Stagecoach Herpes Rides In Worse Than Coachella?!?

Published | Updated

10:15 AM PT -- The Riverside County Health Department says its labs and STD programs have not seen any spike in herpes cases during Stagecoach or Coachella.

To clarify ... HerpAlert was NOT saying its surge of cases -- 114 at Stagecoach and 250 at Coachella -- were all for new patients. Some of that data includes old patients just seeking prescriptions.

There was a surprise guest riding through Stagecoach this weekend ... herpes.

According to big wigs at HerpAlert -- an online diagnosis and treatment website for the STD -- there's been another spike in people looking to get treated for herpes in the areas surrounding the festival grounds, but it's not quite as bad as the outbreak during Coachella.

HerpAlert's been helping folks out for over 2 years, with doctors issuing prescriptions to pharmacies after people upload photos of their junk for doctors to review. The turnaround time is super quick ... we're talking just 2 hours.

We're told HerpAlert noticed a surge in people seeking prescriptions for herpes during Stagecoach. Over the weekend, there were 114 cases reported in Palm Desert, Coachella Valley and Indio ... which is about half of the nearly 250 cases reported in the same areas during Coachella Weekend 1.

It's still a massive spike ... because HerpAlert tells us they typically handle 12 cases a day in SoCal.

Bottom line ... if you got down at Stagecoach, you might want to giddy-up to your local clinic.

John Singleton Family Battle Lines Are Drawn!!! All About Access to His Funds

Published | Updated

John Singleton's mother is holding her own in a fierce family battle for control of his estate -- as he lies in a coma -- and it's all about who gets access to what, and most importantly ... when.

Sources connected with the Singleton family tell TMZ ... Shelia Ward is not only up against John's daughter, Cleopatra ... but also his current girlfriend, and his estranged father.

As we reported, Cleopatra filed a motion last week, attempting to block her grandmother's proposed conservatorship, and claimed Shelia was trying to liquidate all of John's assets and freeze out his 7 children. She also insisted her father was not in a coma and was improving every day.

We're told family insiders think Cleopatra made the move based on her fears about having access to Singleton's estate -- reportedly worth somewhere north of $35 million -- but also when she'll get it. We're told she thinks Shelia will make it impossible for her, and others in the family, to gain access to Singleton's money.

Our sources say Singleton absolutely remains in a coma -- albeit a medically induced one -- but everyone in the family remains hopeful he'll recover.

As for Cleopatra's concerns about Shelia controlling the estate? Another fact is ... John's mother is his longtime business manager, so it would seem to make perfect sense she handle his professional decisions ... and we're told that's why she filed for the conservatorship.

We're told Shelia is denying any plot to cut off John's children from his estate.

Still, Cleopatra's mistrust is clear in that she's suggesting John's son, Maasai or his father, Danny be appointed conservators instead of Shelia. We're told Danny is fully in Cleopatra's camp ... as is Singleton's current GF, with whom he reportedly has a 1-year-old son.

We reached out to Singleton's camp for comment, but no word back. Ditto for Cleopatra.

A judge's ruling is expected soon on who will call the shots as John's conservator while he remains incapacitated.

TMZ broke the story ... Singleton suffered the stroke after returning from Costa Rica and experiencing problems with his legs. He checked himself into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he suffered a stroke on April 17 in his hospital room. He's remained in ICU since then.

Coachella Herpes Spike!!!

Published | Updated

There was an unwanted guest running amok at Coachella this year ... herpes.

According to honchos at HerpAlert -- an online diagnosis and treatment website for the STD -- there's been a huge spike in folks looking to get treated for herpes in the communities surrounding the famous music festival.

HerpAlert's been in business for 2 years now, with doctors issuing prescriptions to pharmacies after people submit photos of their, umm ... situation, for medical pros to review. The turnaround time is blazing fast, it only takes about 2 hours.

We're told the site has seen a massive surge in folks seeking prescriptions for herpes since Day 1 at Coachella. A whopping 1,105 cases have been reported in Indio, Palm Desert and Coachella Valley -- and also L.A., Orange and San Diego counties where most of the concertgoers live.

HerpAlert tells us they typically handle 12 cases a day in Southern Cali ... but during the first 2 days of Coachella, the site serviced almost 250 patients!!! The biggest previous spike was during Oscars weekend 2018, when they got a mere 60 cases a day.

Bottom line ... what happens in Coachella might stay with you. For life.

Britney Spears Meds Triggered Mental Health Crisis

Published | Updated

Britney Spears is at the tail end of her 30-day stay at a mental health facility ... and we've learned more about how she landed there in the first place.

As we reported, Britney has had a rough time dealing with her dad's recent illness. Jamie and Britney are super close -- he's been her conservator for nearly a dozen years -- and his health battles have taken a big toll on her.

We're told at the same time, Britney's doctors were adjusting her meds which had lost their efficacy. Britney's mental health issues were stabilized with a cocktail of medicines that were designed specifically her. Over time, those meds were increasingly ineffective and doctors needed to create a new cocktail.

We're told there were problems. First, they had to wean Britney off the existing meds. This cannot be done quickly and there's a risk of suicide if it's not done right -- it's that serious.

As doctors weaned her off the meds, they created a new cocktail, but it's all trial and error, and there were errors that made Britney unstable and ultimately unwilling to cooperate with doctors.

She was admitted to the mental health facility and we're told doctors think they've now found the right mixture of drugs.

Britney got a day pass Sunday to spend time with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, in Bev Hills. She went back to the facility the same day.

One other thing ... there have been reports the conservatorship has forced meds on Britney against her will. Not true. The conservatorship Britney is under does not permit the conservator to force drugs on the person for whom the conservatorship was created.

On that note, there have also been reports Jamie Spears forced Britney into the mental health facility. The type of conservatorship Britney has -- through the probate court -- does not allow a conservator to force someone into a mental health facility.

What's more, we're told Jamie is adamant -- he did not want his daughter to go to the facility because he thought it would leak out to the media and he felt there were better ways of solving her problems. We're told Britney is the one who said she wanted to go.

'RHONJ' Star Dolores Catania Rescues Baby Bat!!! TMZ Photog Plays Robin

Published | Updated

Holy baby animals in trouble, Batman!

That's what Dolores Catania was probably thinking when she found an apparently injured bat on an NYC street and stepped up to save the day ... with an assist from our paparazzo.

We got the 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star in NYC Monday, shortly after she launched Operation Bat Rescue. Dolores explained her doctor's visit was delayed after she stumbled on the baby bat. She was frantically trying to get someone to take the animal to the nearest bat cave ... AKA some experts to nurse it back to health.

That's where our guy, Jeremy, became her Johnny-on-the-spot. Dolores was in a bind due to a scheduled doctor's appointment (facials ain't gonna do themselves, after all) and begged Jeremy to save the day ... or, at least, the bat.

Dolores Catania Finds Bat
ANSWER THE BAT-SIGNAL

Dolores, a huge animal lover who always tweets about animal rescues, was outside her doctor's office when she convinced Jeremy to do her bidding. She asked him to take the BAT to a BIRD sanctuary ... which doesn't exactly add up, but beats leaving it for dead.

Watch the clip to see how he got the job done.

BTW, we got this update since the drop-off. Turns out it's a male Eastern red bat.

This little guy was severely dehydrated, but much like your average town drunk ... after getting some fluids, we're told he's doing much better. And, don't worry, Eastern red bats aren't mini-Draculas. We checked ... they eat moths and insects.

BTW, urgent care for bats? NYC really does have it all.

After the fight, Dustin and Max couldn't have been more respectful toward each other -- each praising the other fighter for battling their hearts out.
