Meghan & Harry Some Hope Ranch Residents Say ... Stay Put, We Don't Want You Here!!!

Published | Updated

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's potential move up the road to an even more exclusive spot in Santa Barbara is cranking up the angst among the locals already ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected to the Homeowners Association (HOA) at Hope Ranch -- a super exclusive SB community  -- tell us there are a number of folks in that community who are fretting over Harry and Meg coming there ... because of all the baggage that comes with them.

We're told nobody in Hope Ranch holds ill will toward the Sussexes personally, but the fact is ... many feel they're going to bring a circus to their quiet, super-private burb ... since they're so famous and controversial, and our sources say that can present very real-world problems.

One of the issues worrying some Hope Ranch residents has to do with traffic as a result of PH and MM's presence. Traffic has always been an issue in Santa Barbara, where residents for decades have tried to protect their community from an influx of cars.

The roads there are narrow and winding, and with would-be paps flocking to snap the Royals ... some residents fear it could create peril, especially for kids who are playing and walking to school.

While there's certainly a lot of richies living at Hope Ranch, none of them are quite as high-profile as Harry and Meghan ... and we're told them coming in is stressing out a good number of the villagers.

As for their current Montecito neighbors, we talked to a few who've had no issues with the Royals being in their backyard.

Three neighbors who live within earshot of Harry and Meghan tell us they haven't noticed much of a change in their 'hood during the Sussexes' stay these past couple years, and all of them are fairly indifferent about the family staying or going ... noting there's a lot of famous faces in the area, so it's whatevs.

Lizzo Invited to James Madison's Crib ... After Playing Crystal Flute

Published | Updated

Lizzo playing James Madison's flute might have conservative pundits up in arms, but the folks repping the 4th president's home couldn't be happier and they're urging her to make a house call ASAP.

A rep for James Madison's Montpelier estate tells TMZ ... Lizzo now has an open invitation to take a private tour of Madison's well-preserved estate after she made history with the crystal instrument formerly owned by the prez.

092822_lizzo_kal 9/27/22
BLAST FROM THE PAST

They're even hoping she'll put on a performance during her visit -- whether it be a planned concert or a simple jam session on the fly!!!

They hope something can be worked out with the Library of Congress to get the crystal flute -- which dates back to 1813 -- brought there for Lizzo's set. The estate notes there's no evidence JM ever played the instrument, so Lizzo could be the first to play Madison's flute at Madison's home. Iconic.

FYI -- the historic Montpelier, located in Virginia, is a 2,650-acre estate ... acting not only as a monument to the former president, but also as a museum of American history and a center for constitutional education.

It's unclear if Lizzo will accept the gig -- she is currently in the middle of a tour -- but, it should be noted close to 100 slaves worked at Montpelier back when Madison lived there.

As we reported, Lizzo made history by playing some notes with the 200-year-old instrument Tuesday ... and we're told Montpelier doesn't think anyone else is more deserving -- calling it "a flute for royalty," with the singer fitting the bill.

The moment rubbed some people the wrong way (what else is new?) ... as they claimed she degraded American history by using such a unique relic as part of her performance.

Clearly, the people who know Madison best are cool with it.

Harry and Meghan Makin' a New Move!!!

Published | Updated

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have apparently outgrown their 10,000 square-foot mansion ... because they're reportedly looking for greener, larger pastures.

The self-exiled royals are on the hunt for a bigger house in the uber-exclusive Hope Ranch area about 10 miles away from Montecito -- AKA Oprah Country -- this according to the Santa Barbara News-Press.

They're currently in a super-fancy home on a huge parcel of land -- by SoCal standards -- but they're doing a lot of work from home and also raising their 2 kids, so they apparently want more space.

They spent around $15 mil for their current home, and the prices in the area the News-Press says they're looking go as high as $22 million.

The Hope Ranch area has an exclusive country club, golf course ... and access to all sorts of fun stuff, including tennis courts, picnic areas and equestrian trails.

It's unclear if they're just looking or if they've sealed the deal.

Stay tuned.

Remy Ma Was Up for 'Real Housewives NYC' ... Screwed by One Big Hurdle

Published | Updated

Remy Ma was in early talks to become the first rapper-turned-'Real Housewife,' but she ran into a major problem -- because as any realtor would tell her, it's all about location, location, location.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... 'RHONY' star Eboni K. Williams brought up Remy's name to casting several months ago for the Bravo reality series ... suggesting Remy would be a great addition to the show.

We're told the casting team had a virtual chat with Remy and the conversation went really well ... but they hit a huge roadblock when they found out the Bronx-born MC now lives in New Jersey full-time.

Our sources say the rapper used to have an apartment in midtown Manhattan, but she doesn't anymore. At the time she was recommended to casting it was still believed she had ties to NYC.

While the Bravo series is historically loose about the cast's "wife" status, they're pretty strict when it comes to geography -- so all convos with Remy about "Real Housewives of New York City" ended.

We're told well-known NYC newscaster, Tamsen Fadal, from the CW affiliate PIX11 was also being considered, but ultimately that didn't work out, either.

Bravo hasn't officially announced the new cast for season 14. As we reported in April, housewives honcho Andy Cohen announced the network is completely rebooting and recasting 'RHONY' after 13 seasons.

Sadly, Remy won't be going all the way up ... on that list!

Tom Girardi & Erika Jayne Court-Ordered Auction Scores Big $$$ With Fancy Items

Published | Updated

Tom Girardi and Erika Jayne's trove of fancy schmancy stuff up for sale at their court-ordered estate auction were a huge hit ... 'cause they just raked in some big bucks!!

The ex-couple's fire sale was launched September 21 and lasted about 5 hours ... designed to pay down Tom's whopping bankruptcy debt. Needless to say, it generated worldwide interest, especially with Erika's 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' fans.

John Moran Auctioneers, which helmed the online/in-house auction, has now released the results. In total, 253 pieces sold for a grand total of $493,641. Not too shabby, but it's hard to fathom it'll make much of a dent in Tom's overall debt, estimated at $101 million last year.

Tom came under scrutiny after allegations surfaced his old law firm mismanaged tons of client assets for their own use. Erika tried to distance herself from the whole mess.

Some of the hottest items hawked from the divorced couple's Pasadena mansion included a J. Seward Johnson Jr. bronze sculpture ($13,750), a black lacquered cabinet with mythological oil paintings ($11,875), a black lacquered Chinoiserie-style console table with gilt highlights ($10,000) and two Michael Taylor “Montecito” outdoor garden armchairs ($7,150).

Tom's cherished sports memorabilia also got some love from one of the more than 8,000 bidders. A historic 1993 Spaulding NBA Finals Ball signed by Michael Jordan sold for $4,688.

Now that's a slam dunk!!!

'Queen of Versailles' Jackie Siegel Hurricane Wrecks Mega-Mansion!!!

Published | Updated

"The Queen of Versailles" star Jackie Siegel knows firsthand the huge toll Hurricane Ian is taking -- parts of her Florida mega-mansion are shredded, and will cost a boatload of money to fix.

Jackie tells TMZ ... the hurricane destroyed her 90,000-square-foot Versailles mansion, which has infamously been under construction in the Orlando area since 2004. She's expecting even more setbacks now, as Jackie says the storm did north of $10 million worth of damage.

She says she hoped the massive estate would be done by May 2023, but now that date is a pipe dream ... and she's got an impossible job on her hands.

Jackie tells us the hurricane did quite a number on the home -- most of the construction progress has been stalled, several floors in the home are flooded, portions of the ceilings caved in and there's widespread roof damage.

If you're wondering about that $10 mil damage estimate, get this ... workers recently finished laying 24-carat gold molding in the living room, and now pieces of it are falling to the floor.

Like most homes in Florida, Jackie says her back patio looks like a lake because it's completely flooded. On Thursday afternoon, she started the process of pumping out all the water inside the palace ... and she believes that alone will cost $100K!

Thankfully, Jackie says their fam is living at another home about a mile away. Either way, she says she isn't giving up on the project, given all the years of blood, sweat and tears that have already gone into the home.

She's faced many setbacks  ... the market crashed in '08, her daughter Victoria died of a drug overdose in 2015, COVID hit and now Ian.

Jackie and her hubby David gained fame after the 2012 documentary "The Queen of Versailles" ... which centers around building this pad, once deemed the largest single-family home in America.

She says given all she's been through, the mansion is going to be a masterpiece! When and if it gets done, that is.

Of course, we're talking about the Byers' house -- where Winona Ryder and her onscreen sons lived for the early part of the series, and which featured some iconic scenes. Katie Siplon of TriCounty Real Estate in Savannah, GA tells TMZ ... it's been snatched up by one of her clients.

We're told the guy who bought it isn't famous, dude's an investor, and as soon as he heard the Byers' home was for sale in Georgia ... he told Siplon to pounce.

And get it she did -- Siplon says they made a cash offer, above the $300k asking price. The house only spent a week on the open market.

As for what this new owner plans to do with the property -- which is relatively modest and just 1,846 square feet on 6 acres of land -- we're told he's actually doing what investors do best ... make money. Siplon tells us it's being turned into a top-of-the-line Airbnb.

The new owner, we're told plans to recreate the Byers' home from the show to a T ... with different parts of the house made to look like "The Upside Down."

They also plan to recreate other places and scenes from the series on the six acres of land.

Siplon says they're trying to get something up and running by Halloween, and they're hopeful super fans come flocking to rent this thing for a good, long while. Let's be honest, y'know they will.

Ernest Hemingway Hurricane Batters Key West House ... But All 59 Cats Survive!!!

Published | Updated

Ernest Hemingway's famous home in Florida is a mess with debris after Hurricane Ian winds whipped it, but there's some really good news ... the 59 cats who live there are safe and sound.

Alexa, a rep for the Hemingway house in Key West, tells TMZ ... the estate is dealing with the hurricane aftermath, with staff cleaning up all the tree and leaf debris caused by the category 4 storm.

Fortunately, the structures from the 1930s home don't appear to be damaged ... and we're told the 59 cats who call the property home are all accounted for, and feline fine.

The Hemingway Home, where Ernest wrote roughly 70 percent of his published works, was well prepared for the hurricane ... we're told the cats were sheltered on the property before the storm hit, with some staff members staying on site to tend to the felines.

The cats are a famous part of the Hemingway house ... Ernest started the cat colony back in the day when a sailor gave him a six-toed cat, and some of the cats who live there now are direct descendants ... and all 59 cats are of the six-toed variety.

The "Without a Trace" star and her hubby, Shawn Sanford, just got hit with a lawsuit from their hired help, who says working for the couple was anything but a dream job.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, the housekeeper claims she worked for Poppy and Shawn in their Pacific Palisades home from 2014 until May 2022, and she says the couple still owes her a bunch of money.

Poppy and Shawn's housekeeper says they kept her so busy cleaning, cooking and taking care of their kids, she often couldn't take her legally required breaks ... claiming the couple owes her more than $48,250 for missed meal and rest periods.

The housekeeper also says Poppy and Shawn owe her more than $36,000 in unpaid wages plus nearly $7k in overtime.

Nia Long Blindsided by Coach Udoka ... He Let Her Move to Boston Amid Affair Investigation

Published | Updated

Nia Long says she's gonna need all the support she can get after getting blindsided by her fiance, Celtics Coach Ime Udoka ... who we've learned kept her in the dark about his affair, even though the team busted him months ago.

Sources connected to the team and the couple tell TMZ ... Nia had moved to Boston with Kez, her 10-year-old son with Ime, just 2 weeks ago, and the couple was house hunting.

The sad twist for Nia is that when she moved, Ime was already fully aware his affair with a married front office staffer was about to blow up. We're told Ime knew way back in July the team was aware of the affair, and was launching an investigation.

Meanwhile, we're told Nia only found out about it in the last few days ... and only because Ime knew it was about to go public.

Nia tells TMZ, through her rep Shannon Barr ... "The outpouring of love and support from family, friends and the community during this difficult time means so much to me. I ask that my privacy be respected as I process the recent events. Above all, I am a mother and will continue to focus on my children."

The social media backlash against Ime, and support for Nia, was swift as soon as the Celtics announced on Wednesday they'd be punishing him.

The rock star drummer listed his picturesque estate this week for $4,599,000. It's the same price he listed the home for back in May 2020. It didn't sell the first time so Tommy took it off the market to lease it for a year and has now relisted it.

Bob Saget Former Home Gets Price Cut ... No Buyers Yet

Published

Bob Saget's former home is still on the market ... and now it can be snagged for a slightly cheaper price.

The home was originally listed for $7.765 million back in June, but the residence has gotten a price cut after spending 3 months on the market -- it's now going for $6.9M.

The late actor and his wife Kelly Rizzo called the place home before he died unexpectedly, earlier this year. She felt the home became a burden to keep after his death ... even though it was filled with happy memories.

As we first reported, the 6-bedroom pad comes with all the bells and whistles, and lots of space for entertaining.

There's a pool, spa and barbecue hosting space ... and there's even a guest house!

The home was first built back in 1964, but got a total makeover in 2003, when Bob scooped it up for $2.895 mil.

As you know, Bob died in January at The Ritz-Carlton in Orlando after suffering a brain bleed. It is believed the comedian hit his head on the hotel headboard before going to sleep.

Bob's nephew, Adam Saget at Compass holds the listing.
