Land O'Lakes New Change Sparks Outrage 'Kiss This Butter Buyer's Ass!!!'

Published

Land O'Lakes made a big branding change, and one woman's utter and ridiculous fury at the move has caught the attention of the Internet -- which is churning up joke after joke.

You mighta heard about the company removing the image of a Native American woman holding a box of their butter from the logo and simply having the surrounding lakes and trees instead -- which was seen by some as a progressive step forward and long overdue.

Of course, the pendulum swings both ways ... with many people getting astoundingly pissed about the pivot to "PC culture" -- including one Twitter user who had some choice words.

The lady's tweet -- which has resurfaced and since gone viral -- reads in clear terms, "Land O Lakes can kiss this butter buyer's ass. My family has been a Land O Lakes family since I can remember. No more. I'm fine with the store brand from here on out."

There's even more outrage ... she goes on to say, "Your virtue signaling lost you some good customers who were always willing to pay more for your product. #BuhByeLOL." The lady also included a pic of the old Land O'Lakes butter, as well as a shot of her cart with a TON of the generic store brand stuff which she apparently bought. Okay, jeez ... point made.

Now, Twitter found this and is having a field day ... with many people pointing out that to identify oneself and your brood as a "Land O Lakes family" is interesting in and of itself, but there are even more takes that are coming from this ... including cracks at LOL itself.

One user took a screenshot of a text exchange between her and her dad, and her papa said ... "Finally got rid of her. But kept her land." The daughter replied, "omg." That's one way to look at it -- then of course, there's the 'Star Wars' POV too, which is more light-hearted.

People super-imposed Lando Calrissian onto the logo and turned Land O'Lakes butter into Lando Lakes butter ... slow clap, well done, guys. The rabbit hole goes deeper and deeper on this thing, and we're not gonna walk you through all of it, 'cause it gets pretty weird.

The point is ... no good deed ever goes unpunished with the meme treatment.

Pastor Tony Spell On House Arrest After Playing Coy On Potential Church Service

Published | Updated

Pastor Tony Spell had to consult God on whether he'd continue defying Louisiana's stay-at-home order after getting released from custody -- but a judge didn't wanna wait for the man upstairs ... putting an ankle monitor on the preacher instead.

The Baton Rouge minister got placed on house arrest Saturday after playing coy with a court magistrate, who demanded to know whether Tony was planning to hold a church service this coming Sunday -- this, of course, after he bailed out of jail with a $5k bond.

Tony Spell Released
CAN'T SHAKE MY FAITH

Welp, PTS didn't have a clear answer for the judge -- and after he was given 'til the end of the day to tell him his plans, Pastor Spell instead sent a cryptic response ... a scripture from the Bible, Peter 3:14, specifically, which is all about doing the right thing despite the uproar.

It reads, "But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled." Sounds like Tony WAS planning to do it. And, lo and behold, that was enough for the judge to say enough ... confining him to his home.

Tony's attorney, Joe Long, tells us the monitor was placed on his client around 9 AM this morning. When we reached out to Pastor Spell, he sent us a photo of Rosa Parks with a quote that reads, "You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right."

Jeff Ross Roasts Random Fans on IG Live ... Gotta Be Thick Skinned!!!

Published
Jeff Ross
STEP RIGHT UP!!!

Jeff Ross couldn't stay away from what he does best -- roasting people on a big platform -- so he got right back to it with some newbie volunteers ... quarantine-style, of course.

The comedian held an Insta-Roast Saturday on IG Live, which didn't feature any big celebs like his usual roasts do -- instead, he picked out random users who were joining the chat to hop on up and have him take some light-hearted shots at them, impromptu and off the cuff.

Safe to say, the roasting did NOT disappoint -- Jeff didn't skip a beat in pinpointing the goofiest thing about anyone who was brave enough to let Jeff have at 'em. He made fun of a guy who apparently resembled the garbage man version of Boy George. Nice!

He also asked why one gal was bent forward on her elbows while talking to him, with Jeff asking if she was getting banged from behind. She laughed, and then showed off her BF, who was NOT doing that. He went on to tell one couple that they looked like they'd eaten all their toilet paper, while telling another woman she looked like she just got out of jail.

Everybody got a laugh out of it, and Jeff himself even noted he needed this ... sounds like he's going a little stir crazy too and wanted to get back to normal as safely as possible.

Looks like people were down with the digital roast -- if it becomes a regular thing, more power to him.

Stinis Family's Skytypers More Messages of Hope for L.A. ... Can Be Seen for Miles

Published

It's about that time of the month again -- where private planes fly around all over L.A. with some awesome messages that can be seen from the sky for miles ... which is all free!

You might remember the letters from above from about a month ago, with messages like "WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS" and others like it. Welp, those affirmations of hope are back again -- if you live in L.A., you might've seen them Saturday -- but now, there were lots of different phrases trailing the aircrafts ... this time, lots of shout-outs to frontline workers.

Some of the messages from this weekend read, "THANK YOU GROCERY AND HEALTHCARE WORKERS" (we know, it's a mouthful, but worth saying), as well as, "❤️ FIRST RESPONDERS," and last, but not least -- "STAY STRONG LA." Good stuff.

We've learned that the people doing this are part of the aviator Stinis Family, who volunteer their own planes and pilots for this cause ... all just to lift people's spirits. They make their way to the DTLA and Hollywood areas, up to Burbank, back down to Santa Monica and Beverly Hills ... and then head south hitting Huntington Beach, Anaheim and Irvine, before finally ending the flight back at Chino Airport in San Bernardino County.

The coolest thing about these giant messages in the sky is that they are, in fact, massive. Apparently, each letter is about as tall as the Empire State Building (about 1,200 feet) and can be seen from 5 to 7 miles from wherever they are. Neat!

Pod of Dolphins Glow in the Dark ... It's Called SCIENCE!!!

SHINING SEALIFE

These SoCal dolphins are lit, y'all -- quite literally, and while it might look out of this world ... it's just simple bioluminescence.

The incredible nature scene played out Wednesday just after sunset in Newport Beach ... but the footage, captured by photographer Patrick Coyne, didn't start spreading like fire until it was posted Thursday night by a popular whale watching company.

Coyne, who also recently shot bioluminescent waves crashing the shore, said it was incredibly challenging capturing the dolphin vid ... trying to spot what you're looking for in pitch black conditions. It almost didn't happen.

As he put it, "We were out for a few hours and on our final stretch back we finally had 2 dolphins pop up to start the incredible glowing show."

So, what makes them glow? Well, obviously it's caused by algae in the water around the dolphins. Duh!!! (Yeah, we Googled).

According to National Geographic, bioluminescent phytoplankton is what gives the surf its electric blue glow. The bioluminescence could also be a form of self-defense for the algae.

Whatever. All we know is it looks REALLY cool!!!

Drake These Kids Can Really 'Slide' ... Viral Assist Sparks Big Following, Donations

Published | Updated

Drake's "Toosie Slide" dance challenge has brought much joy during the coronavirus pandemic, and he took it upon himself to help a group of African kids go viral for their moves ... and spread even more joy.

If you missed it ... the Masaka Kids, comprised of orphans from Uganda who have crazy dancing skills, posted their rendition of the 'Slide' on Friday. When Drake shared it on his Instagram Story the following day, it blew up ... as did the Masaka Kids' social media following.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Suuna Hassan, founder of the organization, tells TMZ ... the children wanted to partake in the challenge because they love the song and hoped Drake would notice, even though it was a long shot.

Fortunately, the kids' rendition instantly began gaining traction on TikTok, Twitter and IG, and Drake did notice ... so he reached out directly to ask if he could post the vid, too.

Hassan says he and the children cried tears of joy at the gesture and spent the next day celebrating and doing what they do best ... more dancing. In fact, they're sharing their most recent performance -- which shows they got a lot more groovin' to do.

Even more awesome ... we're told since Friday, the Masaka Kids Africana account has gained more than 120,000 Instagram followers and the org has received hundreds of dollars in donations.

Hassan says many more have inquired about how to donate clothes and other items ... and Drake's shout-out to his massive following certainly gave them a much-needed boost.

Presidents Obama & Clinton Odd, Yet Accurate Titles for MJ Doc Ex-Chicago Resident, AR Gov.

Published | Updated

The new Michael Jordan documentary has a funny way of describing kiiinda important people in U.S. history -- like Barack Obama and Bill Clinton -- but hey ... they aren't wrong.

On Sunday, ESPN aired the first two episodes of "The Last Dance" -- and while they were talking about MJ's early years at UNC and eventually with the Bulls ... they brought in former Presidents Obama and Clinton.

Funny enough, the producers didn't seem interested in highlighting either guy's political career ... referring to Bubba as "Bill Clinton, Former Arkansas Governor" and Barry as "Former Chicago Resident." Disrespectful? Eh, maybe. Hilarious??? Abso-freakin'-lutely!

Here's the thing ... the odd title choices aren't incorrect. Yes, Bill was the governor of AR once upon a time before he made a run at the White House in the early '90s -- and he WAS discussing Scottie Pippen's days at the University of Central Arkansas.

And sure, Barack, the former U.S. Senator and Prez WAS talking about what Chi-Town was like when MJ first arrived.

BTW, there were other famous talking heads for the interview, including Common ... who told a sad but funny story about MJ basically saying ... "F*** Them Kids."

Bay Area Walmart Man Shot & Killed for Swinging Bat ... Cops Say Tasers Used First

Published | Updated

A man wielding a baseball bat in a Bay Area Walmart was gunned down by police officers -- who claim they fired tasers first before a lethal shot, but video shows the guy was down.

The scene played out Saturday at a Walmart in San Leandro, just outside of Oakland and Alameda -- where cops were summoned after some guy started swinging a bat at people near the front entrance. When they arrived, they encountered him -- and it was all on film.

Check out the clip, which shows the moments leading up to the guy getting shot. He is, in fact, approaching the two officers with the metal bat -- and eventually, you hear a shot of some sort go off from the weapons they have drawn, which cops say were tasers at first.

The dude drops the bat and stumbles back, away from the officers. They follow him and you hear another shot, which makes the guy drop to the floor face first. You hear people freaking out after the second shot goes off, with someone screaming "No more!"

Eventually, as the cops approach the man's limp body, a third shot goes off, which causes people to scream even more. All the shots sound similar -- hard to tell which was the gunshot.

As for how the San Leandro Police Department is explaining the sequence of events, they say both officers deployed their tasers unsuccessfully, and finally ... one of them used their gun. If that's true, that would mean the first two shots were tasers here, and one of the cops shot the dude with a gun when he was on the ground ... and no longer an active threat.

It's unclear if the SLPD has seen the video, but fact is ... it doesn't look good.

Malibu Farmers Market Gets Social Distancing Right ... Take Note, Angelenos

Published | Updated

At long last, an L.A.-area farmers market has FINALLY implemented proper social distancing protocols for the masses ... and it looks like Malibu's the first to do it well.

These photos show the Malibu Farmers Market in full swing Sunday, but it looks pretty dead -- which is a good thing. It appears organizers have put in place new rules that they're making their shoppers (and vendors) abide by ... so far, it seems successful.

You can see ropes along the front of the farmer's stands, with signs telling people to stand behind the line. The tents here are also a good 6-feet apart from each other -- and the whole layout in general is way more spread out than what we've seen at other markets in recent weeks. The shoppers themselves also seem to be practicing appropriate safety measures, with solid social distancing and even face masks to boot. Well done, Malibu!

Granted, the 'Bu isn't nearly as populated as some of the more south-end cities below it -- places like Santa Monica, Brentwood, Studio City and other neighboring L.A. 'hoods have populations that are more than double than that of Malibu, which is a meager 13,000 or so.

Still, we'll give props where it's due. Seems like the richest and most privileged among us are putting health over an organic plum -- here's hoping others follow suit.

Ex-SF Giants Star Aubrey Huff Freedom Looks Like This, Bitches!!! Protests Along SD Shoreline

Published

Former San Francisco Giants star Aubrey Huff is basking in the glory he finds from protesters taking to the streets near San Diego -- all of whom are demanding to be set free.

The World Series winner and ex-first baseman posted a rather telling video Sunday showing off a TON of demonstrators in Encinitas, CA -- just a stone's throw away from central SD. They were out there with a ton of signs, all with the same goal ... reopening the area -- specifically, their hiking trails, beaches and whatever else is closed out there.

Aubrey was digging the vibes. He captioned his vid, "This is what freedom looks like. Current situation in Encinitas, CA. But a friendly reminder to my fellow #coronavirus protesters. If you’re gonna demand the beaches opening back up don’t wear a mask."

Other videos captured a bunch of what appeared to be Trump supporters waving the American flag and donning red MAGA hats. Some reports even say people were chanting, "Let us surf!" near the shore. In any case, these San Diego County residents are out in force.

It's just the latest protest staged across the country -- there were several that took place on Saturday alone ... not to mention the ones that swept through the Mid-West earlier in the week ... including a couple in Huntington Beach in Orange County, not far from L.A.

Clearly, the people are getting restless -- and with President Trump continuing to egg them on, it's probably only going to get worse from here. Where's Martial Law when you need it?

Teddy Riley Blows It In Battle with Babyface ... Crappy Audio to Blame

Published

Teddy Riley and Babyface's battle was the talk of social media Saturday night, but for all the wrong reasons ... and Teddy Riley's audio equipment is to blame.

The two music legends were supposed to square off as part Swizz Beatz and Timbaland's Instagram battle series ... and nearly 400k people were tuned in to watch it go down. Babyface was solo, set up in what looked like his home studio, and Teddy had something more elaborate ... with a microphone and crew around him.

The audio issues were immediate, Teddy's sound was muffled, ruining the timing and quality, while Babyface's sounded perfectly clear.

Teddy -- who had what appeared to be an audio crew with him -- took several pauses, trying to fix the tech issues ... but the sound never improved and the competition ultimately got canceled.

Teddy Riley, Babyface
IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED...

Fans were disappointed ... and the whole thing turned into a social media frenzy with memes and even tweets sent out by celebs mocking the whole thing.

The good news? Both Teddy and Babyface say they'll be back for round 2 of the competition as soon as Teddy can get his audio figured out.
