Barack, Michelle Obama Cheer On Novak Djokovic At US Open

Published | Updated

Barack and Michelle Obama cheered on Novak Djokovic from the front row of the tennis superstar's US Open match Monday night ... an interesting sight -- considering the trio couldn't have been more in disagreement over the COVID vaccine for the past few years.

No. 44 and his wife were spotted clapping after most of the Joker's points in his dominant win over Alexandre Muller at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.

The match marked the first time Djokovic was able to participate in the famous tournament since 2021 -- as he wasn't allowed to travel to the U.S. last year due to his unwillingness to get the COVID vax.

Of course, the Obamas have staunchly urged people to get the jab since it became available years ago -- even sharing videos of them receiving it back in 2021.

Seems all three were able to put their differences aside Monday night, however ... 'cause it was all smiles from each party throughout the evening.

Hours before Djokovic's big win, the Obamas took in Coco Gauff's match against Laura Siegemund ... and the U.S. star couldn't have been more thrilled about it.

Despite a frustrating match where she argued with officials over the way Siegemund was taking extended breaks between points ... Gauff said her whole mood changed when she got to meet with the Obamas afterward.

"I was like, 'Oh, my God,'" Gauff said, starstruck after their meetup. "I haven't soaked it in because I literally just walked in here. I think I'm going to never forget that moment for the rest of my life. I went from being really upset after a win to, like, being really happy."

She even said the two offered her advice -- and were proud of her for sticking up for herself during her match.

Bray Wyatt Died During Nap ... Wasn't Wearing Doctor-Recommended Heart Defibrillator

Published | Updated

WWE superstar Bray Wyatt experienced a series of heart complications in the months leading up to his death, and a doctor-recommended heart defibrillator was not with him when they found his body ... TMZ has learned.

According to law enforcement records, obtained by TMZ, Wyatt -- real name Windham Rotunda -- told his girlfriend he was going to take a nap Thursday, and she became concerned when she heard his alarm going off about an hour later without stopping.

The report says Windham was discovered in his bed, not breathing, and was turning blue. Windham's girlfriend called 911, as her mother attempted CPR ... but he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Cops spoke with Windham's immediate family members who said he had COVID in March 2023 and developed heart complications -- causing him to have a "weak lower part of his heart."

In fact, just a week before he died, Windham was hospitalized for a heart issue. He had a follow-up appointment with doctors the morning he died and was advised to continue to wear an external heart defibrillator -- a device designed to treat people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.

Though it's not known if the device would have saved his life, investigators determined Windham was not wearing the defib at the time of his death ... they later located it inside his vehicle parked in the driveway.

He was only 36.

BLOODY COLLISION

Pro cyclist Remco Evenepoel literally put his blood, sweat and maybe even some tears into his recent race ... 'cause the athlete was left gushing from the face after crashing into a woman in the crowd.

The scary incident happened on Monday ... after the Belgian star crossed the finish line to win stage three of La Vuelta a España.

In footage of the accident, the 23-year-old is shown zooming directly toward a large group of people after the race ... and a collision was inevitable.

Evenepoel couldn't slow down in enough time to prevent ramming into the crowd ... and despite a few fans jumping out of the way, he made direct contact with a female spectator.

Evenepoel suffered some damage as a result ... and the blood poured from his head as he got back up on his feet.

GOOD AS NEW

The good news is Evenepoel is okay ... and after cleaning up, the star cyclist went on his Instagram to send a message to the lady he accidentally ran into.

"I want to tell you all that I'm doing okay. I also hope that the woman involved in the accident/crash is also doing okay," Evenepoel said. "I want to thank all for the support."

FYI, this is Evenepoel's second consecutive first place finish at La Vuelta ... a race his Soudal-Quickstep team didn't want him to compete in this year.

"A first, I said it was preferable that he didn’t do the Tour of Spain," team manager Patrick Lefevere said. "But when I saw the level he achieved again and how keen he was, I could only follow his lead."

Remco -- whose father is former pro cyclist Patrick Evenepoel -- is one of the best in the sport ... and has won a ton of major championships and awards so far in his young career.

Heal up, Remco!!

ROUGH LANDING

A pro wrestler landed awkwardly on his neck during a match this weekend -- and to make matters worse, continued getting pummeled in the same area.

The athlete's stage name is Jack Cartwheel, and he was competing in the National Wrestling Alliances' NWA 75 event down in St. Louis on Sunday ... where he was battling Colby Corino for the promotion's World Junior Heavyweight Championship.

Everything seemed to be going just fine ... that is, until Jack stood up on the ropes in an attempted body slam -- which appears to have gone awry, based on the way he came down.

Ya gotta see the video, JC does what comes across like a back-half twist -- something a gymnast might do -- but he catches his feet on the turnbuckles and lands on his head and neck.

Jack appears stunned as he tries to get up from the mat, and his opponent then clotheslines his neck, and Jack again lands on his head.

Somehow, Jack's able to continue the match ... only for him to get driven into the mat again, landing once more on his neck and head.

Ouch.

Simone Biles is back to her dominating ways -- the gymnastics superstar won her record 8th U.S. Championship on Sunday ... two years after backing out of the Tokyo Olympics to focus on her mental health.

The 26-year-old became the oldest to win it all after a stellar performance throughout the weekend ... posting an all-around total score of 118.40 over the two-day event, four points ahead of runner-up Shilese Jones and seven above third-place finisher Leanne Wong.

Biles -- who won her first U.S. title a decade ago -- announced her comeback in June after taking time away from the sport ... and picked up right where she left off at the SAP Center in San Jose, scoring the highest results in the vault, beam and floor events.

While many assume Biles has her sights set on competing at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris ... she said she is keeping her future plans private.

"I like to keep (my goals) personal just so that I know what I am aiming for," she said at the competition. "I’m trying to move a little bit differently this year than I have in the past. So I think it’s working so far, so I’m gonna keep it a little bit secretive."

Of course, Biles faced heavy criticism for backing out of competition at the Tokyo Games ... with critics accusing her of bailing on her teammates.

LOOKIN' GOOD, DONALD!!!

President Joe Biden rubbed salt into Donald Trump’s wounds Friday, chuckling about his rival's now infamous mug shot while making a snarky remark.

JB poked fun at DT after he walked out of a Pilates class in South Tahoe, California, and answered a few questions from a gaggle of reporters waiting outside.

Biden was asked if he saw Trump’s booking photo and he started laughing, saying he caught the image on TV.

POTUS then mocked Trump, calling him a “handsome guy, wonderful guy.”

Some observers didn’t take kindly to Biden's remarks and booed him, showing the deep divide between voters and just how ugly our politics have become.

And Trump is in the middle of it with his myriad of legal woes stemming from the last presidential election. As you know, the 45th President has been indicted on state and federal charges in four jurisdictions around the country.

This past week, Trump posed for his historic mug shot at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia, where he stands accused of trying to subvert the results of the 2020 presidential election.

As Trump‘s world only gets harder, Biden seems to be enjoying his Pilates classes while on vacation in Tahoe. The two are expected to square off again in the 2024 presidential general election.

Published | Updated

Andy Taylor has been battling a deadly form of cancer for years, but he's done a complete 180 recently and now says he isn't showing symptoms of the disease.

The Duran Duran guitarist was interviewed Friday by The Times of London, revealing the amazing news about his favorable stage 4 prostate cancer prognosis.

Taylor gave all the credit for his miraculous recovery to scientist Christopher Evans, who used an innovative treatment to target his cancer cells with radioactive chemicals.

Taylor said, “I was classified as palliative, end-of-life care. Now I’m not; I’m asymptomatic.” He also referred to Evans as a genius, calling him "the Elon Musk of cancer.”

But, Taylor admits the process has been tough on him, saying he turns “radioactive for several days” and has gone through many psychological highs and lows during his long journey.

Six weeks after he was first diagnosed in 2018, Taylor hit rock bottom emotionally, thinking he was going to die.

He said, "You’re gonna have to say goodbye to your family. You’re not going to see your grandson’s 10th birthday. Psychologically it’s mind-blowing — you can’t have therapy to remove the certainty of death.”

A MESSAGE FROM ANDY

Taylor kept his disease private until Duran Duran was inducted in the 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and lead singer Simon Le Bon read a letter from him explaining his cancer fight during the band's acceptance speech.

Taylor says he's not out of the woods just yet ... he still has to go through a few more rounds of cancer treatments, but things are certainly on the right track.

Good luck, Andy!!

'Foodgod' Jonathan Cheban Takin' KBBQ Sauce Company To Court ... Glass Bottle Burst And Cut My Hand!

Published | Updated

Foodgod, AKA Jonathan Cheban, is taking a Korean BBQ sauce company to court ... claiming one of the glass bottles burst into shards, slicing his hand clean open.

According to the docs, obtained by TMZ, Jonathan says he bought a glass bottle of San-J’s Korean barbeque sauce from a grocery store in Florida in October 2020 -- putting it in his fridge at home -- and taking it out a few hours later while making dinner.

However, Jonathan, repped by attorney Levi McCathern, claims the bottle "inexplicably exploded" in his hand when he took it out of the fridge, with one of the big shards causing quite the gash on his hand ... allegedly causing "significant blood loss."

Jonathan says he has the pictures included in the lawsuit showing he never even opened the bottle before it burst -- insisting the twist cap's seal was still intact after his hand got sliced open.

He also says he had to get numerous stitches and suffered nerve damage and ongoing pain in his hand ... and he claims the cut was just inches from "major arteries in his wrist."

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Jonathan claims he's suffered losses like the "ability to use his hand in his social media posts, in his advertisements, and in his ability to sponsor various food items."

He's now suing the manufacturer of both the sauce and the bottle, as well as the distributor and the store he bought it from ... and is asking for a whopping $20 million for the big slice.

For what it's worth, pics from what would've been days after the alleged incident showed him in pretty great spirits ... dressing up as Joe Exotic with Kim Kardashian and her kiddos.

Seems like even a Foodgod can't avoid the dangers of cooking.
