Published | Updated

Former NFL running back Kapri Bibbs -- a member of the Denver Broncos' Super Bowl-winning team in 2015 -- was arrested in Los Angeles earlier this week ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... officers put Bibbs into cuffs on Sunday night at the Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica for public intoxication.

Bibbs later spent time with the Washington Football Team and the Green Bay Packers. In his 28 career games in the NFL, Bibbs logged 311 rushing yards and three rushing TDs.

Bibbs -- who has transitioned into the music industry in his life after football -- has yet to publicly comment on the arrest.

Fetty Wap Sentenced to 6 Years In Prison For Drug Trafficking

Published | Updated

Fetty Wap is going away for 6 years -- the judge just sentenced him in his federal drug trafficking case.

The rapper learned his fate Wednesday after previously pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute at least 500 grams of cocaine, for which he was arrested in October 2021.

The judge also sentenced Fetty to 5 years of post-release supervision ... according to a rep for the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

Fetty ended up getting one year more than he was hoping to get. As we first reported, he'd petitioned the court for a 5-year sentence, which is the mandatory minimum.

U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Breon Peace asked the judge to give him somewhere between 7 and 9 years, claiming Fetty participated in a huge drug trafficking organization that flooded Long Island with cocaine.

Ultimately, the judge landed right in the middle.

TMZ broke the story ... Fetty was arrested on his way to Rolling Loud New York in 2021, with the feds accusing him and several others of using USPS trucks to smuggle cocaine. The feds say their investigation turned up 16 kilos of coke.

We reached out to Fetty Wap's legal team ... so far no word back.

Jay-Z & Beyoncé $200M Malibu Pad Purchased in Cash, Baby!!!

Published | Updated

$200 million is an astonishing amount to just about everybody in the world, but if you're Jay-Z and Beyoncé, you can afford to drop it all at once ... and still be one of the richest couples on the planet.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... the two paid $200 million CASH for the 30,000-square-foot Malibu mansion purchased from William Bell, one of the biggest art collectors in the world.

The figure is mind-boggling ... but if you look at the couple's financial portfolio, they've certainly got the assets to make it work.

According to Forbes, Jay is worth $2.5 billion ... thanks to his lucrative liquor businesses, Ace of Spades and D'Usse, his music catalog, and his fine art collection -- with pieces from Basquiat.

In 2022, Forbes estimated Beyoncé's net worth to be just shy of $500 million ... crediting her tours, music catalog, and appearances in feature films to the majority of her wealth.

Of course, she also just kicked off her "Renaissance" tour, which is expected to rake in more than $1 billion ... so their net worth will only go up from here.

TMZ broke the story, the Malibu purchase was the most expensive ever recorded in the state of California.

A DREAM COME TRUE

Mercedes Moné may have given us a preview of things to come when she fights this weekend ... 'cause the former WWE Superstar beat the s*** out of "Mojo" Muhtadi, making the TMZ Sports cohost tap out with her signature "Statement Maker" finisher.

Moné will fight Stephanie Vaquer, a Chilean professional wrestler, at Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, CA, on Sunday, during New Japan Pro Wrestling's "Resurgence" ... in the first round of the Strong Women's Championship Tournament.

But, first, she sent a message to her challenger ... at the expense of Mojo!

Muhtadi went to give Mercedes, his good friend, a high five, but she turned it into the "Statement Maker" (aka the "Bank Statement" in the WWE), a maneuver she's used on countless opponents throughout her wrestling career, culminating in multiple championships.

Mercedes also broke down this weekend's tourney ... explaining a win over Stephanie would catapult her to the championship match against her translator from Japan, Momo Kohgo, or AEW wrestler Willow Nightingale, to crown the first-ever NJPW Strong Women's champ.

Following her split from WWE, Mercedes returned to the ring in February ... and was an instant hit in NJPW, where she defeated Kairi to win the IWGP Championship in her debut.

MERCEDES WILL RETURN

Unfortunately, Moné dropped the title to Mayu Iwatani at the Stardom All Star Grand Queendom event in Tokyo in April.

In fact, Mojo visited Mercedes in Japan last month ... where she told him she couldn't wait to get home and smoke a blunt with her cousin, Snoop Dogg!

Henry Ruggs DUI Crash Police Video Man Pleaded With Cops ... 'He Plays For The Raiders, He Needs Help ASAP!!!'

Published

A man begged cops over and over again at the scene of the Henry Ruggs car crash in Las Vegas to get help for the ex-NFL star "ASAP" ... newly released police video shows.

In the footage, which was captured on Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept. officers' body cameras just after Ruggs had crashed his Corvette into Tina Tintor's Toyota on Nov. 2, 2021, you can see one of the people at the scene of the fiery wreck was desperate to get aid for Ruggs.

Repeatedly, the man can be heard on camera telling a cop to have medical personnel rush to Ruggs quickly ... as 23-year-old Tintor and her dog were dying in a blaze just feet away.

"I know somebody probably in there," the man said of Tintor's Rav4, "but this is Henry Ruggs right here. This is Henry Ruggs right here. He plays for the Raiders. He needs help ASAP."

An officer told the guy to calm down ... but he continued to plead for aid for the former wide receiver as cops surveyed the crash site.

"Hey, look, he plays for the Raiders," the man repeated. "He needs help ASAP, bro."

Eventually, a cop told the man and others at the scene medical responders were on their way to Ruggs, who was sitting on the street near a curb.

The video also shows just how horrifying the crash was -- in the clip, you can hear explosions coming from Tintor's vehicle as it burned in the middle of the roadway.

After the scene had been cleared, cops were seen on video discussing the crash ... with one officer saying he believed he could see skid marks and debris several yards away from where the two vehicles came to a stop following the collision.

As we reported, Ruggs was ultimately hit with five charges over his role in the crash ... after authorities alleged he had been traveling at 156 MPH while drunk just moments before he slammed into Tintor.

Ruggs, 24, reached an agreement with prosecutors to close out the case earlier this month ... pleading guilty to one felony count of a DUI resulting in death and one misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter. In exchange, the rest of the charges against Ruggs were dropped.

As part of the deal, Ruggs agreed to spend 3-10 years behind bars. He'll learn the exact length of the prison sentence at a hearing on Aug. 9.

FETTY WAP ASKS JUDGE For 5-Year SENTENCE ... In Drug Trafficking Case

Published | Updated

Fetty Wap is begging the judge in his federal drug trafficking case to only sentence him to the mandatory minimum ... but the feds want him to be locked up a lot longer.

According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Fetty is seeking a 5-year sentence after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute at least 500 grams of cocaine stemming from his October 2021 arrest.

The rapper's legal team told the judge Fetty "accepts full responsibility for his crimes, but his conduct here does not and should not define him" ... and they attached a bunch of positive letters from family and friends, who say Fetty was just trying to provide for them financially ... by selling drugs.

Uncle Sam sees it differently, though ... in the docs, the feds want Fetty to spend between 87 and 108 months behind bars, claiming he participated in a massive drug trafficking organization that flooded Long Island with cocaine.

The office of U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Breon Peace also says leniency isn't really warranted here, saying Fetty "has used, and continues to use, his fame, sizeable platform and influence to glamorize the drug trade."

TMZ broke the story ... Fetty Wap was on his way to Rolling Loud New York back in 2021 when the feds apprehended him and several others, accusing them of using USPS trucks to smuggle drugs. The feds say their investigation uncovered 16 kilograms of cocaine.

Fetty pled guilty in August and he's going to learn his fate soon ... because May 24 is his sentencing. It will be interesting to see what the judge decides.

Kim Zolciak I Want Kroy Drug Tested ... His Pot Smoking is Dangerous for Our Kids!!!

Kim Zolciak says she's witnessed her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, smoke pot -- and she's afraid for her kids' safety -- asking a judge to step in and force him to get a drug test.

According to legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Zolciak says she's got serious concerns for the safety and well-being of her 4 minor kids while in Kroy's care ... and she points to his marijuana smoking as the source of her fear.

Zolciak is asking the judge to force Kroy to submit to a five-panel hair follicle drug screen ... and that he not cut or remove any of his hair until the screen is complete.

TMZ broke the story ... both Kim and Kroy filed separate petitions for divorce last week. Both are asking for sole physical custody of their kids ... and Kroy's asking for sole legal custody as well.

We were also the first to report the estranged couple's financial problems, owing more than $1 million to the IRS. In his divorce docs, Kroy asks Kim to retain all financial documents -- including expense reports as well as income and tax records.

Kim states she and Kroy are still living under the same roof with their kids, the same home that went into foreclosure earlier this year ... but you gotta imagine tensions are running high between the two.

'Love Is Blind' Netflix Branching Out ... Files to Trademark 'Love Is Wine' Merch

Published | Updated

Netflix is lookin' to cash in on its hit dating show, "Love Is Blind" by making a move to lock up rights to sell new products branded with a clever twist.

According to docs obtained by TMZ, Netflix is requesting the rights to sell items using the words "Love Is Wine." Cheeky and we can totally see future 'LIB' watch parties buying into it.

The streaming company's trademark application says it wants to slap the phrase on things like cake molds, glassware, napkin holders, plates, tea infusers, flasks, and several types of drinking glasses.

It's also looking to use it on things like wines and spirits, cocktail mixes, and even prepared cocktails. Given the fun name, this stuff could sell like hotcakes.

Netflix appears to be going all in on the 'LIB' craze ... also looking to secure the rights to brand bakery goods, snacks, frozen treats, pizza kits, chips, and salads. There's even mention of salt -- yes, just simple salt.

Of course, there's no doubt as to why it's full steam ahead on an idea like this -- the record-breaking series recently wrapped its fourth season and has even produced versions of the show in places like Japan and Brazil, with a handful of other locations in the works.

As we reported, millions of fans were waiting to tune into the live reunion special last month, but it never happened. Everyone ended up having to stream a prerecorded version the next day after technical glitches left fans looking at error codes on their TVs.

Sounds like Netflix is just scratching the "Love Is Blind" surface -- and if ya don't like it, go wine about it!!!

Brittney Griner Returns To WNBA After Detainment In Russian ... Expresses Gratitude, Fans Go Wild

Published

Brittney Griner made her long-awaited return to the basketball court Friday night after her 10-month detainment in Russia last year, but it didn't have the ending her fans were hoping for.

The Phoenix Mercury center still scored 10 points and pulled down 3 rebounds as the Mercury fell to the LA Sparks by a score of 90 to 71 in the WNBA preseason game.

Griner only played for 17 minutes, but she made the most of it, and her teammates were psyched to see her back on the court, hugging and high-fiving while also giving each other chest bumps.

The crowd was ecstatic to see Brittney ... they erupted in applause when her name was first announced inside the Footprint Center in Phoenix.

After the game, Griner told reporters that she was "grateful" to have the opportunity to play again and would not take a single day for granted.

She also said she had a different experience hearing the national anthem before the game got underway.

“Hearing the national anthem, it definitely hit different," she said, adding, "It’s like when you go for the Olympics."

Griner was critical of her on-court performance, explaining, “Not where I want it to be, but on the right track. We’re making the right moves."

But, given what's Griner's been through, it must have felt in some way like a victory.

Griner was detained in Russia for nearly 300 days after getting caught with hash oil at Moscow Airport in February 2022. She was charged with smuggling drugs into the country, but was later released in a prisoner swap in December.

Henry Ruggs Will Spend 3-10 Years In Prison ... After Judge Accepts Plea Deal

Published | Updated
UPDATE

11:52 AM PT -- Tina Tintor's family released a statement following Wednesday's hearing ... saying, "Today, like every day, we remember Tina and Max, and how they were taken from us that fateful night. No sentence will ever bring Tina and Max back, but we hope that everyone learns from this preventable incident so that no other families suffer like we do."

UPDATE

"We appreciate the efforts of the district attorney’s office to overcome the issues caused by the initial investigation, and we look forward to putting this behind us so that we can focus on honoring the memories of Tina and Max."

Henry Ruggs will officially be sentenced to 3-to-10 years behind bars later this summer ... after a judge formally accepted his plea deal on Wednesday morning.

The former Las Vegas Raiders star appeared in court to enter guilty pleas to one felony count of a DUI resulting in death and one misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter after reaching an agreement with officials earlier this month.

As part of the deal, prosecutors agreed to drop the rest of the ex-football player's charges stemming from his November 2021 car crash.

The judge asked Ruggs -- who was wearing a navy suit with a blue tie -- several questions during the proceedings ... before she ultimately accepted the parameters of the agreement.

Ruggs will now learn whether it'll be closer to three or 10 years in prison at a sentencing hearing on August 9.

As we previously reported, Ruggs had been facing more than 50 years behind bars after prosecutors had initially hit him with five total charges following allegations he drunkenly slammed his Corvette into the back of Tina Tintor's Rav4 ... killing her and her dog.

They alleged at the time that Ruggs had traveled 156 MPH just before the crash with a BAC of .161.

THE AFTERMATH

Ruggs' attorneys, David Z. Chesnoff and Richard A. Schonfeld said last week when the 24-year-old first agreed to the plea deal that it all was "a fair resolution to this matter."

Clark County district attorney Steven B. Wolfson said of the ruling Wednesday, "This outcome accomplished our three most important goals: (1) convict Henry Ruggs of the strictest charge allowed by Nevada law for drunk driving; (2) send Henry Ruggs to prison; and (3) eliminate his ability to appeal his conviction and prison sentence."

Wolfson added, "Tina's family members are the most important people in this process, and I met with them several times before reaching this resolution."

Selena Gomez Organ Donor Francia Called Her Out For Drinking ... After Kidney Transplant

Published | Updated

Francia Raisa stopped talking to Selena Gomez because SG wouldn't stop drinking after she had given her a kidney ... at least, according to her ex-friend's dad, El Cucuy.

El Cucuy -- the famous Spanish radio host and father of Francia -- went on a Spanish news show called "Primer Impacto" about 5 months ago and wound up giving more context about what went down between the 2 ex-best friends.

FALL FROM FAME

During the interview he was asked why his daughter wasn't included in Selena's highly-anticipated doc, "Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me." He told the outlet, it was no secret what happened between them, and added ... that's just what happens with love, money, and fame.

He then explains Selena and Francia had a disagreement when SG was drinking. Apparently, FR told her she didn't give her a kidney, so she could go out and drink ... causing stress on the organ.

BTW, they used to be thick as thieves, having met when they were child actors. So much so, Francia donated her kidney to Selena in 2017 after hers failed due to her battle with lupus. However, things soon went left.

Francia recently fielded a bunch of questions, from a pap, about Selena ... but she dodged almost every single question ... which came off a little shady to some Selena fans.

As a result, FR later said she'd been dragged through the mud online and wanted it all to stop.

Now, we have a better idea of what went down, at least on Raisa's side. We've reached out to Selena's reps ... no word back yet.

The "Vanderpump Rules" star celebrated the sobriety milestone Thursday during his band's concert at The Space at Westbury on Long Island, NY ... telling the crowd he's taking a break from liquor.

Tom was drinking a Heineken 0.0 onstage, and it sounds like his fans support his sobriety ... his announcement was met with cheers and applause.

Staying away from alcohol is a big move for Tom ... he certainly has plenty of reasons to drink these days, considering all the fallout he's dealing with as a result of the "Scandoval" ... not to mention the temptations that come with going on tour.

Tom's band, the aptly named Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras, also performed a remix of Fountains of Wayne's hit "Stacy's Mom" ... and he found a way to name-drop Raquel Leviss in the song.

Congrats, Tom, and good luck on your journey.

NFL Prospect Michael Jefferson Suspected Of Being Under Influence In Crash ... Cops Say

Published | Updated

Cops in Alabama say their initial report of Michael Jefferson's car crash was wrong ... telling TMZ Sports on Wednesday they now believe the 2023 NFL Draft prospect was the one who was impaired on the night of the tragic wreck last month.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says it somehow mixed up the drivers of the two vehicles in its first report of the fatal car accident on April 9 in Mobile County, AL.

Initially, the ALEA claimed Jefferson was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Impala ... before Charles Dunn slammed head-on into it in his 2014 Dodge Charger.

Now, however, the ALEA says Jefferson was actually driving the Charger -- while Dunn was in the Impala.

That means, according to the crash report, cops suspect Jefferson was the one who was under the influence of both alcohol and drugs at the time of the accident -- not Dunn.

It also means, per a diagram of the crash in the report, that Jefferson (labeled Unit 1) is the one who was traveling in a southbound lane before moving into Dunn's northbound lane, headed in the wrong direction, before colliding with the 55-year-old (labeled Unit 2) head-on.

As we reported, Dunn died as a result of the crash. Jefferson -- a former star wideout at Louisiana who was in line to get drafted last month before the wreck -- sustained significant injuries that required several surgeries.

Police told us an investigation into the crash remains ongoing. According to the report, the 23-year-old's blood was taken following the crash, but the results have not yet come back.

Meanwhile, Jefferson's attorney, Brad Sohn, told us on Wednesday he had "absolutely no reason to believe that Michael Jefferson is under criminal investigation or has ever been under investigation."

Dunn's family told us in a statement they now want a public apology from Jefferson and his representatives ... adding, "Charles Dunn never drank or smoked in his life and we would like for his name to be cleared."

Jefferson was considered to be one of the 30 best available receivers in the 2023 NFL Draft prior to the accident ... though he ultimately went unpicked. Sohn previously said the wide receiver was optimistic he'd play football again despite the severity of the injuries he suffered.
