MAN OF THE PEOPLE

Dennis Rodman's giving away signed Chicago Bulls jerseys ... just ask this Australian fan who's getting two of 'em after he was spotted wearing The Worm's Lakers jersey while on vacay.

Here's what happened ... Matt from Australia was out with his son in Hawaii over the weekend when Rodman's rep, Darren Prince, spotted him in the No. 73 Lakers jersey. Cool and kinda rare sighting, so Darren dials up Dennis to connect him with the fan.

Dennis tells him "this is the real Dennis Rodman" before Matt jokes about the Hawaiian weather that gets Dennis laughing off his ass. Check it out ... Matt gets quite the surprise when Dennis says he'll send along signed jerseys. Matt's all about it ... saying he'll add it to his Rodman collection. Really.

Matt says he's got Rodman's Pistons, Bulls, Lakers and even a Dallas Mavericks jersey where he had a short stint in 2000. The Hall of Famer then tells a funny story about his No. 70 jersey with the Mavs ... prompting Matt to call ex-NBA commish David Stern a d***. Watch.

Dennis is no stranger to making a stranger's day. Remember this?

Drew Brees Hit with $7 Mil Bombshell ... In Jewelry War

Published | Updated

Imagine being told the rare diamond you sold for $3.75 MILLION is now back on the market for around $7 MILLION ... and could be worth more than $10 MIL. How would you react?

Drew Brees could only shake his head ... according to legal docs obtained by TMZ Sports.

It's all part of the QB's war with his old jeweler, Vahid Moradi -- who Brees is suing, claiming he's been ripped off for millions over the years.

One of the pieces at the center of the war is a 4.09 carat blue diamond Drew bought in 2015 for $8.1 million.

As we previously reported, Brees suspected he was swindled by his jeweler so he brought it to another appraiser who valued it at a mere $2 million.

Now, according to new legal docs, we've learned Drew sold the ring in the spring of 2018 for $3.75 million ... a number he seemed satisfied with based on the low appraisal.

But Moradi's attorney, Eric George, suspected something fishy went down -- since the man who appraised the diamond got a commission for brokering the deal with the new buyer.

During the deposition, George hit Brees with a bombshell -- saying, "Would it surprise you to know that it's being offered right now at a wholesaler's for $6.8 million?"

Drew's response according to the transcript -- "[Brees shakes head]."

Yeah ...

George then told Brees if the diamond were to be sold at a retail store like Tiffany, the price tag would be in excess of $10 million!!!

We reached out to Drew's attorney, Andrew Kim, for comment who told us the new price tag may not reflect the true value of the diamond -- and doesn't take away from the fact Drew feels scammed by Moradi.

"[The wholesaler] is offering it at what he's offering it. The real story is what he's able to sell the piece for. We'll be fairly surprised if he gets anything close to what he's asking for."

The two sides are still duking it out in court -- this one's getting nasty.

Bill Simmons LeBron James Will Win ZERO ... Championships In L.A.

DON'T GET YOUR HOPES UP, LA

Zip, zero, zilch, bupkis ... according to Bill Simmons, that's how many championships the great LeBron James will win as a Laker ... and Bill ain't playing around.

We got Simmons -- an NBA expert -- at LAX, and asked him a couple questions in his wheelhouse about the Association, including when he thought the Lake Show would be back in the finals.

Good news for L.A. fans, he said two years, and he said they'd get there with some combination of Jimmy Butler and Damian Lillard on the team.

The bad news came when we asked how many rings LeBron James would win in a Laker uniform, and Bill said not one, not two, not three, but NOT ANY ... holding up a zero to our camera.

Do the math. That means Bill thinks a team with LeBron, Damian, AND Jimmy Butler can't win a championship?

Cold world.

LEGENDARY COMPARISON

It's not Le'Veon, Zeke or David Johnson ... no, according to Christian Okoye -- the best running back in the NFL is Kareem Hunt!!

Of course, the Chiefs' legend is super biased.

But, still ... the Nigerian Nightmare is convinced Kareem is the league's top runner -- saying K.C.'s superstar is a clone of one of the all-time greats.

"You know who he reminds me of? Walter Payton," Okoye tells TMZ Sports.

Christian broke it all down for us ... saying Kareem's a small dude like Walter -- but he lays the hammer on defenders just like Sweetness!!

Okoye also told us there's another back in the league he likes ... but just not as much as Kareem.

As for Hunt ... dude did have a monster rookie season, leading the league in rushing yards -- just the sixth first-year player to ever do that. The others?? Ezekiel Elliott, Edgerrin James, Eric Dickerson, George Rogers and Earl Campbell.

Yeah, maybe Christian's got a point.

Ex-UFC Owner Frank Fertitta Father of the Bride Delivers Mars, Mayer & Seal Play Wedding Singer

Published | Updated

The UFC is the gift that keeps on giving, especially if you're one of the guys who sold it for max profit ... and later got some of the biggest names in music for your kid's wedding.

Frank Fertitta's daughter, Kelley, got hitched this weekend in Vegas to her man, Tyler, in what turned out to be one hell of a shindig -- 'cause they got guys like Bruno Mars, John Mayer and Seal to perform live. Needless to say ... that can't come cheap.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

It all went down Saturday at the Red Rock Casino, with Bruno clearly being the biggest name on the bill. Based on video that was taken up close, it looks like he had close to a full band performing with him ... and belted out a few songs as part of his set.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

John Mayer's performance from the rehearsal dinner appeared to be a bit more low-key and subtle (that's kinda his thing) ... but Seal's time on the mic day-of seemed to be the most intimate. He was on the dance floor singing to (and with, honestly) the crowd around him. Other notable guests of honor included EDM DJ Marshmello ... and none other than the king of UFC himself, Dana White.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

In case you weren't familiar, Frank and his brother, Lorenzo, bought UFC back in 2001 for $2 million ... and sold it just a couple years ago for a reported $4 BILLION. So yeah ... the Fertatti family's set for life. It's no wonder they could snag such A-list talent -- they're freakin' loaded!!

While it's unclear who exactly footed the bill here for the star-studded lineup of artists ... our money's on Frank for this one. When dad's on Forbes' billionaire-list ... it's kind of a no-brainer.

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY

So, Floyd Mayweather walked into a strip club with a backpack filled with $50k cash ... and wanna guess what happened next?

Yeah, it RAINED in New Jersey!!!

TMZ Sports has footage of the boxing champ's recent trip to Scores Atlantic City ... where Floyd was spotted throwing massive wads of cash out of his bag while vibin' to Lil Wayne's "Cannon."

Get this ... we're told Floyd threw SO much money, the cleaning crew found thousands of leftover bills all over the place the next morning -- from the ceiling vents to the furniture.

And, if that's not enough money spent, we're told Floyd and his crew ate at Robert's Steakhouse earlier that night ... and bought a $5k bottle of Louis XIII cognac for his table (dude doesn't even drink, he just likes his friends THAT much.)

DOWN FOR A HOLDOUT

Cappie Pondexter tells TMZ Sports she BARELY makes six figures a year as one of the WNBA's biggest superstars ... and she's pissed off about it, saying the league "should pay me what I deserve!"

It's been a heated topic in the hoops world recently -- with players like Skylar Diggins-Smith voicing their dismay about the pay difference between NBA players and their WNBA counterparts.

Pondexter couldn't have agreed more with Skylar when we got her out in L.A. promoting her CBD skin care line ... telling us the league ONLY shells out $113,000 a year for her to play.

"It's just getting out of line now," the Indiana Fever star says.

"I've been in the league for 13 years, making the vet minimum, which for me is $113,000 for the last five years, which is nothing compared to what the minimum is and the maximum is for the NBA."

"I'm not saying that we have to get what they have, but I think we should see some progress at this point."

Pondexter says she's so fed up with it all ... she's actually willing to be a part of a league-wide work stoppage -- if other stars like Diana Taurasi and Elena Delle Donne are down for it.

The restaurant clapped back by bashing LaVine's defense ... but something tells us Zach's got bigger fish to fry.

'Basketball Wives' Star Gloria Govan Arrested for Felony Child Endangerment

Published | Updated

6:00 AM PT -- Govan was released after posting $100,000 bail.

"Basketball Wives" star Gloria Govan was arrested for felony child endangerment after a dangerous fight with her ex-husband ... which cops say put their kids at risk.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Gloria's kids were at their school Friday, about to get out for the day, and ex-husband Matt Barnes was scheduled to pick them up. We're told according to their child custody agreement, Matt had custody for the long, Labor Day weekend.

Our sources say at 2:55 PM -- 5 minutes before school let out -- Gloria arrived to get the twin boys. She got the children in her car and that's when Matt showed up and told her it was his weekend for the kids.

We're told Matt told the kids to get out of Gloria's car and into his. It appears the kids followed Matt's instructions, because we're told Gloria then flew into a rage, tried to follow Matt's car, screaming and cussing. Our sources say she then blocked Matt's car with the kids inside, and that's when someone called 911.

Gloria was arrested for child endangerment and also violating a court order. After police took Gloria to jail, they let Matt take the kids after he showed them paperwork he had custody this weekend.

Gloria was involved in a bitter divorce with ex-Laker Matt Barnes. She's currently engaged to to Derek Fisher. There was extreme bad blood between Barnes and Fisher, once teammates on the Lakers ... Barnes believes Fisher had hooked up with Gloria during their marriage. It seemed the feud was over, since Barnes congratulated Fisher on his engagement.

Dodgers Star Yasiel Puig Hit a Third Time By Burglars

Published | Updated

L.A. Dodgers star Yasiel Puig has been hit by burglars -- A THIRD TIME.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... at around 11:15 PM Thursday after a Dodgers game Yasiel was not at his San Fernando Valley home when his RING doorbell went off on his phone.

We're told Puig saw 2 guys trying to break into the house through the front door. He yelled at them through the phone and they beat a hasty retreat.

Last November, as Yasiel and his team were losing Game 7 of the World Series, a burglar busted through a window and made off with jewelry. And in March, 2017, he was burglarized to the tune of $500k worth of jewelry.

Just in the last few days, Wiz Khalifa was hit and Christina Milian -- both of whom have homes in the San Fernando Valley -- were also hit by burglars.

Cops believe all the stars who have been hit recently in the San Fernando Valley were not targeted because they were celebrities. HOWEVER ... it seems like basic common sense that when criminals know residents are away -- either because they have scheduled games or have posted their whereabouts on Instagram -- they become targets.

In Yasiel's case, no suspects ... so far.

Michael Irvin Confused By Dez Bryant's Plan ... He Needs To Sign Now!

Michael Irvin
GET BACK OUT THERE, DEZ!

Michael Irvin tells TMZ Sports he's straight-up perplexed by Dez Bryant's plan to wait until the season has begun to sign with a team ... saying the receiver NEEDS a squad ASAP!!

Remember ... Dez was hot and heavy with the Browns earlier this month -- but he turned down their offer and then said he's going to wait until "a lil bit later in the year" to find a roster.

Count Michael in the camp that thinks that's a silly decision ... 'cause he tells us his no. 1 piece of advice to Dez would be to get on a team NOW.

"I do know who's representing him, and I'm just a little bit confused with the direction that they are trying to go here," Michael says.

"I would tell him to find a team and get on a team. Find a team. Get on a team. Get back to belonging somewhere. Right now, you're like a vagabond where you don't have a team and you're wondering."

FYI ... Irvin says he has NO DOUBT Dez can return to All-Pro form -- he just needs to go somewhere as soon as possible so he can show that Week 1.

By the way ... Michael also tells us he loves the fit Teddy Bridgewater found when he was traded from the Jets to the Saints on Wednesday, saying T.B. can be the future after Drew Brees.

IT WAS PAST MY PRIME

Floyd Mayweather got lucky he didn't run into Oscar De La Hoya a couple years earlier, 'cause if he had, he'd have gotten his ass KNOCKED OUT ... so says Oscar himself.

The two men fought in 2007, when Oscar was 34 and Floyd was 30, and the fight ended in a hotly contested split decision ... although most thought Mayweather was the clear winner.

When we spoke with "Sugar" Shane Mosely -- who fought both guys -- he told us Oscar was clearly the better fighter in his prime and would have beaten Floyd if they fought a few years earlier.

081018_shane_mosley_boxing_kal
THE GREATEST ALIVE?

So, when we saw Oscar in L.A. promoting the Canelo vs. GGG fight, we had to ask how he felt about Mosely's claim.

"It's no secret that I fought Floyd when I was over the hill, past my prime." ODLH said ... "If I was about 28 or 29 years old, I would have knocked that ass out easy."

The fight is widely considered the event that made Mayweather an international star ... Floyd was never the B side again after beating De La Hoya, going on to set box office records as a fighter.

Here's the thing ... Oscar is 45, Floyd is 41. Now EVERYONE is over the hill, so might as well get it popping again right? We'd watch.

Fresh off snatchin' James Vick's soul, Justin Gaethje's got a wish list of 3 of the baddest MF'ers in the UFC -- Conor McGregor, Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Gaethje joined the guys on the "TMZ Sports" TV show (weeknights on FS1) just days after his devastating 87 second KO victory ... and he ain't lookin' to wait long before stepping back in the Octagon.

"Now, I needed this so bad. We're right back in the mix," Gaethje says ... "I'll even fight the loser of Khabib and Conor. Hell, I'm in."

Gaethje also says he's got work for Tony Ferguson -- who's fighting on the Conor-Khabib UFC 229 card in October.

"If something happens with Anthony Pettis. He stubs his toe, rolls an ankle. I'm in. I'll fight October 6th verse [Ferguson]. That's for damn sure."

"He's coming off a leg injury. I'll go in there and chop it off the rest of the way."
