Wedding Proposal Disaster The Ring's Swimmin' with the Fishes!!!

Published | Updated

This is hysterical ... a wedding proposal on a boat goes horribly wrong because the would-be fiance's wingman has a TERRIBLE throwing arm!!!

We don't know their names or exactly where they were, but it doesn't matter. The ring, inside the ring box, goes in the drink and a guy -- presumably the thrower -- jumps in to retrieve it.

We don't know if he got the ring back, but you gotta say ... it's a memorable proposal. We're assuming she said yes, even sans bling.

And, this is funny ... an NFL meme page posted the video with the caption, "When you ask Mitch Trubisky to help you with your proposal ..."

We're guessing when they get married, the wingman won't be the ringman.

Beirut Explosion Video of Bride Taking Wedding Pics Shows Blast

Published | Updated

This is heartbreaking ... a beautiful bride draped in a stunning white gown was in the middle of taking her wedding pics when Beirut was decimated by an atomic-like explosion, and it was all caught on video.

The 27-second video taken Tuesday starts with the camera zooming in on the happy bride, but within seconds the blissful moment turns into utter horror as 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate explodes ... obliterating Lebanon's capital and killing hundreds.

You can see in the video the videographer runs for cover as does the bride and the rest of the party. It doesn't appear any of them were seriously hurt. It's unclear how close this party was when the massive blast occurred, but its impact was still felt as it destroyed surrounding buildings.

As we reported ... Lebanon's prime minister, Hassan Diab, said the 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate had been sitting unsecured for 6 years in a port warehouse. Here's a little context ... the Oklahoma City bombers used 2 tons of ammonium nitrate in 1995 ... killing 168.

The death toll from the Beirut explosion has now reached at least 135 and at least 5,000 injured. Hundreds, if not thousands, are still unaccounted for as Beirut, already teetering on the edge of economic collapse, figures out how to recover from yet another devastation.

Montana Wedding Couple Gets Hitched at 91 ... Sign a Prenup!!!

Published

A love story more than 8 decades in the making reached a high point last week ... when Ivan O'Neil and Gerry Souhrada got married in Montana.

The couple, both 91, said their "I dos" in front of immediate family July 25 in Lakeside ... after more than a decade of dating. The nuptials were also live streamed on Facebook so loved ones all over could watch.

Ivan and Gerry met in first grade and grew to be friends during high school. They both went on to get married to other people, but continued to bump into each other over the years at various local events, and committee meetings to plan their class reunions.

LOVE KNOWS NO AGE

As fate would have it ... they were both mourning the loss of their spouses -- Marian and Bob -- 13 years ago when they ran into each other at a breakfast diner.

We're told Ivan was there with his hiking group -- the "Over the Hill" gang -- and went over to say hello to Gerry. Later in the day, Gerry mentioned to her son ... if someone as nice as Ivan were to ask her out, she'd say yes.

Sure enough, that ol' son-of-a-gun Ivan did exactly that later that evening ... when he asked her to be his date to a banquet because it "wouldn't be any fun to go alone."

They've been together ever since, love to travel and have been all around the world. We're told Ivan actually asked Gerry to marry him early on in their dating years, but she wasn't ready after losing Bob. However, when he recently popped the question again ... she said yes.

All of that's interesting enough, but then there's this -- Ivan and Gerry signed a prenup! We're told Ivan wanted it to be short and simple, but it ended up being 30 pages ... much to his dismay.

The couple won't be going on a honeymoon right now due to the pandemic, but say when they do ... it'll include attending a University of Montana football game.

Congrats!

Demi Lovato Engagement Ring Worth Couple $Mil ... Well Over 10 Carats!!!

Published | Updated

If Demi Lovato's engagement ring looked expensive, that's only because it's worth more than $2 million, and comes with some razzle-dazzle too ... TMZ has learned.

Sources with knowledge tell us ... Demi's ring would cost the average Joe off the street anywhere between $2.5 million and $5 million -- and that's due to the fact that it's a very special cut from a very well-regarded celebrity jeweler in Hollywood ... Peter Marco.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

We're told Demi's diamond is an emerald cut that was hand set in platinum, and flanked on all sides by smaller (only relatively) trapezoid-shaped diamonds designs. All told, our sources say the rock comes in at well over 10 carats ... maybe even as much 20!!! No one's spilling the exact weight.

We're told Demi's fiance, Max Ehrich, spent a lot of time to make sure the design was unique -- namely, he really wanted the elongated stone for Demi. We're told he and Marco went back and forth with different side stones and angles until the ring was just right.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Their engagement came after just a few months of dating ... albeit quarantine-dating. Demi and Max first got together in March, and they've been quarantining/vacationing all over Cali since then.

After Max put a ring on it ... Demi said, "I knew I loved you the moment I met you," adding, "I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!"

It's gotta be bright with all the glare coming off that gem. Well played, Max.

Aaron Sorkin Producing Romantics Now ... Helps Student Pop the Question!!!

Published | Updated

Aaron Sorkin didn't write or direct "The Proposal" ... but he had his hand all over this proposal ... after helping an aspiring screenwriter propose to his GF.

Spoiler alert ... SHE SAID YES!!!

So, here's how it went down ... the famed writer/producer/director was a guest lecturer Thursday at L.A.'s American Film Institute Conservatory -- a prestigious institution once ranked the No. 1 film school in the world.

Before the Harold Lloyd Master Seminar kicked off, John Graney -- a student studying screenwriting at the Institute -- hit up his professor and asked if there would be any way to get Sorkin to help him propose to his GF, Leticia, who's also a student at the Institute and a HUGE Sorkin fan. Side note: who ISN'T a huge Sorkin fan? "A Few Good Men?!" "Moneyball?!?" "The West Wing."

Anywho ... Aaron was game. Sorkin prefaced the proposal by warning Leticia he's dead serious about what's about to go down. You nearly hear more than 150 students in class hold their collective breaths.

Some of John's buddies cheered for him before he pulled out the engagement ring. John and Leticia officially sealed the proposal with a kiss.

See, a few good men still exist.

Dog the Bounty Hunter New Fiancee and I Grieve Together ... She Helps Me 'Man Up'

Published

Dog the Bounty Hunter feels blessed to have a new woman he wants to marry, and while shared grief brought them together ... they're working through the pain together.

ICYMI, the reality TV star recently got engaged to Francie Frane, who he tells us is a Colorado rancher who lost her husband to cancer around the time he lost his wife, Beth Chapman, to cancer as well.

It's no secret Dog's had a hard time getting over Beth's passing, but Thursday on "TMZ Live" he said he and Francie talk about Beth -- helping him grieve in a healthier way, and he consoles Francie too.

Just as importantly, he tells us his new wife-to-be helps him "man up" and do his job the way it needs to be done.

As an added bonus ... Dog's family is fully on board with his new relationship, which wasn't so much the case when he proposed to Moon Angell. He told us his super protective daughters love Francie.

Finally, Dog tells us people ask him what Beth would think about his new gal ... and his answer's pretty hilarious. He suggests she might be busy with other things, and who knows ... maybe Baby Bird's with her too.

David Harbour & Lily Allen Spark Engagement Rumors ... Is That A Ring?!?

Published | Updated

Lily Allen seems like she's officially off the market ... because it looks like she's engaged to David Harbour, and she's got the rock to prove it.

Lily stoked engagement rumors once again Thursday, posting a sultry snap to her social media and bragging about her physique ... but a closer look reveals what appears to be an engagement ring, and yes it's on THAT finger.

One of Lily's 1.2 million eagle-eyed Instagram followers straight-up asked her in the comments if she's indeed wearing an engagement ring, and Lily's answer was telling ... she replied, "First rule of engagement club...."

So, there you have it, straight from the horse's mouth.

The Grammy-nominated singer and "Stranger Things" star are notoriously private about their relationship ... the couple only officially announced they were an item earlier this year after months of dating.

We reached out to reps for both Lily and David to confirm their engagement ... so far, no word back.

But, Lily's picture and comment kinda speak for themselves.

Dog the Bounty Hunter Engaged to New Girlfriend ... 10 Months After Beth's Death

Published | Updated

Dog the Bounty Hunter's ready to get married again ... to a different woman than the one he was ready to wed a few months ago.

Sources close to the reality TV star tell TMZ ... he's engaged to his new girlfriend, Francie Frane, and they are very happy and looking forward to a long life together.

We're told Dog's kids are supportive of the relationship ... which was not the case the last time around.

As you'll recall ... Dog quickly got involved with Moon Angell after the death of his wife, Beth Chapman, which led to some family turmoil when they began living together.

Dog shockingly proposed to Moon in bizarre fashion on "The Dr. Oz Show" in January, but it was chalked up to him just being overly emotional ... and never led to an engagement. Moon later moved out.

Dog and Francie apparently began dating after that, and he proposed to her recently at his Colorado home -- as was first reported by The Sun --and she said yes!

He's reportedly said he wants to have "the biggest wedding there's ever been" with Francie and open it up to all his fans.

We broke the story ... Dog's wife, Beth, died in June after a long battle with cancer.

NJ Wedding Safe and Socially Distant, But ... Dude, Where's My Ring?!?

Published | Updated

File this under no good deed goes unpunished -- a bride and groom held a responsible, safe and socially distant wedding, only to end up losing one very important thing ... the ring!!!

Full disclosure ... the groom here is one of our NYC camera guys, Jeremy. He and his fiancee, Laura, tied the knot Saturday in Milburn, NJ. Small affair ... about 20 guests outside in Taylor Park, with everyone -- except the bride and groom -- standing 6-feet apart with face masks.

But, watch what happened next -- Jeremy read his vows, but wanted to wrap them up with a little pizzazz ... so he crumpled up the paper and tossed it over his head. Awesome! Except for the part where his wedding band also got tossed. By accident, he says.

The wedding party quickly turned into a search party ... with guests and a few passersby crawling around in the grass looking for Jeremy's wedding band.

Spoiler alert! They never found it. The rabbi told Jeremy this kinda marital disaster was a first for him after performing more than 800 weddings. Oy vey!

The show did go on though ... Laura said her vows and the rabbi pronounced them married -- so the deal was sealed in the end. Mind you, this whole affair was their plan B. Originally, they were going to have 250 guests at a wedding hall, indoors (where it's easier to find lost rings).

For the record, Laura's ring is intact and on her hand. Jeremy's got some shopping to do.

Published

"In quarantine and in health..."

NBA star Zach LaVine decided there was no time like quarantine to pop the question to his longtime GF, Hunter Mar ... asking her to marry him in his backyard.... and she said YES!!!

The Chicago Bulls star pulled off the move by pretending to do an impromptu photo shoot with their adorable dog, Grizzly, on Wednesday ... when he whipped out a MASSIVE rock and got on one knee.

Seriously ... look at that thing. Zach definitely had to put that $78 million contract to good use.

Mar -- who has been dating LaVine since they were high school sweethearts -- was clearly shocked ... but obviously, said yes.

"My everything❤️ I love you with all of me," LaVine said on Instagram. "It’s been a long time coming, been together since I was 17 !!! My first love and my FOREVER love."

"U with me forever 🥰🥰"

Worth noting ... it's hilarious to see how unimpressed Grizzly is while mom and dad have a monumental moment. Gotta love dogs.

Derek Fisher & Gloria Govan Assisting COVID-19 Frontline ... Pandemic Forces Wedding Postponement

Published | Updated

Derek Fisher and Gloria Govan were supposed to say "I do" this coming weekend, but now that it's postponed they're focused on helping the nurses, doctors and EMTs battling coronavirus.

The ex-Lakers star and current Sparks head coach was on "TMZ Live" Monday with his bride-to-be -- and, like most Americans, their priorities have shifted. The "Basketball Wives" star's restaurant, Gorditos in Granada Hills, is providing food, and even masks, for frontline workers around SoCal.

Gloria, whose sister is a nurse in NorCal, says the couple will donate items to as many frontline workers as possible. It's no small undertaking because, like most restaurants, Derek and Gloria's place is taking it on the chin.

They told us how they're fighting to stay open, and to help out all their employees ... even though they've had to furlough most of them.

As for their wedding -- originally slated for this weekend but postponed around 3 weeks ago -- Derek says they're just like most engaged couples right now ... just wondering when they'll be able to resume their plans.

As you know, the WNBA recently postponed its season. As a result, D-Fish says they're keeping an eye on how the sports world reschedules ... before they nail down a new wedding date.

Coronavirus Couple Say 'I Do' in Creative Zoom Wedding!!!

Published | Updated

When the COVID-19 pandemic derailed their wedding plans, an L.A. couple didn't sulk or panic ... they Zoomed their way down the aisle.

Ryan and Andrea Valderrama Samaniego were originally scheduled to have an elaborate wedding Sunday, but the shelter-at-home order in place for weeks now put a damper on those plans. But, the Samaniegos -- after 16 months of planning -- decided the lockdown wouldn't stop them from saying, "I do."

The couple got married Sunday in their home and their immediate families and bridal party all watched from Zoom, the remote video service company gaining immense popularity as the majority of America remains on lockdown at least through the end of April.

Andrea said, "Today wasn't the day we've been planning for the last 16 months, but it turned out to be the wedding day I wanted -- no fuss, just love & laughter, and ending the day as Mr. and Mrs. Samaniego."

And, if ya thought that was one helluva optimistic way to look at things ... just wait until you see how she put a positive spin on just about everything else.

Andrea went on to say, "We weren't able to get married at our venue BUT we got married in OUR home and set up the ceremony ourselves. I didn't spend the day getting ready with my girls BUT Ryan and I got ready for our day together. I didn't wear my perfect wedding dress BUT so thankful for online shopping."

As we reported ... there have been tons of wedding cancellations across the country. It's triggered panic from couples looking for refunds and chaos from those scrambling to change venues. That being said, it's incredible how Andrea's not letting the pandemic bring her down.

She said, "We didn't have all the decor that was planned BUT thankful that grocery stores are open so that I could get flowers for the ceremony and my bouquet. We didn't spend the day hugging and dancing with our guests BUT we spent the afternoon playing Mexican Train and just enjoying a simple afternoon as husband and wife." Wow.

The Samaniegos' wedding was catered by a pizza joint and their wedding cake ... courtesy of Nothing Bundt Cake, which TBH, it's the perfect dessert for any occasion. And, talk about embracing the circumstances ... Andrea's dubbing herself #CoronaBride.

CONGRATS!!!

Jameis Winston Gets Married During COVID-19 Lockdown ... Quarantine Wedding!!!

Published | Updated

No guests? No problem!

Jameis Winston tied the knot to his longtime girlfriend, Breion, in a VERY private ceremony at their home ... despite the chaos from the coronavirus pandemic.

The two were supposed to have a massive, lavish ceremony with a TON of guests from all around the country.

But, with the stay-at-home orders in place, the NFL quarterback and his bride-to-be were faced with a choice ... postpone or improvise.

They chose door #2 ... and on March 27, they decided to move forward with the ceremony with the help of an officiant and a well-decorated back yard!

"A week when nothing was going as planned," Breion said.

"Our initial wedding had just been postponed and I was in a funk. But [Jameis] came through and put together a beautiful intimate ceremony in the privacy of our own home."

"And it seemed it was meant to be this way all along... #MrAndMrsWinston."

The two have known each other since high school and have been dating for years. The former Tampa Bay Bucs star popped the question back in 2018, just a few months before they had their first child together.

NOLA Couple Front-Porch Wedding ... 1st Dance On Sidewalk After!!!

Published

A couple in New Orleans just tied the knot with one of the most creative -- and probably sweetest -- ceremonies we've seen in a while ... and it was quarantine friendly!!!

The two lovebirds are Alex Cotant and Darla Edin-Cotant, and they got married Saturday right on their front-porch in a part of town called Mid-City. It was a small ceremony (very small, in fact) because they didn't have very many guests besides their next-door neighbors.

After they said "I do" in front of their doorway -- and in front of a minister pal, who officiated -- Alex and Darla hit the stoop below them and had a little sidewalk reception for the whole block to see, including their first dance ... which was complete with a live music cameo.

The guitarist you see here helping them swoon is local musician Mike Doussan, who tells TMZ ... he got on over there in a heartbeat after a friend told him what was happening. He says he played two songs for them, both originals, and it looks like the bride and groom were digging the tunes -- sneaking in kisses between swaying and boogieing down.

BTW, there's a reason Mike was ready at the drop of a hat ... he tells us he's been doing livestream gigs from his own front-porch lately since every venue around town is closed.

As for the at-home wedding ... it too has become a thing, especially as folks rush to cash in on their marriage licenses -- which will expire within a month or so if they don't pull the trigger. Courthouses are shut down too, so you can't get more anytime soon.

Sure seems like Alex and Darla got their vows in right in the nick of time. Congrats!
