How Brittney Griner's Wife Cherelle Stuck By The WNBA Star

Published | Updated

Brittney Griner's been through plenty of ups and downs over the course of her professional and personal lives, and her wife Cherelle's been there for many of the athlete's hills and valleys.

The WNBA star and her spouse met during their college days, although they didn't start dating until after graduation ... and their married life was disrupted when the basketball player was unexpectedly detained on the other side of the world.

We're going to take a look at the background of the professional athlete's spouse ... and see how she dealt with her wife's ordeal.

Cherelle's A Lawyer Based In Atlanta

Cherelle started studying law at North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham in 2019, according to People.

The WNBA star's spouse remained at the institution for three years before she graduated with honors in 2022.

Brittney revealed her wife had officially become a lawyer the following April by sharing a set of photos on her Instagram account, and expressed she was "abundantly proud" of Cherelle in the caption.

The professional basketball player wrote about the "hard work, determination, and passion" her spouse put into her degree.

The Pair Met In College ... And Eventually Started A Family

The Griners' love story runs deep and way, way, back, as they first met while they were both attending Baylor University in the early 2010s.

The thing is, Cherelle wasn't Brittney's first spouse ... the WNBA star had been briefly married to fellow professional basketball player Glory Johnson, and although Brittney filed for an annulment after just 28 days of marriage, their divorce wasn't finalized until 2016.

Griner and Baylor University alum Cherelle eventually reconnected, and they got engaged in August 2018, tying the knot the following June.

Cherelle and Brittney later started a family with the birth of their son Bash, who arrived in July 2024.

Cherelle Advocated For Brittney While The Athlete Was Imprisoned In Russia

Brittney made global headlines in March 2022 -- she had been detained in Moscow by Russian authorities the previous month after vape cartridges containing cannabis oil were found in her luggage during a trip to play ball in Russia.

The professional athlete later pleaded guilty to bringing less than a gram of cannabis oil into the country ... and although she claimed she'd done so unintentionally, she was sentenced to nine years in prison.

Cherelle expressed she was "hopeless" at times while her spouse was detained, in an interview with People -- although she later said she never had to "completely give up hope" about her wife's situation.

Griner was ultimately returned to the United States in December 2022 as part of a prisoner swap, and her wife recalled the moment she was able to reunite with her spouse as "overwhelmingly happy."

How Connor McCaffery Went From Playing To Coaching Basketball

Caitlin Clark's earned herself plenty of supporters over the course of her career in collegiate and professional basketball -- and it looks like her boyfriend Connor McCaffery's one of her biggest fans!

The WNBA star and the assistant coach have been together ever since 2023 ... although he'd already made a name for himself in the sports world.

We're going to check out the background of the former college athlete and see what the Indiana Fever's point guard has had to say about her relationship.

Connor's A Former College Basketball Player

Clark's not the only one with experience on the court, as her boyfriend formerly played guard for the University of Iowa team.

The former college athlete picked up several distinctions for his work on and off the court, and he was a five-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, according to Hawkeye Sports.

And it turns out basketball runs in McCaffery's family, because his father Fran worked as a coach for much of his life.

The senior McCaffery coached at the University of Iowa for 15 years ... and he switched over to working at his alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania, in 2025.

McCaffery Works As An Assistant Coach

McCaffery graduated from the University of Iowa in 2023, and he subsequently started his professional career as a team assistant for the Indiana Pacers ... and just in case you forgot, Clark plays for the Indiana Fever.

McCaffery remained with the team for one season before he began following in his father's footsteps, taking on an assistant coaching position at Butler University in September 2024.

Butler's head coach, Thad Matta, issued a statement at the time to speak about hiring McCaffery, and expressed he was "excited for the impact" the new assistant coach would have on the school's team, according to Fox News.

Clark shared her reaction to her boyfriend's new venture on her Instagram Story, writing she was "so happy" for her partner.

Caitlin And Connor Started Dating In 2023

Clark celebrated McCaffery's birthday in July 2024 with photos of him on her Instagram, and she quipped he might finally be able to "find a way to outshoot me" in her post's caption.

The assistant coach responded to his girlfriend's message in the comments, claiming he would "keep letting you win those shooting contests."

Travis Hunter's earned himself plenty of achievements over the years ... and we think he's counting his marriage to Leanna Lenee as one of them!

The social media personality started off as a friend of the Heisman Trophy-winning athlete before she became his girlfriend and eventually transitioned into the role of his wife -- all within a few years.

We're going to take a look at the background of the football player's partner ... and see how her reaction to one of her husband's biggest accolades made waves across the internet.

Leanna And Travis Met When She Was A Teenager

Lenee revealed she was just 19 years old when she first met Travis in a video she shared on her TikTok account in 2024.

The social media personality, who holds a degree from Georgia's Kennesaw State University, became Hunter's girlfriend in February 2022 ... although she confessed she'd initially turned down his advances in a video shared on their shared YouTube account.

The athlete and his partner became engaged two years later, and she commemorated the occasion by sharing a set of photos on her Instagram account that February.

Hunter and Lenee eventually made things official between them at a wedding ceremony in Tennessee in May 2025.

Leanna Became The Subject Of Controversy In Late 2024

The thing is, Lenee hasn't always been viewed favorably by many of Hunter's fans, and she received criticism after a video showing coach Deion Sanders reportedly telling her to stand up after her now-husband won the Heisman Trophy went viral on X in December 2024.

The social media figure garnered even further online heat after a second video showing her apparently being rude to her partner while taking photos with his fans surfaced on social media.

Hunter came to his then-fiancée's defense while streaming on Twitch that same month, according to People, and he claimed she'd cried herself to sleep after drinking what he described as an "odee amount" of alcohol.

He then said Lenee hadn't done anything wrong when he was with his fans, and asserted she was spending time with his family while he took photos with the event's attendees.

Lenee Shared A Video Apparently Showing Her Dealing With The Backlash

The social media figure shared a video apparently shot around the period when she was receiving criticism from Hunter's fans on her TikTok account in July 2025.

In the clip, Lenee is seen sobbing and apparently talking to an off-screen figure, although her original audio had been replaced.

She also wrote a lengthy message in her post's caption and expressed she wished she "could go back and hug December me," whom she didn't "recognize."

Many of her fans left supportive messages in the post's comments section, including WNBA player Angel Reese, who wrote she was "proud" of Hunter's wife.

How Breanna Stewart Started A Family With Her Wife Marta Xargay Casademont

Published | Updated

Breanna Stewart's had a whirlwind career in the WNBA ... and her love story with her wife Marta Xargay Casademont has been just as crazy!

While the pair took their time in the early stages of their relationship, they got engaged, got married, and started a family all within a year -- how's that for moving fast?!

We're going to take a look at how the athletes' respective careers in sports led to them wanting to spend the rest of their lives -- off court, of course -- with each other.

Marta's Played Basketball At The Olympic Level

Marta, who's originally from Spain, is a retired former professional basketball player -- how's that for a common interest?!

The athlete's been involved with various teams in her home country, and she earned a silver medal as part of the 2016 Spanish Olympic women's basketball team.

Marta was drafted into the WNBA in 2015, and she spent a single season with the Phoenix Mercury, where she played guard.

She eventually announced her retirement from the sport in 2020 in a post on her Instagram account, writing she would "always treasure the memories that I created" in her professional career.

Marta And Breanna Met While Playing On The Same Team

Marta and Breanna initially met when the latter joined the Dynamo Kursk, a Russian professional basketball team, in 2018, although they weren't close at first, according to People.

The WNBA star claimed she was "nervous to do anything" with her now-wife at first, and the Spanish athlete expressed her spouse "didn't want to mess it up" when they were initially getting to know each other.

The pair's connection grew closer when Breanna ruptured her Achilles tendon and had to recover at home in the United States.

They eventually decided to make things official, and the power forward popped the big question on a hike outside of Phoenix, Arizona, in May 2021.

The Pair Had A Baby ... One Month After Getting Married

Stewart and Marta tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony at their home in July 2021.

And they didn't exactly wait long to start a family either, because they welcomed daughter Ruby that August!

Stewart spoke to People shortly after her child's arrival, and described motherhood as "bigger than anything else that I've done."

The athletes waited a bit longer to bring their second child, son Theo, into their lives, as he was born in October 2023.

How Mel Owens Upset Much Of Bachelor Nation

Published | Updated

Mel Owens has been in the media plenty of times over his life, which has seen him go from being a professional football player to a sports lawyer -- before signing on as the second "Golden Bachelor" on the popular television show.

The thing is, the sports figure landed himself in hot water in 2025, when he told producers he wasn't looking to date anyone over the age of 60 ... which caused a stir within Bachelor Nation.

We're going to check out what the television figure's done to make a name for himself prior to his appearance on the hit ABC series ... and see what he's said about his past comments.

Mel Played College And Pro Football Back In The Day

Owens began his athletic career at the University of Michigan, where he served as one of the institution's linebackers for several years before ending his college career in 1980.

Mel brought his talents as a linebacker to the Los Angeles Rams, and he joined the team in 1981.

The professional athlete spent the entirety of his football career with the team, retiring from the NFL in 1989.

Following his stint with the Rams, Owens became a lawyer focusing on sports-related injuries and incidents ... he married and had two sons with a woman named Fabiana Owens in 2002, according to Us Weekly, and divorced his wife in 2020.

Mel Was Picked As The Next Golden Bachelor In April 2025

Owens' designation as the second Golden Bachelor was revealed to Bachelor Nation fans in April 2025.

The former professional football player will be following the first Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner -- who married and quickly divorced his own season's winner, Theresa Nist.

Jesse Palmer, who hosts "The Bachelor" and its various spinoffs, described Owens as a perfect candidate for the program in an interview with Us Weekly, where he said the former athlete had been through "hills and valleys in his personal life."

Palmer went on to describe Owens as a "great lead" and stated the lawyer "really wants to find a special person" through his involvement with the program.

Mel Set An Age Range For His Season Of The Show ... And Later Apologized

The thing is, Owens upset much of Bachelor Nation when he was asked his dating preferences by show producers, answering he only wanted women within the 45-60 age range to appear on his season of "The Golden Bachelor," according to an interview for the "In The Trenches" podcast.

Mel stated he'd told producers he wanted all the women "to be fit" and asked them to stay away from "artificial hips and the wigs."

Owens later told Glamour he'd spoken to a friend about his comments regarding the age of the show's contestants, and claimed he didn't realize they'd "hit that hard" in their conversation, after which he wanted to publicly apologize for what he'd said.

He then described the fact he'd made the statements as a "mistake" and expressed he would be working to earn back the trust of both the contestants and viewers "every single moment that I’m on the show."

We're going to take a look into the background of the basketball player's husband and see what led the two all the way to the altar.

Hroniss Was A Professional Football Player

Grasu's been a football player ever since his youth, and he joined the roster of the University of Oregon -- which Ionescu also attended -- in 2010.

Grasu was part of the squad that won the Rose Bowl twice, and he went on to become a third-round pick by the Chicago Bears in the 2015 NFL Draft.

The professional football player spent a total of seven seasons in the NFL as a center, and he played for several teams, including the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens.

Hroniss And Sabrina Went Instagram Official In 2021

How Paul Skenes' Girlfriend Livvy Dunne Made Her Millions

Published | Updated

Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes has made a career of striking out batters left and right -- but it looks like he hit a home run with his girlfriend, Livvy Dunne!

The athlete and the influencer have been together for a few years now, and they've become pretty comfortable showing their affection in public ... like when he tied her lace-up heel right before the 2025 MLB All-Star Game.

We're going to check out what the social media figure was up to before she met the pro athlete ... and see what brought them together.

Livvy Was A Gymnast At LSU

Dunne's been a gymnast for several years, and she was formerly a member of the U.S. Junior National Gymnastics Team.

She later joined Louisiana State University's gymnastics team in 2020, and she helped her teammates earn the 2024 NCAA Women's Gymnastics National Championship title.

Dunne's popularity can partially be attributed to the NCAA's Name, Image and Likeness rule, which was implemented in 2021 and lets college athletes participate in sponsorships and make endorsements.

The former college athlete really caught the wave at the right time -- and she's raked in a cool $4.1 million through her collaborations with various companies, according to On3.

She's Been An Influencer Since Her College Days

Dunne began her career as an influencer after the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and earned herself several million followers on TikTok before she'd even started college.

Although she was initially faced with "learning curves" and "had to learn on my own how to navigate" her social media fame, according to ESPN, she evidently figured out a solid rhythm, because she was featured on the Forbes 30 Under 30 and TIME100 Creators lists.

The influencer has since linked up with content creator platform Passes -- in what was described as a "multi-million-dollar deal," according to Sports Illustrated -- which allows her to create exclusive content for fans.

Oh yeah, and she was featured as one of the cover models for the 2025 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue ... after being included in the annual publication in both 2023 and 2024, of course.

Livvy And Paul Met In College

Dunne and Skenes met while they were both attending LSU, and her fans began speculating about the state of their relationship after she was spotted wearing a jersey with his name on it in a video shared on her TikTok account in 2023.

The happy couple went public with their relationship that August, and they've been spotted on plenty of red carpets -- and cute dates, naturally -- ever since then.

The influencer opened up about her romance with Skenes in an interview with People, where she expressed neither she nor her boyfriend would "restrict each other from doing things" in their respective professional lives.

Dunne added, while she understood her boyfriend was "always on the go," she's been "trying to go to as many baseball games as I can."

How Napheesa Collier Built A League With Her Husband Alex Bazzell

Published | Updated

WNBA star Napheesa Collier's made plenty of strides on the court as the Minnesota Lynx's power forward ... and a large part of her success story involves her husband, Alex Bazzell.

The basketball player and her spouse have been together for several years, and their personal connection's carried over to their professional lives as well.

We're going to check out how the athlete and her partner started a family together ... and how they're working on creating a lasting legacy within the sports world.

Alex and Napheesa Met When She Was in High School

Bazzell and Collier's love story goes way, way back, because he met the athlete during her senior year of high school, according to People.

The sports industry figure and the athlete evidently stayed in touch afterward, because he acted as her trainer when she was a student athlete at the University of Connecticut.

The pair began dating when she was a junior in college, and Bazzell popped the big question in October 2019.

You know that old rhyme, first comes love, then comes marriage? That doesn't really apply in this case ... because the couple welcomed their daughter Mila in May 2022 before they tied the knot that October.

Bazzell's Worked With Some of the Biggest Names in Basketball

Remember how we said Bazzell trained Collier when she was in college? Turns out, she's not the only person he's trained over the years -- do the names Carmelo Anthony or Kyrie Irving ring any bells?

The sports executive was associated with Kobe Bryant, as well as his daughter Gianna -- who he trained -- and he told People the Los Angeles Lakers star was "the biggest mentor I've had."

Bazzell said the late athlete showed him how to remove the "pressure" for his daughter to follow in the footsteps of her parents and pursue an athletic career.

Oh, and he's spent a little bit of time on the court as well, as he briefly played professional basketball in Germany, according to his LinkedIn.

Alex and Napheesa Work Together for the Unrivaled League

On top of their personal connection, Bazzell and Collier are professionally involved, as they've both worked on the development of the Unrivaled women's basketball league.

Collier co-founded the league alongside fellow WNBA star Breanna Stewart, and Unrivaled serves as a venue for professional female basketball players to play the sport in the offseason.

Bazzell, who serves as the league's president, provided a statement to CNBC Sport, saying the league would "fill a gap in the calendar" for numerous athletes, and described Unrivaled as "extending the runway of professional basketball."

The league offers its players both equity and high salary opportunities, and Collier said its financial setup would help create "generational wealth" for female athletes.

How Andrew James McGann Was Charged With Capital Murder

Published | Updated

Residents of Arkansas were left reeling after reports emerged about the brutal murders of a married couple who were hiking with their young children at Devil's Den State Park in July 2025.

Within days, the state police force apprehended and arrested suspect Andrew James McGann, who has been charged with two counts of murder.

We're going to take a look into the background of the accused murderer and see what led up to the chilling incident.

McGann Was a Schoolteacher ... and Had Been Placed on Administrative Leave in the Past

The 28-year-old McGann was formerly a resident of Oklahoma, and he'd moved to Springdale, Arkansas in the months prior to the incident, according to the Associated Press.

The murder suspect had active teaching licenses in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas ... and he was set to begin working for the Springdale Public Schools district for the 2025-2026 school year, according to USA Today.

McGann was placed on administrative leave from the Donald Elementary School in Flower Mound, Texas, in the spring of 2023, after "concerns related to classroom management, professional judgment, and student favoritism" were raised.

He resigned from his position in Texas in May 2023, and he subsequently taught within a small district in Oklahoma from the summer of 2024 until May 2025.

The Attack at Devil's Den Took Place in Broad Daylight

The victims of the brutal attack -- 43-year-old Clinton David Brink and 41-year-old Cristen Amanda Brink -- were found dead on a walking trail at Devil's Den State Park on July 26.

The pair was hiking with their two daughters when the attack occurred in broad daylight, and officials stated Clinton was the first to be stabbed, followed by Cristen, who was stabbed after getting the two kids -- ages 7 and 9 -- to safety.

The pair's children weren't hurt in the attack, and they're currently in the care of family members.

A composite sketch of the suspect was released after the incident occurred, and tips about the identity of the murder suspect reportedly came in from across the country.

McGann Was Arrested at a Barbershop

Arkansas State Police said they arrested McGann at a barbershop in Springdale on the afternoon of July 30, according to Today.

He's since been charged with two counts of capital murder.

Arkansas State Police Major Stacie Rhoads said investigators were "still exploring and determining exactly what that motive" for the attack was.

The Arkansas State Police's Secretary of Public Safety and Director Mike Hagar claimed the authorities took "a monster off the streets" and hoped the arrest would "bring relief" to the Brinks' daughters.

How Kevin Gates Started A Family -- And Worked With -- His Estranged Wife Dreka

We revealed the rapper's now-estranged wife Dreka filed for divorce in July 2025, and she cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind the split.

We're going to take a look at the background of the performer's former partner and see what happened in the months leading up to their split.

Kevin and Dreka Were Together for Decades

Kevin and Dreka started dating at some point around 2003, as evidenced by an Instagram post Dreka shared of the two in 2020, where she claimed they'd been together for "17 years" at that point.

Kevin and Dreka -- who's an entrepreneur -- eventually decided to make things between them official, and they tied the knot in October 2015.

The rapper and his partner started a family with the birth of their first child, Islah, in 2012, and they welcomed a son named Khaza two years later.

Oh yeah, and Kevin actually named his debut album after his daughter, and his third album after his son -- how's that for a proud dad?

Dreka Was Her Husband's Business Partner

So we know Kevin and Dreka had a long personal relationship ... and it turns out they had a professional one as well!

The former couple co-founded a record label -- Bread Winners' Association -- in 2010 ... and most of the rapper's releases have been through the imprint.

In addition to her involvement with the label, Dreka worked as her now-estranged husband's booking manager, stepping down from her role in 2022.

The businesswoman has her own professional interests outside the music industry, as she's worked on various projects in the skincare and cannabis industries.

Brittany Renner Was Married To Kevin ... For 52 Days

The thing is, Dreka wasn't the only woman in Kevin's life, as he was married to reality television star Brittany Renner -- for just a few weeks!

The rapper and Renner -- a model and media figure -- were first linked in April 2025 when they went Instagram official with their relationship ... and she referred to him as her "huzband" in a post she shared the following month.

However, Kevin and Brittany only remained together for several weeks, as she claimed they were married from April 6 to May 28 in an interview with Real 92.3 LA ... and added she didn't feel as if their split had been a "sucky situation."

The "Basketball Wives" star stated she had "followed my heart" over the course of her marriage to the rapper, in which she "gave 100 percent" of herself to their relationship.

How Didarul Islam's Loss Was Felt Across New York City

The Midtown Manhattan mass shooting of July 28 sent shockwaves throughout New York City, and much of the metropolis has come together in support of the victims of the attack.

One of the individuals who was gunned down in the violent incident was NYPD Officer Didarul Islam, whose family has taken his loss especially hard.

The officer had been with the NYPD for three and a half years at the time of the shooting, and he was assigned to the city's 47th Precinct.

The cop was off-duty and was working a private security detail assignment at the time of the heinous attack, which marked the first time an NYPD officer of Bangladeshi descent was killed in the line of duty.

Islam was wearing his NYPD uniform and was reportedly carrying his service weapon when Shane Tamura carried out the shooting.

Islam's Family Was Greatly Affected By His Passing

While Islam's loss was felt throughout New York City, it hit hardest with his immediate family, which includes his wife and two young sons, according to CBS News New York.

Even more heartbreaking is the fact that Islam's wife was pregnant with the couple's third child at the time of the shooting.

Islam's cousin Muhammad Mainul Islam spoke to CBS News after the officer's death was shared with the public, and he said the late cop's father suffered a stroke after he learned about what happened to his son.

Congregants of Parkchester Jame Masjid mosque, where the law enforcement officer and his family attended prayer services, have also been affected by his loss.

Islam Has Been Called A 'Hero' Following His Passing

Islam's death was marked with numerous tributes from various figures, including New York City Mayor Eric Adams and NY Governor Kathy Hochul, both of whom directed flags to fly at half-staff in memory of the fallen officer.

Adams spoke about Islam at a news conference following the shooting and stated the cop "embodies what this city is all about."

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch described Islam as a "hero" who "made the ultimate sacrifice" for the residents of New York City.

A dignified transfer of the late officer's body from the medical examiner's office to a mosque in Parkchester was carried out on Tuesday, during which NYPD officers and FDNY personnel saluted the vehicle carrying his body as it went through the city's streets.

What To Know About Manhattan Shooter Shane Tamura

Published | Updated

Midtown Manhattan was plunged into panic on the evening of July 28, 2025, when a lone gunman entered a Park Avenue skyscraper and opened fire, killing four people and wounding another individual ... before the shooter died by suicide, ending the rampage.

The suspect in the incident was identified as Shane Tamura, who allegedly drove across the country in order to carry out the shocking attack.

We're going to take a look at the background of the gunman and see what led up to the violent incident.

Tamura Was a Well-Liked High School Football Player

Tamura spent his teenage years in Southern California, where he attended Golden Valley High School in Santa Clarita before transferring to Granada Hills Charter High School.

The suspect joined the latter school's football team, and its former assistant coach, Walter Roby, described him to Fox 11 as "a quiet, hard worker" who led others through "his actions on the field."

One of Tamura's former classmates and teammates, Caleb Clarke, claimed the suspect was "a jokester" in high school and added he "never would have thought violence was something you’d associate with" the alleged suspect in their early years, according to NBC News.

Clarke said a future in athletics was "definitely on the table" for his former classmate, who had apparently become aware of his peers "telling him how great he was."

Tamura Worked as a Security Guard ... and Had a Handgun Permit

Tamura entered the security industry after leaving high school, and he later moved to Las Vegas, where he was employed in the surveillance department at the Horseshoe Hotel and Casino at the time he undertook his trip to NYC, according to ABC News.

The suspect had a concealed firearms permit, which was found at the scene of the shooting. It was issued in 2022, and it was set to expire in 2027.

He also received a private-investigator license in Nevada in 2019 -- although it eventually expired, according to CNN.

Tamura had two Mental Health Crisis Holds in Nevada in 2022 and 2024. The holds generally allow for an individual to be held for up to 72 hours if they're found to be a potential danger to themselves or other people.

Tamura Drove Across the Country On His Way to the Shooting

Tamura's vehicle had been driven across the country prior to the mass shooting, and a BMW he exited in Manhattan was registered in his name in Nevada.

The car passed through Colorado on Saturday, July 26, made it to Iowa the following day ... and it was in Columbia, New Jersey just a few hours before the shootings.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated officials found a loaded revolver, ammunition, a rifle case with rounds, and multiple magazines in the vehicle, according to the New York Post.

In addition to the weapon and the ammunition, medication prescribed to Tamura was also found in the car.

Tamura Claimed He Suffered From the Effects of CTE

Police found Tamura had a note on him claiming he'd been suffering from the effects of CTE, or Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, according to the New York Post.

The disease is typically found in individuals with lengthy histories of repeated head impacts, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Tamura made a reference to former NFL player Terry Long, who was posthumously diagnosed with the condition after drinking antifreeze, in his note, where he also claimed the league "failed us."

Tamura alleged the NFL "knowingly concealed the dangers to our brains to maximize profits" despite having never played professional football at any point in the past.

The suspect claimed the NFL would "squash" anyone who attempted to "go against" it, and made a request for his brain to be examined for signs of CTE.

Jones studied education while in college, and she's since pursued a career as an elementary school teacher.

Who Is Bradford Gille? What To Know About The Suspect In The Walmart Stabbings

Published

The state of Michigan was shocked to its core when a stabbing attack was carried out at a Walmart location in Traverse City in late July 2025.

Although the attack ended quickly and without any fatalities, the legal troubles for the suspected attacker, Bradford James Gille, are just beginning.

We're going to check out the background of the individual suspected of carrying out the heinous incident and see what kind of consequences he's looking at.

Gille's Racked Up a Few Offenses in His Past

Gille lives in Afton, Michigan, in Cheboygan County, according to Michigan's MLive.com.

The suspected attacker has been arrested several times in the past for various offenses, including misdemeanor assault and battery and drug possession.

He was also charged with malicious destruction of tombs and memorials, although his charge was dismissed after a judge found him incompetent to stand trial, according to NBC News.

Gille's reportedly done time behind bars for his past actions, as he previously served 49 days in a Florida jail on charges of vandalism.

He's Suspected of Attacking 11 Victims

The stabbing began around 4:40 PM on July 26, when Gille, who was allegedly armed with a 3.5-inch folding knife, allegedly began randomly stabbing patrons of a Walmart in Traverse City, located in the northern part of the state, about 255 miles northwest of Detroit.

A total of 11 individuals -- including six victims over the age of 60 -- were stabbed in the attack.

Several bystanders attempted to subdue the suspect outside, and Marine veteran Derrick Perry drew a gun on Gille and yelled at him to drop the knife allegedly used in the incident ... local authorities arrived and arrested Gille, according to the New York Post.

The victims were later transported to a local hospital in varying conditions, and the Associated Press reported every victim was expected to survive.

Gille Could Potentially Deal With Very Serious Charges

Michigan officials were expected to charge Gille with 11 counts of assault with intent to murder, as well as a terrorism charge.

Grand Traverse County Prosecutor Noelle Moeggenberg claimed officials believed the attack was meant to "affect the entire community."

A motive for the attack hasn't been established ... the FBI has stepped in to assist with the investigation into the incident.

Walmart issued a statement after the attack and expressed its support for "those who were injured" as well as its gratitude "for the swift action of first responders."

Published | Updated

Julian Brown made a name for himself on social media by claiming to have come up with a process to convert plastic waste into usable fuels, which he's promoted on his Instagram account over the past few years.

However, he became the subject of concern when he shared a video in July 2025, in which he claimed he was "under attack" from unknown sources, after which he vanished from the internet.

We're going to take a look at the background of the internet star ... and see what he had to say prior to his sudden disappearance from social media.

Julian's an Inventor and Entrepreneur

Brown is a self-taught inventor whose videos regarding his usage of microwave pyrolysis have gone viral on platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

The process involves using microwave radiation to heat up and break down raw materials into usable products, and the inventor's been focused on creating forms of gasoline and diesel alternatives from plastics.

He's even built a homemade microwave pyrolysis reactor, which he's featured in several of his Instagram and TikTok posts.

In addition to his work as an inventor, Brown founded a natural products company called Jabroma in March 2025, which he's promoted on social media.

He then asked his fans to keep him in their prayers, as well as to screen-record the video for future reference.

Brown shared another troubling video the month prior, in which he claimed his workshop in Alabama had been circled by a helicopter multiple times.

Brown's Mother Claimed He Was Safe ... But Didn't Say Anything Else

Many of Brown's fans and followers became concerned for his safety after he shared the video, and some voiced their opinions about his supposed disappearance in the post's comments section.

The inventor stayed quiet on social media for nearly a month before his mother, Nia, reached out to Daily Mail and provided an update on her son's well-being.

While Nia claimed her son was "safe," she wasn't willing to give out any more information about the inventor or his whereabouts.

Brown's mother expressed her unwillingness to talk about her son's actions or location was in the "best interest of his security."
