BEFORE THE SHOOTING

Floyd Mayweather had a heavy security presence at a Waffle House in Atlanta hours before someone opened fire on his entourage ... and TMZ Sports has the video.

Witnesses tell us ... Floyd hit up the Waffle House around 10 PM on Sunday -- before hosting a party at a nearby nightclub. It was on his way back from the club when someone ambushed Floyd's 3-car caravan and opened fire, striking one of his bodyguards.

But it was all gravy at the Waffle House -- with Floyd turning up at the jukebox inside the restaurant while his security team kept an eye out for danger.

In fact, as Floyd dances away ... you can see bodyguard Greg La Rosa keeping Floyd's area safe.

Cops are still looking for the shooter and a motive as to why someone would want to attack Floyd's crew.

From what we're told ... there was no single incident at the Waffle House or the nightclub that would have led to the shooting.

Floyd Mayweather All Smiles at ATL Club ... Right Before Shooting

Published | Updated

Floyd Mayweather didn't appear to have a care in the world in the hours before someone opened fire on his entourage ... partying in an ATL nightclub.

The boxer was the special VIP host at Medusa nightclub on Sunday night -- where he partied with a ton of people, including rapper YFN Lucci.

Sources in the club tell us Floyd had a great time there and didn't appear to have any drama with anyone -- let alone an issue that would spark a shooting.

But on the way back to the hotel, someone shot at a caravan of SUVs, injuring one of Floyd's bodyguards. It's unclear if Floyd was the intended target.

Rams' Ethan Westbrooks Gets Probation In Stolen Loaded Gun Case

Published | Updated

The Rams player who was arrested for driving around with a loaded handgun that was allegedly stolen has struck a plea deal with prosecutors ... and he'll be on thin ice for the next 3 years.

Ethan Westbrooks -- a defensive tackle who played in all 16 games in 2017 -- was arrested back in September after he was pulled over in Kern County, CA for speeding and cops found the gun in the car.

Officials had previously said the gun -- which had been reported stolen in 2009 -- was loaded with 13 rounds of ammo. He was initially booked with 5 felonies including carrying a loaded firearm and possessing a high-capacity magazine.

But now, court records show Westbrooks made a deal in which he agreed to plead no contest to misdemeanor carrying a loaded firearm ... and in exchange, the rest of the charges were dropped.

27-year-old Westbrooks has been sentenced to 1 day in jail -- and got credit for time served, so he ain't going back.

He also got 3 years probation and some fines.

GB Packers WR Arrested for Bomb Joke at LAX

Published | Updated

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Trevor Davis was arrested at LAX on Sunday morning after cops say he joked about smuggling a bomb into the airport ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Yeah, they DON'T PLAY about that at LAX!!!

Law enforcement sources tell us the 24-year-old -- a 5th round draft pick out of Cal in 2016 -- was at the Hawaiian Airlines ticket counter with a female companion to check into a flight when the attendant asked the usual security questions about their luggage.

Instead of playing it straight -- we're told Davis turned to the other woman and said, "Did you remember to pack the explosives?"

She apparently said, "No" and tried to get him to stop. He then said, "Just kidding" -- but it was too late.

We're told cops were called and Davis was immediately taken into custody for misdemeanor criminal threats. He was booked -- mug shot and all -- and then released.

According to his booking sheet, Davis is listed at 6'2", 195 lbs.

No word if he's still planning on going to Hawaii ...

We're told David and the March for Our Lives leaders will be launching a new platform for students to create school clubs and engage them in political activism. -- Hosting town halls

-- Planning future marches (like March for Our Lives)

-- Starting voter registration drives

-- Supporting candidates who support the MFOL mission (either Democrat or Republican)

It should be noted ... the club is nonpartisan. The goal's to give students the resources they need to get politically active and make it easy for them to become engaged.

Safaree Samuels Knows One of His Alleged Robbers Took Pic With Him & Nicki

Published | Updated

Safaree Samuels' armed robbery hits closer to home than he might've thought, cause he knows one of his alleged assailants very well ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ has obtained a photo Safaree took with his then-girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, and one of the men arrested in connection to the crime ... Shawn Harewood.

Sources tell us the pic was taken in either 2011 or 2012 at a club in Queens for Safaree's birthday. We're told Safaree and Shawn are old friends -- Safaree's known him since he was 14 years old. However, we're told they haven't spoken since Safaree's breakup from Nicki.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

As we reported ... Harewood and another man, Jonathan Ricketts, were caught and arrested shortly after the alleged armed robbery this week. They were captured on foot in upper Manhattan after police pursued them over the George Washington Bridge from NJ.

Safaree's attorney, James Leonard Jr., told us this was not a random attack, and that his client was lucky to escape unscathed. The rapper told cops about $183k in cash and jewelry were stolen.

We've reached out to Safaree's attorney about the connection to Harewood -- he had no comment.

I WAS SCARED FOR MY LIFE

Karrueche Tran was terrified when a man tried to run through security at the New Orleans airport ... and was planning her escape in case he had a gun.

We got Karrueche at LAX Wednesday after she arrived from Louis Armstrong International, where she witnessed a guy get taken down and arrested after he tried to flee the TSA screening area with his luggage.

She tells us she was scared the guy had either a gun or a bomb -- especially with Tuesday's shooting at YouTube headquarters in mind -- but gives props to the TSA agents for handling the situation before cops showed up for the arrest.

Law enforcement sources tell us the man ran from the screening area after he was told he couldn't go through the metal detector with his bag and to put it on the conveyor belt. We're told he was quickly caught and subdued ... but not before he injured a TSA officer in the process.

Fortunately, our sources say nothing suspicious was found in his bag, but it was enough to freak out the nearby passengers like Karrueche.

Because, like she says ... ya never know what to expect these days.

YouTube Shooter Made Contact With Local Police ... Hours Before Shooting

Published | Updated

The YouTube shooter had a run-in with cops just hours before she opened fire at the media company's headquarters -- but they apparently thought nothing was amiss.

Nasim Aghdam's father, Ismail Aghdam, says he and his family had reported his daughter missing in Southern California before police in Mountain View, CA -- about 30 miles from YouTube HQ -- contacted them early Tuesday morning.

He says cops told him she'd been found and everything was "under control" -- despite Ismail claiming he'd initially told authorities she might go to YouTube because she "hated" the company for allegedly censoring her videos.

Mountain View police confirm officers encountered Aghdam Tuesday asleep in her car in a parking lot. They ran her plates and found it matched the description of a missing person, and when officers made contact ... they concluded all was well, notifying her family.

Hours later, she shot and injured 3 people at the YouTube campus before killing herself.

Meek Mill Judge Takes Hard Line ... You're Not Getting Out Just 'Cause Everyone Else Is

Published | Updated

8:15 AM PT -- Meek's attorney Joe Tacopina tells TMZ, “We have never seen such vindictiveness and disregard for the law at this level. Judge Brinkley will not be able to hide her conduct from the scrutiny of appellate courts, the justice system overall and the common sense and decency of the people of Pennsylvania and the United States. We will see to it.

Meek Mill's controversial judge says he's got awful timing -- and that's just one of the many reasons she's not granting him a bail hearing.

Judge Genece Brinkley filed docs explaining why she rejected his motion to get a hearing, and be released from prison on bail. First, she's being a stickler on deadlines ... saying Meek's request needed to be filed a year after his original 2009 sentence became final. Of course, he didn't file until 2018, but we're confident Meek's team would say they didn't know about the police corruption scandal until this year.

As we reported, Meek hung much of his bail request on the credibility of Officer Graham -- the Philly cop at the center of the city's sweeping police corruption case.

Judge Brinkley says, in docs obtained by TMZ, the Philly article exposing the scandal is based on old police documents that were readily available to Meek's attorneys. She's basically saying ... the information was there, why didn't Meek's team expose the corrupt cops? In fact, Brinkley says the article isn't even admissible as evidence, and there's precedent for that in Pennsylvania.

She also says Meek has repeatedly admitted his guilt, in court, to the gun and drug charges he originally faced.

Judge Brinkley thinks there's nothing special about Meek's situation. She says post-sentencing bail should only be granted in "exceptional cases for compelling reasons." Bottom line for the judge ... even if Graham's a dirty cop, it doesn't make this an exceptional case.

As for prosecutors not objecting to Meek's release -- she says it's based on the fact hundreds of other convicted criminals were released due to the corruption scandal. And for Judge Brinkley ... just because they got out, doesn't necessarily mean Meek should get out, too.

David Hogg Forget the UCs ... Come to New Mexico State, It's On Us!

Published | Updated

David Hogg might not be good enough for the University of California -- despite his activism -- but he's now got something in his back pocket ... a possible full ride in New Mexico!

TMZ has obtained an acceptance letter from the Dean of the Honors College at New Mexico State University. Dr. Miriam S. Chaiken was pleased to inform Hogg he was welcome at the campus ... and so are all the other Parkland student leaders.

In the letter, Chaiken says she's been inspired by the work David and his fellow students were doing in the wake of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High shootings ... taking to the streets and demanding new gun control laws.

David Hogg 03/27/18
WE REGRET TO INFORM YOU ...

She writes, "Please tell David, Emma (Gonzalez), and any other of your student leaders, that they are welcome at the William Conroy Honors College and at New Mexico State University." Chaiken goes on ... "I can assure them that they will be admitted to our university, and I will personally make it my commitment to raise as much funding as I can to support them with scholarships."

Sounds like a full ride for Hogg and co. Then again, the specifics are a little vague.

He's also got at least three other options on the table to consider. Always nice to have a safety school.

Damian Lillard's Brother Shot Multiple Times ... Hospitalized

Published | Updated

Damian Lillard's half brother is hospitalized after being shot multiple times in Oregon last night ... and cops believe he was the victim of a targeted attack.

Cops in Clackamas County say Jahrell Lillard, 20, was gunned down by 2 men in a parking lot around 9 PM last night. According to witnesses, 5 to 10 shots were fired. Officials believe JL was the victim of a targeted attack.

After he was hit, Lillard was able to escape ... and run into a Macy's Home Store before police say he collapsed just inside the store entrance.

The shooters fled the scene.

Lillard was transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.

Officials -- who say they have surveillance video of the attack -- are on the lookout for 2 adult black males they believe are responsible for the shooting.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas Parents Freaked Out Over New Gun Threat

Published | Updated

6:19 AM PT -- We've learned the father of the student who made the threat later met with police and turned over a black handgun, a magazine, 6 bullets and an airsoft pistol.

A student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School made threats with a gun and ammunition against another student, and parents want to know if more danger lurks on campus ... yet the school has gone radio silent.

A student at the school posted these ominous pics with a clear target ... a fellow student he accused of stealing his Gucci sandals. The student in question posted this ominous warning, "Catch me out here n****," along with, "Anyone know josh at Stoneman Douglas he's light skin where's Gucci glasses and jeans that look like a 4 year old drew on em hmu."

Cops came to the school last week and arrested the student for making criminal threats. He told cops the bullets were his dad's and the gun was real ... it was a BB gun. And there's this ... according to the police report, his Fortnite gamer tag name is NickCruz ... the same name as the notorious shooter.

The parent of the student who was targeted went to the school to find out if the student who was arrested would be back on campus. According to the parent's lawyer, Bradford Cohen, the school refuses to give an answer, which has freaked out a number of students and parents.

Cohen tells TMZ this is not about suing the school ... it's purely about safety.

We reached out to the school but so far no word back.

David Hogg Ingraham's Apology Is Fake ... Just For Advertisers' Sake

Published | Updated

David Hogg is basically telling Fox News host Laura Ingraham to take her apology and shove it ... or, at the very least, make it more sincere.

The Parkland, FL teen just fired back at Ingraham saying she's sorry for calling Hogg a whiner over his college rejections. Hogg thinks her mea culpa was done merely "to save your advertisers" ... and it's not good enough for him.

Hogg says, "I will only accept your apology only if you denounce the way your network has treated my friends and I in this fight."

The father of a Marjory Stoneman Douglas student who was killed was first to blast Ingraham for her apology, and David co-signed.

As we reported, multiple advertisers on Ingraham's Fox News show -- including TripAdvisor, Nestle and Wayfair -- have pulled their spots after Hogg called for a boycott of her show.

Larry King Repeal 2nd Amendment ... It Was Passed to Fight Off Slaves

Published | Updated

Larry King has an interesting tidbit for why the Second Amendment should be repealed -- and it's got to do with what he says is the real reason it was created ... to fight off slaves.

We got the ex-talk show host Wednesday at E. Baldi in Bev Hills, where we asked what he thought of former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens' NYT op-ed calling for the amendment giving Americans the right to bear arms to be repealed.

Larry says he's completely on board, adding that the antiquated provision needs to be rewritten due to unclear language ... and also, because it's "real" purpose is moot now.

He backs a widely discussed theory that the Second Amendment was pushed for by Southern senators who simply wanted to fend off potential slave uprisings. How about that?

Fact is ... there was a move back then to keep guns away from slaves, but it's actually an anti-gun control issue and not an issue about repealing the Second Amendment.

Coachella Police Train For Possible Massacre Tourniquets, Drones in Force

Published | Updated

Law enforcement at Coachella is bracing for the possibility of a Vegas-like massacre, and it's taking radical steps to make sure it thwarts any plot and protects concertgoers.

If, God forbid, something does happen, first responders will be ready with tourniquets and other medical equipment to prevent massive blood loss.

There will also be intensive surveillance, especially with drones that will blanket the festival grounds ... eyeing people and packages that look ominous. Although law enforcement tells TMZ there are no known threats, it is out of an abundance of caution.

Cops and security are taking training courses on identifying items that are out of place ... in particular they will learn the lay of the land -- where items such as trash cans are placed -- and if a new one suddenly appears, cops will take appropriate steps to immediately investigate.

There will also be tried-and-true forms of security, such as metal detectors and pat-downs. And the mantra of the festival is what has become the mantra everywhere ... "See something, say something."

Coachella takes place over the span of two weekends next month and features artists like The Weeknd, Beyonce, Eminem, Cardi B, Migos, SZA and Kygo.
