Antonio Brown Albany Empire Kicked Out Of NAL

Published | Updated

Antonio Brown's tenure as owner of the Albany Empire has hit an all-time low -- the ex-NFL star's team was just kicked out of the National Arena League.

The organization announced the decision on Thursday ... saying Brown repeatedly failed to pay his team's monthly assessments, which are used to support the league's operating budget.

In a statement, the NAL explained the Empire made its first assessment payment in April, but it was later challenged. The Super Bowl champ's team then refused to cough up the money in May.

The league says it was in contact with Brown's accountant, who claimed his client did not plan to fulfill his assessment responsibilities, nor would he pay a $1,000 fine he was handed for Conduct Detrimental to the League after recent comments he made.

The NAL held an emergency phone conference with the other team owners to address the fiasco ... and decided to give Brown until noon on Thursday to make up the payments, which he did not.

As a result, the league has severed ties with the Empire.

WELCOME TO THE TEAM

Brown took over the team in March, and it's been nothing short of a disaster -- he faced accusations of failing to pay players and coaches, getting in heated exchanges with members of the organization and broken promises of suiting up and playing in games.

Brown's father, Eddie, was a star for the team back in the day ... and the ex-Pittsburgh Steeler vowed to be hands-on as a member of the organization.

Fans expressed their displeasure with the team ... with game attendance tanking in the process.

The Empire -- the former champs -- are 1-6 this season.

Kroy Biermann Hit With Lawsuit For Unpaid Rolls-Royce Bills ... Amid Ugly Divorce With Kim Zolciak

Published | Updated
UPDATE

8:05 AM PT -- Kroy's attorney, Marlys Bergstrom, tells TMZ, "Mr. Biermann never imagined that he would find himself in this position, having a car repossessed. But this is the fallout when folks find themselves spending way beyond their means. Kroy retired and no longer receives that NFL salary… I don’t think anyone told Kim."

UPDATE

Bergstrom continues, "When it comes to finances, Kim is detached from reality; every month Kroy has to scratch enough money together to pay the mortgage to save the home from going into foreclosure; they are getting collection notices and now, lawsuits on behalf of creditors. Kim continues to spend money on online gambling, wine, and things that are NOT necessities, but luxuries. Well, now they have one less luxury item."

Things just went from bad to worse for Kroy Biermann … not only is he embroiled in an acrimonious divorce with Kim Zolciak, but he’s now being sued for allegedly missing lease payments on a Rolls-Royce.

According to new court docs, obtained by TMZ, the ex-NFL linebacker hasn’t paid a dime in months to BMW Financial Services to lease the company's 2020 Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

The docs say BMW execs demanded Kroy return their $400,100 luxury SUV, but he thumbed his nose at them and kept it.

The suit also includes the purported lease agreement signed by both parties and goes into detail about Kroy's failures to make his monthly payments.

From July 2020 to July 2023 ... BMW claims Kroy was supposed to turn over $5,297.64 each month for 36 months, totaling $190,715.04.

But Kroy often came up short, the docs say ... and, more recently, he just didn't pay at all. BMW also points out Kroy's last payment was made all the way back in September 2022.

As a result, BMW is asking for a "writ of possession" in the suit ... translation: give us back our damn vehicle, Kroy!! They also want the money they've lost out on.

Meanwhile, Kroy has been battling his estranged wife, Kim Zolciak, in divorce court over their finances and custody of their 4 young kids. In legal docs, the 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' alum has accused Kroy of smoking too much weed ... and Kroy has called out Kim for her alleged gambling addiction.

We've reached out to Kroy's attorneys for comment about the lawsuit ... so far, no word back yet.

Kim Zolciak Kroy's a Liar, I'm a Great Mother!!!

Published | Updated

Kim Zolciak is firing back at her estranged husband, Kroy Biermann, defending her abilities as a mother and accusing Kroy of years of emotional and mental abuse.

Kim's attorney, David Beaudry, issued a blistering statement to TMZ Tuesday, telling us Kroy's attempt to paint Kim as a bad mother is not only misleading and harmful to the reality star, but to the couple's young kids, too.

Beaudry continues, "The emotional and mental abuse Kim has suffered from this man for so many years has taken a toll on her and, most heartbreakingly, their children. Kim has always been an extremely devoted mother to her children; they are her entire world and she is always there to love and support them every step of the way."

Finally saying, "She refuses to allow Kroy to paint her as something she is not for his own gain. Kim looks forward to the day we can appear in court and solve these issues once and for all."

As we reported, Kroy filed docs earlier this week stating he was concerned Kim may go on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" and talk about their divorce.

He's asked the court to set up some sort of protection for their 4 kids while the divorce proceedings move forward.

Kroy claims he's tried his best to protect the kids, but says Kim's constantly talking in an "abusive" and "derogatory tone" about the divorce when they're all around.

To say the split has been nasty would be an understatement -- for starters, each filed their own petitions for divorce -- and there's a massive struggle over custody. What's more -- Kim's accused Kroy of having an issue with smoking too much pot ... and he says she's a gambling addict.

Buckle up ... it's far from over.

Shannon Sharpe Tearful Goodbye To Skip Bayless ... On Last Day As 'Undisputed' Host

Published | Updated

Things got emotional for Shannon Sharpe on his final day at 'Undisputed' ... as the former NFL star was saying goodbye to his longtime cohost, Skip Bayless, he began to cry.

The scene just unfolded on live television minutes ago ... with Sharpe needing to wipe away tears with a tissue several times as he thanked Bayless for giving him an opportunity to be on the ultra-popular FS1 show back in 2016.

"I'm here because of you," Sharpe said to Bayless, fighting back tears. "You've allowed me to share the stage with you. You allowed me to share the platform."

"The opportunity that you gave me," the Pro Football Hall of Famer continued, "to become what I became, I'm forever indebted to you. I'll never forget what you did for me. You helped me grow more than you'll ever know."

Bayless himself got a little choked up while listening to Sharpe's farewell ... before he eventually called the former Denver Broncos tight end "a worthy adversary."

Skip then added that he loved Sharpe.

"This is a happy-sad moment for me," Bayless said. "Because I look forward to your next great achievement -- and it is coming."

It was revealed last month that Sharpe was leaving the show -- following almost seven successful years as Bayless' partner. Reasons for the breakup have still not become clear.

There's also been no word on who's expected to replace Sharpe -- or on where the commentator will head next -- though he is still expected to host his massive "Club Shay Shay" podcast in the meantime.

Peyton Hillis Details Terrifying Drowning Rescue ... 'Miracle' No One Died

I'M NOT A HERO

Ex-NFL star Peyton Hillis is opening up on the day he heroically saved his son and niece from a fierce rip current in Florida earlier this year ... saying it's a "miracle" everyone survived.

The former Cleveland Browns running back detailed the Jan. 4 rescue mission in an interview with "Good Morning America" ... where he explained there were no warning flags near their spot at Pensacola Beach prior to the incident.

Hillis said he immediately sprang into action and ran into the water as soon as he found out the kids were in danger -- and he had an impossible decision to make.

"I think the scariest point ... was when I'm swimming to my son and I have to pass by him because my niece is in more danger," Hillis told Michael Strahan. "I knew that I had to pass him up to get to Camille first. Because, you know, if I didn't then there's no way she would've made it."

After getting his niece to safety, Hillis said by the time he was back in the water, his son, Orry, was out of energy and couldn't swim anymore ... and he was struggling to stay afloat himself.

In fact, Hillis said he saw his son's eyes roll in the back of his head ... and he began to pray as he fought his way back to shore.

"Lord, please," Hillis said. "Like, I really don't care about my life. I don't. But if we can get him out of here that’s the only thing I’m going to care about."

Thankfully, Hillis was able to get Orry to safety ... but that's when the former Madden cover athlete started to lose consciousness -- and his kidneys and lungs began to fail.

Hillis was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he spent more than a week in the ICU ... and he said the road to recovery is long.

"I don't think my lungs will ever get back to where they needed to be," Hillis continued. "Physically, it's coming along okay. Mentally things [are] coming along a lot slower. I'm just trying to take it one day at a time."

Hillis wants to use his experience to help promote water safety ... and he hopes families use caution moving forward.

Kroy Biermann Worried Kim Zolciak's Gonna Drag Him On 'Real Housewives: ATL'

Published

Kroy Biermann knows his estranged wife, Kim Zolciak, has zero filter when it comes to talking drama on camera, and he's worried about how it might impact their children.

According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, the former NFL star filed a motion to appoint a guardians ad litem -- meaning someone who would essentially make sure the best interests of the kids are represented during the divorce proceedings.

Kroy claims he's tried his best to keep the estranged couple's minor kids -- Kroy Jr., Kash, and twins Kaia and Kane -- away from all the noise Kim's been making about their split, but adds she's constantly dragging him and talking in an "abusive" and "derogatory tone" about the divorce.

He's also concerned Kim will use her 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' outlet to garner more attention ... noting she's already alleged he smokes too much pot to take care of the kids, something he insists she has no proof to support.

Kroy doesn't hold back -- saying she's the one who's not paying enough attention to their kids lately and has been spending too much time on virtual slot machines ... adding one of the few times she does pay attention is when she lets them gamble on her account.

What's more, he says he's concerned she's taking videos of herself while driving with the kids in the car, and says he's picked up most of the slack since they let go of their nannies and chefs ... although he does say Kim has made a few meals for the kids like chicken fingers and frozen pizza.

TMZ broke the story, Kim recently posted a pic of herself with some 'RHOA' cast members -- leading many to speculate she was back to filming on the show. However, our sources say the photo was taken a few months back -- before the split -- and Kim only filmed a cameo.

All in all, Kroy thinks it's in the best interest to appoint guardians ad litem to rep the minor children during the increasingly nasty split.

Authorities claimed in court documents Winfrey pulled the woman's hand, causing her injuries.

The defensive tackle played in 13 games last season, tallying 22 combined tackles and .5 a sack. He's expected to compete for regular a spot on the Browns' gameday roster this year.

Earl Thomas, Ex-Wife New Police Video Shows ... Couple Armed With Gun, Knife During Heated Dispute

Published | Updated

The heated dispute between former NFL star Earl Thomas and his ex-wife three years ago did, indeed, involve a gun and a knife ... and the situation was terrifying -- new police video shows.

In the footage, obtained this week by TMZ Sports, you can see as cops responded to a disturbance at an Airbnb in Austin, Texas back on April 13, 2020 ... Thomas and his former partner, Nina Thomas, were arguing in a parking lot with weapons in their hand.

In Nina's grasp was a blade -- while in Earl's was a pistol ... and you can hear in the video, cops were desperate to get them to drop both when they arrived on the scene.

"Drop it now!" one officer said on the video while pointing his firearm at the couple. "Drop it!"

The footage shows both Thomases put their weapons down ... and then they both lay face-first on the asphalt.

Cops then slowly approached the two with their guns drawn -- imploring them to stay down.

"This is my wife," the former Baltimore Ravens safety can be heard saying in the clip. "She caught me cheating."

Added Nina, "I caught my husband cheating, officers."

"Whatever you do," one of the cops responded, "don't reach for that knife."

After a few tense moments, Nina was placed in cuffs without issue and taken to a different part of the parking lot for questioning. Earl, who was shirtless, was also put into custody without issue and moved away from Nina in the lot as well.

During ensuing questioning, Nina can be heard in the body camera video saying she and her sister-in-law had gone to the Airbnb earlier in the evening in order to confront Earl and his brother about cheating on them at the residence with other women.

"So," she said during the interview, "my husband has been leaving -- we've been having problems. He's been leaving off and on all weekend. And he said he was hanging with some buddies. And I didn't believe that, because we've had issues in the past. So I hacked his Snapchat and found his location here."

"I was calling, I was texting," she continued. "And I didn't know which room it was, and then from pictures, I recognized the lights inside. And I just so happened to turn the handle and the door was open."

Nina -- who had a cut on her hand -- also told the officers that she had brought Earl's gun to the location in order to scare him. She insisted it was not loaded while adding that she had grabbed the knife from the Airbnb during the dispute.

She said she and Earl had been involved in pushing and shoving during the altercation -- and told the cop, "My brother-in-law did get physical with my sister-in-law."

"I don't know exactly what happened because I was dealing with my own husband."

According to police documents, Nina also told cops at the scene that after she and her sister-in-law found Earl and his brother "naked in bed with other women," she pointed the gun at Earl's head, stating "that she took out the magazine thinking that the gun could not fire." But, cops said in the docs Nina was "unaware that the gun had a round in the chamber."

In the docs, officers said Earl was able to wrestle the gun away from her ... and eventually, the argument spilled out into the parking lot -- where cops intercepted them.

Nina was ultimately arrested and booked for burglary of a residence with intent to commit aggravated assault with a deadly weapon -- family violence. Earl was not arrested.

The former Seattle Seahawks star -- a Super Bowl champion and three-time All-Pro -- downplayed everything in a video in the days following the incident, saying, "Stuff like this happens." The two -- who were married in 2016 -- then continued to work on their relationship for several months ... before Nina filed for divorce from him later in 2020.

As for her criminal case, Nina had several court hearings on the matter in the months following her arrest ... though it was all eventually dismissed in 2021.

NFL Star Justin Simmons Gets Custom Cleats Honoring Late Dad Sweet Gift From Teammate

Published | Updated

Broncos defensive back P.J. Locke is one helluva teammate ... 'cause TMZ Sports has learned he gifted Justin Simmons some custom cleats to help the star honor his late dad.

If you weren't aware, Simmons tragically lost his father in April ... and he said he was absolutely heartbroken over the passing, writing on his social media page that the two were super close.

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

We're told Locke, one of Simmons' best buds on the Broncos, immediately looked for a way to cheer up the 29-year-old after hearing the devastating news ... and hit up local Denver artist Breanna Berry about possibly making some tribute spikes for Simmons.

Turns out, Berry was all-in on the idea, and got to work right away.

The cleat artist spent five hours painstakingly designing the shoes ... putting a portrait of Simmons' dad, Victor, on one of them ... while wrapping them both in Broncos blue and orange colors.

She also made sure to paint on the cleats the phrases "I love you" ... and, "Any man can be a father but it takes some special to be a dad" -- a line that Simmons wrote in his emotional Instagram post to his father in April.

The finished product came out great ... and we're told Simmons was able to get his hands on them earlier this week.

Simmons -- a former third-round pick out of Boston College -- tied for the most interceptions in the league last season with six ... and with the new cleats possibly on his feet this year, it's probably safe to expect an even better performance in 2023.

Baby Gronk's Dad Take A Seat, Haters ... My Kid's Gonna Be Set For Life!!!

Published | Updated

The man who turned his son into the "Baby Gronk" social media sensation wants all his critics to take a seat ... telling TMZ Sports they're just jealous because his kid's going to be set for life -- with or without football.

10-year-old Baby Gronk's rise to fame as a youth athlete has been polarizing to say the least -- some find it entertaining, while others view it as Todd Marinovich 2.0.

In fact, future Hall of Famer J.J. Watt voiced his displeasure over the Baby Gronk craze ... saying he believes "no kid should be training 'like a pro' until at least HS."

We spoke with Jake San Miguel about the negativity he's received as a result of the internet success ... and he believes anyone who has a problem with it is living in the past.

"It's a new era, it's a new generation," San Miguel tells us. "The people that are normally jealous of us is kinda older. They just don't get it. The times have changed -- Elon Musk about to move us to Mars."

"The internet is where it's at. All I did was made him a platform so if he tears an ACL or he doesn't make it in football -- which it's hard to make the NFL -- at least he has all this other money to start up a company or be a part of several companies by the time he's a senior."

Baby Gronk -- who boasts hundreds of thousands of followers -- has been trending all week ... after a TikTok showcased his meetup with massive LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne, in which it hilariously claimed Livvy "rizzed up" the kid (she even hugged him).

We also spoke to Baby Gronk -- real name Madden (yes, because of John) -- and Jake about their big week ... and they both said it's just the beginning.

Waiting for your permission to load TikTok Post.

"The goal is to be a millionaire by senior year, with football or without football," San Miguel said.

Don't be surprised if it happens -- there's always money in the banana stand on the internet.

Terrell Davis Raves Over Sean Payton ... 'Reminds Me Of Mike Shanahan'

WE'RE IN GOOD HANDS

Broncos fans are going to love this ...

Terrell Davis tells TMZ Sports Sean Payton has made such a huge impact since taking over the Denver reins this offseason ... it actually reminds him of the way Mike Shanahan turned around the team in the 1990s.

"It's different already," the former Broncos tailback said. "In terms of just the energy and the vibe around the building."

"This reminds me of Mike Shanahan when he first came to Denver," added Davis, who played for the legendary Denver coach from 1995 through 2001, winning two Super Bowls. "A lot of things that Mike did, it sounds like Sean Payton is the same type of coach."

One of the biggest positive changes Davis has noticed already with the team is the workman-like mentality the players have adopted.

He tells us he's not seeing nearly as much activity on social media from the guys  -- and it appears everyone is far more focused on winning games than they were last year, when they piled up an abysmal 5-12 record.

"They're just working," Davis said. "He's changing the culture there. He's putting his own stamp on things behind the scenes."

Davis, though, tells us he's not necessarily expecting immediate results in Year One ... explaining he's anticipating some growing pains in Payton's first season with a new franchise.

But, he is predicting a huge jump for Russell Wilson nonetheless ... telling us "this is exactly what Russ needs."

Regular season kicks off in just three months ... get hyped, Denver!!

Rams DC Raheem Morris Reunites W/ Child ... He Helped Save From Drowning

Published | Updated

Grab tissues ... Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris just reunited with the little boy he rescued from drowning last month, getting a big hug from the 3-year-old child whose life he saved!

The special moment came two weeks after young Wyatt was rescued by Morris and fellow good samaritan, Dr. Andrew Oleksyn, after he was found blue at the bottom of the Encore hotel swimming pool in Las Vegas.

"Good Morning America" captured the reunion on video ... showing Wyatt, and his mother Kelseigh Stanley, giving Morris a huge hug.

"It's truly a miracle, truly," Stanley said.

Dr. Oleksyn -- an ER physician -- also met with Wyatt, visiting him at the hospital, and describing it as a very emotional moment.

Both Morris and Dr. Oleksyn spoke about what happened that day ... with Raheem saying he heard a parent scream and then saw Wyatt unconscious poolside.

The Rams coach continued, saying he could feel the "panic of it all," jumping into action, asking the on-duty lifeguard for the location of the automatic external defibrillator (AED), something Morris learned at a recent training with the Rams (in light of the Damar Hamlin incident).

Dr. Oleksyn performed CPR while Morris retrieved the AED ... and shortly after, Wyatt started to come back, spitting water from his lungs, and developing a pulse -- thanks to the effort of Coach Morris and Dr. Oleksyn.

"Truly, again, a miracle," Wyatt's mother said. "God placed them all directly where they needed to be."
