Barely legal "Heroes" hottie Hayden Panettiere was in Beverly Hills yesterday, tempting every photog in town with a shot of her buying some undergarments. First it was the milk, now it's the panties. Why must she torment us so?


The charming cheerleader searched for her special threads as photogs snapped away -- making sure they had evidence of the first and last time most people will ever see those undies.

That's right boys. According to US Weekly, the barely legal "Heroes" star has ended her relationship with ex-reality star, Stephen Colletti. Panettiere tells US, "We are still very close friends and talk to each other frequently. We appreciate and support each other's careers." There's some breaking news! Stephen Colletti has a career!

Just one question remains for the pair: "Do I return this mix tape?"

The soon-to-be-legal blonde told our cameras today that Mario Lopez -- whom we spotted with Hayden's mom last week -- was a bit out of her age range. "He's a good friend, a very nice guy," she said, adding, "I think he's a little old for me." Since when is 34 too old?

Hayden was arriving for an appearance on "The Late Show with David Letterman." If Mario is too old for Hayden, then Dave, 60, is way, way too old for her.
