What to Know About Charlie Kirk's Suspected Killer Tyler Robinson
The shooting of Charlie Kirk on the Utah Valley University campus in September 2025 sparked a wide range of reactions across the country ... including an intense manhunt for the political commentator's killer.
The media figure's fans didn't have to wait long before authorities arrested Tyler Robinson, who's been accused of firing the single rifle shot that took Kirk's life.
We're going to look into the personal background of the accused murderer and see what led up to the harrowing events of September 10th.
Robinson Was Raised In Utah
Robinson's originally from Washington County, Utah ... located roughly 260 miles from the site of the shooting.
The murder suspect reportedly performed well during his high school years, and his mother made a post on her Facebook page to announce he'd earned a 4.0 GPA and scored highly on his ACT.
He received a scholarship to attend Utah State University, although he only went there for one semester.
Robinson, who was raised with two younger brothers, had no criminal record prior to the alleged shooting.
He Became Interested In Politics As A Young Adult
Robinson was unaffiliated with a political party, and while he was registered to vote at the time of the shooting, voting records listed him as "inactive," meaning he hadn't cast a ballot in the last two general elections.
His parents, however, were both registered as Republicans, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Robinson's family recently told investigators he had become increasingly interested in politics prior to the shooting, and the murder suspect described Kirk as being "full of hate."
He allegedly left inscriptions on several bullet casings, one of which included a reference to the song "Bella Ciao," which was dedicated to Italian resistance against Nazi fascists during World War II.
Tyler Was Captured With The Assistance Of A Family Friend
Robinson was taken into custody on the evening of September 11, according to FBI Director Kash Patel.
The murder suspect allegedly confessed his role in the shooting to his father, who urged his son to turn himself in. Robinson initially refused -- saying he'd rather commit suicide -- but later changed his mind. His father then contacted a youth pastor for assistance, and the pastor called authorities.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox went on to thank the individuals "who did the right thing" at a press conference regarding the murder suspect's arrest.
Robinson has since been booked on charges of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a weapon causing serious bodily injury, and obstruction of justice. It's also worth noting the death penalty is an option in Utah.

How Amanda Knox Navigated Her Complicated Legal Saga
Amanda Knox's story has had plenty of twists and turns after she was accused of murdering her former roommate Meredith Kercher back in 2007.
The author was tried and retried for the crime, which took place while she was studying in Italy, and she was eventually able to walk free ... from most of the charges, anyway.
We're going to see what led up to Amanda's legal saga, and check out how the harrowing story's led her to become a successful author.
Knox Was Born And Raised In Seattle
Knox was born in Seattle, and she was raised in the city alongside her sister and two half-sisters.
She remained in her hometown during her college years, as she attended classes at the University of Washington, where she studied multiple subjects ... taking classes in creative writing, German and Italian.
Knox eventually made the decision to study abroad, and moved to Perugia, Italy in 2007, where she resided in rented accommodations alongside Kercher.
Knox's Studies Were Interrupted By Kercher's Murder
Knox settled into her Italian life quickly, as she took on part-time work at a bar owned by Patrick Lumumba and began a relationship with fellow student Raffaele Sollecito.
Her overseas experience turned chaotic in November 2007, when Kercher was found dead with a slit throat in their shared apartment.
Knox, along with Sollecito and Lumumba, were arrested by Italian authorities, although the bar owner was ultimately released. Knox, Sollecito, and Rudy Guede, an acquaintance of Kercher's boyfriend, were later charged with the student's murder.
Guede had a fast-tracked trial, and he was found guilty of sexual assault and murder in 2008. Knox and Sollecito were both found guilty of the same charges the following year, and the former was also found guilty of slander after implicating Lumumba in the murder, according to The Guardian.
Knox Was Eventually Released On Appeal
Knox and Sollecito's appeal trial began in November 2010, and they were acquitted the following October after having spent four years behind bars.
However, the pair's acquittal was overturned in March 2013, and a new trial regarding the pair's guilt commenced six months later.
Knox and Sollecito were found guilty of Kercher's murder for the second time in January 2014, and she was sentenced to 28 and a half years.
The pair's second convictions were ultimately overturned in March 2015, and this time ... there was no retrial.
She Became An Author While Her Cases Played Out
Knox's career as an author began over the course of her legal saga, as she released a memoir, "Waiting to Be Heard," in April 2013.
She went on to marry fellow author Christopher Robinson in 2018, according to People, and they welcomed a daughter, Eureka, in 2021, and a son, Echo, in 2023.
Knox made a bid to overturn her slander conviction from 2009, although the ruling was ultimately upheld in January 2025.
The author's second memoir, entitled "Free: My Search For Meaning," was released two months later, and her story's been adapted for both film and television, including the 2025 series "The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox."

Get More From TMZ With Google's New Preferred Sources Feature!
Google launched this really great feature to let users pick which sites they want to get their content from earlier this year, and if you've been waiting for an opportunity to see more from TMZ and TooFab -- and why wouldn't you, really -- now's your chance!
The new feature's called Preferred Sources, and what it does is push relevant content from sites you trust right to the top of your search. Oh, and the feature's only available in the United States and India right now.
And just in case you're not exactly tech-savvy, we're going to walk you through how to set up your choices. There are two ways to do this, and both options are pretty easy.
You Can Either Go Right To Preferred Sources -- Or Set Them With A Search
The first method involves going directly to Google's Source Preferences page, and we included a link to the page way up in the second sentence. Click on the search bar and type the name of any news source -- we'd recommend TMZ, TooFab, or both.
Click the checkbox on the right side of the site's name, click "Take Me To Google Search," and you're all set.
The second way to set your Preferred Sources is by heading to Google and searching for a newsworthy topic. Once you have a search, an icon featuring a card with a star should appear next to the "Top Stories" section, which you'll have to click.
After hitting the icon, it'll be the same process as the first method, just type your sources -- we only had to hit the "T" key before we saw our name pop up -- make your selections with the checkboxes, click "Reload Results," and you're good to go.
Once your sources have been selected, you'll see more content from sites you've picked much more frequently in the Top Stories section. Otherwise, the content should show up in a section called "From Your Sources."
And just in case you were wondering, picking a site as one of your Preferred Sources won't stop other sites' content from showing up in your searches.
You Can Optimize Your Google News Feed By Following A Source
If you feel like going a little further with this process, you can actually customize your Google News feed to prioritize the sources you know and love.
What you're gonna do is head to Google News and type the name of a source into the search bar, which you'll identify by finding the magnifying glass icon.
Once you've picked a source from the drop-down bar, all you have to do is click "Following," which is located at the top right of the page and marked with a star icon, and that's it!
Whichever way you pick us through Google, just remember, when you're looking for the hottest news from the entertainment world, we've got you covered!

Kirk's article for Breitbart brought him to the attention of entrepreneur Bill Montgomery, and the pair cofounded Turning Point USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to popularizing conservative ideologies with high school and college students, in 2012.
The commentator's public profile rose after he began making appearances on college campuses, where he would challenge students to debates centered on hot-button political issues.
Kirk later started a podcast, "The Charlie Kirk Show," and he grew close to several prominent conservative figures over the years, including President and president Donald Trump. He also spoke in favor of Trump during the 2020 and 2024 Republican National Conventions.
He also authored several books over the course of his career, many of which were dedicated to covering the same topics Turning Point USA prioritized.
Kirk Was Shot While On A Speaking Tour
Kirk was shot while making an appearance at Utah Valley University, located in Orem, Utah, in September 2025.
The commentator was taking part in a Q&A session as part of his "American Comeback" tour when he was suddenly shot in the neck after finishing a statement.
He was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was listed as being in critical condition before he died.
The shooting resulted in widespread reactions from political figures, and Trump later confirmed his death on his Truth Social network.

Hut, Hut, Hike!!! Fans Are Throwing Dildos Left And Right At NFL Games
We all know some sports fans can get crazy at stadiums and arenas ... but a new low was reached in 2025, when dildos started flying at players during matchups.
Yeah, that's where we are these days ... and even though many fans might have hoped the trend died after a few people got arrested for their actions, sex toys ended up on the field at several NFL games during 2025's first week of the regular season.
We're going to take a look at how sex toy tossing at sports events became a trend, and see how it jumped from one sport to the next.
Dildos Have Made Plenty Of Appearances At WNBA Games
In case you haven't heard, dildos being tossed at sporting events isn't exactly a new thing ... because they were thrown on the court at several WNBA games.
The first incident took place in late July 2025, when a dildo was thrown during the fourth quarter of the Golden State Valkyries' game against the Atlanta Dream.
Several other games were interrupted by sex toys making appearances on the court over the course of the season, which were usually tossed off or kicked away by referees.
The dildo tosses have resulted in the arrest of several individuals who've been accused of interrupting games with the immature gesture.
The NFL Didn't Even Make It Past Preseason Without A Toss
The WNBA's dildo tosses were met with widespread reactions -- many of which were negative -- and lots of sports fans brushed off the incidents as a passing trend.
However, the trend proved to be alive and well during the NFL's preseason, when a green dildo made it onto the field at a Vikings-Titans preseason game in August 2025.
It's worth noting sex toys have been present at NFL games in the past, as an overzealous Buffalo Bills fan tossed one on the field while watching his team play the Patriots back in 2016, according to the New York Post.
Oh, and the Bills Mafia pulled off the same stunt the following year when the Patriots returned for a rematch.
The League's First Week Of 2025 Has Seen Two Dildo Tosses During Games
The NFL's first week of the 2025 season started off with a bang, as a bright green dildo was thrown on the field while the Cincinnati Bengals played on the Cleveland Browns' home turf.
The Athletic reported the sex toy was thrown from the Browns' legendary fan section known as the Dawg Pound ... located in Huntington Bank Field's east end zone.
An official on the field ultimately tossed the dildo off the field, and the game continued without further phallic interruption.
However, another dildo was tossed out while the Indianapolis Colts played the Miami Dolphins, and it ended up in the end zone. Sorry, it did not count as an official score.
