Jeff Bezos Humans Will Live in Space ... Earth Will Only Be for Vacays

Published | Updated

Jeff Bezos is a super-smart guy, so you just can't dismiss what he says out of hand, but this one is mind-bending.

Bezos thinks planet earth is going to be more like Disneyland in the future rather than home base. In other words, he doesn't think people are going to be inhabiting the planet full time ... rather it will become more like a vacation destination.

Bezos spoke at the Ignatius Form in D.C. and suggested outer space will be where humans will live. He talked about floating space cities that are so massive ... they contain forests, wildlife, rivers, the works. He also said all manufacturing will be performed in deep space.

WORDS CAN'T DESCRIBE

It's almost like he drew inspiration from William Shatner's character in "Star Trek" ... which may partly explain why Shatner hitched a ride recently on Blue Origin.

And, ever the competitor, he took a shot at Elon Musk, by saying it's way more likely these colonies will float in space rather than settle on Mars.

As for earth ... well, as he said, it will just be a place you visit ... "the way you visit Yellowstone National Park."

Bezos told the crowd, “Over centuries, many people will be born in space, it will be their first home.”

It's a brave new out-of-this-world.

Kanye West Beanie Says 'Yeezy' Nickname Was Free ... But Open to Biz with Ye

Published | Updated

Ye has gone by a lot of nicknames throughout his career, but none have stuck quite like "Yeezy" ... and now the man who created it is naming his price for the moniker that made Kanye billions.

Philly rapper Beanie Sigel is the man Ye recently credited for the Yeezy handle ... shouting him out in a "Drink Champs" interview, and saying he's been trying for years to pay Sigel a lump sum of cash for the name.

111121_kanye_west_kal_1
NAME YOUR PRICE

We caught up with Beanie and former Rocafella artist Young Chris ... Beanie tells us the "Yeezy" name itself is only a tiny fraction of the brand Kanye has created ... and it's Kanye's genius and work ethic that turned the nickname into a multi-billion dollar brand. Sigel says he doesn't want Ye's money, but he'd love it if Ye could help him out in a business deal.

As for why ... Beanie says all he needs is a starter, and from there he'll work to build his own empire. You can tell it's nothing but love between the old friends.

We're told previous reports that Kanye had offered Beanie $50 million and stock options were simply based on a joke Beanie told in a club, and there was no truth to it.

Of course, Ye's Yeezy shoes have been culture-shifting ... not to mention the fashion line and other products he's rolled out on the brand -- all of which has helped Kanye amass a reported $6.6 billion fortune.

Erika Jayne Doubt I Date Another Lawyer ... Remarrying Off The Table

Published

Erika Jayne is eliminating one specific kind of suitor ... telling us she would be hard-pressed to date another lawyer like her estranged husband Tom Girardi.

We got the 'RHOBH' star leaving Jolie in Los Angeles and our photog asked her how her dating life is going, and if she would ever go out with a lawyer again.

Ya gotta see Erika's initial reaction ... but when we press her, she gets real ... explaining why lawyers are probably not the best fit for her going forward, albeit with one big exception.

As you know, Erika is in the middle of a rocky divorce with Tom and she's been sued for allegedly hiding assets through a "sham divorce." Tom is accused of stealing money intended for families of the 2018 Lion Air Flight 610 crash victims.

LOOKIN' FOR LOVE

Remember ... Erika says intelligence and money are the two most important factors in a partner, while looks and age are lower on the totem pole ... and now we know lawyers are out of bounds.

Erika's not dating anyone at the moment ... but if she ever does find a match, she tells us if another walk down the aisle is in the cards.

Colton Underwood I'm $elling My Colorado Crib

Published

Colton Underwood is moving on from his bachelor pad ... we've learned he's selling his place in Colorado.

The former 'Bachelor' recently listed the 4-bedroom home for $1.35 million ... and we're told he accepted an offer from an interested buyer just 5 days after the home hit the market, though the deal hasn't closed yet.

It's a quick turnaround for Colton ... he only just bought the home back in December 2020.

The place is laid out with a ranch floorplan, complete with a gourmet kitchen, sprawling lawn and 2.5 car garage.

The primary bedroom is on the main floor, and it comes with an oversized closet with access to the laundry room!

The place, which is about 25 miles south of Denver, is decked out with a game room, media room and a home gym, outfitted with high-end fitness equipment.

The backyard is tricked out with an oversized gas grill built into the covered porch, plus a hot tub and a gas firepit.

We don't know where Colton is heading ... whether he's staying in Colorado or not.

Britney Spears Conservatorship Terminated ... Britney is Free

Published | Updated
UPDATE

2:57 PM PT -- Britney just posted on Instagram, not holding back her excitement at all, saying, "Good God I love my fans so much it's crazy 🥺❤️ !!! I think I'm gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen 🙏🏼☀️🙌🏼 ???? #FreedBritney". Sam Asghari also posted and said history was made today.

UPDATE

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Britney Spears is now a free woman, because the judge has swiftly ended her conservatorship ... effective immediately.

The judge terminated the conservatorship without requiring any further mental evaluation ... something Britney was adamant about.

The hearing started with Britney's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, quoting Britney's June testimony ... in which she said, "I just want my life back."

The judge then went around to all the lawyers and others assembled both in court and online, asking them whether they had any objections. Not a single person -- lawyers and all -- had a problem with ending the conservatorship.

111221_free_britney_rally_kal 11/12/21
#FREEBRITNEY BOP

Both the conservatorship of Britney's person and the conservatorship of her estate have been terminated, with minor exceptions. Rosengart wanted the estate conservatorship to remain solely to execute the necessary documents so the assets she has in the conservatorship can be transferred to a trust controlled by Britney.

The judge then read her order ending this saga ... and it took just around 30 minutes start to finish.

111221_mathew_rosengart_presser_kal 11/12/21
BRITNEY IS FREE

This doesn't end the dispute over the way the conservatorship was handled, because Rosengart has made it clear ... he wants a full accounting from everyone involved in the conservatorship, especially Jamie Spears and business manager Lou Taylor, to show how much money they have moved from the conservatorship to their accounts. Now all that said, Rosengart said ultimately it's up to Britney on whether she wants to pursue Jamie and Lou Taylor.

Rosengart did make one thing clear ... he said after the hearing, "This conservatorship was corrupted by James P. Spears."

Rosengart believes there has been misappropriation of assets by various people in the conservatorship, at the expense of Britney. As we reported, her estate is worth an estimated $60 million ... and Rosengart believes it should be much larger and would be but for lawyers, Jamie, Lou Taylor and others taking cuts and salaries from the estate.

As for Britney, she has her life back in full, and as you know ... the decks are now cleared for her to marry Sam, have a baby if she wants and to buy a new house -- something we know they want. We're told Britney has bad memories in the house where she's lived during the long-running conservatorship.

wedding bells?!?

Rosengart has put in place what he calls a "safety net" so Britney gets support on both personal and financial matters.  Her personal conservator, Jodi Montgomery, has agreed to stay on and work for Britney, and Rosengart has put a financial manager in place to protect and grow her assets.

And, TMZ broke the story ... Britney wants to get back in the studio and record music, although she has not selected a producer or the material for a new album.

We're told she has no plans to perform again ... at least at this time.

The FreeBritney folks were front and center on the courthouse steps as the hearing began. They are going nuts right now ... elated with the decision.

Olivia Munn Sued For Wrongful Death ... Worker Fell From Roof

Published

A man replacing the roof at a house owned by Olivia Munn fell to his death ... and now she and her mom are being sued by his family.

According to a new lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Olivia and her mother, Kim Schmid, hired Celso Merida to work on replacing the roof at the home back in May, but on his 4th day on the job he fell from the roof and suffered a bunch of injuries.

The suit says the man died a couple weeks later, the cause of death was blunt force traumatic injuries.

According to the docs, Olivia and her mom hired an unlicensed contractor named Fernando, who in turn hired Merida ... and the late worker's family says Olivia and Kim were negligent in pawning things off to an unlicensed contractor.

The man's family also claims Olivia and her mom instructed him to work on the roof, even though the required safety guards and fall protection were not in place ... creating what the family claims was an unreasonable risk of injury.

Olivia actually featured the home in a 2014 project with Vogue.

According to the suit, Olivia and her mother did not give Merida the proper tools for him to work safely on the roof, and they didn't participate in a workers' compensation program.

The family is suing Olivia and Kim for wrongful death ... and going after them for damages.

We reached out to Olivia's camp ... so far, no word back.

Britney Spears Lobbies for Freedom ... With #FreeBritney Shirt!!!

Published | Updated

Britney Spears is not playing her cards close to the vest ... in fact, she's wearing them on her t-shirt -- she wants out of her conservatorship, and it could happen today.

Britney and her fiance, Sam Asghari, mugs for the cam with the words, "#FreeBritney, It's a human rights movement" front and center.

It's no secret Britney wants the 13+-year conservatorship to come to an end at Friday's court hearing. That could happen, but it's by no means certain.

Terminating the conservatorship is squarely before the judge. Her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, has presented his case ... that it's incongruous for someone to be under a conservatorship who is also able to work and function day-to-day. He's also alleged a slew of misdeeds on the part of conservators and others, including Britney's dad, Jamie Spears.

The key to the hearing will be whether the judge orders a mental evaluation ... something that has been regularly done and evaluated every year of the conservatorship. Britney has made it clear, she does NOT want such an evaluation, and even Jamie Spears has done a 180 and said his daughter's conservatorship should end without such an evaluation.

The judge could still order a mental evaluation, but she's given no indication which way she's leaning.

One thing is clear ... Judge Penny is sympathetic to Britney. After the singer unloaded in court last June -- laying out in detail how the conservatorship has been torturous for her -- the judge complimented her bravery in speaking out.

The hearing is set for 1:30 PM and TMZ will be all over it.

Stay tuned ...

Kathy Hilton Refusing to Film 'RHOBH' ... Until Bravo Pays Up!!!

Published | Updated

Kathy Hilton is MIA from 'Housewives' cameras, refusing to participate on the show unless producers ante up more money for her to remain in the cast.

Sources connected to 'RHOBH' tell us production has been underway for season 12 for several weeks without Kathy. We're told Hilton still hasn't signed the contract she was presented, because she simply doesn't feel like Bravo has offered enough cash.

As for her role on the show, Kathy won't be a full-time cast member, but will resume her role as "friend of the show" ... just as she was last season.

We got Kathy's sister, Kyle Richards -- who is a full-time part of the cast -- out in L.A. Thursday. We asked about Kathy's absence and she chalked it up to Kathy helping her daughter, Paris Hilton, plan for her wedding.

However, our sources say while she might be busy with the wedding, Kathy's only been missing from the show because of $$$.

Kathy became a fan favorite during season 11 ... so there's extra incentive for producers to try and make a deal and make it fast.

We got photos of 'RHOBH' stars Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Kyle Richards and others filming in Bel-Air last week sans Kathy. Clock is ticking!

Astroworld Fest Victim's Fam to Establish Scholarship ... Planned Funeral Without Travis' Help

Published | Updated
UPDATE

11:32 AM PT -- A rep for Travis tells us, "Over the last week, Travis Scott and his team have been actively exploring routes of connection with each and every family affected by the tragedy through the appropriate liaisons. He is distraught by the situation and desperately wishes to share his condolences and provide aid to them as soon as possible, but wants to remain respectful of each family’s wishes on how they’d best like to be connected."

UPDATE

"To those families who would like to reach out directly to his team, please send an email to AW21information@gmail.com where we will have a team on hand to assist."

The family of one of the deceased victims from Astroworld Fest is aiming to set up a scholarship in their loved one's name -- but not before taking Travis Scott to court first.

Rudy Peña was one of the 8 people who died Friday during the concert, and his family has plans to get a fund going in his honor to continue his legacy -- and are hoping to do so at the college he was attending ... so says their attorney, Rosendo Almaraz.

He tells us Rudy's family wants to set up a scholarship at Laredo College, where Rudy was a student ... studying to become a Border Patrol agent via a criminal justice major. Nothing's set in stone yet though ... but we're told that's their intention.

As for what will fund the scholarship they hope to create ... it'd be leftover money from the $34k they raised via a GoFundMe for Rudy. We're told some of that money is going toward funeral costs, and the rest will be earmarked for the scholarship fund -- around $20k.

BTW, you read that correctly ... the Peña family is already burying their son, and they're doing it without the help of Travis because they say they haven't heard from him ... and aren't holding their breath.

Of course, he said he'd cover the funeral expenses of those who perished -- but the Peñas insist they're paying for everything themselves ... and aren't expecting or waiting for any help.

Waiting for your permission to load TikTok Post.

We're told no official cause of death is in for Rudy just yet -- whose body was just released to his family -- Almaraz says he appears to have been trampled badly.

One last thing ... the Peña family has filed their own lawsuit already, and they have named Travis as a defendant. They're alleging negligence and gross negligence directly contributed to Rudy's death that night.

Astroworld Fest 2021 Live Nation Sought to Protect Itself from Lawsuits ... But there's a Catch

Published | Updated

Scores of lawsuits are sure to be filed in the coming weeks over the Astroworld Fest tragedy -- but would-be plaintiffs could hit a legal snag over something on the Live Nation website.

We're talking about liability here ... and whether Live Nation -- the promoter of Travis Scott's event -- is on the hook for it or not as plaintiffs rush to court to file claims against them and others.

110621_astroworld_cpr_kal_v2 11/5/21
PROVIDING CRITICAL CARE

On its face, LN may have an out on that front -- or at least a partial one, anyway -- due to a standard form they made everyone agree to before purchasing tickets from the Live Nation site ... It's the limitation of liability waiver most folks don't read ... but always have to accept.

We did some research, and as it turns out ... an ironclad liability waiver in Texas would almost certainly provide cover for basic negligence -- something we know for a fact concertgoers are alleging against LN in the suits we've seen thus far.

The online waiver reads in part, "You voluntarily assume all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring before, during or after the event, and you waive any claims for personal injury or death against us."

What it doesn't provide is protection against gross negligence, among other claims, which may well be brought forth in court as well.

With that said ... you'd think Live Nation might be in the clear here -- at least on the negligence front -- but not so fast. TMZ took a good hard look at the liability waiver, and it's quite possible they screwed themselves ... and might still be exposed.

Not to bog you down in legal mumbo jumbo -- but in Texas, in order for a liability waiver to be enforced to protect against negligence, there are a few things that must be met first.

110621_astroworld_ambulance_kal 11/5/21
NAVIGATING THROUGH THE CROWD

The company has to feature clear language -- that your average Joe would understand -- directly addressing negligence in their waiver ... and from our check, Live Nation's Texas waiver does NOT seem to do this at all. Plus, the waiver itself is buried on their site -- which is another benchmark waivers have to clear ... ya gotta have it prominently displayed. In fact, there are clearly people who bought tickets without ever going to the website.

So, basically ... because Live Nation's liability waiver does not seem air-tight, it is NOT a foregone conclusion LN can wiggle out of liability in these mounting lawsuits.

Obviously, this stuff is going to be sorted out in front of a judge -- but if LN automatically thinks their liability waiver is gonna save them ... they could be sorely mistaken.

Kobe Bryant's Wife, Vanessa Files Trademarks For 'Mamba Vino' ... Getting In Wine Biz

Published | Updated

Kobe Bryant's legacy could be entering the wine industry -- Vanessa Bryant just filed four new trademark applications for a wine named after the late NBA Hall of Famer.

TMZ Sports has confirmed ... Vanessa submitted docs on Nov. 5 to secure trademarks that indicate her aspirations to enter the wine business ... with "Mamba Vino," "Mamba Vino 2024," "Mamba Vino 8," and "Mamba Vino 24" among the phrases listed, as first reported by Josh Gerben.

Kobe Bryant, LLC -- which is run by Vanessa -- is listed as the applicant on the filing ... with Bryant signing off on all the paperwork.

This move is the latest in a series of business moves by Vanessa ... as we previously reported, last month she filed a trademark for digital collectible items, websites, training camps, broadcasting platforms, podcasts, TV shows, movies, documentaries and music ... as well as sports cards, food/drink containers and t-shirts.

All four new trademark names include one of Kobe's many nicknames, "vino" ... 'cause many people thought his game got better with age.

The names also pay tribute to the numbers Kobe wore -- 8 and 24 -- of course, both numbers are retired by the Lakers and hang in the rafters at the Staples Center.

Vanessa would be joining a growing industry ... a long list of former athletes such as Drew Bledsoe, Yao Ming, Jeff Gordon, Wayne Gretzky, and Terrell Owens all occupy space in the wine biz ... but like all things Kobe, we're certain this stuff could fly off the shelves.

Aaron Rodgers NFL Fines Him $14k For COVID Violation Packers Docked $300,000

Published | Updated

Aaron Rodgers just got fined by the National Football League for violating the league's COVID-19 protocols ... and the Green Bay Packers also got dinged.

The NFL fined Rodgers a measly $14,650 for attending a Halloween party with other Packers while he was unvaccinated. The protocols prohibit unvaxxed players from going to large gatherings outside team facilities.

Packers receiver Allen Lazard, who is also unvaccinated, was also docked $14,650 for attending the team-sanctioned Halloween bash.

The big fine came for the Packers ... the franchise was hit with a $300,000 penalty for not enforcing the rules with Rodgers and Lazard, including a failure to wear face coverings inside team facilities.

WHAT FEELS RIGHT FOR ME

As we reported ... Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 last Wednesday, later admitting he was not vaccinated.

The star QB claimed he was allergic to something in the Pfizer and Moderna shots ... and didn't want to take the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, saying he feared adverse side effects.

On Friday, AR told Pat McAfee he took Ivermectin -- among other treatments -- after conferring with friend Joe Rogan.

Rodgers missed last Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, a game his team lost. The future Hall of Famer will likely have a chance to return to the field this weekend.

Don't feel too bad for Aaron ... he can afford the fine. He's in the 2nd year of a 4-year deal worth $134 million.

Folks were lined up outside the Fendi store Tuesday when things got superheated, with accusations of payoffs being thrown around. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed, but remember ... NO cuts, sis!!!

Kim Kardashian's SKIMS brand is joining forces with Fendi for a fashion collab, and their collection is in HIGH demand ... pulling in a quick 7-figures in just one minute!

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... Kim just launched her SKIMS collab with Fendi online this morning, and in the opening minute, the fashion combo racked up $1 million in sales.

We're told everything in the collection is already essentially sold out ... and the early numbers are putting this on track to be the biggest launch day in the short history of Kim's brand.

Items in the collection ranged from $100 to $4,200 ... including the $4,200 leather dress Kim wore earlier this month for the Wall Street Journal Magazine's 2021 Innovator Awards, where she received an honor for her SKIMS line. We're told the dress has sold out.

Sounds like the pent-up demand lived up to the hype ... we're told more than 300,000 people signed up to be on the waitlist ahead of the launch.

Astroworld Venue Has $26 Million Liability Insurance Policy ... Not Close to Covering Potential Judgments

Published | Updated

NRG Park -- the venue that hosted the calamitous Astroworld festival -- has an insurance policy totaling $26 million ... nowhere near what the injured and families of the dead will be seeking.

TMZ has obtained the Certificate of Liability Insurance ... a document that was filed with the City of Houston. Proof of insurance is required for such events.

The policy provides for $1 million in primary coverage with a $25 million umbrella. With 8 dead and more than 300 injured, damages could go into the hundreds of millions of dollars.

If the policy doesn't cover the judgments, then NRG would be responsible for anything above the policy limit.

Now it's possible NRG has additional coverage, but there's no evidence of that from the documents.

110721_woman_dropped_kal 11/5/21
DROPPED BY POLICE

We do not know what insurance policies are carried by Live Nation or Travis Scott, although it's certain they have some coverage. But, whatever it is, when you total all of it together, it's unlikely it will cover the enormous judgments that could be coming their way. If the injured and the families of the dead get judgments, the policies will cover them as far as the money goes, but once the limit is reached Travis and the various companies would be personally on the hook for the balance.

PLEAS FROM THE CROWD

It's not that the policies were not written properly, because no one could have anticipated the scope of the disaster.

The lawsuits are already piling up, so these policies could mean the difference between the various defendants being shielded from personal liability ... and bankruptcy.

Logan Paul See Ya Later, L.A.!!! Lists Encino Estate for $9M

Published | Updated

It appears Logan Paul truly is leaving Los Angeles and heading Puerto Rico for good, cuz he just listed his estate outside the city.

Paul's Encino estate hit the market Tuesday at $8,995,000 ... the staging photos are impressive complete with a closet stocked with shopping bags from Hermes and a garage with a beautiful Rolls-Royce.

While the Rolls might not be Logans -- the massive yard, swimming pool, wine cellar and billiard room certainly were -- and whoever buys the home will be able to spread out in 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and 7,667-sq-feet of living space.

Logan has put plenty of work into the home, but will still likely make a profit considering he bought in 2017 for $6.6 million.

Paul has been very vocal in the last couple years about his desire to move to Puerto Rico for financial reasons ... and unloading his house is a major step to doing just that.

"Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles" stars Josh and Matt Altman of Douglas Elliman are the listing agents. We reached out to them for comment ... so far, no word back.
