Jessica Simpson claims Tony Romo broke up with her back in 2009 because he thought she was cheating on him with John Mayer.

Simpson spells out the whole thing in her new book "Open Book" -- in which she finally breaks her silence on the demise of her 2-year relationship with the former Dallas Cowboys QB. Long story short, Simpson claims she ran into Mayer at her parents house and didn't tell Romo, but he eventually found out through an email from John to Jess.

"[Tony] accused me of seeing John behind his back. I hadn’t cheated on Tony at all, but I could not lie and say I hadn’t even seen him," Simpson said.

Jessica told Tony "nothing happened" ... but Romo didn't buy her story because ... well, John Mayer.

"Tony didn’t believe that for a second. And within that second, he broke up with me right there. Two years, gone with an email."

Simpson says she knew Romo wouldn't blab to the media about the real reason for the split because "it would imply that he wasn't enough for me."

Jessica says eventually "Tony soon realized I was telling the truth. Of course I didn’t cheat on him."

"But our breakup had been so ugly that it shocked me into realizing it had been necessary."

As for Mayer, Jessica claims the musician made a full-court press to put a ring on it.

"[John] had said all these things, practically asking my parents for my hand in marriage while I was in a serious relationship. Swearing to me up and down that he was a changed man."

"Now here I was, ready to pledge my love back, and to kiss him as the curtain came down. And it fell on my head ... All this time, all those years, he was breaking up with me to torture himself enough to get good material."

In other words, Jessica was convinced John just wanted to try to be with her so he could get content for his music.

"It felt inevitable to be in love with John, so I continued talking to him for months. But I knew now not to let him get close enough to shoot me down again."

Everyone ultimately moved on with their lives ... Jessica married ex-NFL tight end Eric Johnson. Romo married beauty queen Candice Crawford.

And Mayer moved on to, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston and Katy Perry. But he's currently single.

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro knows that the early bird gets the worm -- and in this case, it seems he snagged two.

The "Jersey Shore" star was spotted Sunday morning leaving E11EVEN Miami at the ass crack of dawn around 6 AM ET. Looks like he was raging the night away with some good company -- a couple of baddies were kinda flanking him as he made his way out of the club.

No PDA here, but all signs point to these two lovely ladies rolling with our man. He's leading the way, and they're all giddy following close behind ... casting their gaze on him.

It's a good sign for sure to see Ronnie moving on and away from his on-again, off-again girlfriend and baby mama, Jen Harley, who recently got into another alleged snag with her ex. Ronnie claims she attacked him with eyeliner ... just the latest episode between them.

He bounced back from that run-in with a nice surprise on the streets not too long after the Jen incident, getting flashed by a spunky chick with even spunkier ... fuhgeddaboudit.

Meanwhile, we've learned Jen's dipping her toe into the real estate biz. Just so long as it keeps her out of the Ronnie biz, more power to her. Be good, you two!

Halsey took a stand Saturday night during a pre-Super Bowl concert in Miami after a fan harassed her by repeatedly screaming out the name of her ex-BF.

Halsey was at BudX Miami performing her set when some dude in the crowd screamed G-Eazy's name over and over. Well, that set her off something fierce, as she did her own investigation of sorts to find the culprit.

The malcontent couldn't be spotted, so Halsey led the crowd in a rousing call to arms ... "F**k that guy!!!"  The fans were more than happy to oblige.

She issued a warning ... "If you say G-Eazy one more f**king time, I will kick you out this building. I will kick your f**king ass, test me. I will kick your ass out the f**king club. You’re not going to disrespect me like that at my own show."

Halsey later said, "don’t ever let someone make u feel crazy or unhinged cus ur a woman standing up for urself. Don’t tolerate disrespect in the name of being 'nice.' Love u."

Joe Giudice is moving on from Teresa Giudice with ease -- and by that, we mean he's got one, two, three, four .... lots and lots of options, basically.

The 'RHONJ' star was down in Mexico over the weekend at a place called Isla Mujeres. That translates to Island of Women ... and, lord, did it live up to the name. Take a look -- Joe, who seemed to be on a boys' trip, was absolutely surrounded by gorgeous babes.

They were pretty into him too from the looks of these photos and videos TMZ obtained. At one point, Joe was seen dancing with some of the girls at a hotel called Izla. Later, he was spotted cozying up with a couple other gals under a cabana on the beach. Heyooo!

Of course, Joe's single right now ... so no harm, no foul. He and Teresa officially split last month after growing and living apart for several years now. No one's filed for divorce or a legal separation, but it's clear they're both moving on and dating other people now.

In fact, we just saw Teresa with a new/not-so-new boo thang not too long ago in Jersey. Apparently, it's an old flame of hers ... who was also on the show as the family's pool boy man.

Wendy Williams is officially single and already mingling ... because she knows exactly what she wants, and the goods she's got to offer.

It's no surprise the talk show host is on the market -- she has been since she filed for divorce from her husband, Kevin Hunter, in April -- but we're told she's been enjoying the dating scene lately ... and has it down to a bit of a science.

We're told Wendy's always taking interviews for potential suitors and has criteria for them. For example, they don't have to be millionaires, but they better treat her in a manner she's accustomed ... so no cheap-ass dinners or gifts.

Second, she doesn't date dudes with kids still living at home ... our sources say she's not down with going to PTA meetings or youth baseball games.

It's Draya Michele's birthday!!! But instead of receiving gifts, she's giving her fans an amazing, thoughtful present.

Draya decided to celebrate her 35th year by posting an INCREDIBLY smoking hot snap on her IG ... rockin' a barely-there g-string while holding a lucky bundle of balloons.

Fact is, Rihanna's been around A$AP quite a bit over the past few months or so -- which seems to have gone somewhat under the radar. She went to Sweden last month to check out his comeback show -- granted, she wasn't seen in his company. At least not here.

Josie Canseco has a new hunk in her life ... and it's Logan Paul.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … Josie and Logan recently started dating, with things turning romantic after years of running in the same friend circles in Los Angeles. Hollywood can be pretty small.

As with most fresh relationships, things are off to a great start ... we're told Josie and Logan are very happy. Good start.

Josie and Logan are already crossing milestones, they were spotted together for the first time Sunday at the famous Rose Bowl flea market. That's a huge step as far as dating in L.A. goes ... we know it sounds lame, but it's a thing.

As we first reported ... Josie and Brody Jenner broke up back in October ... so Jose Canseco's daughter didn't spend much time in the single lane before getting boo'd up again.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik apparently are fans of going back to what you know ... because they're back together again.

Gigi and Zayn hit up il Buco restaurant in New York City Saturday night. Gigi's sis, Bella, and Anwar's GF, Dua Lipa, tagged along.

They walked arm in arm as they celebrated Zayn's 27th birthday. Gigi presented Zayn with a big-ass bouquet as a token.

The two have a long history together. They first hooked up in 2015 but broke up in March 2018. It only took a month for them to get back together, but by January of last year, they were history again.

There were signs it still wasn't over last March when Zayn tweeted that he stilled loved Gigi.

Kaitlynn Carter and Brody Jenner are back together ... for a quick few seconds on her social media, which means they're definitely on friendly terms after their breakup.

The two 'Hills' stars shared the same space Friday on Kaitlynn's Instagram story, where Brody made a brief appearance as he playfully flipped her off and then pushed away her camera. She captioned the clip, "@brodyjenner single and chic!!" The vid has no sound.

It should be noted, Kaitlynn goes out of her way to call Brody "single" ... which backs up our earlier reporting that there was no real chance of a romantic rekindling between them.

It appears Kaitlynn ran into her ex during a little getaway in Malibu -- where she's been hiking and lounging ... and also grabbing dinner with his mom, Linda Thompson.

Kaitlynn posted a photo of her and her former sorta-mother-in-law breaking bread at Nobu, with another friend in tow. She captioned the pic, "feelin’ super lucky to be part of this modern fam." The rappers were spotted Sunday at an Australian airport, where they were getting outta Dodge after PBC performed for the Falls Festival in Fremantle. He was booked for the music fest, she wasn't ... but that doesn't mean IA wasn't front and center for her man.

She posted concert footage of his set, where she was also seen watching from the side of the stage pretty attentively. Sure looks clear ... everything's all good between them again.

The reunion comes about 2 weeks after Iggy posted a not-so-cryptic message on social media declaring, "I'm single." Shortly afterward, she appeared to backpedal and offered an apology of sorts, explaining she acted in haste and actually loved Carti (real name Jordan Carter).

Of course ... all that drama comes on the heels of rumors Iggy was pregnant with Carti's baby (6 months along, supposedly, and due in March) but she debunked that gossip quickly with a full-body bikini shot. Obviously ... she's nowhere near pregnant.

John Cena does not seem at all bothered by the fact his ex-girlfriend, Nikki Bella, is engaged ... he's way too involved in his new relationship.
