Leonardo DiCaprio's got everything a man could need in quarantine ... a smoking hot girlfriend and an adorable little puppy!!!
The "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" star and his GF, model/actress Camila Morrone, made a rare outing Wednesday, taking their fostered Siberian Husky for a stroll down world-famous Sunset Blvd.
Leo kept a pretty low profile behind some shades, a hat and a surgical mask, and they both looked casual in sweats. Hey, we're all staying comfortable in quarantine.
The streets of Los Angeles are pretty barren these days, with folks being ordered to stay-at-home to slow the spread of COVID-19 ... but you can still head outside for some exercise, and Leo and Camila are taking full advantage with their pup.
Camila, who's been with Leo for over 2 years now, fostered the pooch at the start of quarantine and the pup's growing up to be just as handsome as Leo.
The death of James King, who starred on "My 600-lb Life" was NOT related to the coronavirus -- instead, the big guy's family says his heart gave out.
James got very sick back in early February, and his liver and kidneys were shutting down due to his weight ... one of his family members tells TMZ.
Remember, James actually gained weight following his debut on the reality show. He was 791 pounds starting out on the show, but by the end of 2018 his weight got up to a whopping 840 pounds.
We're told James, who lived in Paducah, KY, was initially transported to a local hospital on Feb. 10. Shortly after that, he had to be transferred to a Nashville hospital that was better equipped to treat a patient his size.
The family member says after the liver and kidney issues, though, James' heart gave out under the stress. He died April 3 in the Nashville hospital.
James also battled other health problems in the past, including cirrhosis of the liver and sepsis.
He leaves behind a large family. James is survived by his wife, Lisa Raisor King, 4 daughters, 2 sons and 19 grandkids.
24 Hour Fitness has some nerve ... it's still charging members even though the coronavirus pandemic is forcing all of its gyms to remain closed.
Here's the deal ... 24 Hour Fitness has been shut down nationwide since March 16, but it's still making workout fiends pay their monthly statements. In fact, the gym says any payments made between March 17 and April 15 will NOT be refunded.
24 Hour Fitness says it's gonna tack on a free month to the end of membership plans for anyone who paid for a month of a closed gym -- but that's kind of a raw deal. People need money now to deal with the pandemic, and they're paying for a service that's unavailable.
The gym says it will stop billing members on April 16, when it plans to reevaluate if it can reopen -- but that doesn't seem likely.
That's UFC star Brian Ortegaexplaining why he chose his trademark GUILLOTINE CHOKE as today's lesson for TMZ's Snapchat show "Fight School" ... and the video is awesome!
T-City joined Paige VanZant to train up our TMZ Sports producer, Lucas -- our human crash test dummy -- in the secret MMA gym in the TMZ office!
Not only did Brian drop all sorts of knowledge on us ... but he also let Lucas try out the move ON HIM!!
Did Lucas actually get Brian Ortega -- the #2 ranked UFC featherweight contender -- to tap?!!?
9:59 AM PT -- Governor Cuomo just held a presser where he announced cops would really start to crack down on public gatherings and people not taking the stay at home order seriously. He increased the fine for violators from $500 to $1000.
UPDATE
FOX
It's hard to comprehend, but even as New York City braces for a rough week -- the apex of coronavirus cases is expected -- residents are still risking it all ... for a walk in the park.
NYC's Central Park still had plenty of foot traffic Sunday despite repeated instructions from Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio to stay at home except for essential activities. As for social distancing? Pretty hard to pull that off with so many people out and about, checking out spring blooming all over the park.
Some people were wearing masks, but experts have repeatedly warned the masks don't make it okay to break social distancing guidelines. Makes ya think ... if the hardest-hit city in COVID-19 pandemic won't follow the rules ... who will?
Of course, these brazen New Yorkers aren't alone. As we reported, folks in L.A. are still filing into farmer's markets and D.C. residents definitely didn't stay 6 feet apart as they packed into the Wharf this weekend to buy fresh seafood.
While it's understandable for people to want to get out for some fresh air ... experts say it's still imperative to stay home as much as possible to stop the spread of coronavirus -- no matter how good the weather is.
For some crazy reason, way too many Los Angelenos are hell-bent on violating the mandatory closures in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, and in some ways, as the news gets worse, the problems with social distancing increase.
The number of folks on the sand has increased all week in the L.A. area, partly because the weather is good and partly because people want out of their apartments and houses.
TMZ.com
Check out the beach in Marina del Rey ... an increasing number of landlubbers are hitting the sand despite mandatory beach closures in L.A. County.
People are using the beach to sun, exercise, surf, paddleboard and walk their dogs -- all of which is now illegal. Problem is ... there have been no cops patrolling many of the areas and it seems people are not being shooed off the beach or given a ticket. Just a mile south, we've heard cops are out in force ticketing anyone who dares to hit the sand in Hermosa Beach ... but only in sections, it would seem. There too ... social distancing is often being poo-pooed.
The photos in the gallery (above) of a trail bordering Hermosa Beach -- which appears to be out of view from the main roads and general public -- show it's FLOODED with dog walkers and hikers, who aren't even close to being six feet apart.
There have been lots of problems in the L.A. area. Just a few days ago, folks jammed into the Santa Monica Farmers Market.
Workout mogul Denise Austin says Richard Simmons is doing just fine in the shadows ... and she's sharing some of their old fitness routines for folks in quarantine.
Denise tells TMZ ... her old buddy Richard is doing just fine these days, even though he's kept himself out of the public eye for 6 years and counting. Denise says she's in constant contact with Richard's managers, and they assure her he's doing well.
Interestingly, though, she -- like most of the world -- has NOT seen him in person.
Richard and Denise go way back ... and she says their fitness routines from the '80s will really do people a lot of good during coronavirus lockdown.
As we first reported ... Richard is making a comeback of sorts during the pandemic, posting old fitness videos to his YouTube channel, the first activity there in 6 years.
TMZ.com
Denise and her daughter, Katie Austin, also have some pretty simple workouts for folks cooped up inside ... and you don't need much other than your limbs and some canned pasta sauce.
Just be careful with that sauce ... as Katie says, you don't want splatter!!!
Retired javelin thrower James Campbell said he'd run back and forth in his tiny garden 7,000 times if he got 10k retweets on Twitter ... and guess what -- he got the retweets!!!
10,000 retweets & I’ll run a marathon in my back garden. It’s about 6 metres long pic.twitter.com/birrnVQ93Y
So, the 32-year-old decided to live stream his whole backyard journey to prove he's a man of his word ... while asking viewers to donate to his fundraising campaign for COVID-19 relief throughout the event.
The #6MetreGardenMarathon took 5 and a half hours to complete ... and after word spread about his accomplishment, Campbell raised more than $33,000 for his cause!!
FYI -- Campbell is a damn good javelin thrower too ... he was once the 8th best junior thrower in the world.
"There’s not much positive news around at the moment," Campbell said on the "TODAY" show. "To take people’s mind off of it for a day and give them a bit of a laugh and a bit of entertainment, that job's done."
He added ... "It’s just been a very long week at home on my own."
"As soon as you gain momentum, it was like, if I’m going to do something like this, then it’s got to be for a good cause."
And, if you have nothing better to do, you can watch the whole marathon below.
Richard Simmons is helping people struggling through these days of self-isolation -- an area of expertise for him -- by making a comeback of sorts ... strictly online.
The beloved, former fitness mogul has been out of the public eye since February 2014, but 3 weeks ago his YouTube channel began posting for the first time in 6 years ... right around the time Americans began getting ordered to stay inside to stop the spread of coronavirus.
The material is nothing new -- it's old 'Signature Moves' clips, workouts and motivational messages -- but sources close to Simmons tell TMZ ... the revival is due to fans clamoring for him to return and lead them through at-home exercise routines again.
The need for this doesn't get much greater than during a pandemic ... so we're told Richard's team obliged with the new video posts.
Our sources say Simmons' team is also working on a new line of licensed products to be released later this year. It's unclear exactly what it will include, but in 2018 he released a calendar and some classic exercise merch ... so maybe something similar.
Remember, Richard hasn't been physically seen since we got a partial glimpse of him returning home from the hospital in April 2017 ... and there's only been Bigfoot-esque sightings of him for years before that.
So the mystery -- and it's a big mystery -- where is Richard? He's not in the videos, which are year's old. Cops did a few welfare checks several years ago and said he was ok, but why isn't he at least introducing the videos?
We're told despite the flurry of Richard's YouTube vids, he's still not decided when or if he'll make a return to the spotlight ... but the recent activity is giving his fans hope.
Until then, you'd have to subscribe to Simmons' fan club newsletterto get a regular dose of his musings ... like the one he sent out just this week encouraging his fans to stay positive ... and check out his recipe for a flourless vegetable quiche.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez just beat the buzzer ... squeezing in one final gym workout before Florida goes on lockdown, and using their pull to make it happen.
The engaged duo slipped out of a gym Wednesday afternoon in Miami after getting what we imagine to be some very exclusive access. Florida had already ordered most gyms closed -- in fact, the door to this gym even said it was closed.
There was an exception for gyms with a capacity of 10 or less -- so, J Lo and A-Rod likely had a private training session -- but even that has to end Thursday.
Governor Ron DeSantis announced a statewide shelter in place order just a few hours after Alex and Jen wrapped up at the gym. It goes into effect Thursday at midnight.
They did play it safe on the way out ... with their security guards wearing masks and wiping down door handles and other surfaces they might touch.
While some J Lo fans might argue her booty is essential business ... we don't think that would fly with the Governor's Office. Then again, he did leave beaches wide open for spring break amid the pandemic.
Joshua Tree is finally joining a long list of parks closing its trails to hikers and bikers ... just days after the area was besieged by quarantine-fleeing Angelenos.
The National Parks Service announced effective immediately the popular park in the Coachella Valley area is closed to ALL visitors until further notice. The park, of course, is completely shutting down in an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
As we first reported ... Joshua Tree National Park was flooded with TONS of out-of-towners a little over a week ago, much to the chagrin of local neighbors. The park initially closed its visitor's center on March 18 and then closed its campgrounds on March 21.
But bored Angelenos couldn't keep their asses home anyway despite a "shelter at home" order by Gov. Gavin Newsom, thus forcing the National Parks Service's hand.
The closure comes a day after coronavirus cases in San Bernardino County hit 125, with four deaths.
One more time for the people in the back ... STAY HOME!!!
If you needed further proof that Tim Tebow is strong as hell ... here's the NY Mets farmhand slinging around 140-pound dumbbells in a quarantine workout Wednesday -- FOR REPS!!!
The former Heisman Trophy winner posted the vid as an inspiration for those looking for some in-home gym ideas during isolation ... but it turned into a MASSIVE flex for the ex-NFL QB.
Check out the vid ... Tebow grabbed some of the biggest dumbbells we've EVER seen -- and pressed them SIX TIMES.
Later, the dude picked up the 115s for a little incline bench ... and he peppered in some heavy-ass back exercises too.
Oh, and get this ... he did it all for FOUR sets!!!
Tebow said with the MLB on suspension ... he's looking to continue to go heavier with his lifts -- and maybe even gain some MORE power and strength during the downtime.
Begs the question ... do they even make dumbbells that go over 140 pounds for him to move onto?!?!
Here's some good news we can all use ... Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her trusted trainer are still pumping iron despite the coronavirus shutting down gyms across much of the country. Go Ruth, go!!!
The Supreme Court Justice's personal trainer, Bryant Johnson, says his client continues to work out twice weekly inside her private gym in the Supreme Court building. As for the 'rona ... Johnson says 87-year-old Ginsburg "ain't having it" in regards to stopping. Johnson hasn't shut down at her request, and he told Law360 she's his only client right now.
They are taking the pandemic seriously, though. Johnson says they're wiping down every machine and piece of equipment they use thoroughly, and are also trying to maintain social distance between themselves as well. Sounds like it works.
Johnson says he doesn't really need to hold the notorious RBG's hand when it comes to the routine, adding that as soon as he lays a certain exercise area out ... she already recognizes it and proceeds without him having to be so close to her to explain much of anything.
Some of the exercises she does ... planks, push-ups and others.
Ruthie's famously known for getting her sweat on. Stephen Colbert documented his attempt to keep up with her recently, and it was pretty hilarious ... she was kinda out of his league and in her own world when it comes to fitness.
On another note ... it sounds like she's still working when it comes to SCOTUS biz too. Law360 notes she calls into conference chats via phone with the other robes these days.
NBA star Rudy Gobert is back in action just days after getting cleared of his coronavirus diagnosis ... hitting an intense boxing workout to prove he's back on his grind.
Of course, Gobert was first diagnosed with COVID-19 back on March 11 ... which eventually led to the NBA suspending its season.
The All-Star center -- along with teammate Donovan Mitchell -- was given the green light to get back to action (while still self-quarantining) Friday ... and now, the 27-year-old is keeping his body right.
Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
Gobert posted a video hitting the mitts with a trainer in an empty gym Tuesday ... captioning the clip with a simple message -- "back at it."
It's great to see things getting back to normal (or as normal as it can be) for Gobert ... who recently explained he lost his sense of taste and smell while dealing with the virus.
No word on when the NBA will get back to playing ... but one thing's for sure -- Gobert will be ready.
Move over, Jameis Winston ... top NFL draft prospect Mekhi Becton is officially the king of car-pushing workouts -- the Louisville O-lineman just shoved a pickup with the brakes on!!!
The 6'7", 368-pound beast -- who's projected to be a top-15 pick next month -- took his quarantine workouts to the streets this week ... and it was impressive as hell.
Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
Check out the video ... Becton moves the Ford Raptor -- which weighs roughly 5,500 POUNDS -- without much effort ... all while the car's brakes were activated!!
"Only a MONSTER can push a RAPTOR," Becton said of the impressive feat.
Of course, Mekhi's workout comes just a few days after Jameis Winston showed off his car-pushing skills ... but we're pretty sure Becton gets the nod here. Sorry, Jameis.
By the way, 20-year-old Mekhi is fighting with a few other left tackle prospects to be the No. 1 overall lineman off the board on April 23.
Begs the question ... could this vid be all NFL GMs need to put him over the top of Tristan Wirfs and Jedrick Wills Jr.??
This is awesome -- UFC star Dominick Reyes teaching us exactly how he landed those CRUSHING uppercuts on Jon Jones ... WELCOME TO FIGHT SCHOOL!!!
Dom hit up the secret gym at the TMZ offices recently -- where he told us straight up, "I definitely won" that fight.
Remember, 30-year-old Reyes took Jones the distance in their Feb. 8 matchup at UFC 247 -- a lot of people think he deserved to win that fight and got screwed on the judge's cards.
So, when Reyes hit up our gym -- he took our resident punching bag, Lucas, to class (with the help of "Fight School" host Paige VanZant!).
Ya gotta watch the whole ep on Snapchat -- Dom shows us how he baited Jones during the fight so he could land those devastating shots.
He also tells us he's dead set on a rematch -- and this time, he won't leave it up to the judges!
