Naples, FL Beaches Closed Again in Record Time ... But Airplanes Just as Packed

Published | Updated

The Mayor of Naples is a helluva lot better at closing beaches when she sees a problem than the mayor in "Jaws" was -- people were flocking to the sand again ... and she shut it all down in less than 24 hours.

The Florida city put an emergency order into effect very early Sunday morning -- right at 12:01 AM -- decreeing all beaches and beach amenities be off-limits immediately after photos surfaced the day before showing that their citizenry wasn't obeying new guidelines.

A little context ... Naples' beaches shut down en masse back on March 23, and on April 30 ... the city reopened them with limitations in place that people were supposed to follow to stay safe -- such as proper social distancing, no crowds larger than 10 people, etc.

Obviously, those rules went right out the window in the week and change that they welcomed back beachgoers. Now, the City Council's gonna meet this week to discuss further steps -- but at the moment, it's no waves and sand for anybody. Periodt!!!

Ironically enough ... while social distancing continues to be an issue on the ground by choice, it's also a huge problem in the air too -- only with a twist, by force this time.

Check out this photo of a United Airlines flight that a UCSF scientist captured and posted online, showing just about every row packed to capacity -- including middle seats -- which flies in the face of United's own updated policy on booking guests in light of coronavirus.

The company said it'd leave middle seats empty and attempt to limit the number of passengers they let on any of their flights. Clearly, those rules were also DOA.

When Animals Attack Shopper Gets Goosed!!!

Goose
WILD GOOSE CHASE

The feathers were flying in Canada when a rogue goose took its frustrations out on an unsuspecting customer, and the video is .... well, hilarious.

You wouldn't think a goose is that aggressive, or at least most people wouldn't, but this goose was out for bear as shopper exited a store and walked to the parking lot waiting for her ride to roll up.

That's when she noticed a goose was on the loose, but who'd think it would go after her.  Well, it did ... repeatedly, as her ride approached.

The shopper runs around the car as the goose gives chase!!! She jettisons the bag and hops inside the car ... but guess who follows her in?

The driver is blindsided as the feathers fly and then jumps out of the car and falls on the pavement. The shopper somehow gets the goose out of the vehicle.

We have no idea if the goose hung around for other shoppers, but if it did send up the video!!!

Reopen Protests Armed Demonstrators Storm Subway ... To Buy Sandwiches

Published | Updated

A group of protesters busted through the doors of a Subway with their guns blazing -- but it wasn't to shoot the place up ... they were just hangry for some footlongs, apparently.

A photojournalist for the News & Observer in Raleigh, NC recently captured these surreal pics and shared them on social media, showing about a dozen "mostly-armed" reopen demonstrators hitting up a Subway mid-protest to get their sandwich fix, firearms in hand.

The photos are wild -- you see these folks tightly holding their rifles and other artillery weapons as they browse the menu to see what they wanna nosh on. It's like they put their lunacy on pause and became regular people again ... if only for a moment.

Also, peep the dude with the AT-4 rocket launcher strapped across his back. It's got the word "INERT" labeled on it, which many say means it's a fake/replica and not actually functional or dangerous. Stilllll, how crazy is it that he walked in there with that at all???

Even more bonkers is the fact that the Subway workers served them -- but hey when you got a mini militia rolling up and asking for a bite ... you might just do what they say.

Shanghai Disneyland Here's How We'll Safely Reopen ... Blueprint for Out West???

Published | Updated

Disney is taking its first steps to reopen their parks in none other than China next week -- and the takeaway/possible road map for what's to come is simple ... lots of slower lines.

New China TV documented an in-depth tour given by the VP of Operations, Andrew Bolstein, which showed how the park plans to safely operate Monday -- when they'll reopen their doors to the public. Bottom line ... social distancing will be key, literally everywhere.

Right from the get-go, ticketholders will have to wait in line with markers on the ground of where NOT to stand, which automatically creates a distance between people of about a meter or so. Going in, they gotta be wearing face masks, have their temperature checked ... and also present updated medical records essentially proving they're coronavirus-free.

But wait, there's more ... waiting. Once inside, there are a lot more markers on the ground, where people are supposed to stay as they navigate the park. The rides are kinda the same deal -- everyone is spaced out, and they'll even load people onto cars via every other row.

What that means ... each ride will have less people on it than it can normally carry (in order to maintain the appropriate social distancing), so to go on Pirates of the Caribbean, Disney fans might have to wait a lifetime and a half going forward ... more so than usual.

It's unclear if Disneyland (Anaheim) and Disney World (Orlando) will adopt similar measures if/when they decide to restart the breakers, but it's likely their plan will be similar.

Might not be a better time to get on that Fast Pass plan. Yipeee!!!

Jamie Foxx Impressions of Jay, Chappelle & Tyson Watch the Master Work

Published | Updated

How talented is Jamie Foxx? Talented enough to smoothly slip in and out of his Jay-Z, Dave Chappelle and Mike Tyson impressions ... without skipping a beat.

The actor/singer/comedian/all-around-renaissance-man broke down the most famous, and hilarious, voices he's known for doing -- and it's masterful to watch. He was talking to WNBA star Candace Parker on IG Live about his method approach to getting in character, and explained he uses music to help achieve the perfect tone for each celeb.

Then came a rapid-fire series of impressions, which did not disappoint. Check it out ... he shows off Jigga, Kermit the Frog and Sammy Davis Jr. -- and they're all basically the same voice, with slightly different twists. We'll let Jamie explain.

After that, JF presents us with 2 takes of Chappelle -- young and current -- and he couldn't be more spot-on if he tried. Seriously, easy to see why this was always part of his stand up act.

Finally, Jamie does his best Tyson ... which we're sure came in handy while he was portraying the iconic boxer for a new movie that's due to come out soon. He makes a stark distinction between people's caricature impersonation of Tyson and the real McCoy.

Yeah ... we smell another Oscar coming soon. Can't wait to see it.

2020 Quarters U.S. Mint Went Batty ... Bad COVID Coincidence!!!

Published | Updated

The U.S. Mint's decision to put the American Samoan fruit bat on the back of 2020 quarters probably seemed perfectly innocent ... pre-coronavirus, but now it's kinda creepy.

Here's the deal ... the 2020 quarter, which was put into circulation in February, honors America's Pacific Island territory, and features a cheerful-looking mama fruit bat and her pup hanging upside down.

The National Park of American Samoa is home to the species ... hence the currency shout-out. Only problem is we're all a bit freaked out about bats, considering one widely held scientific belief that the virus jumped to humans from bats sold in Wuhan's wet markets.

Before its release, the U.S. Mint said ... "The image evokes the remarkable care and energy that this species puts into their offspring. The design is intended to promote awareness to the species’ threatened status due to habitat loss and commercial hunting."

Blah, blah, blah ... y'know everyone just see bats and thinks pandemic.

The odd timing of the bat quarter's release is already fueling the conspiracy theory that the government plotted the COVID-19 outbreak.

For those who choose to believe that keep this piece of scientific fact in mind -- the Samoan fruit bats live far, far away from Wuhan's wet markets.

If you need more debunking than that ... hit up Snopes.

Carole Baskin Hey Biebs, Put Me in Your Music Video!!! Ariana Says Thank U, Next

Published | Updated

Carole Baskin wants to be a cool cat and kitten herself, so she submitted a clip for Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande's new music vid ... but she didn't make the final cut.

Here's the deal ... Justin and Ariana have a new music video for their quarantine-themed song, "Stuck With U," dropping tonight, and they've been asking for fan submissions to be included in the vid.

Carole and her husband sent one in, dancing to the tune with their cat and wearing animal print robes. Justin shared it on social media to promote his video, but that's as far as she's getting.

Sources close to JB tell TMZ ... Justin and Ariana will NOT be using Carole's submission in the final cut.

Carole Baskin tells TMZ ... some of Justin's friends asked if they would submit a clip for the music video, so she and Howard dressed up in their old Fur Ball gala outfits and filmed a dance with their cat, Pearlie.

Missing the final cut is news to Carole ... she says they weren't told one way or another if they made the cut, but she's happy Justin shared it with his followers and she hopes "it doesn't attract too many of the haters who have been bashing us since being misled by 'Tiger King.'"

Ariana perhaps summed up the whole thing best ... "for the record, I did not allow or approve this clip to be in the actual video. but. nonetheless. it exists and that's ..... unique."

Murder Hornet Meets Deadly Match ... Praying Mantis is Hero We Need!!!

Published | Updated

Okay, so maybe murder hornets aren't THAT dangerous ... or maybe it's praying mantises we should truly be worried about. Either way -- nature is damn scary!!!

Here's video of an apparent Asian giant hornet (aka murder hornet) going head-to-head with a mantis and losing its head ... as the greenish-brown beast quickly strikes, kills and starts chomping away.

The years-old video has resurfaced online on the heels of the alarming news that deadly "murder hornets" have arrived in the U.S. and were first spotted in Washington state this past fall.

As we reported ... these giant Asian hornets are a threat to the bee population, as they tear up entire colonies by decapitating them and feeding the bodies to their young. Oh, and this is what one of them did to a mouse.

Killer Bee
THRILL KILL

They also can kill humans with their venom -- reportedly up to 50 people a year die from their stings -- so it's easy to understand why folks are freaking out about them ... even if the executioner wasp is more dangerous.

Little did we know, we just need to sic praying mantises on their asses.

Indianapolis Live Stream Shooting Man ID'd as Sean Reed ... Mike Epps's Furious

Published | Updated
UPDATE

8:41 AM PT -- The shooting victim has been identified as 21-year-old Sean Reed. The shooting sparked outrage and protests Thursday attended by more than 100 community activists and organizers. Comedian Mike Epps, who is from Indianapolis, also chimed in on the fatal shooting calling on the cops to be punished. He added, "We gotta stop giving them an opportunity to kill us. They’re killing us because [they're] watching us kill us.

UPDATE
UPDATE

6:21 PM PT -- The shooting victim is dead ... according to local news reports. Police reportedly claim they used a stun gun on the man before the fatal shooting.

UPDATE

5:58 PM PT -- According to the police scanner, cops were in pursuit of a vehicle around 6 PM and the car chase lasted for about 10 minutes before officers called it off.

UPDATE

A few minutes later, an officer reported seeing the driver of the vehicle from the pursuit running near the intersection from the video. An officer later said there was a shooting and the subject from the chase was down.

A man running from cops was gunned down by police after bailing from a car ... and the officer-involved shooting was captured on the dude's live stream.

The wild scene unfolded Wednesday afternoon in Indianapolis ... and the video picks up with the man behind the wheel of a car, calling out the street he was on ... and pleading for someone to "come get my stupid ass." All of this as he live streamed from a phone.

After bailing from the car, he started running on foot. It sounds like someone yelled, "Stop, stop." Then you clearly hear him respond, "F**k you" ... and then a flurry of gunshots rang out as the man fell to the ground. The phone's camera came to rest pointed up toward the sky ... and continued streaming.

That was followed by tons of police sirens and someone screaming, "Oh my God!"

Indianapolis police confirm there was an officer-involved shooting at the intersection the man yelled out on the video. It's unclear if the man was armed or why he was even on the run. Police say no officers were injured.

Much of the video is shaky and there's no perspective as to what was happening around him, but police say they're investigating what led up to the gunfire.

Oregon Zoo Splish Splash ... This Bear's Takin' a Bath!!!

RUB-A-DUB-DUB

Here's something nice for a change -- Takoda the black bear's unconcerned with the troubles of the world, and is just enjoying a dip in a cold tub ... REALLY enjoying it.

The 400-pound bear's splashy bath time is a springtime staple at the Oregon Zoo, where they bust out a 300-gallon wading pool as the weather gets warm and sunny ... and let him go to town.

Takoda -- whose name means "friend to all" in Sioux -- is 10 years old and arrived at the zoo in November 2010, after being found dehydrated and hungry as an orphaned cub in Montana.

Fortunately, he was nursed back to health and found a new home at the zoo's Black Bear Ridge.

Amy Cutting, a director at the zoo, says ... "He’s quite a goofy bear. He was just cooling down and having some fun on a nice spring day.”

The Oregon Zoo describes Takoda's antics as "the kind of stuff the internet was made for, especially in times like these."

Couldn't agree more.

Kim Jong-un Body Double Theory Likely BS Side-by-Side is Fake

Published | Updated

Kim Jong-un might not be alive after all and instead has a convincing body double -- so says one former member of parliament ... who appears to be pushing actual fake news.

Louise Mensch -- who used to serve in the UK government as a conservative a while back -- sent the body double theories into hyper-drive on Friday after she posted a would-be, side-by-side comparison that she claimed proved the guy who took that factory tour in Pyongyang last week wasn't actually KJU -- but another person entirely posing as him.

She pointed out the different brow, and other facial features ... but much of her claim was on the teeth themselves. In her photo, they certainly do look different. The problem ... her photo of Kim at the fertilizer plant isn't authentic and is almost certainly a doctored image.

We know this because we downloaded the high-res image itself and zoomed in with our own gear -- and it does NOT show what this woman's pic depicts ... namely, mangled and mashed up teeth that are vastly different from Kim's famous Bugs Bunny-like chompers.

As you can tell in an actually zoomed-in photo, those two long incisors are the same here ... it definitely looks like Kim -- and not whoever that other guy is up there in Louise's comparison.

That said, we still don't know when these photos were actually taken -- and it's hard to take government-run media there at their word that he's a perfect picture of health ... especially after international reports pegged him as either dead, brain dead or on his death bed.

We'll keep an eye out for Kim ... real or otherwise.
