A man in Florida lost an arm after being attacked by an alligator outside a local watering hole.

The victim, a 23-year-old man, was attacked early Sunday morning at a pond behind Banditos Bar in Port Charlotte, FL ... according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

It sounds the like the incident could have been a lot worse ... because a bar patron told local news outlet The Daily Sun he heard a man screaming in the darkness and rushed outside to look for him near the pond area, helping him to safety.

The Good Samaritan, local resident Manny Hidalgo, told the outlet ... "He was yelling and swimming toward the shoreline. I ran and dragged him up onto the sand. I was scared to get close to the water because it was dark out."

Florida officials say the victim suffered "significant injuries" in the attack ... and the Associated Press reports the man was airlifted to a hospital in Fort Myers, where his arm was amputated.

Wildlife officials say a nuisance alligator trapper was called and removed the 10.5-foot gator from the property .. the gator was then "humanely killed."

Gators are known to attack in the sunshine state, where they are a dime a dozen. As we reported, an alligator at a retirement community in Fort Pierce killed an 85-year-old woman in February as she was walking her dog by the water's edge.

A toddler was also killed under similar circumstances in 2016 at Disney World.

Paris Hilton is sharing some sad news ... her Chihuahua, Harajuku Bitch, has died.

The reality star/entrepreneur revealed the loss Monday morning, saying ... "Today, my heart breaks as I say goodbye to my precious chihuahua, Harajuku Bitch.💔🐶"

Harajuku got a pretty complete eulogy, as Paris added, "For an incredible 23 years, she filled my life with so much love, loyalty, and unforgettable moments.🥰 She lived a long, beautiful and iconic life, surrounded by love until her final peaceful slumber."

Paris says HB was "more than just a pet; she was family to me, a loyal friend who was always by my side through every twist and turn life brought my way."

She ended her post by thanking HB for blessing her life with unconditional love -- "You will forever be my little angel, forever missed, and forever loved. 😇 You may be physically gone, but the imprint of your pawprints on my life will never fade.🐾"

It's been a tough year for Paris as a dog mama.

You'll recall, her dog Diamond Baby went missing last year ... and still has not been found, despite PH offering a "big reward" for her return.

Ariana Madix is not keeping quiet about how ugly the cheating scandal with her ex-Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss went down -- revealing the cheaters first had sex in the car, while she was mourning the death of her dog.

In a preview clip of the season 10 finale of "Vanderpump Rules," Ariana opens up about how she found out about the whole 'Scandoval' for the very first time ... and how the call went when she first confronted Raquel.

If you already thought things were bad, the story gets worse.

Ariana says, she first found a screen recording of them on FaceTime, and, "That's when I called Raquel and I started, like, making her, like, f***ing tell me, 'What the f***? When did this start?'"

To her surprise, Raquel explained it had all started after a girls' trip to Vegas last August -- a trip Ariana left early because her dog Charlotte died.

To make matters worse, Ariana says Raquel still didn't tell the whole truth -- only confessing to kissing -- but later Tom Schwartz revealed Sandoval and Raquel banged in the car.

She adds, "And he didn't have a key to get in so he had to ring the doorbell and I had to let him in" ... yikes!

As you know, it's been a whole lot of drama involving the entire cast after TMZ broke the news Ariana had discovered the cheating was going on ... blowing up her 10-year relationship with Sandoval.

A fisherman in Hawaii just had a real-life "Jaws" moment ... after a massive shark attacked him while kayaking in the ocean, and the entire death-defying encounter was caught on video!

It all happened on Friday, May 12 ... Scott Haraguchi was out fishing near the Kualoa shore in Honolulu, Hawaii. After catching a fish, he forgot to turn off his GoPro ... and it's a good thing he did.

Just a few minutes later, everything seems normal until all of a sudden, a tiger shark attacked his kayak, biting the boat for about 2 seconds, as Haraguchi screamed in fear.

Thankfully, Scott was able to kick the shark off.

Haraguchi, of course, was freaked out, and went on to warn nearby fishermen ... telling KITV he initially thought it was a turtle.

"I heard a whooshing sound that sounded like a boat heading towards me without the motor and I looked up and I saw this big brown thing," Haraguchi said.

"My brain thought it was a turtle but then I got slammed by it and realized that it was a tiger shark."

Haraguchi also said he's lucky to be alive and is concerned about the several shark sightings in the area, including a 20-foot shark the day after his incident.

"I realize that life is short, time is short on Earth, so make the most of it."

The Navy veteran who claims Rep. George Santos cheated him out of cash intended for his dying dog's cancer treatment is happy to see Santos facing criminal charges ... he says George had it coming and karma's a bitch.

Richard Osthoff tells TMZ ... Santos deserves to spend time behind bars and he hopes the judge throws the book at him.

The vet says he's not the only one glad the feds busted Santos, running off a list of groups he claims have been wronged by George. While he's surprised at the timeline, Richard says he's glad Santos finally has to face the music ... and he believes more charges could be coming.

As we reported ... the FBI arrested Santos Wednesday for a variety of alleged misdeeds, including lying. He was charged with 13 counts of wire fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds and making false statements to the House of Representatives.

For his part, Santos insists he's innocent, calling the indictment against him a "witch hunt" and refusing to resign.

Osthoff, you might recall, claims Santos created a GoFundMe campaign to pay for a lifesaving surgery for his cancer-stricken dog Sapphire ... only to see Santos make off with thousands of dollars in donations, leaving Sapphire for dead.

Someone's about to live like a champion -- a very wealthy World Series champion -- 'cause Braves legend Chipper Jones just unloaded his gigantic mansion in Georgia for $11 MILLION!!

The estate was built in 2013 and sits on 37 wooded acres in Canton, only 13 miles northeast of Atlanta ... where the Braves star was one of the greatest players of his generation.

The gated estate has eight bedrooms, nine baths, a nine-car garage, and entertainment for days including a home theater, game room, dirt bike track, and a 4-stall horse barn.

BTW, the stable has a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment inside, as well.

Of course, Jones has been a beloved Atlanta resident since the Braves selected the third baseman as the first overall pick in the 1990 MLB Draft ... and during his 19 seasons, he became an 8-time All-Star, a 2-time Silver Slugger winner, an MLB batting champ, NL MVP, and a World Series champ.

The Braves retired his No. 10 jersey and he was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2018. He's currently the Braves' assistant hitting consultant.

A Detroit TSA worker has been benched after a video of him yanking his dog around went viral ... and yeah, it's as bad as it sounds.

The unidentified canine handler can be seen walking back and forth at Detroit Metro Airport as people shuffle past him and his dog ... which he has on a tight leash, quite literally. This dude is doing what a lot of TSA people do in this situation with dogs on the job -- attempting to sniff out and detect drugs, explosives or anything else that shouldn't be at a federal facility.

Of course, the problem here is that the guy is jerking his partner around to the point it feels jarring and aggressive -- and you feel for the pup.

People saw this clip and were outraged -- demanding the guy be taken to task and removed from his gig. Well, that's exactly what's happened ... however, he's not been fired, at least not yet. The airport's TSA brass says they're suspending him for now.

Jared Leto has just made his arrival at the Met Gala, confusing many to his identity at first ... that is until he removed the giant cat head he was wearing.

What's unique about the actor's furry 'fit is it's more of an homage to Lagerfeld's beloved pet,  Choupette, than the man himself.

The singer was photographed out and about in the Big Apple Saturday, where we're told she was grabbing dinner ... although there's no sign of her partner, A$AP Rocky. What we can see, though, is RiRi wearing this wacky ensemble ... which all starts with a big hat.

Of course, her eyewear gives away what she's rocking here ... it's Chanel, and it seems she was feeling a little Cruella de Vil-ish with the black-and-white theme.

Speaking of that, it's unclear if this is real fur or not. We know PETA recently reached out to her and tried sending her some faux fur stuff -- but we have no idea if she entertained it. In any case, Rihanna was feeling herself ... which probably translates for her new kiddo too.

Sydney Sweeney and fiancé Jonathan Davino are still engaged -- at least publicly -- but after her costar's relationship just imploded, there's a growing mystery over when another shoe might drop.

Davino was photographed earlier this week leaving their home. Not a big deal, but he had bags packed as he left the house. Along with his luggage -- golf clubs and a dog bed.

It's entirely possible he was just going on a golfing trip. Also, earlier Tuesday -- the day the pics were shot -- he was walking Sydney's dog, Tank, so maybe the pooch is going on the golfing trip and all is well. Two theories -- either all is well and Tank's just going on a fun trip, or there's no one else to take care of him so Jonathan's just being compassionate.

On the other hand, Sydney was seen earlier this week without her engagement ring, and the timing is interesting. The photo of a ringless Sydney was shot Thursday, 2 days after Jonathan left with bags packed.

As you probably know, Sydney's costar, Glen Powell, is now a single man after his girlfriend Gigi Paris, very publicly said she's moving on.

Rumors have been swirling that there's more than a professional relationship between Sydney and Glen, and those rumors were, in part, fueled by the 2 of them after appearing on a red carpet earlier this week looking adoringly at each other.

Bonnie Chapman, the biological daughter of Dog the Bounty Hunter and the late Beth Chapman, is going through another tragedy ... she just lost her home in a fire.

Bonnie tells TMZ ... she and her boyfriend Ismael were at work Tuesday when they got a call that their rental house in Fishersville, Virginia was burning down.

She says she rushed home, hoping the information was wrong ... but when she got there the house was up in flames.

Bonnie says she lost just about everything in the blaze at the home ... including 3 cats, a dog, a gecko and a pet snake. The animals died from smoke inhalation.

Some possessions were salvaged ... Bonnie says Beth's ashes survived, and that was one thing she was terrified to lose.

As for the cause of the inferno ... the fire department believes an electrical issue ignited the blaze.

Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino seem to still be going strong despite breakup rumors ... as evidenced by her fiancé's latest outing with Sydney's close childhood companion.

Jonathan spent some QT Tuesday with the actress' dog Tank, taking the pup out for a walk. We gotta say, if Jonathan's worried about Sydney romancing her costar Glen Powell ... he wasn't showing it in his shades and athletic wear. Cool as a cucumber, this guy.

FYI, Tank has been in Sydney's life for years ... she adopted her 4-legged friend when she was a teenager. So, the pooch is definitely hers, and not JD's -- another sign the couple's still together.

It's further confirmation of what we first reported ... Sydney and Jonathan's engagement is still intact.

As you know, Sydney and Jonathan got engaged last year, but recently rumors started to swirl they might have called it quits -- a theory fueled by Sydney and Glen seemingly getting very cozy while filming a rom-com down in Australia.

And even after filming ended ... a vid of Glen and Sydney goofing off together recently went viral.

On top of that, the costars were at CinemaCon this week to promote their new flick, and were looking super into each other. Plus, Glen's GF Gigi Paris unfollowed Sydney on social media.

Our sources are shutting down the idea SS and GP are really an item ... making it clear all the flirting was just to pump up their movie.

A movie theater in Alaska unknowingly gave patrons a free 3D show ... after a real-life moose wandered inside!!!

It all went down in a theater in Kenai, Alaska and security footage shows the moment the large 4-legged animal stumbled into the cinema last week. You won't believe what the moose did as soon as he walked in to the lobby!

The furry customer looked around as some theater workers started recording in complete amusement ... others did so in fear.

The moose, on the other hand, seemingly had no care in the world ... approaching the counter and chowing down on buttery popcorn and some leftover food from the trash!!

Eventually, Mr. Moose made his exit at the urging of workers.

In Alaska, it's against the law to actively feed moose. According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game ... moose that have been fed are more likely to charge at people, including children.

A humongous cat just found a home, and hopefully it's a big one!

Patches the cat was caged at the Richmond Animal Care and Control Center in Virginia, dreaming of adoption but apparently with little hope.

The zoftig creature was actually a hit at the shelter ... folks there loved his belly. That said, there was no room for body positivity, because it just wasn't healthy, so Patches went on a diet and exercise regimen.

A local saw pics of Patches and that was it ... she loved the cat and the cat was super into her, so Patches can now destroy living room furniture in a loving home.

BTW ... not the biggest cat on record. Himmy tipped the scales back in 1986 at 46 lbs.

Interestingly ... in '98, Guinness 86'd the record for fattest cat ... to stop owners from overfeeding the felines for the sake of getting in the record books.

Jimmy Kimmel's late-night sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez, is in the doghouse with a rescue agency that says two pups he adopted ended up at a shelter, but he says the whole ordeal started with a misunderstanding within his family.

Mutt Scouts, a dog rescue group based in SoCal, tells TMZ ... Guillermo adopted two chihuahuas -- Chase and Rey -- back in 2021 when they were just puppies. He was stoked about the addition to his family, posting pics of them on IG soon after getting them.

However, Mutt Scouts says they recently got a call from an animal shelter in the L.A. area ... saying the dogs were surrendered to them by an unnamed woman. The shelter called Mutt Scouts because both pups were microchipped and registered to the org prior to Guillermo adopting them.

Mutt Scouts provided TMZ a copy of the contract Guillermo signed before adopting -- which says the rescue would be the first point of contact to help rehome the dogs if he no longer wanted the dogs or couldn't care for them.

The org took to social media this week to call him out, and some 'Kimmel' fans were pissed and noted Guillermo's past post with the dogs is no longer on his page.

Guillermo tells TMZ ... this all started when he was asked to take care of his grandmother's large dog because she's battling dementia. At the same time, he went in for knee surgery ... so his stepsister had to watch Chase, Rey and grandma's big dog.

He says his stepsister panicked the big dog was going to harm the two chihuahuas, and that's when she decided to take them to the shelter. When Guillermo found out, he says he immediately told her she'd make a big mistake. He knew they should have gone to Mutt Scouts and says he contacted the group on Friday and said he "was sorry from the bottom of his heart."

Mutt Scouts tells us they hope Guillermo's case is a teachable moment for anyone looking to adopt a pet. It's standard procedure for adopted animals to be returned to the rescue agency if the owner can longer care for them.

Chase and Rey are now with Mutt Scouts, which is hoping to find a new home for them. Mutt Scouts tells us Guillermo made a $5k donation to help them care for the pups in the interim.

So, what ever happened to professional courtesy?

Carmen Canovas Cervello, yes, a nurse, was snorkeling in the Maldives when a 220-lb, 8-foot-long nurse shark attacked her and left a gnarly, 6-inch wound as a souvenir.

The video is crazy ... you see the shark circle her before it sinks its chompers in the snorkeler, right in her shoulder and upper back.

So that's actually not the craziest part ... Cervello goes to shore, gets the wound cleaned, and jumps back in the ocean for a second swim!!!

Her friend, Ibrahim Shafeeg, an underwater photog, is the one who shot the footage. No excuse to miss a shot!

BTW ... they knew these waters were shark-infested but, hey, you take your chances. Fact is, most nurse sharks don't pose a danger, unless they're provoked.
