Macaulay Culkin Here's Your 'Home Alone' Reboot ... Ya Filthy Animals!!!

Published | Updated

Macaulay Culkin's joining the chorus of fans roasting Disney for its plan to reboot the classic "Home Alone" franchise ... with a harsh and hilarious reality check.

The OG Kevin McCallister just shared a photo on his Instagram of himself looking bloated and disheveled in his undies ... sitting on an old couch, plate of food in hand, Chinese takeout strewn about and laptop on his lap.

Or, in his own words ... representing what an updated "Home Alone" would actually look like.

Macaulay's had a pretty good sense of humor about reprising his iconic Christmas movie role that launched him into superstardom way back in 1990 ... including this ad for Google this past holiday season.

Clearly, he couldn't resist another parody ... and even kept a touch of the holiday spirit with that snowman pillow in the background.

In case you missed it ... Disney's CEO Bob Iger announced Tuesday the company's plan to reboot several famous Fox franchises it recently acquired. Along with Culkin's smash hit, Iger says it's rebooting "Cheaper by the Dozen," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" and "Night at the Museum."

It was probably inevitable, but to many fans it's a terrible idea, and can best be described with the same word Kevin used for Buzz's girlfriend -- Woof!!!

'Them That Follow' Alice Englert Distraught Bird Dies in Her Hands on Camera

Published | Updated

"Them That Follow" -- the new thriller about scary snakes and a religious family that handles them to prove themselves to God -- had a tragedy on set when a bird died in the hands of one of the stars ... and the cameras were rolling.

Footage from the movie set -- obtained by TMZ -- shows actress Alice Englert with a quail in her hands right after the moment she realizes something is horribly wrong with the bird.

It sounds like Alice says, "Oh my god, this is so f****d" as she hands the bird to its handler ... and becomes increasingly distressed as she processes what happened.

Englert then asks, "Is it dead?" ... and begins to sob as she gets confirmation.

Producers from the movie have confirmed with TMZ the animal died, but tell us nobody knows why. They insist it was not mistreated or mishandled in any way.

The producers add ... "We hired top animal wranglers and working professionals in the business ... we take full responsibly and deeply regret this isolated incident."

We're told in the scene, Englert's character pretends to feed a quail to a snake. You see couple of snakes in cages just off to the right of Alice.

The bird wrangler on set tells TMZ, "We are ultimate professionals and care about each and every animal we handle. The overriding theme of our educational program is the importance of all animals. No one of the cast or crew did anything to affect this sad event."

We're told this scene was filmed in 2017 near Youngstown, Ohio. "Them That Follow" just came out in theaters Friday. Along with Englert, it stars Olivia Colman, Kaitlyn Dever, Walton Goggins and Jim Gaffigan.

'Ghostbusters' We Got a Call ... In Canada!!!

Published | Updated

There's something strange in this neighborhood ... because the iconic 'Ghostbusters' car just rolled up in Canada!!!

We've gotten our hands on some super cool pics from the set of the upcoming "Ghostbusters 2020" movie ... the famous Ghostbusters Ecto-1 car was spotted Thursday on the streets of Alberta, where filming is in full swing.

The new 'Ghostbusters' have been shooting scenes in the small town of Crossfield ... and our sources say most of the filming is going down at a school and a Chinese restaurant downtown. Never know where ghosts are gonna pop up!

Seems the 'Ghostbusters' have a great mechanic ... the Ecto-1 has been helping them investigate and capture ghosts since the first flick came out way back in 1984!

Paul Rudd, Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard and Carrie Coon are starring in the franchise's latest installment, which is a direct sequel to the OG movie and 1989's "Ghostbusters II." We know what your're thinking, and it's a no. No Bill Murray sightings yet, as he's rumored to make a return.

We're told filming in Crossfield is getting set to wrap ... so the Ecto-1 will be on the move again. Be on the lookout!

'Shawshank Redemption' Oak Tree Keeps Giving ... 25th Anniversary Gifts for Actors

Published
Shawshank Oak Tree
PAYING HOMAGE

The story arc of the famous oak tree from "The Shawshank Redemption" is complete ... it's now being used to honor the actors for the 25th anniversary of the 1994 classic.

TMZ's learned some of what's left of the movie tree -- which as we've told you, was cut down in 2016 after falling victim to severe storm damage -- has been turned into gift plaques to present to the stars of the film ... including Tim Robbins, who played Andy, Morgan Freeman, who played Red, and director Frank Darabont.

The plaques feature a photo of the actor's character engraved into the wood along with a notable quote. For instance, here's a closeup of Warden Norton actor Bob Gunton's plaque ... with the line, "Put your trust in the Lord, your ass belongs to me!"

The actors will get their gifts later this month as they all reunite at the 25th anniversary event in Ohio, which includes the Shawshank Hustle 7k on August 17 at the Ohio State Reformatory, where the movie was filmed.

Along with the big stars, 'Shawshank' alums Mark Rolston, Gil Bellows, Neil Giuntoli, Frank Medrano, Alfonso Freeman, Renee Blaine, Scott Mann and Claire Slemmer will be in attendance.

We broke the story ... the tree's been transformed into several different collector's items and 25th anniversary souvenirs already, along with being made into a bougie table for one superfan.

For those who are at least 24 years late ... the tree is where Andy left his note for Red before hightailing it South of the border. Good stuff.

Sharon Tate Tourists Flocking to Murder Scene ... 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' Fever

Published

The home where Sharon Tate and 4 others were murdered is attracting gawkers at all hours of the day and night ... and it's all because of Quentin Tarantino's new flick.

Folks have been flocking to Cielo Drive in West L.A. in the wake of the release of "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," pulling up in the middle of the night and hanging out near the location where a very pregnant Sharon was brutally murdered in 1969 by Manson Family members ... this according to one of the neighbors, David Oman.

Most Cielo Drive homeowners aren't eager talk about anything Manson, but David has a particular interest. He claims there's lots of paranormal activity at his home and it's all because of the savagery that took place up the block. His house has even been featured on shows like "Ghost Hunters" and "Haunted History."

Ever since David moved to the neighborhood 20 years ago ... he says a bunch of weird stuff has been going on -- items knocked off shelves, spirits speaking to him and even physical contact. He's known to hold seances in his home.

David's been talking to the sightseers and they all say Tarantino's film piqued their interest.

It's pretty crazy ... sometimes there's a caravan of cars lined up to catch a glimpse of the home, which ironically isn't even there anymore. It was torn down in 1994, and a new McMansion has taken it's place.

The wave of tourists won't stop anytime soon ... next weekend's the 50th anniversary of Sharon's murder.

Cameron Boyce's BFF China Anne McClain Gets Emotional ... 'No Idea' He Had Epilepsy

Published | Updated

"Descendants 3" star China Anne McClain grew up with her costar and BFF Cameron Boyce, and says his death hit her like a ton of bricks, because almost no one knew he was suffering from epilepsy.

China was on "TMZ Live" Friday to talk about Cameron and Friday's Disney Channel debut of his final movie, 'D3.' She says the premiere comes with mixed emotions on the heels of her dear friend passing. It was obvious she's still processing the loss.

She says only Cameron's family knew about his condition, and despite the fact she knew him for 10 years -- and starred in 4 movies with him -- she had "no idea."

She broke down as she explained how the simplest things remind her of Cam and sometimes send her on a roller coaster of emotions. China says she's even caught herself picking up the phone to text Cameron.

She says she still hasn't seen "Descendants 3," and confesses she's not sure she'll be able to make it through the whole thing when she finally does watch.

As we reported ... Disney canceled a red carpet event in Cameron's honor after he died last month in his sleep. The studio also made a donation to the Thirst Project ... a nonprofit close to Cameron.

China reminded us his family's launched the Cameron Boyce Foundation.

Michael Blackson
OFFER I CAN'T REFUSE

Michael Blackson got his wish ... he says Eddie Murphy's offering him a role in the "Coming to America" sequel ... and you already know Michael is ready to jump right in!!!

We got Michael on the Sunset Strip and he had some career-changing news to share ... telling us he finally got the formal offer he was dying to get.

The comedian could barely contain his excitement ... he's been dreaming about this day ever since Eddie told us back in April he thought Blackson was funny, and wanted to bring him on board.

Akon should be getting a big thank you from Michael. Remember, he got the wheels in motion when he sent Eddie a message -- through our camera guy -- telling him to cast real Africans this time.

Michael, who's from Ghana, says the opportunity means the world to him ... and he's also got some words of encouragement for all aspiring actors from Africa. Good stuff all around.

The new gig hasn't sunk in yet though, but he told us when it really will.

It's a great clip, and MB tops it off with an hilarious response about another blockbuster sequel, and his possible role as the villain who takes down ... Black Panther!!!

Jason Momoa Joins Hawaiian Telescope Protests ... 'We Are Not Going Anywhere!!!'

Published

Jason Momoa stood tall, proud, intimidating and determined to NOT allow any construction to happen atop Hawaii's tallest mountain.

The "Aquaman" star joined thousands Wednesday on their 17th day of blocking a road that leads construction crews to Mauna Kea's summit ... where crews plan to build a 30-meter telescope. Jason was flanked by his children ... son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, and daughter, Lola Momoa, both of whom were wrapped in native flags.

Jason -- who was born in Hawaii -- wore a crown and green leaf lei around his neck. He told the crowd he was honored to be there and followed with, "We are not going anywhere," which drew a roaring ovation.

As we reported ... Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson joined the group last week and said, "It's bigger than a telescope. It's humanity. It's culture." Native Hawaiian groups, of course, are worried the construction site will damage land they consider sacred. The astronomers behind the Thirty Meter Telescope want to put it on Mauna Kea's summit because it has the best conditions in the Northern Hemisphere.

Damian Marley was also there over the weekend ... singing his famous dad's classics while reminding the masses they're doing important work.

Cameron Boyce Cause of Death Officially Ruled Epilepsy

Published | Updated

Cameron Boyce suffered a sudden, unexpected death due to epilepsy ... according to the Medical Examiner, confirming what we already knew about the young Disney superstar.

The L.A. County M.E.'s report also says Cameron did not have any drugs or alcohol in his system ... except for Keppra -- which is an epilepsy medication.

We broke the story ... Cameron's offical cause of death was deferred on his death certificate until the medical examiner's office could complete its investigation. The report says the 20-year-old developed non-traumatic epilepsy about 3 years ago ... and had "several major seizures" over the years.

As we told you, despite suffering epileptic seizures for a long time ... Cameron was able to achieve great acting success in both TV and in movies. The M.E.'s report says his seizures typically occurred months apart.

Boyce suffered the fatal seizure on July 6 and died in his sleep. Our sources told us his roommate found him unresponsive, and when paramedics arrived they could not revive him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cameron's death led to heartfelt tributes from many celebrities, including Michelle Obama, who said, "not only did he have incredible talent, but also an incredible heart."

His family says his spirit will live on through "the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him." It's already evident -- the actor's favorite charity has raised thousands since his death in his honor ... with some help from his movie dad, Adam Sandler.

Wendy Williams My Biopic's About ... Sex, Fat Shaming, Drugs & Date Rape

Published | Updated

The Wendy Williams biopic is going to be crazy as hell ... we've learned the movie will focus on the highs and lows of her rise to fame ... sex, cocaine, date rape and fat shaming.

Lifetime sources tell TMZ ... the biopic spans her life from ages 10 to 55, covering super intimate topics like her coke habit, sex romps, fat shaming from her family and a never-before-told story of date rape at the hands of a chart-topping artist.

Also on the table, according to our sources ... her experiences with racism and sexism in Hollywood, details from her marriage to Kevin Hunter as well as her divorce and her relationship with Mo'Nique.

Wendy and Will Packer will be producing the biopic -- dubbed "Just Wendy"-- while Wendy and Leigh Davenport will write the screenplay.

The talk show host gave us a little info about the movie this week, telling our photog she wants all of the actors to be relatively unknown, so they don't take away from her story.

Our sources say there will be at least 2 different Wendys in the movie ... and she ain't one.

"Just Wendy" will air sometime next year on Lifetime ... and, if it's anything like her real life, it's gonna be EPIC.

Jessica Alba Twitter Hacked ... Racist/Homophobic Tweets Sent

Published

Jessica Alba's Twitter was hacked this weekend, which resulted in some truly horrible tweets being sent out under her name that spewed racist and homophobic sentiments.

The actor and entrepreneur's official Twitter account was taken over by some bottom-feeding Internet troll in the dead of night early Sunday morning, and lo and behold ... they took advantage of the platform with sickening messages. Obviously, it wasn't actually JA.

Around 14 tweets were sent between midnight and around 1 AM PT, which is when it appears Jessica and her team became aware of what was going on and regained control.

Luckily, they were able to delete all of the heinous tweets -- but, unfortunately for them, most of the tweets had been screenshot and shared online like wildfire.

We won't repeat the messages verbatim -- you can see a sample of some of them above -- but if you're curious, they were exactly the type of stuff you'd expect a racist, homophobic, anti-Semitic, misogynistic, conspiracy theory-fueled scumbag to vomit up. It all sucked.

Now, the one consistent mention from the troll was rapper YNW Melly -- who's currently in custody and awaiting trial for a double murder he's alleged to have been involved in.

Meanwhile, Jessica's been mum on the hack ... but she's back in the driver's seat.

Voice of Minnie Mouse Actor Russi Taylor Dead at 75

Published | Updated

Russi Taylor -- the woman who voiced Minnie Mouse for more than three decades -- has died.

Taylor passed away Friday at her Glendale home in Southern California, according to Disney CEO Bob Iger. He says, "Minnie Mouse lost her voice with the passing of Russi Taylor."

Iger went on to say, "We’re so grateful for Russi’s talent as well as the tremendous spirit and great joy she brought to everything she did. It was a privilege to have known her and an honor to have worked with her, and we take comfort in the knowledge that her work will continue to entertain and inspire for generations to come."

He added, "Russi will be sorely missed and our hearts go out to her family and friends, along with our deepest condolences." The circumstances around her death are unclear.

Russi voiced the iconic Disney character consistently since the '80s -- 1987 to be exact, which is when she's first credited for playing Minnie in a TV movie called "DTV 'Doggone' Valentine." She auditioned and landed the coveted role. Hers is the Minnie voice most millennials and kids are familiar with.

She's continued to voice Minnie as recently as 2019, and has a little over 80 Minnie credits to her name over the a variety of Disney projects. Some of the most notable contributions to the Disney canon as Minnie ... "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" "Runaway Brain," "Goofy and the Three Musketeers," "Mickey Mouse Works," "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and lots of others.

Russi's voice talents went well beyond Disney though ... she's voice other iconic characters too, like Pebbles on "The Flinstones," the Mackleberry Twins and Martin Prince on "The Simpsons" and other characters on "The Jetsons," "Scooby Doo," "The Muppets" ... plus plenty of other Disney favorites.

She was once married to longtime Mickey Mouse voice actor Wayne Allwine, who died of diabetes in 2009. They didn't have any children together, but she's got a whole country of kids who love her.

Russi was 75. RIP.

Brad Pitt 3-Point Turn Not on Point ... On 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' Set

Published | Updated

Brad Pitt STRUGGLED valiantly to make a 3-point turn while he filmed a scene in Quentin Tarantino's new movie ... and, gotta say -- he failed miserably!!!

Brad is behind the wheel of a 1960 Karmann Ghia roadster -- an awesome car back in the day.  Brad was trying to 3-point it on a narrow, Bev. Hills road, with little success as he filmed "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood."

The vid was shot last September ... just a few houses down from the home where Sharon Tate was brutally murdered in 1969 by Manson Family members. The streets in the neighborhood are mostly narrow and scary at night.

The flick opened up this weekend ... and there was already a minor hiccup in promoting the project on a major billboard in Los Angeles.

The vehicle situation brings to mind Mike Myers' infamous U-turn scene in 'Austin Powers.' So, finally something Brad CAN'T do.

Jeffrey Epstein, Roman Polanski Star in 'Pedowood' 'Once Upon A Time' Billboard Vandalized Before Removal

Published | Updated

The vandalized billboard has been completely taken down ... that didn't take long.

UPDATE

Quentin Tarantino may have just gotten an idea for a sequel.

Somebody went and messed around with a "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" billboard in Los Angeles Friday -- on the day of the movie's release -- by replacing Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio's face with accused pedophiles Jeffrey Epstein and Roman Polanski.

The vandal retitled the flick -- "Once Upon a Time in Pedowood."

Epstein -- a registered sex offender -- is currently locked up in a Manhattan federal jail for sex trafficking for allegedly exploiting a multitude of underage girls in the early 2000s.

Polanski -- who directed films like "Chinatown" and "The Pianist" -- remains a fugitive from justice in Europe for raping a 13-year-old girl 40 years ago in the U.S.

We're no film critics, but the duo would likely not make for good box office draw.

The actual Tarantino movie stars Leo, Brad and Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate.

Colin Farrell Screw Gym Attire ... Gets Shirtless, Dad-Style Workout In

Published

Colin Farrell doesn't need a fancy gym with top-of-the-line equipment or the fittest exercise clothes from Under Armour ... just a couple of dumbbells and a pair of khaki shorts work just fine.

The "Dumbo" star pumped it up at a private gym in L.A. Thursday ... despite possibly forgetting his gym bag containing his t-shirt, athletic shorts and tennis shoes.

Instead, Colin went shirtless and showed off his rock-hard dad bod along with his new mohawk-style haircut ... and looked pretty serious about getting his reps in.

We're told Farrell's currently on a break from shooting his new film, "Voyagers," in Romania ... and he's using his free time to stay fit.

Along with using the free weights, Colin hopped on the stationary bike for some cardio. Unclear if he used any of the other machines ... but hopefully he wiped them down after he was done ... or not.

Margot Robbie Brought Sharon Tate Back to Life .... Says Sis Debra

Published | Updated

Margot Robbie's portrayal of Sharon Tate in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" is so spot-on it's surreal ... according to someone who would know -- Sharon's sister.

Debra Tate tells TMZ ... after attending the premiere of Quentin Tarantino's 9th film Monday, she can officially say Margot nailed it. She tells us Robbie's portrayal actually made her feel like she was visiting her sister, and her only complaint is the visit was too short -- the movie left her wanting more. Ironic, since the flick is 2 hours and 45 minutes.

In fact ... she says she'd absolutely love for Margot to play Sharon in a biopic about her sister's whole life.

Of course, Debra's rave review comes after months of trepidation over how her late sister would be played on the big screen. We broke the story ... she actually met with Tarantino and voiced her concerns to him, and he assured her he and Margot would do Sharon right.

Debra tells us ... "I wasn't disappointed."

She says the famed director did everything he promised her he would do, and she adds ... "It’s the first time ever that I haven’t been lied to or tricked or not given any consideration whatsoever” about how Sharon is portrayed.

As for the movie as a whole, Debra says it's vintage Quentin, and she was impressed by the immense detail and accurate portrayal of 1969 Los Angeles ... right down to the music on the radio. She says it was like a time machine.

Debra also says it never felt exploitative of the Manson Family victims, and she actually hopes the film will remind people of the grisly crimes they committed and how some members could still get parole ... something she fights against to this day.

You can see the flick for yourself soon ... it comes out everywhere Friday.
