Meek Mill says his history with opioid addiction, while he was on probation, is the perfect example of why Pennsylvania needs criminal justice reform.

Meek stood shoulder to shoulder Thursday in Philly with PA Governor Tom Wolf and other state leaders to address the need to revamp the justice system. He said when he was coping with addiction he was afraid to tell his probation officer, because he thought it would be grounds for the judge to throw him in jail.

He says his probation officer at the time helped get him into rehab. But, Meek's point was that people caught up in the system tend to be hesitant to get help with their drug problems. He went on to address other issues with the system -- namely, being able to get locked up for merely coming into contact with cops.

He says if he was with the 2 black men who were recently arrested at a Philadelphia Starbucks, he could've been sentenced to 2-4 years in prison simply for the police run-in.

Bill Cosby is the victim of a lynch mob and straight-up got a heavy dose of mob justice in his sexual assault case ... this according to his wife.

Camille Cosby lashed out and viciously defended her husband of 54 years after he was found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand back in 2004. Camille

... accusing the media of "frenzied, relentless demonization of him" and accepting Bill's accusers allegations without any proof.

The dog that died of suffocation on a United Airlines flight is about to be the centerpiece of a looming lawsuit and possible criminal charges ... according to the grieving family's attorney.

The lawyer for the Robledo family, Evan Oshan, tells TMZ United has yet to adequately answer questions about Kokito's death. The dog suffocated in an overhead bin after a flight attendant ordered the dog's owner to stash it up there. The dog barked persistently ... but no one came to its rescue.

Oshan says United's moves thus far have been nothing but face-saving -- and the airline has not provided the family with what they want ... the ID of the person responsible for killing their pet. Oshan has been demanding the flight attendant's name.

5/3 2:39 PM PT -- Doug's attorney, Marty Singer, tells us, "As a result of the pending criminal proceeding of Natalie Sutton's violent assault and battery of Doug Reinhardt, there will be no comment by Mr. Reinhardt at this time."

'The Hills' star Doug Reinhardt was sitting on a couch -- on the mend from a serious knee operation -- when his drunken wife grabbed his metal crutch and gave him a beating ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Natalie Sutton was arrested early Saturday morning in Paradise Valley, AZ and charged with felony assault and battery. Our sources say she and Doug had gone to dinner and returned to their hotel. He sat on the couch where he was recovering from an ACL operation when Natalie suddenly went ballistic, grabbed his metal crutch and began swinging, targeting his bum knee and head.

Doug was injured and bloodied. He called the cops, they arrested Natalie on the spot for the attack. She was released later Saturday and ordered not to go near him.

We've learned Doug filed for divorce on Monday. They married last October.

You may recall Doug had dated celebs in the past, including Paris Hilton and Amanda Bynes. He got engaged to Allie Lutz, but they never married.

Looks like it's time for another fresh start.

Kodak Black is wiping the slate clean by dumping his name and flipping his initials -- cause he's now Bill K. Kapri ... and it's all legal and stuff.

TMZ has learned the currently jailed rapper requested, and was granted, the name change by a Florida judge. Bill's attorney, Bradford Cohen tells us his client wanted a "fresh start" in the middle of everything going on with him now. Fun fact: His real name was Dieuson Octave.

We're told he'll still go by Kodak, professionally, when he gets out of jail ... possibly as early as October. As we've reported, he's doing time in a Florida jail for 2 probation violations.

More good news for Bill -- a child services investigation against him has been dropped ... according to Cohen. We're told the agency launched its probe after the January arrest where his child was in the house along with marijuana and ammunition.

Bill has been taking parenting classes while he's in jail, along with working on his GED. Congrats, BK.

10:56 AM PT -- Starbucks just announced it has also reached a financial settlement with the 2 men. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 2 black men whose arrest at a Philadelphia Starbucks sparked an uproar have settled with the City ... for a symbolic $1 each and a promise from city officials they'll set up a $200k program benefiting young entrepreneurs.

You'll recall Rashon Nelson and Donte Robinson were arrested last month after the manager at the coffee giant's Philly store said she called police because the men refused to buy anything or leave. The arrest sparked outrage ... from customers in the store and ensuing protests, to T.I. calling for a boycott.

The men had said they were waiting for a business meeting about a potential real estate deal. The Associated Press first reported the settlement. The Starbucks manager who called cops has since left the company.

Eric Reid has followed Colin Kaepernick's lead and has filed a collusion grievance against the NFL ... and sources tell us President Trump's name is involved.

The 26-year-old safety has not been signed since his contract with the 49ers ended at the end of the 2017 season and many believe it's because he participated in Kaep's kneeling demonstration during the national anthem.

Reid is a former Pro Bowl safety who racked up 67 tackles and 2 interceptions last season -- and many believe he should have easily gotten a roster spot in 2018 based on his talent.

Bleacher Report had Reid ranked as the 10th best safety in the league in 2017.

A source with knowledge of the situation tells us ... Reid's grievance invokes Trump's name -- essentially claiming POTUS has intimidated owners into not signing players who kneel.

In fact, one NFL source described it as the "Bezos Effect" -- meaning owners are afraid if they cross Trump, he'll publicly attack them like he did to Amazon because he doesn't like Jeff Bezos.

Trump has regularly trashed players who took a knee during the anthem -- in fact, he just went after them during a rally in Michigan last week.

The NFLPA has issued a statement saying, "Our union is aware that Eric Reid and his legal representatives filed a collusion claim, which will be heard through the arbitration process as spelled out in our collective bargaining agreement."

Nicki Minaj grabbed a pair of boobs and slapped 'em on a t-shirt -- but the problem is, that boob design belongs to someone else ... according to a lawsuit.

Nicki just got sued by Isiah Simon, an artist who says he's the creator of the inverted heart design -- which is really just a drawing of 2 big boobs in a bra or bikini. He's used his on "I Love Venice Beach" merchandise.

Isiah says he copyrighted the heart-shaped design in 2015 ... on Valentine's Day, of course. In his lawsuit, he says Nicki and Universal Music Group "brazenly" stole his design for her own gear.

Fans can purchase the "I Love Nicki" shirts on UMG's website, but Isiah wants that shut down immediately.

Johnny Depp used and abused a couple of his security guards, then screwed them over on payday ... according to a new suit.

The now former bodyguards, Eugene Arreola and Miguel Sanchez, claim they took personal jobs with the actor in early 2016 after years of protecting him with another security company. According to the docs ... once they became members of his in-house security team ... he started taking advantage of them and putting them in compromising situations -- much more than typical bodyguard work.

The men allege this included driving vehicles with illegal drugs and open alcohol containers inside, monitoring unstable people on his crew, babysitting his kids ... and protecting Depp from himself due to his wild behavior.

For example, they claim they had to alert Depp at a nightclub of "illegal substances visible on his face and person while preventing onlookers from noticing Depp's condition."

The former guards also say they were subjected to a dangerous work environment -- like another security guard accidentally shooting himself in the leg -- and labor violations. And to make it all worse -- they weren't paid overtime and didn't get breaks to eat.

Arreola and Sanchez are suing Depp for the unpaid OT, wages, meal and rest breaks ... and want damages on top of that.

Tommie Lee is going to have to answer for allegedly beating on an Atlanta mall employee earlier this year -- 'cause she's been smacked with charges in court ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources in Fulton County, Atlanta tell us Tommie has been charged with battery with substantial harm by the Solicitor General's Office.

We're told Tommie has a hearing on the matter next week where two separate issues will be addressed ... her alleged mall beatdown, and her 2016 DUI case. She'd be wise to show up ... not one, but TWO warrants for her arrest were already issued in this whole saga.

As we've reported ... Tommie turned herself in to cops last month, where she was booked and posed for a mug shot. She ended up walking out of jail a day later, and told us one simple thing regarding the mall case ... queue Shaggy's 2000 hit song.

Ashley Judd's chances of landing a role on "Lord of the Rings" got torpedoed after she turned down Harvey Weinstein's alleged sexual demands ... so she says in a new lawsuit.

The actress is suing the disgraced movie mogul for defamation and sexual harassment ... claiming he damaged her career by getting her blacklisted from movie roles -- including Peter Jackson's enormously successful franchise -- as retaliation for turning him down.

In docs, obtained by TMZ, Judd claims Weinstein falsely told Jackson that she was a nightmare who should be avoided at all costs. Jackson's previously said Weinstein told him to blacklist certain female actresses, including Judd.

Ashley was one of the first women to go public about Weinstein's sexual misconduct. She had said she went to see Weinstein for a business meeting and he got sexually aggressive before she fled his hotel room.

In the suit, Judd says in a desperate attempt to escape, she engaged in a mock bargain with him, suggesting she would consider letting him touch her only if she won an Academy Award in one of his films. Weinstein said, "When you get nominated." She responded, "No, when I win," and left the room.

Judd's suing for damages and says she'll donate the money to charity.

Bill Cosby ought to get some "eye-for-an-eye" justice when he goes to prison -- he should get raped ... so says one of his accusers.

Former Playboy model Victoria Valentino didn't mince words when we asked her what she thinks the disgraced comedian should get when he gets sentenced. Victoria straight-up says Cosby should get the same special treatment he gave her.

Translation: Cosby should get violated in prison. She goes on to call Cosby the most prolific serial rapist of the 20th century.

Stormy Daniels has filed a second lawsuit against Donald Trump ... this time claiming he defamed her by questioning her story about being threatened by a man in Las Vegas over her alleged sexual encounter.

Daniels says Trump lied when he tweeted, "A sketch years later about a nonexistent man. A total con job, playing the Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)!"

Daniels had worked with an artist who drew a sketch of the man she claims approached her in a Las Vegas parking lot and threatened that if she opened her mouth about Trump -- presumably the story that she had an affair with him -- her daughter might not have a mother.

According to the lawsuit, Stormy says not only did Trump defame her by saying she's lying, he's accusing her of committing a crime -- falsely accusing someone of committing a crime.

She also says she's been exposed to death threats since Trump tweeted his statement.

Mercedes-Benz is following the lead of fake news by its unspoken policy of "fake recalls" ... so customers claim in a new lawsuit.

The auto giant is being sued for allegedly issuing recall notices for the premature deployment of airbags, which by its own admission can cause grievous injury or death.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Mercedes has been issuing recall notices for the problem, but when customers have attempted to schedule a fix they were routinely told the parts were not available and the fixes would have to wait.

According to the class action lawsuit, it's all an attempt by Mercedes to shirk its responsibility with potentially grave consequences. The suit says it especially dices for people who lease Mercedes, because the company allegedly just stalls until the customer gives up and eventually returns the car.

The suit claims at least 18 people have died as a result of Mercedes airbags, and the auto company is aware of the "significant problems" associated with its airbags.

Attoney Ben Meiselas from Geragos & Geragos tells TMZ, "Consumers were let down, and their safety compromised, by fake recall notices. If Mercedes announces a recall because their products could kill people they have to be prepared to actually do the recall and not string consumers along until their leases are up."

9:30 AM PT -- Penn and his wife, Dominique, have issued a joint statement through their rep, Denise White, saying:

"There was a verbal disagreement, there was NO physical altercation. The two are in the middle of a divorce and it is a hard time for both parties."

Oakland Raiders star lineman Donald Penn is a suspect in a domestic violence incident ... after he allegedly slapped his wife's butt and then poured a drink on her head.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports ... cops were called to Penn's L.A. area home Sunday evening, but when they arrived ... Penn had already left the scene.

Cops were told Penn was at the house earlier and got handsy with his wife, at one point slapping her butt. Donald's wife took exception to the slap and a vocal argument ensued.

Things escalated and Penn allegedly poured a drink on his wife's head and grabbed his wife by the wrist.

Cops took a report and are currently investigating.

Penn and his wife have had issues in the past when the NFL player knocked up "Bad Girls Club" star Camilla Poindexter ... who then aired out all of their dirty laundry on social media.

Bill Cosby fell on his sword the moment he opened his mouth and long before his sexual assault trial started ... so says one of the jurors.

Harrison Snyder appeared on 'GMA' Monday and said the unimpeachable evidence that led to the comedian being found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of drugging and molesting Andrea Constand in 2004 -- Cosby fessing up.

Snyder admitted he knew ZILCH about the mounting allegations against the comedian heading into the trial and didn't think it was "an open-and-shut" case. But, what sealed the disgraced comedian's fate was his own deposition.
