Emmanuel Duron Football Player Who Attacked Ref Banned from High School Sports

Published

The high school football star, who attacked a referee in the middle of a game earlier this month, has been suspended from all high school sports for the rest of the school year.

And, since 18-year-old Emmanuel Duron is a senior -- the punishment will effectively end his career as a high school athlete.

Officials from the University Interscholastic League -- which oversees high school sports in Texas -- announced the punishment Monday stemming from the December 3 incident.

Duron was captured on video charging after head official Fred Gracia and smashing him to the ground in the 2nd quarter of a playoff game -- an apparent retaliation for being ejected from the game due to a late hit penalty.

Gracia was injured in the attack. Afterward, the ref's daughter said he was recovering and expected to be okay.

Duron -- one of the top players in the area -- was arrested and booked for assault causing bodily injury.

The UIL announced Duron's head coach at Edinburg High School, J.J. Leija, will also be placed on "probation" for the 2021-2022 school year over the incident.

There's more ... "Additionally, the Edinburg High School Athletic Department received a public reprimand and probation for all athletic activities for 2 years," the UIL added.

Long story short ... don't attack refs. Ever.

Anti-Masker Wild Rant at Costco ... Fist Bumps and Boos!!!

Published | Updated

The COVID vaccines aren't convincing this guy to put on a face covering and ride out the storm -- instead, he climbed a Costco clothing rack armed with a megaphone and let 'er rip.

This rant heard round the wholesaler went down Sunday in Tustin, CA ... and the guy taking the stand against face masks was greeted with a mix of fist bumps and haters.

During his moment in the spotlight, he spewed dubious claims about the CDC, masks and the virus ... all while standing in the middle of a display full of clothing. Call it his Kirkland Signature pulpit.

Some Costco shoppers showed support, apparently picking and choosing when to listen to science ... since they opted for fist bumps instead of handshakes. Others tried to stop the madness, but most remained focused on their shopping lists.

Seems Costco is a popular place for anti-makers to give their 2 cents -- we've seen similar scenes play out across the country, like this wise guy in Colorado.

Yet another reason a return to "normalcy" can't come fast enough.

Will Smith Plays Santa Claus for Teen w/ Cancer Jason Derulo & PS5?!?!

Published | Updated

Will Smith's not playing games when it comes to bringing smiles this holiday season ... and he's pulling out all the stops with help from his celeb pals and Gamestop.

Will Smith's season 2 of his Snapchat series "Will From Home" premiered Monday ... and this holiday season he's inviting viewers to watch him surprise the hell out of people across the country to celebrate their selflessness and bravery.

For the season 2 premiere, Will brought along Jason Derulo to shock 14-year-old Aiden, who was diagnosed with cancer in April. Aiden's father, Chuck, has been doing his best to comfort him during weekly chemo treatments -- but due to COVID-19, he usually can only stand outside Aiden's room ... dancing to make him laugh.

Well, Dad got a big helping hand from Jason, Will and Gamestop.

Derulo kicked things off by teaching Chuck and Aiden some new dance moves. The big surprise, though, came when Will had Chuck and Aiden open a box delivered to them. And, viola!!! It's a PS5, which at the time weren't available to the public yet.

The look on Aiden's face was priceless, and in addition to the dance moves and PS5 surprise from Gamestop ... a $10k donation was also made to the Cook Children's Medical Center, with Will and Gamestop each kicking in $5k.

The 10-episode series will have other special guests, including Alicia Keys, DJ Khaled, Lil Nas X, and Ludacris. It's a good bet there won't be a dry eye after each episode celebrates real-life heroes.

NYC Cathedral Shooting Captured on Video ... Gunman Taken Out by cops on steps

SHOT ON THE STAIRS
UPDATE

11:37 AM PT -- Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the gunman's name is Luis Vasquez Gomez, and he has a prior conviction for attempted murder.

The moment a crazed gunman was shot to death on the steps of an NYC church was captured on camera -- and the video is absolutely intense.

NYPD officers rushed to St. John the Divine Cathedral Sunday in Harlem, responding to reports of a guy opening fire into the air at an outdoor concert. Fortunately, nobody was hurt and folks were able to either escape outright or take cover inside the cathedral -- but it quickly led to a tense standoff right out front.

A man across the street recorded the fatal moment the gunman was struck by a bullet, which took him down. Prior to that though, he repeatedly dodged several shots from cops by taking cover behind a pillar at the cathedral's front doors.

You can hear cops demanding he drop his gun and surrender ... and at one point the guy screams "kill me" multiple times. NYPD says he was hit in the head, and later pronounced dead at a hospital.

The gunman was the only reported casualty or injury.

A ton of folks who'd taken shelter inside were safely evacuated -- and you can tell they're all rattled. So far, there's no suspected motive for the attempted shooting ... the only thing cops are saying is he came armed with multiple firearms -- including semi-automatic weapons -- some knives, rope, gasoline, wire and a bible in his backpack.

New Jersey Gym Owner Defies COVID Rules ... $1.2m in Fines and We're Not Closing!!!

COME AND GET ME

A gym owner in New Jersey seems to be daring the governor and local authorities to come at him (bro) -- saying he's gotten over a million bucks in fines for staying open ... something he says he'll continue to do no matter what.

The guy's name is Ian Smith, co-owner of Atilis Gym in Bellmawr -- where he and his partners have been fully opening their doors to the public ... despite state mandates that limit the number of people in gyms and mandatory mask-wearing. He's enforced none of it.

His defiance has been an ongoing saga over the past several months of the pandemic -- but a new video Smith released might as well be a clear line in the sand he's drawing.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Check it out ... it's him in the middle of his packed gym -- where no face coverings can be seen -- and he's going through typed-out cue cards that lay out what's been going on there. He says the gym has over a million dollars in fines ($1.2 mil to be specific) and the township continues to fine him around $15k a day every day he breaks the rules.

Smith also writes that he and his partners have even been arrested for flouting the regulations -- but adds ... he simply doesn't care, and will keep on keepin' on.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

He then takes aim at Gov. Phil Murphy ... saying he'll probably see this video and fine him again, but watch -- Smith is calling him out, because he makes it seem like the fines are meaningless and anything short of forcibly locking the place up with chains won't stop him.

It poses a very real and serious question -- how much authority do local governments and state governments have in getting their citizens to comply, and what do you do when even a MILLION DOLLARS isn't enough to sway someone to act right??? It's a tricky predicament.

We've reached out to Gov. Murphy's office -- since he's the subject of interest here -- to see what they have to say about it ... they told us they had "nothing to add."

Amazon Driver Chewed Out for Causing Traffic Jam How Long Was He Parked???

Published | Updated

An Amazon driver making deliveries parked his van in the middle of the road, and then got confronted by people who were held up behind him ... but a key piece of information is missing to direct the outrage here.

Check out this intense clip of an Amazon driver in Virginia getting into an argument with another fella who got out of his own vehicle to tell him to move his car and park it in space along the sidewalk ... and recording part of the encounter at the same time.

The video starts right in the heat of the moment -- the guy filming tells the driver to move his van, or he'll move it for him ... because him parking in the middle of a narrow street has caused a massive traffic jam of several vehicles, who were all trying to get a move on.

The Amazon driver holds his ground, saying he's going to carry out his job duty and deliver the packages at the house right next to them -- and then only after that would he move. He basically says they're gonna have to wait, which pisses off the camera man like no other.

For starters, there's no context or insight to the video as to how long the Amazon driver had been parked out there in the road like that. If it was just a few seconds, then the people who got out to make a fuss about it are clearly in the wrong and overreacting.

If, however, the driver had been perched for a while ... it's reasonable for folks to start getting impatient and demand he move. There's really no way of telling for sure from this.

The bigger question, perhaps, is whether this is in line with the Amazon driver policy -- namely, are they instructed to park in the middle of the road like this, or are they told to try and find a parking space if available to avoid these types of situations?

We've all seen delivery trucks from different shipping companies double park or sometimes just sit in the middle of the road -- but it's unclear if that's the official directive from said companies, or something drivers started doing on their own over the years.

In any case, a rep for Amazon tells us they are currently looking into this incident.

Kim Kardashian I'm Hitting Pause on Elf on a Shelf ... 10 Days of Quarantine!!!

SEALED ON A SHELF

Kim Kardashian is exhausted -- having to collect four different Elf on a Shelf dolls every day until Christmas -- so she waved her wand and gave 'em "COVID," and then put the toys on a healthy timeout.

The reality star posted a hilarious video on Instagram Sunday, showing her four children's own elves in glass jars -- where she says they'll remain until at least the 23rd so they can quarantine ... this because she just needs a break from all the EOAS household fun.

It's freaking funny ... Kim wrote up a note for her little ones -- North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm -- which makes it seem like it's from the elves themselves. It says, "We are on a 10 Day Quarantine! We still have our magic and will be back to flying around in 10 days."

Sounds like this will do the trick and give Kim and co. some peace of mind -- she says she's tired of having to remember to collect all 4 of these things from all over the house, so she took things into her own hands and deemed them to be riddled with COVID. Don't worry, kiddies ... something tells us they'll make a full recovery -- even if it's less than 14 days.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

If you're unfamiliar, Elf on a Shelf is a popular holiday tradition. It's based on a book of the same name and entails you putting your own elf in secretive places throughout your home to "spy" on people for Santa, to make sure they're nice throughout December.

There's been a new twist to the meme/game, and celebs have gone to town on it this Christmas season. Instead of an elf, they're putting other celebs and/or movies and characters that rhyme with their own name, and photoshopping them onto their shoulders.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

For example ... Elizabeth Banks plopped Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump onto her shoulder, and dubbed it Hanks-on-Banks. Reese Witherspoon got in on the fun too, and did "Grease"-on-Reese. Ryan Seacrest did Luke Bryan-on-a-Ryan, and Mariah Carey did Jim Carrey-on-Carey ... and J Lo's actually had a few ideas that she loved. She compiled her favorites in a post.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Kim herself hasn't done one yet -- so a few suggestions, if we may. She could go with an age-old classic ... the Jim Belushi elf (aka, Jim-on-Kim). KK could also go geopolitical and get Kim Jong-un on there ... Kim-on-Kim. The possibilities are endless -- give it a go, will ya?

United Airlines Explains Booting Family ... Over Toddler Refusing a Mask

Published
UPDATE

10:25 AM PT -- United Airlines has responded to the incident, saying, "The health and safety of our employees and customers is our highest priority, which is why we have a multi-layered set of policies, including mandating that everyone onboard two and older wears a mask."

UPDATE

They continued, "We are investigating this specific incident and have made contact with the family. We also refunded their tickets and returned their car seat and bags."

UPDATE

One last thing ... sources connected to the airline tell us the family has NOT been banned from flying with them. We're also told UA is far from the only airline with this policy ... it's pretty much been adopted across the board here in the U.S. based on CDC recs.

This is insane ... a family was kicked off a United Airlines jet and banned for life ... all because their daughter refused to wear her mask ... AND SHE'S 2!

Eliz Orban and her husband boarded the jet from Denver to Newark with their little girl. The parents were masked up and tried hard to get their daughter to wear the mask, but she wasn't having it. Watch the video ... Eliz's husband pretty much did everything he could ... to no avail.

That's when a flight attendant came up to them and announced they were being booted from the jet. Eliz's husband tried explaining he did his best, and he was more than willing to cover his daughter's face, but the flight attendant wouldn't budge. They had to go.

Now get this ... United wouldn't remove their luggage from the cargo hold, and that included their daughter's car seat. And, on top of that, Eliz says United has permanently banned them from flying.

These are the mixed messages that are driving folks crazy. Governors are keeping pre-schools open because they say small kids don't pose much of a risk, yet this happens. The CDC has recommended children at the age of 2 or older should wear face masks, but this kid is right on the cusp at 2.

Canadian Police Cop Who Issued 'Revenge Ticket' ... History of Combative Behavior

POWER TRIPPIN'

The Canadian cop who was caught on camera issuing a revenge ticket to a motorist who dared to call him out for not wearing a mask has a history of getting confrontational.

TMZ's obtained a video of an incident back in November 2019 ... showing the same Winnipeg cop stopping a motorist in Winnipeg. The woman who videotaped the incident says her fiance saw the cop peering into the window of their vehicle, so she asked, "Why were you looking into my truck."

That apparently set the cop off ... he gets in the man's grill before threatening to arrest him, saying, "If I count to 5, you're in cuffs."

The woman claims the cop put her fiance in the back of his squad car and threatened to arrest her if she kept filming. She says the cop eventually let her fiance go ... but more than a year later, she says she recognized him issuing that revenge ticket on the news.

We reached out to Winnipeg Police for comment about the November 2019 video and an official tells TMZ ... both videos are now the subject of a Winnipeg Police Services Professional Standards Unit investigation.

As we reported ... the WPS says it "dealt with" the cop's recent incident but added no other details, except it's trying to get in touch with the motorist who got the revenge ticket.

Las Vegas' McCarran Airport Man Scales Airplane Wing Falls Off Hard, Instantly Arrested

Published | Updated

What happens in Vegas didn't stay in Vegas for this one -- a guy climbed onto an airplane wing, and bopped his head after a hard fall ... only to be met with handcuffs down below.

This went down Saturday at McCarran Airport, where an Alaska Airlines flight that was set to take off for Portland got an unwelcome visitor that prevented it from taking off. It was this dude, who's said to have come out of nowhere -- but somehow made his way onto the wing.

People were amused at first, snapping photos of the guy as he sat out there awkwardly. Eventually cops were called and tried intercepting the guy -- but it was tricky, as officers had to scale the plane themselves and get out there on the wing with him.

The man did not want to go quietly, as you can see ... he avoided the cops and went out even further on the wing tip. Then, he removed his socks and shoes -- tossing them on the runway -- and proceeded to try and clip what little wing there was left to grab.

Long story short ... it didn't end well for this fella. He lost his grip and then tumbled down to the ground, where he hit his head first and then fell limp like a rag doll. Cops didn't hestitate though -- they pounced on him and threw on the cuffs. Reports say he was arrested.

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department also says they believe the guy hopped over a perimeter fence at McCarran and ran rampant onto the grounds. They said he might have mental issues too.

No word on his condition -- but all we can say is ... ouch.

Regina Hall's 50th Birthday Drops Hilarious Song 'A Bitch Is Old *Clap, Clap* Today!'

Published

Regina Hall turned 50 this weekend, but she has NOT lost her sense of humor ... if anything, it's sharper -- and she's leaning into it with an awesome song for her big day.

The actress and comedian rang in the big 5-0 Saturday with a hilarious home video and song she wrote -- in which she gives praise for reaching a life milestone ... and still looking great while doing it -- something RH is well aware of, as you can see.

Regina says her motive for the ditty's pretty simple -- "Because laughter keeps you forever young I wrote a special song for a special Birthday."

The song has the same refrain/hook throughout -- "A bitch is old today," which is sung a cappella style and carried on beat with claps in the background. It looks like Regina had a little help making this, and she shouted out all the cameos on and behind the camera.

Anyway, back to the song. It gets pretty raunchy -- right up Regina's alley -- because at one point she talks about being 50, but also still having good ... uh, well, all the parts still work. And then some.

The video shows you around her home, including her pool and trampoline -- where she bounces around for fun. She's also seen hanging out with some younger gals in bathing suits, who help hit a certain line home about shouting out young "bitches" ... and old ones.

Long story short ... Regina's clearly taking 50 in stride, and keeping the laughs coming.

Alleged Police Brutality Crazy Video of Old Man Wrestling Cop

POUNDING ON PAVEMENT

An Ohio couple says they were brutalized by cops during a simple traffic stop for tinted windows, but the Police Chief says there's way more to this story than the video shows.

It went down in Hamersville, when cops stopped a car driven by a young woman who did not have a license. Her aunt, Tammy Hampton, came with her husband Carl to take the car back home. Police Chief Guy Sutton tells TMZ, Tammy was ordered to stay clear of the car the cops stopped but she defied orders. Tammy says she was cuffed, kicked in the legs and told she was being arrested for resisting.

That's when her 65-year-old husband got involved and things got hot. He told cops, "Get your hands off my wife," and things escalated into a wrestling/punching match. The Chief says his officers took Carl to the ground after he got in the face of one of the officers.

The cop pulled a stun gun, and that's when someone screamed Carl just had heart surgery, so the officer backed off. Carl was taken into custody for obstruction and resisting arrest. Carl suffered a black eye and abrasions, but did not need hospitalization.

Tammy and Carl were not taken to jail because of COVID concerns. They were given citations and released.

For their part, the Hampton's are talking lawsuit. The Chief has launched an internal affairs investigation.

PLOWING THROUGH THE CROWD

The woman who plowed into a half dozen protesters on the streets of New York says she was in fear for her life after protesters screamed, "White privilege, Bitch!" and started pounding on her car.

Kathleen Casillo was driving her BMW with her 29-year-old daughter in NYC Friday when she stopped at a light where protesters were gathered demonstrating against ICE. She says they started banging on her car and pulling the door handles to get inside. She says she feared for her and her daughter's lives, saying images from news reports of drivers being pulled from their cars and beaten flashed before her eyes.

The 52-year-old woman says she floored it in fear, and doesn't even remember hitting anyone.

Hit people she did ... 6 to be exact, who were propelled into the air like rag dolls. All 6 suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Casillo stopped a block from the incident and was arrested for reckless endangerment.

Youth Football Coach Investigated for Child Abuse Victim's Mom Doesn't Want to Press Charges

Published | Updated
UPDATE

10:53 AM PT -- The coach who attacked the kid has been identified at Gerrell Williams -- who actually worked for a Sheriff's Dept. in Georgia.

UPDATE

Law enforcement tells TMZ Sports ... the Osceola County Sheriff's Office in Florida investigated Williams for possible child abuse after someone sent them video of the Dec. 7 incident.

UPDATE

Investigators noted the violence in the video and ultimately made contact with the victim's mother ... but she made it clear she did NOT want to press charges against the coach.

UPDATE

That doesn't mean he's off the hook -- it's possible prosecutors can move forward with charges and use the video evidence. But, it's much tougher to get a conviction without a cooperating victim.

UPDATE

As for Williams, the Chatham County Sheriff's Office in Georgia confirms he was an employee -- "He was a counselor in the detention center."

UPDATE

But, the CCSO says after seeing the video, Williams is "no longer an employee."

UPDATE

9:41 AM PT -- The coach who smacked the kid has now been banned from all American Youth Football activities, the org. tells TMZ Sports.

UPDATE

We spoke with AYF Executive Vice President Adam Laufer who tells us, "We are of course beyond disappointed in the coach's actions, which are wholly inconsistent with the fundamental value of youth sports."

UPDATE

"The coach has been banned indefinitely from all future AYF events and activities."

UPDATE

AYF is a massive youth football league with a presence in all 50 U.S. states and 6 countries.

LeBron James was so outraged after watching a youth football coach smack a child during a game this month ... he said he might've straight-up fought the guy over it all if he were there in person.

"If I there and it's not even my kid we gone have more than words for sure," the Lakers superstar said Wednesday night.

If you haven't seen it ... the video is pretty disturbing -- a grown-man ATTACKS one his players after a play on the field, hitting the kid in the head multiple times before throwing him to the sideline.

The incident all reportedly went down at the American Youth Football National Championships in Kissimmee, Florida ... and the child is reportedly only 9 years old

The man was hit with a TON of backlash on social media for his actions ... with many people calling for his job -- and even jail time.

The coach issued a video apology ... saying, "At the end of the day, I am a man. I'm not going to make no excuses for what I did" -- but, clearly, the mea culpa wasn't enough for LeBron.

James Instagrammed the video and SLAMMED the coach ... adding, "Ain't no way!! Couldn't be my kid."

Other athletes have expressed similar outrage ... with Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe writing, "Even IF* that’s his kid, I’ll whip him."

"I won’t let anyone prey on the weak or vulnerable in front of me," Sharpe continued. "Not going to happen."

It's unclear if the coach will face any criminal charges -- or even discipline from the youth league -- over the incident.
