was transported to a local Ohio medical facility after cops say he flipped his gray Porsche 911 Turbo S at around 2:58 PM in Sharon Township ... but according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, he was released late Monday evening.

His agent, Nicole Lynn, told Cleveland.com "nothing is broken" on his body ... though it remains unclear if the accident will cause the defensive end to miss any time with the Browns.

Authorities say they've launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Pelissero reported Tuesday morning Garrett was swerving to avoid an animal on the road just before he lost control of his ride.

Cops say they do not suspect Garrett was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the wreck.

Garrett has started all three games for Cleveland this season -- recording three sacks and seven total tackles.

'Concussion' Doc Bennet Omalu Slams Tua For Returning To Game ... 'Your Life Is Worth More Than $10 Billion!!!'

Tua Tagovailoa was foolish for returning to the Bills game on Sunday after slamming his head on the turf ... so says famed neuropathologist Bennet Omalu -- who tells TMZ Sports the Dolphins quarterback put his life at risk by making the comeback.

Dr. Omalu -- who's the real-life inspiration for the famous Will Smith "Concussion" movie -- says that under no circumstances should Tagovailoa have come back into the contest in Miami after he was initially knocked out of it.

Omalu says he suspects Tagovailoa suffered a concussion based on everything he saw on the game's broadcast ... and he said the 24-year-old should have protected himself and his future and stayed on the sideline the rest of the day.

"Your life should be worth more to you than any amount of money," Omalu said. "Your life is worth more than $10 billion, 'cause you can't replace your life. You have only one life."

But Omalu, who discovered CTE, isn't faulting the NFL or the Dolphins one bit for allowing Tagovailoa back under center.

"The duty falls on the players," he said. "The NFL did not point a gun on his head and say, 'You must go back to play.' He could have said, 'No.'"

For Tagovailoa's part, he insisted he did not suffer a head injury during the play ... but rather, he said he hurt his back.

"I got up, and that's kind of why I stumbled," the signal-caller told reporters after Miami secured the 21-19 win over Buffalo. "My back kind of locked up on me. But for the most part, I'm good. Passed whatever concussion protocol they had."

The NFL Players Association has launched an investigation into the handling of the incident.

UPDATE

One witness who actually helped Garrett and his passenger get out of the car following the accident tell us Garrett complained of wrist pain. The witness says the football player also appeared to be bleeding from both his ankle and chest areas.

Cleveland Browns superstar defensive end Myles Garrett's Porsche flipped several times during a single-car wreck after practice on Monday ... but luckily, he escaped with only minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol shared the news just minutes ago ... saying 26-year-old Garrett and a passenger were transported to a nearby hospital after getting into the accident.

Cops say alcohol or other drugs did not play a factor ... and both passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

WKYC in Cleveland obtained pictures of the crash ... showing Garrett's Porsche in banged-up shape.

Judging by the wheels, the car appears to be a 911 Turbo S ... which starts around $215K. The 911 Turbo S has over 600 horsepower, does 0-60 in under 3 seconds, and has a top speed over 200 MPH.

It's unclear if weather contributed to the accident, but it was raining in Berea, Ohio on Monday ... which is where the Browns' practice facility is located.

Garrett and the Browns are coming off a big win over the rival Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday ... and he had 2 total tackles in the 29-17 matchup.

Garrett -- the #1 overall pick in the 2017 Draft out of Texas A&M -- is one of the best players in the NFL with 61.5 career sacks and 201 total tackles over 6 seasons.

We've reached out to law enforcement for more details.

The Browns travel to Atlanta to play the Falcons on Sunday ... although it's unclear if Garrett will be able to suit up.

Bills Vs. Dolphins Josh Allen Fan Kicked In Face ... In Wild Brawl Outside Stadium

Published

A Josh Allen fan was roughed up badly outside of the Bills vs. Dolphins game on Sunday -- taking a foot straight to the face ... before he was kicked and punched repeatedly.

The incident all went down at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami at some point in the midst of Buffalo's 21-19 loss to the 'Fins.

It's unclear what started the melee -- but footage from the scene shows a couple Dolphins fans got into it with two Bills fans ... and the Buffalo tandem got the worst of it by far.

You can see in the footage, both Bills fans were thrown to the ground ... and while the man in the Allen jersey was trying to get up, he got kicked in the teeth. The other Buffalo fan was jumped on as well.

Another person in an Allen jersey attempted to break things up -- but as the Buffalo fan was down -- a man in a Tua Tagovailoa jersey punched him in the head. Another shirtless guy jumped in and kicked him multiple times as well.

No word on how the situation got resolved or if there were any serious injuries -- we've reached out to cops, but so far, we haven't heard back yet.

Bills OC Ken Dorsey Throws Tantrum In Booth After Loss ... Slams Headset, Tablet

UPDATE

2:52 PM PT -- Dorsey is explaining his wild outburst ... saying the matchup felt like a playoff game, and he happened to get a bit too frustrated with the mishap.

UPDATE

Dorsey says it's something he will learn from ... and correct the mistakes the team made on the field -- and in the booth -- moving forward.

UPDATE

Bills OC Ken Dorsey was so pissed in the waning moments of Buffalo's loss to the Dolphins ... he absolutely LOST IT in the booth, slamming his headset and tablet!

Dorsey was frustrated the Bills couldn't get a play off as the clock ticked towards zero ... after receiver Isaiah McKenzie failed to get out of bounds after receiving a pass from Josh Allen.

Broadcast cameras showed Dorsey in the booth, and he was livid, taking out his frustration on his headset and tablet.

Allen tried to get the Bills' offense lined up for one final play, but time ran out ... and they ended up losing, 21-19, to the Dolphins -- their first loss on the season.

After the game, McKenzie said he was trying to get out of his bounds, but knew Tyler Bass' (Buffalo's place-kicker) range ... unfortunately for Buffalo, things didn't work out.

"There was nine seconds left, and I was trying to get to the hash," McKenzie said. "I kind of got bumped by going to the ref, and it just went down from there.

"If I could take it back, I would probably just go up field, get down, put it on the hash myself, and live to fight another down."

Jerry Jeudy was so furious with Shannon Sharpe for criticizing his play on Sunday night -- he took to Twitter to fire away at the Broncos legend ... and his burn featured no chill at all.

Sharpe blasted the Denver wide receiver for dropping some passes in the Broncos' ugly win over the San Francisco 49ers -- at one point tweeting during the contest, "Jeudy does all this route running in the off season and can't catch a FCKING pass."

When Jeudy got wind of the criticism following the game -- he didn't take it lying down.

The 23-year-old quote-tweeted Sharpe's words ... and said, "And you be doing all that talking during the season while your breathe be smelling like your ass."

He added, "#BigWin."

Jeudy eventually deleted the tweet. He said in another post later Sunday night, "Lmao ima be the bigger man and let him have that lol good win today doe #GoBroncoz."

Sharpe has yet to respond -- but we're sure some sort of clap back from the now-polarizing TV personality is coming.

Jeudy, meanwhile, has not gotten off to the best start this season ... catching just seven of his 16 targets in three games for 130 yards and one TD.

Denver is 2-1, though ... and clearly, that's all that's on Jeudy's mind now.

Brett Favre Also Wanted Welfare Money For Football Facility ... Texts Show

Published

Two years after Brett Favre allegedly collected millions in welfare money to fund a volleyball arena at Southern Mississippi, a former state official claims the NFL legend wanted more cash for a football facility, new court docs show.

Ex-Mississippi governor Phil Bryant's attorneys say text messages show Favre reached out to Bryant again in 2019 regarding financing a potential indoor practice facility at his alma mater ... this, after already allegedly taking around $5 million for the volleyball arena.

Despite being warned of the serious legal risks, Bryant's legal team claims Favre "continued to press for state funds" ... and wanted up to $2 million for projects, according to ESPN.

The docs state Favre told Bryant via text ... "We obviously need your help big time and time is working against us. And we feel that your name is the perfect choice for this facility and we are not taking No for an answer! You are a Southern Miss Alumni, and folks need to know you are also a supporter of the University."

Bryant responded with caution, saying ... "We are going to get there. This was a great meeting. But we have to follow the law. I am to[o] old for Federal Prison."

Bryant also alleges he spoke with former Southern Miss prez Rodney Bennett, who claimed he "asked Brett not to do the things he's doing to seek funding from state agencies and the legislature."

Favre -- who is listed as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by the state of Mississippi over misspent welfare money -- has previously said through his attorneys he did not know where the funding for the facility came from.

Former Mississippi Department of Human Services director John Davis pled guilty to conspiring to defraud the State of Mississippi out of more than $70 million in federal funds on Thursday.

In the meantime, Favre’s SiriusXM Radio football show has been put on ice.

Rihanna I'm Goin' to the Super Bowl!!! Headlining Halftime Show

UPDATE

12:02 PM PT -- The NFL just tweeted with official confirmation ... Rihanna's the headliner! Jay-Z says in the tweet, "Rihanna is a generational talent, a woman of humble beginnings who has surpassed expectations at every turn. A person born on the small island of Barbados who became one of the most prominent artists ever. Self-made in business and entertainment."

UPDATE

12:00 PM PT -- Rihanna just posted a pic of her hand holding an NFL football. NFL sources tell TMZ ... she's in!!!

UPDATE

The Super Bowl Halftime Show could be lit beyond words, because TMZ has learned the NFL and Roc Nation have been in talks with Rihanna to headline.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... there have been multiple discussions with Rihanna and her team. We do not know if she's a firm go, but our sources say the NFL may reveal who they've locked up as early as Sunday afternoon via tweet.

Rihanna makes a lot of sense, because she's a Roc Nation artist, so it's an easy call for Jay-Z. BTW, Rihanna has been teasing her new music for more than a year, and if she's ready to release it there's no better platform than the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

We're told there have also been discussions with another performer, but it's not either/or -- in other words, there would be at least 2 performers on stage.

INVESTIGATING THE SECRETS

It's interesting ... Rihanna turned down an offer to headline at the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show because of her opposition to the way Colin Kaepernick was treated by the NFL.

TMZ broke the story ... the NFL asked Taylor Swift months ago to headline the Halftime Show, but she took a pass.

We're told she'd like to do the Super Bowl, but only after she rerecords all 6 of her early albums, and she's only rerecorded 2 so far.

"DOES HE EVEN WANT IT BACK?"

Reggie Bush still doesn't have his Heisman Trophy back -- and his old USC teammate, LenDale White, is still furious over it ... saying the NCAA "looks absolutely foolish" for its role in it all.

Bush initially earned the trophy back in 2005 -- but it was pulled from him after investigators found he and his family received impermissible benefits during his time as a Trojan.

But, following the implementation of the new name, image and likeness rules in 2021, Bush argued it should be returned.

The Heisman Trust said it would have no issues with that if the NCAA reinstated his status -- but the org. declined to do so ... and White said he LOATHES that it's effectively barring Bush from getting the trophy by doing that.

"It's despicable," said the former Trojans tailback, who was in the TMZ office with former NFL star Chris Johnson. "When you think about it, obviously we know he made a mistake back then and he paid for it. He knows it. It was 20 years. Now, it's time to just finally welcome him back. It's been too long."

Bush himself would clearly still welcome the award back to his mantle -- in fact, he just recently starred in a Wendy's commercial poking fun at the NCAA over the drama.

White says he's optimistic the organization will eventually come around on the issue ... and help return the trophy to Bush.

"Hopefully, they come within their senses," he said, "and make something right."

Johnson and White spoke about a bunch of other hot-button NFL topics in a lengthy chat with Babcock ... check out the full interview below!

LenDale White Derrick Henry Isn't Washed!!! ... Huge Games Are Coming

"TENNESSEE IS BUILT FOR TIGHT GAMES"

R-E-L-A-X, fantasy football players ... Derrick Henry's big games are coming soon -- so says former Titans star LenDale White, who tells TMZ Sports the big tailback is NOT washed.

White joined Chris Johnson in the TMZ office this week ... and guaranteed Henry would be back to form sooner than later after struggling in the opening two weeks of the NFL season.

"I honestly don't believe Derrick has lost his step at all," White said. "I feel like once he gets on the right track and [head coach Mike] Vrabel gets those guys going, he'll be Derrick Henry of old -- King Henry."

The words are music to Tennessee fans' ears -- 'cause Henry really has not looked good so far this year. He only has 107 total rushing yards and 1 TD ... and is averaging a mere 3.1 yards per carry.

But White says there's a lot of factors that go into all of that -- including injuries and troubles in the passing game -- which he believes will all get worked out soon and allow Henry to thrive once again.

White and Johnson were also optimistic that their old Titans squad will flip around their season after starting 0-2.

Henry and the rest of the Titans will look to prove the guys right later Sunday -- when they take on the Raiders at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Chris Johnson Hopeful For Hall Of Fame Nod ... But Ex-Teammate Guarantees It'll Happen!!!

Published

Chris Johnson is now one of 129 people hoping to make the Hall of Fame in 2023 ... but according to his former teammate, LenDale White, he doesn't need to sweat it -- 'cause he WILL get a bust in Canton next summer.

CJ2K -- one of the best running backs in NFL history -- was officially nominated for the HOF for the first time earlier this week ... alongside 128 other former stars, including Joe Thomas and Darrelle Revis.

Johnson swung by the TMZ office with White just a day after he got the good news -- and he was pumped ... saying he was hopeful it'd now all eventually lead to him getting the call to the Hall later this season.

"Just to be a nominee, it's a blessing," he said. "Hopefully I can make it all the way through. We gon' see what happens."

But according to White, who played two seasons with Johnson in Tennessee in 2008 and 2009, the former Titans great doesn't need to fret about it too much ... guaranteeing the 37-year-old will make it this year.

"He will make it all the way through," White said. "I mean, I feel that way."

Johnson played 10 years in the league, rushing for 9,651 yards and scoring 64 total TDs. In 2009, he had one of the greatest seasons ever by an RB, running for 2,006 yards and 14 scores.

White and Johnson both think those numbers should be enough to get him in ... but they did acknowledge if he had played just a few more years and stat-piled during that timeframe, it wouldn't even be a question.

Johnson, though, said he had no regrets about how his career played out.

The first cut for the '23 class will be in November. The finalists will be then announced in January.

While Johnson waits for the call, he and White will continue talkin' football on their "Smash & Dash" podcast ... which the guys say includes a whole lot of other topics -- including dating!

Taylor Swift Turned Down Super Bowl Offer ... Not Happening Until She's Rerecorded First 6 Albums

Published | Updated

Taylor Swift was, in fact, asked to perform at Super Bowl LVII, TMZ has learned, but turned the offer down ... and we know why.

Sources with direct knowledge of the Super Bowl halftime show tell us ... Swift was approached months ago by SB honchos, asking if she'd headline. We're told Taylor was clear ... she didn't want to perform until she finished rerecording all of her first 6 albums.

As you probably know, back in 2019, Scooter Braun was part of a group that acquired the rights to her first 6 albums. Taylor was pissed, saying she was "sad and grossed out." Braun has since sold the master recordings ... and Taylor vowed to rerecord them to, in effect, regain ownership. She's already rerecorded and released "Red" and "Fearless."

We're told Taylor would like to headline a Super Bowl halftime show, but now it's an issue of timing. It's possible she could finish the remaining 4 albums -- "Taylor Swift," "Speak Now," "1989," and "Reputation" -- in the next year. That would open the possibility of a 2024 appearance, but it all depends on finishing the rerecords.

Our Super Bowl sources tell us ... they're still looking for a female popstar for the big performance.

O.J. Simpson Steelers Need To Bench Trubisky ... Start Kenny Pickett!!!

Published | Updated

O.J. Simpson has a solution to the Steelers' offensive struggles, and it starts with making a change at the QB position by benching Mitchell Trubisky and starting Kenny Pickett.

Simpson broke down why the Steelers' offense seemingly stalled all night against the Browns during their Thursday Night Football game (CLE won 29-17), saying Trubisky isn't the answer under center.

"I don't see these guys being inspired by their quarterback play," Simpson said. "I don't know what Kenny Pickett is able to do, but I'm willing to bet anybody that he'll score more than four touchdowns in the next three games."

"[The] problem is Pittsburgh isn't going to win any 14-10 games. They're gonna have to score points to win, and I just don't see that happening with Trubisky."

Steelers fans have been clamoring for Pickett -- who was selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft -- after watching Trubisky struggle to move the ball against Cincy and New England.

Juice said Trubisky -- who finished the game with 207 yards and zero touchdowns -- "wasn't that bad," but the body language of his receivers concerned the disgraced HOF running back.

"It just wasn't good, especially Diontae Johnson," O.J. said.

O.J. said he didn't realize how devastating the loss of T.J. Watt -- who tore his pectoral muscle in Week 1 against the Bengals -- was to the fabric and identity of the Steelers team.

Simpson thinks Watt's absence on defense -- he could return in six weeks possibly -- coupled with their lackluster offense is going to make head coach Mike Tomlin's job harder this season.

Tom Brady just gave every Buccaneers fan a heart attack -- pretending to cut off his finger while filming a video ... but don't worry, it's all fake!

TB12 made the joke while hanging out with celebrity chef Nick DiGiovanni recently.

In the clip that the GOAT shared to his Instagram page, he asked Nick how to toss a knife on the cutting board for the camera.

"Just take it, and put it into the board," Nick said

Brady did just that -- but then suddenly screamed, "F***!"

The CGI is pretty good ... making it all look real -- but, Brady is just fine.

The vid is pretty ironic considering Brady is dealing with an actual finger injury in real life -- after he hit it on a play against the New Orleans Saints during their game last Sunday.

Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles, though, said Friday the guy will be all right for Sunday's game against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

Taylor Swift Sorry Swifties ... I'm Not Performing SB Halftime Show!!!

Published | Updated

Taylor Swift fans might think their favorite musician is lined up to play the next Super Bowl Halftime show, but it just ain't true ... TMZ has learned.

Social media was on fire Friday after TS fans thought the NFL dropped a few Easter eggs that hinted at Taylor being the big performer. However, we've spoken to sources with direct knowledge who tell us Taylor's NOT going to be performing at Super Bowl LVII in Arizona.

As for those Easter Eggs, the NFL sent out a press release at midnight announcing Apple Music would take Pepsi's spot as the sponsor of the show. If you're not familiar, Taylor's been making a lot of midnight announcements lately, so fans believed there was a connection.

INVESTIGATING THE SECRETS

What's more, Taylor's had a deal in place with Coca-Cola for years, making a Pepsi halftime show impossible ... so with Pepsi out of the picture, fans thought it made sense for Taylor.

Of course, whoever gets the gig will have big shoes to fill ... Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent made headlines as one of the best shows of all time during the big game in Los Angeles earlier this year.

Super Bowl LVII Taylor Swift Performing At Halftime???? ... NFL Drops Major Hint

Published | Updated

Gear up Swifties -- Taylor Swift could be this season's Super Bowl halftime show act ... at least, that's what the musician's fans are thinking after the NFL appeared to drop a big clue into it all on Thursday night.

Here's the deal -- back in May, Pepsi pulled out of its longstanding partnership with the league and its Big Game's halftime show ... and on Thursday night, the NFL announced it's finally replaced the soft drink company with Apple Music as the new sponsor.

In its announcement, the league made no mention of a potential halftime performer for Super Bowl LVII ... but, according to Swift fans, it didn't need to -- because the timing of the release said it all.

The league curiously dropped the news at midnight -- something that's been associated with Swift for YEARS. She's put out albums twice since 2020 that were released at that time, and she's sung the word "midnight" hundreds of times in her tracks.

Swift is also set to release a new album next month ... titled "Midnights."

Taylor has never done an SB show before -- with many believing she wouldn't take the gig due to being locked in a sponsorship deal with Pepsi's biggest competitor, Coca-Cola.

With Apple Music now in, though, it seems Swift would be free and clear to belt out "Shake It Off" to millions during the Super Bowl's break on Feb. 12 without issue.
