Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz Score $179 Million from FOX ... In Battle Over 'Bones'!!!

Published | Updated

The stars of "Bones" -- Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz -- have millions upon millions UPON MILLIONS of reasons to smile Wednesday morning after winning a massive lawsuit against FOX over their now-canceled show.

Emily, David as well as the show's executive producer and writer were awarded $178,695,778.90 in the case ... which was essentially about their backend payments for the show's distribution on multiple platforms, including Hulu.

The case went to arbitration and did NOT go well for FOX. In fact, the arbitrator came down hard on the network for out-and-out lying and covering up financial details of the deal ... hammering them with $128 million in punitive damages.

Emily reacted to the victory, saying, "We are so proud of the hard work we did on Bones for 12 seasons and only ever wanted Fox to live up to its promises and contractual obligations."

David added, "It's clear that what we were saying all along was true: we were owed additional compensation for our work. Now I can only hope that Fox is made to settle its obligations to us without further delay."

For the record, FOX isn't taking the loss lightly telling TMZ ... "The ruling by this private arbitrator is categorically wrong on the merits and exceeded his arbitration powers. Fox will not allow this flagrant injustice, riddled with errors and gratuitous character attacks, to stand and will vigorously challenge the ruling in a court of law.”

Bottom line ... the network's already filed a motion to overturn all of the punitive damages.

Attorney John Berlinski repped Emily, David and writer. Kathy Reichs ... and he says, "As [the arbitrator] said, the facts are clear -- as is the extent of Fox's duplicity. What we have exposed in this case is going to profoundly change the way Hollywood does business for many years to come."

Berlinkski added, "Fox needs to -- at long last -- do the right thing and pay them what they are owed."

Michael Cohen Arrives at Capitol ... What's on Your Playlist?

CALM BEFORE THE STORM

12:53 PM PT -- The Trump Campaign spokesperson, Kayleigh McEnany, has issued a statement about Cohen's testimony, stating, "Michael Cohen is a felon, a disbarred lawyer, and a convicted perjurer, who lied to both Congress and the Special Counsel in a 'deliberate and premeditated' fashion according to the Special Counsel's Office. Now he offers what he says is evidence, but the only support for that is his own testimony, which has proven before to be worthless."

She continued, "Prosecutors said his actions were to ensure that he would 'profit personally, build his own power, and enhance his level of influence.' This is the same Michael Cohen who has admitted that he lied to Congress previously. Why did they even bother to swear him in this time?"

We got Michael Cohen arriving at the United States Capitol as he prepares to testify before Congress about the misdeeds of Donald Trump.

Our photog notices Cohen seemed calm. The photog knew he wasn't going to get a preview of the testimony, so instead, he asked what music Cohen listened to in preparation for the big day.

Cohen will say some shocking things about Donald Trump when he testifies at 10 AM ET before the House Oversight Committee. He calls Trump a racist, a conman and a cheat.

Among the things he'll say ... "He once asked me if I could name a country run by a black person that wasn't a 'shithole.' This was when Barack Obama was President of the United States."

He adds, "While we were once driving through a struggling neighborhood in Chicago, he commented that only black people could live that way. And, he told me that black people would never vote for him because they were too stupid."

He will also submit letters he says he wrote at Trump's direction, threatening high schools and colleges not to release his grades or SAT scores.

And, Cohen will submit a check that Trump wrote to him for $35,000 as re-payment for the Stormy Daniels hush money payment.

Cohen also says he lied to Melania about his affair with Stormy -- at Trump's behest -- and says it's one of his biggest regrets.

TMZ broke the story ... Safaree was held at gunpoint in April 2018 and robbed of more than $180k in cash and jewelry. The men had allegedly been tracking him for some time before it all went down in a parking garage. What's worse, one of the alleged thieves is someone Safaree knew very well.

If convicted they're facing a possible maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

R. Kelly Joycelyn's Fam Plan Trump Tower Confrontation

Published | Updated

R. Kelly could soon come face-to-face with the family of one his alleged "sex slaves" at Chicago's Trump Tower -- but only if they can get a posse of law enforcement to watch their backs.

Gerald Griggs -- an attorney who reps Joycelyn Savage's family -- tells TMZ he and the family are actively working with prosecutors in Illinois to conduct a new welfare check on Joycelyn at Kelly's Trump Tower pad.

Griggs says the Savages believe Joycelyn is living there, too, along with Azriel Clary. Both women were at R. Kelly's court hearing over the weekend, supporting him.

Griggs says Chicago PD conducted a welfare check in January, but he doesn't trust they did a thorough job. He says the fam wants one done when they can be there to witness it.

The Savages ultimate goal hasn't changed -- they're hoping they can somehow get through to Joycelyn and convince her to leave Kelly.

However, they're also afraid for their own safety, because they say R. Kelly's associates have threatened them. For that reason, Griggs says they're requesting assistance from the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. Basically, they want backup as protection from Kelly's people.

It's unclear if Cook County will oblige. We've got a call in, but no word back yet.

As for R. Kelly, his attorney, Steven Greenberg, tells us ... "Police in Chicago and Atlanta have both done wellness checks. Plus she has been in court. Now this attorney is a psychiatrist. Gimme a break."

Pacman Jones Arrested at Casino Allegedly Cheated at Table Game

Published | Updated

8:03 AM PT -- A spokesperson for the Indiana Gaming Commission tells TMZ Sports ... officials were called to investigate Jones for possible cheating at a table game.

When they responded, Jones became verbally combative and disorderly and was placed under arrest.

More trouble for Pacman Jones ... this time the NFL star has been arrested at a casino in Indiana -- and it seems like a carbon copy of a 2015 incident.

Officials confirm the 35-year-old was arrested at the Rising Star Casino early Wednesday morning for disorderly conduct, resisting law enforcement, public intoxication and intimidation.

He was booked into the local jail around 3 AM. We've got the mug shot and we're continuing to work on details. He's still being held in jail with no bond.

Back in 2015, Jones was escorted out of the Hollywood Casino in Indiana after getting into it with a casino employee. Security got involved and called police, and Jones was removed from the building.

TMZ Sports obtained footage from the 2015 incident showing police walking Jones off the property. You can hear him say in the video, "Where I'm from, if I ain't threatening you, if I ain't do s**t to you, then I ain't disorderly conduct."

Prosecutors ultimately decided NOT to move forward with charges in that incident.

GETTING KICKED OUT OF CASINO

Jones was arrested again in 2017 -- when cops say he got violent at a Hyatt hotel and then spit on a jail staffer. Cops released footage from that arrest which showed Pacman telling an officer to "suck my d*ck" and "I hope you die."

In 2013, he struck a woman in a nightclub incident (he was found not guilty).

In 2011, he was arrested for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and resisting arrest.

He was also arrested in 2005 ... and 2006.

Pacman was also attacked in 2018 -- when a person who worked at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta confronted the NFL player in front of his wife.

Pacman knocked the dude out cold in a brawl captured on video.

Jones has reportedly made close to $40 million during his NFL career.

Jim Boeheim Wasn't Speeding In Fatal Crash ... Case to Be Closed

Published | Updated

Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim was NOT speeding on the night he hit a man (who later died) on a New York highway ... this according to officials who say it's highly unlikely Boeheim will be prosecuted.

As we previously reported, the 74-year-old coach was driving home after a game at the Carrier Dome last Wednesday night and struck a man who was standing on highway I-690. The man died as a result of his injuries.

Cops administered a field sobriety test on Boeheim but determined he was completely sober and he was NOT arrested at the time. Officials conducted a more thorough investigation to find out if Jim was driving irresponsibly that night ... but law enforcement is now saying the guy did nothing wrong.

In fact, officials say an accident reconstruction shows Boeheim was NOT speeding at the time of the crash.

HE DID WHAT WAS EXPECTED

Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick told the AP that unless something comes out of left field, Boeheim will not face any charges.

Officials say the victim, 51-year-old Jorge Jimenez had been in an accident before the Boeheim crash -- and was walking on the highway in an effort to get help.

Boeheim says he saw the crash scene and was trying to drive cautiously, and that's when he accidentally struck Jimenez. Boeheim claims he simply didn't see the guy.

Boeheim addressed the accident last week ... saying he's "heartbroken that a member of our community died as the result of last night’s accident."

"Juli and I extend our deepest sympathies to the Jimenez family. Out of respect for those involved, I will not be providing further comment at this time."

Mike Bibby Fired as Basketball Coach ... Amid Sexual Assault Probe

Published | Updated

Ex-NBA player Mike Bibby has been relieved of his duties as head basketball coach at Shadow Mountain High School in Arizona while officials investigate allegations of sexual assault.

As we previously reported, the 40-year-old has been accused of forcefully rubbing his penis against a female teacher on school grounds during a 2017 incident.

The teacher claims Bibby grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into his car. She also claimed his breath reeked of alcohol and he made sexually charged comments.

The school and police launched investigations into the matter -- and now, a rep for the Paradise Valley Unified School District says Bibby will NOT coach the basketball team while those are ongoing.

"He is no longer eligible to volunteer as our coach pending the outcome of the investigations," a school district spokesperson said.

Bibby has been wildly successful as the coach at Shadow Mountain -- leading the varsity boys team to 5 state titles in 6 seasons.

As for the criminal investigation, a rep for the Phoenix Police Dept says, "As of now, the investigation is ongoing and no suspect has been named, nor any charges recommended."

Bibby -- the son of former NBA player and coach Henry Bibby -- attended Shadow Mountain back in the '90s before becoming a superstar at The University of Arizona in Tucson.

YNW Melly Murder Case Cops Say He Rode Around w/ Dead Bodies ... And Faked a Drive-By

Published | Updated

YNW Melly tried hatching an elaborate scheme to trick cops into thinking his buddies were killed by someone other than him and a pal -- at least, according to cops.

According to YNW's booking report out of Miramar, FL -- obtained by TMZ -- the rapper's friend, Cortlen Henry, drove to an ER in the wee hours of Oct. 26, asking for help for his two friends in his car, whom he claimed had been shot in a drive-by.

Cops say that the victims -- Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr. -- were pronounced dead at the hospital. They were both shot in the head, torso and back. Police say it was a grisly scene ... blood splattered about the car.

Cortlen told police he and his two pals had just wrapped a late night studio sesh, and as he was pulling off the freeway ... a car pulled up on his driver's side and opened fire. Cops confirm there were 8 bullet holes along the right side of the vehicle -- where Williams and Thomas sat. Cortlen escaped injury.

As police investigated Henry's account, they found forensic evidence leading them to believe he lied and was covering up a very different murder.

Cops say they found a shell casing inside the vehicle, along with 8 matching shell casings in a different location, where cops think YNW and Henry shot up the car to make it look like a drive-by.

Cops say the initial shot was fired from inside the vehicle -- not outside, as Henry claimed -- and originated from the left rear passenger side of the car, which is where they say they later discovered YNW had been sitting.

Police say surveillance footage from the recording studio shows YNW, Henry, Williams and Thomas getting in the car to leave. YNW got into the back left seat.

Cops say after Williams and Thomas were shot, YNW and Henry drove around with the dead bodies "for a period of time" before driving to the hospital. Henry later told police YNW was, in fact, in the same car with them ... but exited at some point and got in another car.

Something else that doesn't help YNW ... a documentary about his life and career, that cops say they watched ... which "glorifies his use and possession of firearms." Oh, and he's also got a song called "Murder On My Mind." It's dark stuff.

YNW and Henry have been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Ty Dolla $ign Prosecutors Will Drop Drug Case ... If He's Clean for 13 Weeks

Published | Updated

Ty Dolla $ign's scored a huge win in his Georgia drug possession case -- his record will be wiped clean, IF he keeps his nose clean for the next few months.

According to court docs obtained by TMZ, Atlanta prosecutors struck a deal last week with the rapper: he'll enter an online drug prevention program, and lay off weed and Rx drugs ... then all charges -- 2 felonies and a misdemeanor -- will vanish.

Georgia calls it the Second Chance program, and we're told it typically lasts 13 weeks. Ty will also be subject to random drug testing during the program.

You'll recall ... an Atlanta grand jury indicted Ty after cops busted him back in September, allegedly finding pot and cocaine in his bag.

Sources connected to the case tell us the deal was struck after Ty's attorney, Steve Sadow, met with prosecutors to point out weaknesses in the case.

Based on the end result, it appears that's mission accomplished.

DIVINE JUDGMENT

Kathie Lee Gifford isn't about to weigh in on R. Kelly -- she's leaving that to a much higher power, but she firmly believes it's not too late for the embattled singer.

We got the "Today" host Tuesday in NYC, and asked if she thought there was any way for Kelly to redeem himself after the lurid allegations involving the 2 new sex tapes Michael Avenatti turned over to prosecutors. KLG immediately got biblical on us by suggesting Kelly seek redemption in God's eyes.

As you know, he's facing 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse.

Kathie Lee says the legal process will run its course but adds ... Kelly should only be thinking about ONE judge right now.

And, she's not referring to anyone in Chicago.

R. Kelly Woman Who Paid Bond Insists He's Not a Monster!!

Published | Updated

R. Kelly was bailed out by a woman who believes he's innocent -- at least for now -- and says she simply stepped up to the plate to help a friend in need.

Valencia P. Love is the Chicago businesswoman who reportedly covered the $100k bond Monday to secure Kelly's release, and she says, "There are three sides to every story, [Kelly's] side, there's (the alleged victims), and the truth."

That statement seems to acknowledge Kelly is being less than truthful, but Love also told Chicago's FOX32 ... "As a friend if he says he's innocent, I can only believe that he is innocent."

Love also insists Kelly is not a monster, and says there are much worse problems in Chicago -- like hundreds of Catholic priests being accused of sex abuse and a missing woman named Kierra Coles.

Valencia makes it clear she's not condoning any of the allegations, saying, "If he did it he is wrong" ... but believes Kelly should get the chance to clear his name.

As for the bond money, Love claims the $100k wasn't hers. She also refused to say who did put it up. She claims the singer is NOT hard up for cash, and she merely helped him get out a few days early.

I'M YB-INNOCENT

YBN Almighty Jay is turning himself in to cops who are investigating him for allegedly stealing another rapper's chain, Rolex and cash ... but he tells us 5-0's got the wrong guy.

We got the rapper Tuesday as he was about to walk in to LAPD -- a little more than a week after cops named him a suspect for felony grand theft. Still, he strongly denies he's the culprit ... telling us, repeatedly, "I didn't do s**t!"

We broke the story ... YBN was filming videos in Chatsworth, CA with another rapper, Skinnyfromthe9 ... when he and his crew allegedly ran off with tons of loot -- a $40k chain, $20k Rolex and $20k cash.

FOOTAGE OF THE INCIDENT

In surveillance footage of the incident, you see a couple men approach Skinny's Range Rover which YBN was standing next to, and after a struggle ... the men run away.

YBN admits it's him in the video, but insists he had nothing to do with jacking the cash and jewelry.

Law enforcement sources tell us Almighty Jay will be booked for grand theft. Probably a good thing he brought his lawyer with him.

R. Kelly Investigated for Criminal Failure to Pay Child Support

Published | Updated

10:58 AM PT -- R. Kelly's attorney, Steven Greenberg, tells TMZ, "In 30 years of practicing criminal defense law, I have never seen anyone prosecuted for non-payment of child support. Maybe it happens, but I've never seen it done in Illinois."

10:25 AM PT -- Drea Kelly's management team tells TMZ, "We are aware that they are bringing criminal charges for non-payment of child support and we support any and all efforts that will make sure that his children are taken care of."

R. Kelly's freedom may be short-lived because we've learned prosecutors in Chicago are looking at charging him with the CRIME of failing to pay child support.

Sources connected to the case tell TMZ, the State's Attorney is investigating the over $160k he owes ex-wife Drea Kelly. We're told Drea has been in touch with prosecutors who are now looking to charge R. Kelly with the offense of failure to support. Any amount over $20k can be filed as a felony.

If he's charged, he can be immediately arrested and will land right back in jail.

CHAOTIC RELEASE

As you know, the judge has ordered the singer to pay the $161,663 by March 6 or else he'll go back to jail. But, our sources say the State's Attorney does not want the singer out of custody and is now looking at accelerating things by filing a criminal case.

R. Kelly clearly had problems posting bond in the sex abuse case. He sat in jail for days until a friend posted the $100k.

R. Kelly Stopped Cook Co. Jail in its Tracks ... When He Got Visitors

Published | Updated

R. Kelly still has the star power to bring things to a screeching halt, 'cause he did exactly that on at least a couple of occasions this weekend while behind bars.

Sources tell TMZ that Cook County Jail became temporarily paralyzed twice between Saturday and Monday, while Kelly was incarcerated there after turning himself in Friday.

We're told the jail's guards were told twice -- once on Saturday and again on Monday -- to cease the other inmates' movements entirely while Kelly was being transported through the facility to meet visitors. Our sources say the visits lasted 15 minutes.

Think about that for a minute. Cook County jail houses roughly 6,100 inmates ... and all of them had to sit tight whenever R. Kelly was on the move. We're told jail officials are ecstatic he's gone, 'cause it's a pain to do that for one inmate.

022519_r_kelly_kal
CHAOTIC RELEASE

A Cook County Jail spokesperson made no bones about it ... telling us Kelly's celebrity status is absolutely the reason for the temporary jail freeze. Officials didn't want the other inmates causing a fuss as the singer was taken from one division of the jail to another.

No surprise then that our sources say Kelly was isolated from general pop while he was locked up.

David Caruso Sued I Lied for Him, Then He Sexually Harassed Me ... Caruso Calls BS!!!

Published | Updated

David Caruso's ex-assistant says she went to the mat for him -- lying under oath -- and then he failed to hold up his end of the bargain, and exposed her to various forms of sexual harassment ... but Caruso says she's the one going back on her word.

The ex-assistant, who's suing as Jane Doe, says she agreed to make a false statement defending Caruso against a legal threat from another assistant. In exchange for lying to help him ... she claims Caruso offered to buy her a $250k house in Cuba, give her $200k to start her own biz and get her sister an apartment.

Doe claims she got almost none of the above ... but did get Caruso's penis on her shoulder. According to the suit, the former "CSI: Miami" star frequently made unwanted sexual contact -- brushing his hand or crotch against her butt, and on one occasion ... "stood behind [her] while she was seated and rubbed his penis against her shoulder."

While Doe, who says she's Hispanic, never got the house in Cuba, she accompanied him there on vacays she claims got pretty creepy. In the suit, she describes a December 2015 trip where Caruso was having sex with his GF in an adjoining room. She says he yelled out Doe's name, while telling the GF to ... "scream out loud that he was large like a burro."

Doe claims the next day Caruso bragged in front of her about his sexual prowess while his GF said, "No mas burro, no mas burro!!"

Caruso's ex-assistant also claims he regularly made racist comments about Jews, blacks, Latinos and gay people -- including saying his Guatemalan nannies had "brains the size of a walnut" and using the n-word.

According to the suit, all Doe got was $14k for an apartment and a leased car. She's suing him for wrongful termination, breaching their deal and fraud.

Caruso's attorney, Michael Weinsten at Lavely & Singer, tells us ... “My client vehemently denies the allegations of the complaint. This Jane Doe plaintiff gave sworn testimony in a prior matter that flatly contradicts what she is now alleging."

Weinsten adds, "In order to pursue this case, she will have to commit perjury and that will not stand. We will vigorously defend this lawsuit and are considering all available options and remedies.”

Mike Bibby Under Investigation for Alleged Sexual Abuse

Published | Updated

Ex-NBA star Mike Bibby -- the #2 overall pick in the 1998 draft -- is being investigated in Arizona after a high school teacher accused him of sexual abuse and harassment.

Bibby is adamant the allegations are false.

40-year-old Bibby is now the head basketball coach at Shadow Mountain High School -- where a female teacher at the school claims he forcefully rubbed his genitals against her during a 2017 incident.

According to official documents, the woman claims Bibby grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into his car while on school grounds -- and then proceeded to grind up on her.

The woman filed a request for a restraining order in February 2019 -- which a judge granted on Feb. 22, according to The Arizona Republic. It's unclear why she waited so long to go to authorities.

Bibby is being investigated by the Phoenix Police Dept. -- and the Paradise Valley School District has also launched an internal investigation.

Meanwhile, Bibby's attorney, Donald Harris, is confident the NBA player will be exonerated.

"I can say with pretty much certainty this alleged incident didn't happen and that will be shown down the road," Harris told the Arizona Republic.

"Michael Bibby did not participate in a sexual assault of any way, shape or form that was alleged by this lady two years ago."

Since the school was not formally made aware of the allegations until recently, Bibby has still been coaching at Shadow Mountain -- where he led the basketball team to its 4th consecutive state title over the weekend.

Bibby has been with the school for 6 years -- during which Shadow Mountain has racked up 5 state championships.

Bibby -- the son of former NBA player and coach Henry Bibby -- attended Shadow Mountain back in the '90s before becoming a superstar at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

After he was selected by the Vancouver Grizzlies in the '98 Draft, Bibby spent 14 seasons in the NBA -- playing for teams like the New York Knicks, Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks.

Though he never made an All-Star team, Bibby was a solid NBA player -- averaging 14.7 points a game, 5.5 assists and 3 rebounds.

After his NBA career, he played in the BIG3 -- captaining the Ghost Ballers squad.
