Banking Heir Matthew Mellon Estate Wants to Dump Crypto Riches Before a Crash

Published | Updated

The Estate of Matthew Mellon, the heir to the banking dynasty who died last month on his way to rehab, wants to sell one of his big assets before it crashes and burns -- cryptocurrency.

The Estate -- estimated worth $100 million -- consists almost entirely of cryptocurrency. According to legal docs, the Estate is deeply concerned about the volatility of the digital money, noting since Matthew's death it's fluctuated by up to 30% of its value.

The Estate wants to unload the currency STAT ... faster than the normal course of action in probate court.

It's clear from the legal docs, obtained by TMZ, the Estate has little faith in the long-term viability of cryptocurrency, making it clear they believe the trajectory of the digital money is a downward spiral.

The 54-year-old heir had a history of drug abuse. In 2016 he was reportedly spending $100k a month and taking 80 OxyContin pills a day.

He has a vast art collection, including a Warhol ... and it looks like there may be a dogfight over who gets it.

Xzibit Sued Your Pesticide-Laced Weed Made Me Sick!!!

5/11 12:22 PM PT -- A rep for Brass Knuckles tells us, "We have investigated the allegations asserted in the claim and determined they are frivolous. They do not represent the experience of our loyal customers who love our strains."

The statement continues, "Brass Knuckles adheres to California's new safety standards which are among the strictest in the country. Our most recent tests confirm the purity of our product."

Xzibit sells toxic s*** ... so claims a man who says he got real sick off the rapper's strain of THC oil.

Ignacio Lee claims in a new lawsuit he bought Brass Knuckles branded THC Concentrate Vape Cartridges in Candy Apple and Sour Diesel. Xzibit promoted the brand on his Instagram, and that's what attracted Lee to the product.

Xzibit said on his social media, "Our oil is clean." In another post he says the product is "COMPLETELY pesticide AND contaminate FREE."

Lee says he began using the brand in July 2016, and in 2017 he began experiencing fatigue, headaches, nausea, chest pains, shortness of breath, wheezing and difficulty breathing. He says he stopped using the pot in August and the symptoms went away.

According to the legal docs, obtained by TMZ, he had someone conduct an independent lab test on the product, which he says revealed detectable levels of pesticides.

Lee's suit is a class action on behalf of all the folks who smoked the strain in question.

He wants money and an order prohibiting Xzibit and others from marketing the product as contaminant free.

Cinco de Mayo Back Alley Brawl Chicks vs. Dudes!!!

Published | Updated

Cinco de Mayo turned into Cinco de K-O after cinco chicks and dudes -- most likely way more than cinco cervezas into the day -- got into an epic brawl.

The melee went down Saturday in a WeHo alley. The video starts with the guy in the salmon and blue shirt trying to fend off a chick charging at him. He shoved her to the ground, and it was on!

The women got in their blows, too. You have to keep watching because just when you think the final weave has been yanked, more punches get thrown.

It's unclear what started the melee and, honestly ... we don't care. Cops told us no complaints were filed, and no arrests were made despite someone screaming cops were on the way.

Hard to tell who had it worse -- the male or female combatants. Our vote is the poor homeless guy who got a rude awakening.

Morgan Freeman Granddaughter's Killer Guilty Of Manslaughter, Not Murder

The man who stabbed Morgan Freeman's step-granddaughter 25 times dodged a murder conviction ... but still got nailed for manslaughter.

The judge handed down the decision Monday in NYC. Lamar Davenport killed E'Dena Hines back in August 2015 outside of the couple's NYC apartment. Davenport was acquitted of second degree murder. His lawyer argued Davenport was high on PCP when he repeatedly stabbed Hines while screaming, "I love you. I always loved you. God would have wanted this." The judge agreed Davenport wasn't acting with malice, he was just messed up on drugs.

Davenport now faces up to 25 years in prison.

As we reported ... Davenport screamed several religious statements during the stabbing.

After her death, Morgan said, "her star will continue to shine bright in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace."

Hines was 33.

TALKING THINGS OUT

R. Kelly was schooling the 20-year-old woman who filed a criminal complaint against him for allegedly getting her high on drugs and booze and then giving her an STD, saying she needs to accept the fact that she was somehow in the wrong.

The woman, who says she plans to sue Kelly under the name Jane Doe, secretly recorded a conversation with Kelly recently in which she was trying to get him to confess to his alleged transgressions with her when she was 19.

The woman does not get specific about the allegations, but Kelly almost immediately puts her on the defensive, asking if she has finally come to her senses -- whatever that means.

Kelly is cautious during the conversation, saying she could fly to Chicago and have a face-to-face with him and hash out her issues. He suggests her parents put her up to filing the suit, saying they clearly resent him for trying to teach her life lessons.

The woman's lawyer, S. Lee Merritt, tells TMZ, "We remain committed to stopping Kelly from continuing to abuse vulnerable black women and taking the necessary steps to hold him accountable for his actions in the past."

G-Eazy Arrest Pics of His $100 Coke Bill ... Bouncer's Alleged Injuries

Published | Updated

8:25 AM -- G-Eazy's been released from custody and he's free to leave the country. We're told he did not have to post bail ... it's not required in Sweden.

He'll have to pay about $9,000 in fines, as well as restitution to the victim.

The bouncer G-Eazy got busted for punching has been revealed, along with the rapper's favorite Benjamin -- as in the $100 bill he used to snort cocaine ... allegedly.

Cops in Sweden released pics showing the nightclub bouncer. They've focused on his shaved head, but it's hard to see any major injuries. TMZ broke the story ... G-Eazy was arrested after getting into a brawl in the club.

Our sources say he and his security were going after a fan who was taking pics in the VIP area, and Eazy ended up socking the bouncer by accident.

Cops say they found cocaine as well as the rolled up Benjy on G-Eazy when they hauled him off to jail. That part of the arrest ain't exactly shocking, considering how much he publicly brags about his coke use.

G-Eazy Pic-Seeking Fan Triggered Club Brawl ... Which Led to Arrest

Published | Updated

G-Eazy got busted because he threw a punch at the wrong guy after getting totally pissed off at a pesky fan who wanted a pic.

Sources at Stockholm's Solidaritet nightclub tell us ... G-Eazy and his crew were partying in the VIP room after his show when a fan approached and asked for a photo. We're told the rapper said no, but the guy persisted before finally giving up and beating it.

Our sources say about 5 minutes later, the fan returned and started taking photos anyway, so G-Eazy's crew confronted him ... and a member of G-Eazy's crew grabbed the guy's phone and smashed it.

We're told the fan flipped out, shoved the crew member and it snowballed into a full melee.

During the brawl, G-Eazy allegedly punched one of the club's hired muscle, and that was enough for cops to swoop in, cuff G-Eazy and haul him off to jail.

G-Eazy famously talks about his heavy cocaine use, so cops probably knew when they checked his pockets they would score some of the white stuff. So he was arrested for that, too.

We broke the story ... G-Eazy was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of assault, possession of narcotics and use of narcotics. He's still in lockup until he sees a judge Friday.

KEEP THE FAMILY SAFE

Kanye West shouldn't just laugh off gang threats in L.A. ... so says Matt Barnes who says the real gangsters in Los Angeles don't mess around.

The ex-NBA star was leaving Catch when we talked about Kanye's appearance on "TMZ Live" -- including Yeezy's reaction to Daz Dillinger's recent call for the Crips to "f*** up Kanye."

"You gotta be careful," Barnes said ... "They don't play out here with gangs so you're treading on thin ice."

Barnes also reacted to Kanye's confession about getting liposuction -- and says it shows Kanye is "not in a comfortable, secure place as a man."

Barnes says a lot of what Kanye is talking about these days -- from Trump to his views on slavery -- are "bullsh*t" -- but he believes the old Kanye can still be saved.

"I know that man is in him still."

Kanye West I Got Hooked on Opioids After Liposuction

Kanye West Opioids
HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED

Kanye West had liposuction and started popping painkillers ... all leading up to the 2016 breakdown that landed him in a hospital for more than a week.

Kanye revealed his battle with opioids during his appearance Tuesday on "TMZ Live" ... as he talked about going to visit then President-elect Trump in December of 2016. He says, "I was drugged the f**k out, bro!"

He went on to explain he was addicted to opioids that doctors had prescribed after he had lipo. Kanye says he started taking more pills during the Pablo tour. You'll recall, the tour was cut short in November 2016 due to his hospitalization.

Kanye's got major beef with the amount of meds he was prescribed, and thinks America in general is drugged out.

As for why he had lipo? It couldn't have been an easy decision -- considering the tragic circumstances of his mother's death -- but Kanye says he didn't want to look "fat." He says that concern traces back to the way he feels the media treated his brother-in-law, Rob Kardashian.

You can see the full Kanye interview on Tuesday's "TMZ Live."
