Neil Young just went after President Trump's campaign in court for using his songs at rallies ... and the rocker isn't pulling any punches.
In his lawsuit, Neil claims the President's campaign is still playing his classics "Rockin' in the Free World" and "Devil's Sidewalk" at rallies. According to the docs, Neil says he "in good conscience cannot allow his music to be used as a ‘theme song’ for a divisive, un-American campaign of ignorance and hate."
He alleges the campaign did not have a license or permission to play his songs at any of Trump's public events. And, Young says it's not like this is anything new, either.
Neil's been pissed at Trump's campaign, and warned it to stop doing this when he was a candidate back in 2015. Neil's joined a long list of artists who are telling Trump's team to cut the BS. Tom Petty and The Rolling Stones are just some of the other acts who've gone after the campaign.
Neil wants damages and an injunction to ban him from playing it at campaign rallies.
11:10 AM PT -- The driver, Nicholas, tells us he picked Danny up at Denver Intl Airport -- passengers are supposed to wait at an island that's accessible from both sides -- and Nicholas says he chose the safer location. Nicholas says he didn't call the cops for the incident.
A rideshare passenger caused loads of trouble for a driver without even leaving the curb ... launching a sneak attack with a bottle of hand sanitizer after a tense showdown.
The shocking interaction was caught on video, and you see the irate passenger squirting sanitizer all over the car before chucking the bottle at the driver's head.
This ride that literally went nowhere started out on the bad ... the driver asks the passenger, Danny, to put his mask on ... and he responds by shading the driver ... telling him he picked him up on the wrong side of the street.
The driver doesn't take the dig too kindly and tells Danny to get out of the car because the ride is over ... and Danny starts arguing before launching his surprise, sanitizer attack.
The Aurora Police Department in Colorado has issued an apology after its officers pulled guns on a Black family and placed a woman and 2 minors in cuffs, because cops thought they were in a stolen vehicle ... which they weren't, and it's even worse than that.
Video of the Sunday incident shows Brittney Gilliam being led away from the car in handcuffs, while other members of her family -- her 6-year-old daughter, 12-year-old sister and 14 and 17-year-old nieces -- are lying on their stomachs in the parking lot.
Clearly, they are terrified and some can be heard screaming and crying ... and Gilliam says her sister and 17-year-old niece were also placed in cuffs while cops verified the vehicle was not stolen.
Gilliam told CNN she had taken the girls to get their nails done, and they were sitting in the parking lot with the car turned off when cops approached from behind. She says the officers had their weapons drawn and told them to put their hands out of the window and exit the vehicle.
Gilliam and the 2 others were placed in cuffs as cops accused her of being in a stolen car. She says she explained to them it WAS stolen in February but returned to her, and she had all the documentation for the vehicle. Cops then realized their mistake.
Interim Chief of Police Vanessa Wilson says she's called Gilliam's family "to apologize and to offer any help we can provide, especially for the children who may have been traumatized" by the ordeal.
She adds ... "I have reached out to our victim advocates so we can offer age-appropriate therapy that the city will cover."
According to the Aurora PD ... cops received a call of a possible stolen vehicle and Gilliam's had a matching plate and description, but turns out -- the plate info was for a motorcycle registered in another state.
The department adds ... "The confusion may have been due, in part, to the fact that the stopped car was reported stolen earlier in the year. After realizing the mistake, officers immediately unhandcuffed everyone involved, explained what happened and apologized."
This incident comes as the Aurora PD is already under scrutiny, and facing a reopened investigation, for the death of Elijah McClain. As we reported ... the unarmed 23-year-old was walking home from a convenience store in August 2019 when he was stopped by 3 white cops.
During his arrest, he was placed in a chokehold and briefly lost consciousness. When paramedics arrived, McClain was given ketamine to sedate him, but he then suffered a heart attack in the ambulance and was declared dead 3 days later.
The officers involved in the arrest were all fired, and Colorado's health dept. has launched a probe into the use of ketamine.
7:49 AM PT -- 8/4 We spoke with a witness who tells us Addison entered the BK enraged and looking for a female employee who he apparently knew. We're told Addison first threw his keys, and the witness attempted to cool him down -- but it didn't work -- that's when the video started. Despite speculation online, we're told the incident did not appear to be racially motivated.
UPDATE
5:31 PM PT -- It was previously believed Addison was fired from his job at Harbor Freight Tools for the slap, however, a rep for the company tells us that while they don't condone his actions ... Addison was no longer an employee there at the time of the incident.
UPDATE
1:36 PM PT -- Cops tell us the man, 21-year-old Austin Addison, was charged with harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
This Burger King lounge is anything but chill ... a customer slapped the hell out of an employee to punctuate a rant, and the incident was caught on camera.
Here's the deal ... the video picks up with the upset customer screaming about a BK employee who "can't count except for robbery and stealing stuff." Next, the man threatens to somehow get the employee put in jail for the rest of her life.
Sounds like he was allegedly shorted on some chicken nuggets and decided it would be a good idea to yell and scream at the manager, or whoever was working the counter, without a face covering ... and make his point with a slap to the face.
The BK employee took it all in stride, and tried to warn the guy he was on camera ... but that didn't stop the slap heard around the lounge.
1:34 PM PT -- Amazon has pulled the item, telling us, "All sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who do not will be subject to action including potential removal of their account. The product in question is no longer available."
Amazon's hawking a British line of men's shoes, but shockingly didn't catch the blatantly racist description for one of the shoe colors.
The "Florence Shakespeare" line is peddling its leather Oxford shoes, and the Amazon listing shows you can get 'em in lots of colors, including "N*****-brown." As of this posting ... those words, uncensored, are live on Amazon.
The rest of the posting reads like a normal shoe ad. The first line says, "Occasion:Whether you are working, driving, wedding,Business or other casual lifestyles it is a great choice to wear." However, the rest is jumbled with awful grammar -- so, it feels like something someone threw up as a racist gag/scam.
Still, the fact that it went live on Amazon has to make ya wonder what the screening process is like -- as in, do any human eyeballs get a final look before it's posted.
We've reached out to Amazon for comment ... so far, no word back.
Forget Johnny Football ... just call him Johnny Daredevil now!!!
Here's footage of former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel leaping off a rooftop and doing a front flip into a pool ... and it's INSANE!!!
Unclear where the debauchery went down ... but Manziel posted the video Sunday -- showing a slow-mo shot of him soaring roughly 20 feet through the air before splashing down.
It's pretty scary ... the pool ain't exactly huge, and he appears to be just feet away from the shallow end!!!
Of course, jumping off high things into water is becoming old hat for the recently retired football player ... it was just a few weeks ago when he posted vid of him throwing himself off a cliff.
1:14 PM PT -- Welp, that was fast. The video Tekashi was filming JUST THIS MORNING is already up out in the ether -- as in, it's up on YouTube mere hours after shooting it.
UPDATE
The song's called "PUNANI" and it features T69 and a bunch of his on-set buddies cruising around Brooklyn in a crap ton of Lambos and SUVs -- flashing cash, showing off hot girls, the usual really. It's not a bad song either ... as for the production value, we'll let you judge.
UPDATE
UPDATE
Now, if you watch it ... you'll see that the dude and his posse are on the move and kinda all over the city -- or at least all around that borough. There's a part where they're on the bridge on top of the cars, seemingly driving recklessly ... which has caught the attention of NYPD.
UPDATE
Law enforcement sources tell us they're alarmed at the behavior and could potentially summons him for violating basic traffic laws, but we're also told ... it doesn't sound like any criminal charges would stick to him from this. Also, dude didn't need a permit for the way he was filming ... which was basically guerrilla-style. So, no harm no foul, really, legally speaking.
UPDATE
Anyway, here's the first of what we're sure will be many new videos and songs to come now that the boy is out and about. Be easy out there, 6ix9ine.
Tekashi 6ix9ine is fully free, having just completed house arrest, and he's already out shooting a music video.
We got this vid of Tekashi out in Brooklyn Sunday, bright and early (7:30 AM) .... alongside some super wild rides.
It's no surprise ... a few security guards were patrolling the area, along with a massive entourage. Security was blocking several streets, stopping drivers from coming through. It's pretty clear they had permits to shoot the video ... otherwise, cops would have shut it down.
The cars are crazy -- 2 colorful Lambos, an orange McLaren, a yellow Dodge Charger and a Benz.
Tekashi, who was released from house arrest Saturday, is on 5 years supervised probation. Most people thought he'd go into witness protection, but he's shunned that, and the music video is evidence ... he's not hiding from anyone.
TikTok might become an American-owned company on the heels of the Trump administration's security concerns about the app -- if Microsoft can get a deal done.
The software behemoth went public Sunday with its plans, announcing it was pursuing to purchase TikTok from its parent company ByteDance, and Microsoft's CEO has already had a chat with President Trump about the potential deal.
Microsoft to continue discussions on potential TikTok purchase in the United States. https://t.co/mCDeeVPzyX
It seems they're pretty eager to please the Prez, too ... saying, "Microsoft fully appreciates the importance of addressing the President’s concerns. It is committed to acquiring TikTok subject to a complete security review and providing proper economic benefits to the United States, including the United States Treasury."
In other words, they're gonna make sure they put "America first" here ... both on the security side and the economic side. Music to the administration's ears, no doubt.
There's more though -- Microsoft says it's planning to complete their discussions with the China-run TikTok team no later than September 15 -- and in the meantime ... they'll continue to brief Uncle Sam and co. on where they stand. Sounds like the feds are onboard with this.
#TikTokLivesMatter#Renegade@realDonaldTrump If they ban TikTok in the United States, they will lose a lot of their youngest voters. I hope you have thought it over carefully. Please don't let TikTok ban you. So many TikTokers have built their whole life's work with TikTok. pic.twitter.com/9cMZGmfV01
Remember, last week Trump said he was considering banning TikTok from the States outright -- BUT, he also said they were looking at alternatives ... Microsoft included, apparently.
One last thing on how Microsoft plans to address Trump's security concerns ... they say, among other measures, their crack team will ensure that all private data of American TikTok users is transferred, and any still out there being stored in foreign servers ... will be deleted.
No word on a price tag yet, but the bottom line here -- all the viral TikTok'ers out there are probably safe for now, and still have a home. PHEW ...
America might run on Dunkin' -- but one of the chain's employees allegedly runs on hatred for police, 'cause he got busted for spitting into a cop's morning cup o' Joe.
This man here -- 25-year-old Vincent Sessler -- was arrested in Chicago after a state police officer claims he innocently ordered a cup earlier this week from the Dunkin' Donuts where Sessler works ... and upon removing the lid to cool it down down, discovered some fresh phlegm sitting on top.
Police have a much more descriptive way of putting it though -- they say the officer "observed a large, thick piece of mucus which was later confirmed to be saliva" floating inside.
Chi-Town authorities also say that after an investigation was conducted, they arrested Sessler for disorderly conduct, reckless conduct and battery to a peace officer. Someone even posted a photo of the alleged loogie ... it's gross.
The director for the Illinois State Police slammed the alleged crime, saying the men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line every day don't deserve this type of treatment. He added, "They deserve better than this insulting and dangerous treatment. For their safety, ISP officers and employees will be prohibited from patronizing this location."
One of the most vile, disgusting displays we've seen in a long time went down in Nokomis, Florida, when a white supremacist spewing his love for Trump and hatred for others violently attacked a woman.
A self-proclaimed white supremacist in Florida attacks an innocent woman after praising Donald Trump pic.twitter.com/vCec0xn87S
The self-proclaimed Aryan and white supremacist, Nicholas Arnold Schock, went on a rampage inside a restaurant and began screaming, "I'm a white supremacist, Aryan Nation will rule the world. People covered in tattoos are gonna be my closest relatives, I promise you."
Someone at the restaurant asked him to pipe down because kids were present, to which he responded ... "I don't give a f***, call Donald Trump, please."
And then, he hurled some disgusting obscenities, and as he tried to make his way inside a female staffer blocked him, and then, with all his might, unloaded a punch to her face.
The crowd clearly had enough, tackling the guy and taking him to the ground.
Schock was arrested and charged with battery and disturbing the peace. He's still in custody.
A group of angry Trump supporters went on a tirade against a handful of black lives matter protesters, with the leader of the group declaring, "You're racist against my white heritage."
It's an ugly scene that played out in Keystone Heights, Florida, where 4 BLM protesters were across the street from the Trumpers. The group waving "Trump 2020" flags, along with some confederate flags, were taunting the protesters.
They claim the BLM protesters are racist, and then there's this. When the group learns one of the BLM protesters is holding a sign that says, "Start Healing," the leader of the group says in response, "We ain't hurt you yet, motherf***ers. We can get you something to heal up motherf***er real quick."
And, there's more -- a lot more. There's a man holding an American flag in one hand and a sign in the other which says, "Burn Loot Murder = BLM."
It's that time of year again across the pond, where Europeans pack their bags and head to the tropical parts of their countries -- and judging by these photos, there's trouble ahead.
It's a tradition ... August is the month there's an exodus in most European cities with residents flocking to beaches across the continent and beyond.
So, check out the pic (above), taken on the very first day of August, at Mondello Beach, just north of Palermo down in Southern Italy ... it's absolutely packed with vacay-goers, most of whom are without a mask and not socially distanced. It looks like any other summer pre-2020.
Need more evidence ... we'll take you to England, where beachgoers were packed in like sardines.
Still want more ... check out the packed beach in Turkey.
So, Europeans have been doing better than us folks in the U.S. in the COVID department -- to the point they won't let us in -- but that could change in a big way during the 8th month.
We've seen it before ... big crowds, no social distancing and no masks = outbreak.
A couple in a SoCal beach town decided it was a good idea to trade in the chill vibe for some hot coffee that the woman hurled in a man's face, and all hell broke loose.
It went down in Manhattan Beach, when 2 guys were sitting outside a coffee joint ... about to eat their meal. A couple walked by and made a point to call out the 2 guys for not wearing masks.
It started out friendly ... the 2 guys ignorantly said they don't believe in wearing masks, and it went from cordial to a fast boil in less than a minute.
The woman then hurls a cup of hot coffee at one of the unmasked guys, and so begins the brawl. The guy beelines it for the couple and punches the guy, causing him to bleed from his nose.
You gotta see and hear what comes next. The guy calls the cops, saying he was assaulted, but never mentions his cohort threw hot coffee at the guy, which by the way, is a crime.
They jawbone back and forth, and at the end of the video, you hear the roar of police sirens as cops arrive. That's where the video ends.
Manhattan Beach requires everyone to wear masks at restaurants when they're not eating, so these guys violated the rules, and also basic decency for others. But, the woman who threw the coffee ... well, that's straight-up a criminal assault and battery.
We contacted the Manhattan PD on what they did ... so far, no response.
Two white supremacists were arrested Friday for attacking a vehicle with a shovel, after the woman screamed at the people inside the car, "only white lives matter," and her husband got all Hitlery with the Nazi salute, declaring, "white power."
The incident went down in Torrance, CA, when Gregory and Rachel Howell got involved in a road rage incident ... this according to the Torrance Police Dept.
The woman inside the vehicle recorded the confrontation. The hateful comments and gestures apparently weren't enough for the married couple, because the guy went back to his truck, grabbed a shovel from his pickup truck and used it to go wild on the car, striking it several times before the driver beat a hasty retreat.
The incident went down a week ago, and the couple was arrested Friday for vandalism and hate crimes.
More than 100 members of Congress are calling the Capitol their home ... as in, they're living and sleeping in their offices, and at least one member says they are risking the lives of other Members and staff in the middle of the pandemic, and is demanding they sleep elsewhere.
Rep. Jackie Speier is outraged at her colleague, Rep. Louie Gohmert, who rarely wore a mask on the floor of the House and tested positive this week. She says after learning he was positive, he went to the House gym. We have confirmed the gym is open but could not reach Gohmert for comment.
She also says Gohmert has been living in his office and it's simply horrific -- and not safe.
But, Speier's concerns go way beyond Gohmert. She fired off a letter to the Capitol physician and the Architect of the Capitol back in May, saying up to 100 members -- she now says it's more -- sleep in their offices to save money, and she says it's "unprofessional, unhygienic, and even unethical."
In the letter, obtained by TMZ, Speier says, "It raises questions over impropriety and safety if staff members come to work early and stumble upon the member in pajamas or getting dressed."
But, her biggest concern is the virus, saying, "It's highly possible that other communicable diseases have been transmitted more rapidly due to Members living in their offices. House offices were never intended to become homeless shelters for Members and it is high time we stop tolerating the practice."
The practice has not abated. As for Congressman Gohmert, we were unable to find out where he's quarantining.
Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse are giving away money ... or so it seems after nearly 200 people in Rhode Island mistakenly received tax refund checks signed by the Disney duo.
The hilarious technical error was discovered when some people received checks with a Mickey signature under the general treasurer line, and Walt's name signed under state controller.
Hold on to your mouse ears hat -- Rhode Island officials say this was a technical glitch. The Disney signatures are used by the Rhode Island Division of Taxation on test files. They were never meant to be stamped on the 176 live checks mailed out ... mostly to business owners.
For the record, officials mailed out new checks with the correct signatures. And, in case you're wondering -- Seth Magaziner and Peter Keenan are the state's real treasurer and controller, respectively. Chill out, guys ... you haven't been replaced.
And, here's a fun fact raised by The AP in its report on the tax flub: "Mickey Mouse is the cartoon character that was animator and producer Walt Disney’s first big hit."
