YG's party following his Coachella performance was busted up when someone opened fire outside the event -- causing a panic, just 2 weeks after his friend Nipsey Hussle's murder.

Hours after the rapper left the Coachella stage Sunday night, his after-party was going down at a nearby equestrian center. Our law enforcement sources say they got a call around 2 AM Monday morning for shots fired.

Witnesses told cops someone driving past the bash fired multiple shots -- however, once on the scene, cops found no victims and no evidence of the shooting.

The parking lot was crawling with cops who had to shut down the party while they investigated. We're told they have no suspects.

As you'd imagine, guests were on edge because the reported shots came so closely on the heels of Nipsey's shooting. YG -- who spoke at Nip's Staples Center memorial service -- paid tribute to his friend again during his Coachella gig.

'NSYNC already hit the stage with Ariana Grande, and that can only mean one thing ... Weekend 1 of Coachella is over ... but before you hang up your flower crowns and heart-shaped sunglasses, ya gotta see which celebs were in the crazy crowds.

Before Drake owned mansions in Toronto and L.A., a young Aubrey Graham wrote notes to his mother promising to clean his room ... and now you can buy pieces of his childhood for several thousand bucks.

A page ripped out of Drizzy's old lyrics notebook is going up for sale through the memorabilia company, Moments in Time -- and they're hawking Drake's handwritten note to his mom, and an early bio he wrote for himself, for $7,500.

The note to his mom is super cute ... Drake promises to clean his room when he comes home, and someone wrote back, "In order to receive 8:15 am rides this week -- room must be clean + bathroom must be clean AS PROMISED FRI JAN. 18th!!!"

Maybe that's why Drake famously rapped, "livin' at my momma's house, we'd argue every month."

On the back of the note is a bio Drake created on his own ... and it sheds some light into how a young Champagne Papi dreamed of making it big. He lists his music influences, hobbies and talents -- with a special shout-out to his pops.

The extremely personal page is from Drake's old rhyme book, which was found in a dumpster near his grandpa's old furniture factory in Toronto, where Drizzy used to work.

Idris Elba -- aka DJ Big Driis -- showed off his turntable skills at Coachella Saturday night ... and people were definitely interested in witnessing it firsthand.

The British actor headlined a set during Day 2 of the festival, coming onstage under the Yuma tent around 9 PM in front of what appeared to be a packed house of spectators.

In this up-close footage, obtained by TMZ, you can see just how far back the crowd went, and just how into the music they were. We're told Idris mostly stuck to house music during his two-hour show. He didn't bring any special guests out as far as we know -- but he really didn't need to ... the crowd was all in on his vibe. And, besides, it's Idris-Freakin'-Elba.

It's funny -- Idris stars in a new Netflix film called "Turn Up Charlie," in which he plays a professional DJ-turned-nanny ... with hilarious results. Obviously, he was perfect for that role.

12:52 PM PT -- Mayor Buttigieg just formally announced that he's running for President of the United States down at an event in his city of South Bend, IN. In his opening speech, he touched on a few simple issues his platform will address, which he says can fit on a bumper sticker.

Check it out, he gets into the freedom pillar first ... and laid out what he believes the concept means for a modern-day America. Also, he kinda sounds like someone we've heard before on the campaign trail who went on to sit in the Oval. Any guesses?

He went on to say that he recognizes the "audacity" of running for POTUS as a "mid-western millennial mayor" in his mid-30s, but insisted there's no better time for someone like him to make a run at it than right now.

As Mayor Pete puts it, we're living in a time that compels us (and obviously him) to act, adding ... "That's why this time, it's not just about winning an election. It's about winning an era."

Mayor Pete Buttigieg loves to rock ... classic rock, specifically, and he doesn't just listen to it -- turns out the Democratic candidate for President can play some Jimi Hendrix.

The mayor of South Bend, IN, who's expected to officially announce his candidacy Sunday, stopped by our office and downloaded us on his favorite music. Seems he's got a thing for jam bands because he told us the Dave Matthews Band and Phish were his faves during high school and at Harvard.

He also told us his pops got him hooked on Creedence Clearwater Revival, and he's been revisiting those tunes lately. Now, we knew he played guitar growing up ... so we kinda put him on the spot by handing him a Gibson Les Paul.

Mayor Pete didn't disappoint as he started riffin' "Hey Joe" by Hendrix!

During his visit, the candidate, who is openly gay, also talked about the inevitable -- homophobic attacks on the campaign trail ... possibly from President Trump's camp.

R. Kelly's virtually getting smoked out by the feds in his own backyard as prosecutors frantically look to interview Kelly's associates in connection with their sex trafficking investigation.

Sources close to the case tell TMZ ... federal prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois this week contacted parties closely associated with Kelly. We're told there was a sense of urgency to the calls ... prosecutors wanted to speak to them ASAP.

As you know ... there are 2 separate U.S. Attorney probes into Kelly -- one by the Eastern District of NY and another by the Southern District. Our sources tell us the Northern District of Illinois' investigation is unrelated to either of those other cases. This appears to be a third and entirely separate case that Illinois is building against Kelly.

Either way, it's bad news for him ... the feds are now in Kelly's own backyard looking into the singer. BTW ... Homeland Security is also looking into possible human trafficking ... so things are really piling on for Kelly.

Coachella may have seen better days in years past, but a bunch of celebs still made the best of it.

We got these clips of Bruce at The Apollo Theater last week, where he and lots of celebs showed up to salute the Jazz Foundation of America ... and ya gotta see Bruce bring the house down!!!

Bruce was one of the last acts to perform, and you see him showing off his pipes and playing the hell out of the harmonica during a 5-minute solo set with the jazz band, Sweet Georgia Brown. The song he's singing is his very own, "Devil Woman."

Other celebs joining Bruce at the event include Common, Keegan-Michael Key, Danny Glover, Patti Smith, Tony Bennett, Quincy Jones and Bettye LaVette.

Leonardo DiCaprio is back in the desert for another year of Coachella -- and it looks like he's there with his latest boo thang ... who was apparently being a very good girl.

Leo was spotted late Friday night/early Saturday morning at the Poppy x Google Midnight Bloom after-party around 2:30 AM, where he was sporting his usual incognito getup ... a dark hoodie, a hat and sunglasses. It's really not even a disguise anymore, dude.

Anyway, the shindig drew a number of celebs ... we're told folks like Paris Hilton, Nick Young, Trae Young and even Cuba Gooding Jr. were there. And, of course, Leo and who we believe might be his 21-year-old Argentinian model (ex-?) flame, Camila Morrone.

In this video, obtained by TMZ, you see him stand up at one point and pet the girl who was sitting next to him ... right on the noggin. It's unclear if this is Camila, or some other chick he's cozied up with since ... but he's obviously comfortable enough to do a head pat.

Leo and Camila haven't been seen together in public since at least November of last year -- which seemed to cap off a whirlwind 2018 romance that also placed them at Coachella.

She got pretty handsy with him during a day party hosted by none than his former ex, Rihanna. And, the next day ... he returned the favor by clinging on to her for dear life.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg isn't fooling himself ... Donald Trump will target him with homophobic remarks as the 2020 Presidential campaign heats up.

The openly gay South Bend Mayor, who has soared in popularity, will appear on "TMZ Live" Monday ... the day after he formally announces his bid to make a move to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Buttigieg has a plan if Trump goes low ... confront and disengage.

The Mayor will tackle a variety of issues on "TMZ Live", from courting voters who may have predisposed views of gays, to the consequences people should face if they cheat to get their kids into college.

And, hint ... he plays a respectable guitar!!!

Buttigieg is expected to make a formal announcement he's running on Sunday.

Britney Spears is in her boyfriend's thoughts as she receives mental health treatment -- and it looks like he misses her smooches.

Sam Asghari posted a PDA-filled montage of him and Brit Saturday for International Kissing Day. As you might imagine, they pucker up quite a bit in the extended clip.

There's a lot of sweet moments here -- Sam and Britney working out together, being silly on camera, and even dancing ... which ends, of course, with a peck on her cheek.

It's clear Sam is thinking about Britney -- who he's been dating since at least 2016 -- as she receives treatment for her mental health ... especially since she isn't with him at the moment.

TMZ broke the story ... Britney checked herself in to a live-in facility at the end of March because she was incredibly distraught over her father's ongoing ailments after multiple procedures. She'll be staying there until the end of this month.

Britney's dad, Jamie Spears, underwent 2 surgeries to deal with issues related to his intestines and colon. Britney's been caring for him while he's on the mend ... she even canceled her new Vegas residency because of it. At the time, she apologized to her fans in explaining the decision.

Nipsey Hussle's gravesite looks like a floral garden the day after he was laid to rest by family and friends.

TMZ got these shots of Nip's burial grounds the morning after his funeral Friday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills.

It's clear ... loved ones left him with something to admire from up above. You can see a number of flower arrangements, as well as some sentimental items like a magazine cover he was featured on and a banner sporting his name.

As we reported ... Lauren London and a number of close family members flocked to the cemetery Friday afternoon to pay their respects one final time as they put the L.A. legend's casket six feet deep in what appears to be a closed-off, private burial plot.

Friday's gathering marked the end of an emotional two weeks for Nipsey's family, who had just celebrated the man's life at a massive memorial service Thursday at STAPLES Center in DTLA. Lauren shared some words about her late soulmate, and we can only imagine she had some final words for him on Friday as well.

We broke the story ... Nipsey was shot and killed nearly two weeks ago tomorrow in front of his Marathon Clothing store in the Crenshaw District of South L.A. The alleged shooter has been charged with murder ... to which he pled not guilty last week.

Cardi B and Selena Gomez weren't the headliners Friday at Coachella, but you coulda fooled the crowd.

DJ Snake was performing on Day 1 and about an hour in Cardi B appeared followed by Selena.

BTW ... Selena hasn't performed for a year -- the last time we saw her onstage was when she joined Taylor Swift in May 2018 during her Reputation tour. Selena skipped Coachella last year. During the 2017 Festival, she made her relationship with The Weeknd public ... now her ex.

Cardi and Selena only performed one song -- "Taki Taki" ... the 2018 song they recorded with DJ Snake. Nevertheless, it was the highlight of the night.

Half the fun -- maybe more -- is outside the music venues ... by day and by night.

Nipsey Hussle was caught between enormous success and love for his neighborhood, like many other rappers, and that ultimately cost him his life -- at least, in Suge Knight's eyes.

Knight tells TMZ ... he fully understands the situation Nipsey was in, "A lot of artists like Nipsey have the same problem that I had. We are too loyal to our neighborhood." He says, even though you have enough money to move, you want to stay on the block because "when you go around Hollywood it's all watered down."

The former Death Row Records mogul -- who is currently serving his sentence in a California prison -- says he loved to go back to his hood to "get chili cheese fries and strawberries and talk to my lil homies." However, he adds, when you do that you need those homies to "help you survive."

Knight's insinuation is clear -- and controversial -- that the people closest to Nipsey could have done more to keep him safe.

As you know, Nip was murdered outside his Marathon Clothing store. Police believe Eric Holder pulled the trigger ... allegedly after feeling Nipsey had disrespected him by calling him a snitch.

The tragedy reminds Suge of Tupac Shakur -- not only because of the way they died but also how they lived. Knight says, "I feel that Nipsey was trying to follow the same Tupac manual to the community. He came together with YG like Snoop did with Tupac."

Ultimately, he thinks Nipsey's legacy can be unity, something that hasn't happened in L.A. since the early 90s. Referring to the L.A. gangs' peace march that went down 5 days after the murder ... Suge told us, "What's good is that all the hoods getting together now ... we can be stronger considering what happens when we come together."
