Tommy Lee Posts Transphobic OAN Clip ... Getting Slammed Online

Published | Updated
UPDATE

5:39 AM PT -- Tommy Lee pulled his post down, saying, "I deleted my 'controversial' post because I am in no way transphobic or agains the LGBTQ+ community or any f***ing community ... s**t, I'm the gayest motherf***er."

Tommy Lee is stirring up controversy on his social media page ... because he reposted a transphobic clip from far-right news network OAN.

The Mötley Crüe drummer posted the One America News Network clip on his official Instagram account Friday afternoon ... and it's being met with mixed reactions from celebs and Average Joes.

In the clip, OAN anchor Liz Wheeler is going on a rant about transgender, transracial and transabled people ... trying to get a rise out of folks with a segment light on facts and heavy on drama ... ticking off all the things she fantasizes could happen down the road.

Tommy added the caption, "Where does it end people?!?!"

The post quickly caught the attention of Questlove, who replied ... "Oan tho? #unfollow."

Tommy's friend, Criss Angel, rushed to his defense ... commenting, "100%."

The rest of the replies and comments are mostly from people condemning Tommy, but he does have some supporters out there.

OAN is known to stoke controversy ... and the network has been dropped by most major cable carriers in the United States.

But, it seems Tommy's still tuning in.

'Bel-Air' Star Simone Joy Jones I'd Make A Fun Princess Tiana ... But Rooting for All Black Women

Published | Updated

Simone Joy Jones has her eye on the lead in Disney's live-action version of "The Princess and the Frog," and while she's hoping she scores the role ... she also says any Black woman would be iconic.

We caught up with the "Bel-Air" star and had to ask about her hopes for the remake ... after she posted her very own submission for the highly sought-after role of Princess Tiana.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Simone acknowledged she's up against many talented actresses -- including some of her "Bel-Air" costars -- and says every person auditioning for the role would bring something different. A diplomatic response, for sure, but don't get it twisted ... she's totally confident she'd be a fun fit.

Either way, Simone says she's going to watch the film, pointing to the impact of seeing a live-action Black Disney princess. As she put it, "It always changes the ecosystem of the culture when you see a Black girl being her everything."

BTW, she also gave her stamp of approval on a Princess Tiana-related change coming to Disneyland and Disney World!

As for the movie, it's reportedly in the development stage -- so, we'll have to wait to see who wins the crown!!!

Shark Attack Nurse-on-Nurse Violence!!! Nurse Shark Attacks Nurse

Published

So, what ever happened to professional courtesy?

Carmen Canovas Cervello, yes, a nurse, was snorkeling in the Maldives when a 220-lb, 8-foot-long nurse shark attacked her and left a gnarly, 6-inch wound as a souvenir.

The video is crazy ... you see the shark circle her before it sinks its chompers in the snorkeler, right in her shoulder and upper back.

So that's actually not the craziest part ... Cervello goes to shore, gets the wound cleaned, and jumps back in the ocean for a second swim!!!

Her friend, Ibrahim Shafeeg, an underwater photog, is the one who shot the footage. No excuse to miss a shot!

BTW ... they knew these waters were shark-infested but, hey, you take your chances. Fact is, most nurse sharks don't pose a danger, unless they're provoked.

These are vacation vids that won't bore their friends.

North Korea Fires Ballistic Missile ... Evacuation Order In Japan

Published | Updated

A scary situation for the people of Japan, as a North Korean ballistic missile launch resulted in an evacuation order on Japan's second-largest island.

The terrifying scene played out Thursday morning when North Korea fired a missile off the east coast of the Korean Peninsula, headed for the sea off the coast of Japan.

Sirens blared in Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost main island, where residents were urged to seek shelter.

"Evacuate immediately. Evacuate immediately," read the initial warning from the Japanese government ... though the Japanese Coast Guard later said the missile had already crashed into the sea.

It's unclear exactly what type of weapon North Korea fired ... and there's no data yet on how far it traveled. Japan is not saying exactly where the missile crashed into the sea either.

DANGEROUS TIMES

North Korea's been firing a barrage of weapons tests lately, with the latest launch coming on the heels of Kim Jong-Un stressing the need to beef up the country's nuclear arsenal with "increasing speed in a more practical and offensive" manner.

Alarming stuff, to say the least.

Twins' Kyle Farmer Undergoing Surgery To Realign Teeth ... After Hit By Pitch

Published | Updated

Minnesota Twins shortstop Kyle Farmer will be spending several unexpected hours in a dentist chair on Wednesday evening ... after he took a 92 MPH fastball to the face earlier in the day.

The scene was terrifying ... in the bottom of the fourth inning of the Twins' game against the White Sox at Target Field in Minneapolis, a heater got away from Chicago ace Lucas Giolito -- and it ended up nailing Farmer right in the mouth.

Video from the game's broadcast shows the 32-year-old immediately crumpled to the ground in pain ... as trainers raced out to tend to him.

Somehow, though, he avoided a broken jaw -- news that Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli called a bit of "a miracle."

"Thank God we got news that was better than what we were expecting," Baldelli told reporters after the game.

But, Farmer didn't come out unscathed ... Baldelli said his player will need surgery "to realign his teeth and fix a major laceration of the lower jaw."

Farmer had played nearly every day for the Twins this year, batting .226 with a home run and five RBI. It's unclear how much time he'll miss while recovering from the mouth injury.

He did get at least some morale boost Wednesday afternoon following the HBP -- as the Twins ended up beating Chicago, 3-1, while he was getting checked out by docs.

Dalai Lama Saying Sorry After Creepy Request ... Asks Kid to 'Suck My Tongue'

Published | Updated

The Dalai Lama, in all his wisdom, is rolling out a much-needed apology ... after getting dragged online for bizarrely asking a child to suck his tongue at a recent event.

That's right, the religious leader is saying sorry after his problematic request at the city of Dharamshala in February, with his office issuing a statement saying he's apologizing "to the boy and his family, as well as his many friends across the world, for the hurt his words may have caused." Words, not actions, BTW.

His people say DL "teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras" ... but many online have called BS on any playfulness going on here.

The whole thing was caught on video -- the boy kindly asks if he can hug the 87-year-old, but it quickly becomes an uncomfortable watch. The Dalai follows it up with a kiss on the lips -- which you'd think is as bad as it could get ... that is until he asks the boy to "suck my tongue."

This isn't the first time the Nobel Peace Prize winner has faced controversy -- he apologized back in 2019 after talking about the possibility of a female Dalai Lama succeeding him ... saying she "should be more attractive."

Some online have called for him to be stripped of his title, but it doesn't look like a change is coming this time around.

We covered it all in the latest episode of The TMZ Podcast, available on all podcast platforms!

Taylor Swift Fans Think She's Signaled Breakup In Recent Concert Moves

Published | Updated

Taylor Swift fans are dissecting her recent public appearances to see if there were clues about her breakup with Joe Alwyn -- and now ... everything's under the microscope.

Swifties are analyzing a TikTok clip from one of her 'Eras' concerts in Arizona -- where some folks think she got emotional during a performance of her track "Champagne Problems." In light of this weekend's news ... a handful believe this must have meant something.

While the song is about an unrequited marriage proposal, it's hard to say if there's anything to this. TS doesn't look any more animated than she does for any other song. There are also those who claim she tears up, but you can't see any active waterworks on her face.

Eye of the beholder, we suppose ... people see what they wanna see.

That's not the only thing being studied in the aftermath of her split. A last-minute song change in her setlist is also getting picked apart as suggesting something bigger -- the swap being between "Invisible String," a track about 2 soulmates, to another song called "The 1" ... which focuses on love lost and reminiscing on a former relationship.

Seeing how "The 1" made the cut, some Swifties think she was telegraphing trouble with Joe. Again, it's possible, but on the flip side ... it could just as easily mean nothing at all.

The big breakup news came over the weekend ... Taylor and JA are reported to have gone their separate ways in recent weeks. The exact timeline isn't clear, nor do we know who broke up with whom. He's said to have been absent from her tour, which makes sense now.

Reports also say the whole thing was amicable and they'll remain friends. They were together for 6 years.

Lizzo & Jack Black 'Star Wars' Cameos ... Seen as Last Straw by Fan Boys 😳

Published

It seems some 'Star Wars' diehards can't deal with Lizzo and Jack Black's cameos on 'The Mandalorian'  ... 'cause they're calling their appearances the death of the franchise. Yeesh ...

Here's the deal ... the 2 A-listers popped up on last week's episode of the hit Disney+ show, and it ruffled some feathers in the 'Star Wars' fanbase. Some thought the series, and the IP as a whole, had jumped the shark ... and that the magic of 'SW' was over and done with.

That sentiment came to a fever pitch this weekend with one dude's now-viral tweet ... which has spurred a lot of discourse about who, exactly, 'Star Wars' was made for in its original iteration ... and what it's come to represent now. Check out how this fella put it.

The Twitter user writes, "#StarWars isn't for us nerds anymore. We who respect the lore & would be in tears after being cast in one of the movies or shows. Star Wars is now for the popular kids who giggled & high-fived the bullies for stuffing you in your locker."

He adds with some doom and gloom, "It's crashing and #Disney deserves it." Jesus, dude!

The fanboy's thoughts were quite divisive on the bird app, with many responding to his tweet with confusion and shock. Basically, they feel like he's overreacting -- and that 'Star Wars' can (and should) be for everyone ... not just the locker-dwellers from the '70s and '80s.

While many tried shutting this guy down/laughing him off, there's a lot of folks who actually agree with him -- claiming Disney's just out for big names and brands ... and that 'Star Wars' has devolved into a soulless money grab. The Mouse House is definitely out for cash, no doubt, but ya gotta figure they have the best intentions with hires like Lizzo and JB.

Of course, the opinion of an OG goes a long way too ... Billy Dee Williams weighed in on this, and he's cool with Jack and Liz being in the family. That's gotta count for something.

In a galaxy far, far away ... outrage doesn't exist. Not here, though, unfortunately.

Hulu New Freaknik Doc ... Freaking Out Older Gen. of Ragers!!!

Published
freaknik split
boy, takes me back ...

Hulu's forthcoming documentary about Freaknik apparently has some old-school partiers trembling in their boots ... and one woman's now-viral concerns might reflect the many.

A TikToker named Tina posted a clip that's making the rounds, and it seems to be a perfect encapsulation of what a lot of late-40-somethings/early-50-somethings in and around the Atlanta area are worried about with this movie coming out ... namely, showing up in this.

Check out her breakdown of what was going on back then during the legendary Freaknik street festivals that used to overtake the ATL during Spring Break ... sounds like a wild time.

As Tina notes here, she's not so much worried about herself in this instance ... as she says she would always avoid the giant video cameras that were being busted out left and right -- a staple of Freaknik culture, it seems, in those days. She says she never did anything crazy or regretful on tape -- but the same can't be said for others, and she's nervous for them.

Her angst is now trending on Twitter, too, BTW ... with a lot of folks joking that their moms and aunts probably don't want this thing hitting the airwaves -- 'cause it could include some old footage that's a little bit embarrassing. Of course, there's some ugliness as well.

The Freaknik parties of the '90s ended up drawing a lot of crime and debauchery to Atlanta at its peak -- including looting, robberies, assaults and sexual assaults ... the latter of which started to become a worrisome trend as more women were being manhandled in public.

The issue got so bad ... city leaders started to crack down and break up Freaknik to the point that it wasn't what it once was -- and eventually dissolved entirely in the late '90s.

Some in Atlanta have tried to revive Freaknik in recent years, but it's never been the same. In any case -- the new doc, 'The Wildest Party Never Told,' is aiming to expose all of it.

Buckle up!

Elon Musk Tweaks NPR's 'State Media' Status ... As Org Boycotts Twitter

Published | Updated
UPDATE

1:03 PM PT -- NPR reporter Bobby Allyn says Twitter is removing the state-media label from NPR's account and instead adding "Government-Funded" ... which now reflects on the platform.

UPDATE
UPDATE

EM apparently told Allyn that Twitter will do this for other outlets as well in the near future.

Elon Musk appears to be flip-flopping on whether Twitter considers NPR to be state-run media -- although it's unclear if he's gonna take that label off their account.

The Twit-in-Chief was directly asked about this by an NPR reporter this week ... and when he was shown the hard numbers on where NPR gets its funding -- with only 1% of it coming from the U.S. government, and a majority of it coming from donors -- he relented a bit.

According to the journo -- citing an email exchange he says he was having with Musk personally -- EM apparently didn't understand the difference between public media and state-sanctioned media ... and replied, "Well, then we should fix it" as it pertains to NPR's status.

Musk then supposedly asked for the breakdown of their finances, which the reporter says was provided to him ... to which Musk then apparently responded, "The operating principle at new Twitter is simply fair and equal treatment, so if we label non-US accounts as govt, then we should do the same for US, but it sounds like that might not be accurate here."

Earlier in the day, Musk said NPR's new state-affiliated media label --  which Twitter has yet to remove -- seemed "accurate." But now, based on this new reporting, it sounds like he's not sure. Musk reportedly told this reporter Twitter would mull over a final decision.

Of course, NPR is not state-controlled media -- unlike the ones in North Korea, China and Russia ... it's a nonprofit news org that operates independently and has provided accurate reporting for years. In light of Twitter's designation, NPR has stopped tweeting altogether.

2023 Masters Massive Trees Fall On Golf Course ... Nearly Crush Patrons

Published

Terrifying moment at the Masters on Friday ... two huge pine trees fell near the 17th tee at the famed Augusta National golf course -- nearly crushing spectators.

It all went down just minutes ago during the second round of the prestigious golf tournament in Georgia ... as Sergio Garcia was stalking a putt on a nearby green.

You can see in video of the tourney's broadcast, the trees came down quickly ... sending fans scurrying away to avoid being crushed.

Thankfully, according to Masters officials, no one was injured ... a small miracle considering the sheer amount of people who attended the event Friday.

Play was suspended as workers used chainsaws to clear the debris from the course. Masters officials later called off the second round, saying golfers will need to finish on Saturday morning before beginning their rounds.

Brooks Koepka is currently the leader of the tournament at 12-under.

WWE Apologizes For Showing Auschwitz During WrestleMania Promo

Published | Updated

WWE apologized on Friday for showing a photograph of the Auschwitz concentration camp where more than 1 million Jews were murdered ... during a WrestleMania promo Saturday night.

The company faced backlash from fans, media, and even the Auschwitz Memorial once it became clear they used the image to promote the Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio match.

But now, the WWE is apologizing, saying they had no idea the image was used.

"We had no knowledge of what was depicted. As soon as we learned, it was removed immediately,” the company told The Washington Post.

It remains to be seen if the explanation will be enough ... the Auschwitz Memorial ripped into WWE before the apology, saying, "The fact that Auschwitz image was used to promote a WWE match is hard to call 'an editing mistake.'"

"Exploiting the site that became a symbol of enormous human tragedy is shameless and insults the memory of all victims of Auschwitz."

According to Auschwitz Memorial's website, the Germans established Auschwitz in 1940 in German-occupied Poland during World War II, and it was the largest of the Nazi concentration camps.

WWE, once they became aware of what happened, replaced the image of Auschwitz with generic footage of barbed wire on later airings and reruns of WrestleMania.

South African Pilot There's a Freakin' Cobra on Me!!!! Makes Emergency Landing

Published | Updated

Samuel L. Jackson's got nothing on the South African pilot who made an emergency landing this week after finding a surprise stowaway on his hip -- a snake that easily could've killed him!!!

Rudolf Erasmus says he had to ground his aircraft Monday while flying 4 people in a small twin prop plane, because he realized -- while up in the air -- something cold was rubbing against his skin from under his shirt.

At first, he thought his water bottle was leaking on him ... but then he looked down and saw the serpent.

It wasn't just any snake either ... Erasmus says he recognized it was a Cape cobra, which has enough venom in its fangs to wipe out 9 people with a single strike. So, yeah ... deadly.

The pilot says he tried grabbing it and getting it under control -- refraining from telling the passengers to avoid a panic -- but eventually, he had to break the news 'cause the cobra was on the loose under his seat. When he did, he says everyone stayed calm.

Here's the kicker ... when Erasmus landed, he says he pulled his seat forward and spotted it all curled up, but when a crew member inspected, they lost it again. In other words, the snake ended up going MIA in the end.

Miraculously, no one was harmed and, for some reason, no one yelled Samuel L.'s famous quote! Not so funny when there's a real cobra at your feet.

Stormy Daniels Gets Record-Breaking Trump Bump On Adult Video Site

Published | Updated

Donald Trump might have had his worst day ever ... but Stormy Daniels had her best day on a popular pornography website.

The good folks over at Pornhub tell TMZ ... Donald's arrest has been a boom for Stormy's adult videos, with searches for her pornos spiking while Trump was getting booked.

We're told Pornhub users searched "Stormy" more than 650,000 times Tuesday ... it's a staggering figure on its own, but when it's compared to her daily search average over the first three months of the year, it works out to a whopping 32,400% increase.

Seems like there's a lot of interest out there as to why Trump allegedly had an affair with her.

Diving deeper into the numbers ... by 1:00 PM ET, as folks were waiting for Trump's motorcade to arrive at Manhattan Criminal Court, Pornhub says "Stormy" searches were six times their normal level ... which usually isn't peak horny hours.

Trump flew back to Mar-a-Lago on his private jet after his first day in court ... but some folks still have "jail" and "prison" on the brain ... Pornhub says searches with those two keywords this week are more popular than normal.

Trump's accused of paying Stormy $130,000 to shut up about the alleged affair. As for how much Stormy is making off the recent spike in her videos ... Pornhub is mum.

Take that to the spank bank.

Snapchat 'Disgust' Lens Eclipses Sad Face Filter ... Used Over 1.5B Times!!!

Published | Updated

There's a new Snapchat filter in town and it's become a viral sensation ... so much so, it's been used over 1 billion times, making it one of the most popular ever on the app.

The "disgust" lens depicts users looking -- as the name suggests -- totally disgusted at someone or something, and apparently there's lots going on to disgust folks. Politics, sports, and even Bud Light come to mind in recent days.

A rep for Snapchat tells TMZ … it just went live Sunday, and Snap users have already uggo'd up their faces 1.5 billion times and counting.

Celebs such as "House of Gucci" star Jared Leto, singer Meghan Trainor and influencer Charli D'Amelio have hopped on the trend ... with Meghan using it on her husband Darryl Sabara.

We're told, "disgust" just surpassed "sad" ... in the Snap filter world, at least.

The sad, or crying face, filter was similarly used 1.3 billion times in its first three days. For what it's worth ... the "shook" lens had 1 billion engagements when it launched.

Timing is everything, because the sad filter blew up last year right around the time when Amber Heard went viral on social media crying on the stand in her infamous defamation trial against Johnny Depp.

While other filters like the "puppy dog" lens, the "vomiting rainbow," "flower crown", "gender swap" and "baby" lens have had quite the run on Snapchat ... it's safe to say disgust is a complete hit!!
