Kevin Smith's new movie about Jay and Silent Bob is still in the works -- despite a delay -- according to Jay himself ... who's giving us a major update on the status of their reboot.

We got Jason Mewes Tuesday night at Caroline's Comedy Club in NYC where he told us Smith's forthcoming sequel to the 'J & SB' franchise -- "Jay and Silent Bob Get a Reboot" -- will head into preproduction early next year ... and that filming will begin soon after that.

Kevin teased a sequel early last year, and reports said that production was supposed to start this past summer. It doesn't appear that actually happened, but Jason's got a bit of an explanation there too.

Demi Lovato has what appears to be a constant companion, and he has a few things in common with her that are now the centerpiece of her life -- addiction and sobriety.

We just got these photos of Demi and clothing guru Henry Levy grabbing coffee Sunday night in West Hollywood ... and, as you can see, they're getting really close. Demi's got her arm around Henry's waist, and he's got his draped over her shoulder.

We've learned Demi and Henry went to an AA meeting Sunday night -- he's been in and out of rehab since he was a teen. We're told Demi and Henry actually met a few years back when both were in rehab.

Demi and Henry's Sunday outing comes on the heels of their fancy sushi dinner Saturday night at Matsuhisa in Bev Hills ... when we first saw them together having a great time over dinner.

Demi definitely enjoys Henry's company ... because they were back at it again the next day, smiling, laughing and looking cheerful as they waited on iced coffees.

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino had a heart-to-heart before his wedding ... but the sit-down wasn't with his soon-to-be wife. It was with Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.

The 'Jersey Shore' stars had a powwow Wednesday night at the Westin Governor Morris Hotel in Morristown, NJ ... one day before Sitch weds Lauren Pesce. You hear Mike talk about Ronnie being his best man at his wedding and hopes one day Ronnie reverses the honor.

Mike and his fiancee rolled up to the hotel in an SUV and they beelined it for their room. Ronnie was already there when the couple checked in ... and a few hours later, Sitch and Ronnie had their chitchat in the lobby.

Mike just posted this ... "Today I marry my best friend, My College Sweetheart, My everything. Together as a team we can accomplish anything ... I promise to be my best self everyday & make you proud to call yourself Mrs. Sorrentino."

Mike and Lauren are getting married just months before he heads off to serve an 8-month prison sentence for tax evasion.

Ron Jeremy says he's pretty sure his good friend, Dennis Hof, died a happy death ... but discovering his body was definitely tough.

We got Ron Monday night on the Sunset Strip in front of the Rainbow Room and asked about finding the famed Bunny Ranch owner dead in his bed. Ron tells us he's spent many a day waking Dennis up all over the world, but something was definitely amiss last week.

Mac Miller's life will be celebrated with a gigantic show in Los Angeles featuring some of music's biggest acts who also happened to be the rapper's biggest friends.

An announcement for "Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life" just dropped ... and names on the ticket include Travis Scott, SZA, Chance The Rapper, John Mayer, Schoolboy Q, Ty Dolla $ign, Miguel and many, many more.

Proceeds from the show will benefit The Mac Miller Circles Fund and will go down Halloween night at The Greek Theatre.

Mac's mom, Karen, made the announcement for the show, saying, "Thank you to all the artists, friends and partners for helping to bring this all to fruition .. in honor of wonderful Malcolm .. who is in all of our hearts."

Mac died at his home in Los Angeles September 7 of an apparent drug overdose.

Colin Kaepernick says he's THRILLED his pal, Eric Reid, is back in the NFL -- but claims the safety shoulda been signed WAY earlier.

"Congratulations to my brother [Eric Reid], an all pro safety who should have been signed the first day of free agency, who has signed a football contract," Kaep posted.

"He has was the FIRST person to kneel alongside me. Eric is a social justice warrior, continues to support his wife, two beautiful daughters and communities in need."

Kaep and Reid were teammates on the 49ers and have been good friends for a WHILE.

In fact, when the guys found themselves jobless after the kneeling demonstrations -- they hired the same lawyers to sue the NFL for collusion ... claiming they'd been blackballed.

As for Kaep's claim Reid shoulda been signed sooner, he's right -- Reid's just 26 years old, has a Pro Bowl on his resume AND had 67 tackles and 2 picks last season.

Reid's new teammate, Torrey Smith, also commented -- saying, "I’m excited. It shouldn’t have taken this long, a person with his talent."

Kylie Jenner brought the glamour and her BFF Jordyn Woods brought the glitz -- and together, the dynamic duo painted the town.

The ladies were all dolled up to get a head start on Jordyn's birthday celebration. She turns 21 Sunday but kicked things off Thursday with dinner at Petite in L.A. ... before heading off to Poppy.

Kylie turned 21 over a month ago and clearly couldn't contain herself at the thought of her BFF coming THIS close to legal drinking age. They capped off their dinner with a small chocolate cake and giant sparkling candle. Nope, no cereal ... with or without milk.

Bottle service was flowin' later that night -- at least for Kylie, who held up a giant poster with Jordyn's face on it.

They're obviously tight. Remember, Jordyn was front and center in Kylie's birth announcement and they're nearly inseparable -- except for that one time Jordyn flaunted the goods down in Mexico.

Kanye West and Tekashi69 teamed up in South America to riff off each other, record some music and discuss future projects.

We're told Ye flew down to Colombia Tuesday to spend time with 6ix9ine ... the plan being for the 41-year-old and the 22-year-old rappers to come up with ways to bridge the gap between hip-hop generations.

Our sources say they spent hours in the studio recording together, but they also dished out some advice to one another. We're told Kanye gave Tekashi industry and business tips ... and he gave Yeezy insights on how the Internet is changing the rap game.

Our sources say the energy between the 2 was off the charts ... they both learned a lot from each other. No word yet if they plan to release any new tracks from their powwow, but if they do ... it'll be hard to top Kanye's new single with another hot young rapper -- Lil Pump.

Just because he's a Nike star now doesn't mean Colin Kaepernick is giving up on his NFL comeback ... he's still working out like a maniac in the hopes of landing a QB job.

That's according to one of Colin's close friends, Brandon Marshall -- who tells TMZ Sports he just spoke with CK and his sites are definitely still set on the NFL.

"I talked to him today and yesterday," the Denver Broncos linebacker told us Wednesday night ... "He's in high spirits. He's excited."

We also know Kaep's been working with a personal trainer for months. Remember, he was out throwing passes back in March and we're told that's still part of his training regimen.

Marshall and Kaepernick were teammates and fraternity brothers at the University of Nevada Reno -- and Marshall participated in Kaep's kneeling demonstration.

"It's like really historic what he's doing," Marshall said about his friend ... referencing Kaep's collusion lawsuit against the NFL and the impact he's having on social justice issues.

Marshall says he's spoken with other NFL players about Kaep -- and they're overwhelmingly supportive of the QB in his fight against inequality AND in his lawsuit.

Marshall also gave a special message for his friend -- "Keep fighting for what you believe in man. Keep going. You're doing everything you believe is right."

Ex-MLB star Luis Gonzalez says the moment he was asked to be a pallbearer for John McCain was one of the highest honors of his life ... but admits it was weird, since McCain was still alive at the time.

Gonzalez will be one of the 6 men selected to carry McCain's casket at his funeral on Thursday -- and tells TMZ Sports the late Arizona senator had been planning out the event for months.

"I've known for a while," Gonzales tells us ... "[McCain's team] had contacted me a while back, a few months back to ask if I'd be willing to be a pallbearer."

"First of all, it's an honor. And secondly, he was still living at the time so it was a strange request."

Gonzo and McCain have been friends since the days Luis played for the Arizona Diamondbacks -- they would text, talk on the phone and attend events together.

Luis says he was always impressed with McCain's knowledge and enthusiasm for sports -- noting he never wanted to sit in VIP suites in stadiums, he always loved hanging with the people in the bleachers.

"He was a great person who cared about other people."

Stevie Wonder choked back tears during an interview in which he revealed his last words to Aretha Franklin before she died.

Stevie joined "CBS This Morning" Friday and almost immediately got emotional when asked about his last real conversation with the Queen of Soul, which was about 2 months ago. Stevie -- who said Aretha couldn't talk when he visited her Tuesday -- said he told her to "say hello to my sister."

Stevie's sister died earlier this year. Reports say her decomposed body was found in her home.

Stevie revealed there were plans to do some music together ... including a duet with Aretha for a song he'd written. Aretha and Stevie were incredibly close. She covered Stevie's 'Until You Come Back to Me' and they performed it together at the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards in 2005.

Jada Pinkett Smith's new friend is a shredded 72-year-old bodybuilder who is fit to DESTROY Will Smith ... in a push-up contest!!

We talked to Dr. Josefina Monasterio whose determination for body wellness is giving Jada all the feels. We're not sure big Willy will feel the same way as his wife though, now that Josefina's calling him out and challenging him in the gym.

Check it out ... the good doctor has more than push-ups in mind for Will -- and says now that she has Jada's digits, it won't be easy for Will to dodge her challenge.

Kylie Jenner is no stranger to flowers or cash ... so clearly nothing makes more sense than to gift her a gigantic solo cup made of roses ... which comes with a hefty price tag.

Jenner showed off the creation from La Fleur Bouquets Thursday -- a 21st birthday gift she got from her friend, Yris. We're told the "Legal AF" solo cup was made with more than 1,000 real roses -- and comes in right around $5,000.

The arrangement was just one of several gifts Jenner got for her 21st, not to mention the gigantic party she threw at Delilah in West Hollywood ... with guest that included her fam, along with Bella Hadid, The Weeknd, Dave Chappelle and baby daddy Travis Scott.
