UNC Coach Roy Williams Helped Off Court After Collapsing ... Apparent Vertigo Attack

Published | Updated

6:00 PM PT -- Coach Williams did not return to the game in the second half, but school officials reportedly said he was feeling better after another bout with vertigo. UNC won the game, 81-79.

Scary moment in Saturday's College Basketball matchup between North Carolina and Clemson -- UNC's coach Roy Williams collapsed in front of his team's bench.

Williams went down to a knee with just a little under a minute left in the first half and had to be helped to the Carolina locker room. It's unclear what happened, but one of the announcers mentions he has a history of battling vertigo.

The UNC hoops' Twitter account also said he had a vertigo attack, and it's unclear if he'll return to the game.

The Clemson crowd cheered for Roy as he raised his hand as he was helped off the court ... but he appeared to be walking under his own power. Hopefully he's okay.

LET ME HELP

Cris Carter says he tried to help Randy Gregory conquer his substance abuse issues by trying to get him into a successful rehab program ... and even though it's failed so far, he's not giving up.

With the Dallas Cowboys star suspended indefinitely after once again violating the league's substance abuse policy, Carter talked about the effort he's made to help Gregory over the years.

"It's unfortunate for him," Carter said on FS1's "First Things First" ... "He's one of a number of guys through the years I've tried to help."

"[I've] tried to give him the power through rehab, through the system of [Alcoholics Anonymous], through going to meetings. The system has worked for me for almost 30 years."

Carter has had his own struggles with substance abuse -- he's openly talked about it -- and feels programs like AA have had a huge impact on his life.

As for Gregory, Carter says he's even gone to bat for the defensive end with NFL officials -- writing a letter to the front office in an effort to get him reinstated after a previous substance abuse violation.

"He's struggled like a lot of other talented players have struggled with the disease," Carter said.

"I wish people would look at [addiction] like cancer and if your cancer came back what would you do?"

"Randy Gregory, call me, man. Anybody out there, call me ... because I still got feelings for you."

26-year-old Gregory was a BEAST for the Cowboys in 2018 -- logging 6 sacks and 28 QB pressures.

He missed most of the 2016 season and ALL of the 2017 season because of substance abuse violations -- but the Cowboys clearly see potential ... as long as he can stay clean.

Karl-Anthony Towns Blessed to Be Alive ... After 'Life-Threatening' Car Accident

Published | Updated

Karl-Anthony Towns says he had a "5 percent chance of surviving" the scary car accident he was involved in last week ... and he's "blessed to be alive" and mostly uninjured.

The Minnesota Timberwolves star was heading to the Minneapolis airport for the team's trip to New York last Thursday ... when the car KAT was traveling in was hit by a semitruck traveling at 45 miles per hour.

Towns -- who missed the Wolves' past 2 games as a part of being in concussion protocol -- gave details on the accident at practice on Monday ... saying he knows it could have been MUCH worse.

"I'd say I had a 5 percent chance of making it out alive," KAT says, "I hit the 5 percent mark. I'd say 4 percent was to be seriously injured and 1 percent was to be minorly injured ... and I came out in the 1 percent."

No word on who was behind the wheel, but Towns -- who was also traveling with the team's assistant strength and conditioning coach -- was NOT driving.

"In all honesty, I probably should not have made it out like I did."

KAT didn't suffer any major injuries from the crash ... but he missed the first 2 games of his career ... ending his games played streak at 303.

"I'm just glad everyone's safe from the accident. Everyone's alive."

Todd Gurley My Knee Is 'Fantastic' Parties With Drunk Reality Stars

Published | Updated

Want a health update on Todd Gurley's knee? Also, want to see a very drunk "Very Cavallari" star try and hijack the spotlight?

Well, this is the clip for you!

The L.A. Rams star was leaving the 1818 Club Ballroom in Duluth, Georgia over the weekend -- where he helped celebrate Ric Flair's 70th birthday with TONS of celebs like Charles Barkley, Triple H, Jeff Hardy and more.

But, when we saw Todd leaving the shindig, we had to ask if there's any update with that knee injury he suffered during the 2018 season.

The good news, Todd says the knee is "fantastic."

The bad news, there were so many drunk people around Todd, that's really the only update we could get.

But, if you're interested in Reagan Agee from Kristin Cavallari's reality show, "Very Cavallari" -- we know she was there too.

And, how did we know? Well, she kept telling us ... over and over again.

Despite the drunken craziness at the end of the night, Todd seemed to be doing well -- and was even jumping around on his knee at the end of the clip.

There's a ton of interest in Gurley's health this offseason after he essentially disappeared from relevance during the Super Bowl. Some people think he was underused because he was secretly nursing an injury ... though Gurley and head coach Sean McVay have insisted he was healthy.

Rami Malek Falls Hard Off Oscars Stage ... Grips His Trophy, Though!!!

Published | Updated

Rami Malek's big night at the Academy Awards ended with a bang ... of his body tumbling off the very stage where he won his first Oscar! Let's just say the victory lap went bust.

After the ceremony ended, Rami was up on the stage -- possibly posing for a pic -- when he slipped off the edge and fell hard onto the ground in front of the seats.

You can tell he did his best to hold on to the Best Actor statuette he'd just won for his performance in "Bohemian Rhapsody."

You can see how stunned Rami was as paramedics rushed out to the front row to check on him. But ultimately, Rami was more embarrassed than injured -- he did plenty of interviews afterward and seemed fine.

Queen opened the Academy Awards show with "We Will Rock You" -- so, it seems only fitting that the guy who played Freddie Mercury ended the whole night ... by rock 'n' rolling off the stage.

Beverley Owen OG Marilyn from 'The Munsters' Dead at 81

Published | Updated

Beverley Owen -- the actress who originally played Marilyn in "The Munsters" -- has died.

Beverley's daughter, Polly Stone, tells TMZ ... the actress died on February 21 after battling ovarian cancer. Beverley was surrounded by friends and family at her home in Vermont. We're told Beverley was diagnosed in January 2017 and had kept it private.

Fellow cast member Butch Patrick, who played little Eddie Munster on the show, shared the news on Facebook. He said, "Beautiful Beverley Owen has left us. What a sweet soul. I had the biggest crush on her. RIP Bev and thanks for your 13 memorable Marilyn Munster episodes."

Beverley left the role after just one season to marry producer Jon Stone. They were married for nearly a decade and have two daughters. Pat Priest took over for Beverley and starred as Marilyn for the remainder of the series.

Beverley's first TV gig was in "As the World Turns" back in 1956. She then appeared on other shows, including "The Doctors," "Kraft Mystery Theater," "Wagon Train," "The Virginian," "Another World" and "Bullet for a Badman" before earning stardom on "The Munsters."

Jussie Smollett $3,500 Check and Texts Showing 'Training' Fee ... Call Police Claim Into Question

Published | Updated

Jussie Smollett has hard evidence to support his claim the Chicago Police Superintendent got it wrong when he told the media the actor paid $3,500 to Abel and Ola Osundairo to stage an attack.

TMZ has obtained documents that on the surface back his claim the $3,500 check he wrote to Abel was for training. The check was written to Abel on January 23, 2019, six days before the "attack." The memo line reads, "5 week Nutrition/Workout program Don't Go."

Sources connected to Jussie tell us, the reference to "Don't Go" is a song for which Jussie was going to shoot a music video ... featuring himself shirtless. The sources say Jussie had gained weight -- he was 192 lbs and needed to lose 20 pounds for the shoot, and that's why he hired Abel ... whom he says he calls "Bon."

There are various texts starting from January 20 between Jussie and Bon. On January 28 -- the day before the "attack" -- Bon wrote, "I know you're traveling today, make sure you get at least 45 mins of cardio."

Another text on January 20 outlines a menu for the day, including chicken thigh, StarKist Tuna, Eggs and Smucker's peanut butter. And, a text on January 25 reads, "This is the meal plan and the breakdown of macronutrients. Also includes projected fat loss."

You also see a text showing a calendar where February 23 is marked "Don't Go." The sources say that's the date of the music video shoot.

There's another screenshot from Sept. 27, 2018, presumably showing Jussie has paid Ola in the past. It's a Venmo payment of $100 to Bola (Abimbola aka Abel) for "Training."

Sources connected to Jussie say the $3,500 breakdown is as follows -- $600 a week for the workout plan for 5 weeks, and $100 a week for the nutrition plan for 5 weeks.

JUSSIE PAID FOR ATTACK

As we reported, Ola and Abel also told the grand jury the payment was for training.

This is not proof the attack wasn't staged, but in a trial, all the defense has to do is create reasonable doubt, and we're told the Police Superintendent's pronouncement will become a defense weapon if the case goes to trial.

The Police Superintendent also said during the news conference Jussie himself sent the racist letter 8 days before the attack. Federal law enforcement sources tell us they have not concluded who wrote the letter ... at least not yet.

This is one of several videos Abel posted titled "Fat to Fit in 2 months."

Jussie Smollett Did NOT Pay Brother $3,500 for 'Attack'

Published | Updated

The Chicago PD claims Jussie Smollett paid Ola and Abel Osundairo $3,500 to fake an attack, but sources connected to the case tell TMZ that's just not the case.

Our sources say the brothers made a deal with Jussie to train him for 5 weeks so he could get in shape for an upcoming music video. Jussie had said to Ola that he wanted abs like his. Both Abel and Ola agreed to train Jussie, and also give him a 5-week nutrition plan.

Our sources say Jussie told the brothers he would pay them for their services, but no specific amount was discussed.

JUSSIE PAID FOR ATTACK

A few days before the "attack," Jussie wrote the brothers a check for $3,500. The memo line read, "5 weeks training nutrition plan."

Our sources say Ola and Abel told the grand jury they were paid for the 5-week program and not for the "attack." One source connected with the brothers did say Ola and Abel felt the amount was "a little high" but no one ever specifically said anything about any of the money being part of a scheme.

We've learned the brothers also told the grand jury that they had nothing to do with the threatening letter mailed to Jussie Smollett 8 days before the "attack."

Dr. Drew Jussie Smollett's Got a Character Issue ... Not a Mental Health Issue

Published | Updated

Dr. Drew -- like the rest of the world -- is having trouble processing why Jussie Smollett would stage an "attack" ... but one thing's clear to the doc ... it's more about character than mental health.

The doc was out and about Thursday in NYC and raised the issue of Jussie going to a rehab facility, in light of the actor confessing in court documents he has a drug problem. Fact is ... criminal defense lawyers often put their clients in rehab to mitigate the possibility of a harsh sentence in the event they're convicted. It wouldn't be surprising if Jussie enters such a facility sooner rather than later.

JUSSIE LEAVING THE COURTHOUSE

Drew also bristles at the notion Jussie's done in the Hollywood community. Not only does he see a future for the actor ... he thinks he deserves a future, because everyone screws up.
