Anna Nicole Smith Ex-BF Mark Hatten Dead ... Shot and Killed in SC

An ex-boyfriend of Anna Nicole Smith -- who went to prison for threatening her and assaulting her neighbor -- has been killed in a shooting ... TMZ has learned.

Mark Hatten died Sunday after an incident with another man in Greeleyville, South Carolina turned deadly. It's currently unclear what led up to the shooting.

Hatten, reportedly known as 'Hollywood' in Greeleyville, did have a Hollywood past with Anna Nicole ... but it didn't end well.

According to the famous late Playmate's testimony in 2002, she began dating Hatten in early 2000 and the 2 had a sexual relationship until June 2000, when he allegedly confronted her with a knife in the bedroom of her home.

She broke up with him, but Smith claimed he continued to stalk and threaten her for nearly 2 years afterward. In March 2002, he showed up at her home and assaulted her neighbor when the man asked Hatten to leave.

He stood trial and was found guilty of making criminal threats against Smith and attacking her neighbor. He was sentenced to nearly 7 years in prison.

Ahmaud Arbery Skip Grand Jury, Arrest Georgia Shooter NOW!!! Family Atty Implores D.A.

ARREST THESE MEN
TMZ.com

The Georgia man who shot and killed Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old unarmed black man, is still walking free -- but the Arbery family attorney is trying to change that immediately.

The video of Ahmaud's killing -- released Tuesday -- is sparking national outrage and local protests near Brunswick, GA ... where he was gunned down in February. His family has hired Lee Merritt to get justice for Ahmaud by cutting through what he calls corruption in the Glynn County D.A.'s office.

Merritt joined us Wednesday on "TMZ Live" to discuss the gut-wrenching video. Lee says the first version of the story cops told Ahmaud's family was that he was shot by a homeowner while committing a burglary.

FEBRUARY 2020
IN COLD BLOOD

That's obvious BS, as Ahmaud was jogging down a road when Greg and Travis McMichael, both armed, cut him off with their pickup truck ... leading to the physical altercation and the fatal shots.

As for why they were tracking Ahmaud -- Merritt tells us the men are hiding behind a pretty wild GA statute about citizen's arrests.

While Ahmaud's family says he was just out for a jog, the McMichaels claim he was casing an unoccupied home and matched the description of a potential suspect in neighborhood break-ins.

Merritt says it's time for the McMichaels to be taken into custody -- but the D.A. wants to get a grand jury to decide if they should be arrested and charged.

Merritt smells corruption because, Greg, the elder McMichael, used to work in the D.A.'s office -- but he says the video is all the evidence needed for the D.A. to issue an immediate arrest warrant.

Georgia 'Lynching' Citizen Fatally Shoots Unarmed Black Man ... Video Emerges, Grand Jury to Convene

FEBRUARY 2020
IN COLD BLOOD

The fatal shooting of Ahmaud Arbery -- a 25-year-old black man out for a jog when he was chased and killed -- was caught on video, prompting a call for a grand jury to review the case.

Arbery's death is being referred to as a modern-day lynching, as he was unarmed when he was gunned down in Brunswick, GA on February 23 by a white citizen named Travis McMichael ... who has not been arrested or charged. He also happens to be the son of a former district attorney investigator.

As you can see in the video, Arbery was jogging when he was stopped by McMichael and his father in a white pickup truck. McMichael was armed with a shotgun. Arbery appears to attempt to run around the truck before he and McMichael start grappling.

After at least 2 shots, the men continued struggling over the gun ... until Arbery stumbles away, shot in the mid-section, and then collapses to the ground. He was later pronounced dead.

McMichael has not been charged in the shooting ... reportedly because he and his father, who was in the back of the truck, claim they were trying to make a citizen's arrest. They claim Ahmaud fit the description of a suspect in a string of recent break-ins in the area.

After the emergence of the video, D.A. Pro Tempore Tom Durden has decided the case "should be presented to the grand jury of Glynn County for consideration of criminal charges against those involved in the death of Mr. Arbery.”

Ahmaud's family says the use of deadly force was unnecessary.

'Star Wars' Day Stormtrooper Taken Down By Cops Over Plastic Toy Blaster

Canadian Cops strike back
@DeibyCorleoni
UPDATE

3:00 PM PT -- The Lethbridge Police Service tells TMZ ... a service investigation into the actions of the officers who responded to the firearm call Monday has been launched.

UPDATE

We're told the female in the Stormtrooper costume dropped her "weapon" as soon as cops arrived, but "did not initially comply with further police directions to get down on the ground."

UPDATE

Cops say she sustained a minor injury during the incident but didn't need medical attention. The firearm was confirmed to be fake and she wasn't charged.

UPDATE

Nonetheless, Chief Scott Woods has initiated an investigation after reviewing additional information -- including social media video -- to determine whether the officers acted appropriately.

May the 4th be with you quickly turned into may the Lethbridge, Alberta police force have mercy on you ... when cops took down a Stormtrooper for including a toy blaster in her cosplay.

The crazy scene went down Monday in the Canadian province where a bar employee -- at the Coco Vanilla Galactic Cantina, no less -- was roughed up by cops. Someone reported seeing her with a firearm, and things quickly went south when officers surrounded her.

The video starts out calmly enough, with a man recording the bar employee -- who was out in costume for a company parking lot shindig in honor of 'Star Wars' day -- and joking around with her and asking her to do some Stormtrooper moves. She's half into it ... whatevs.

The crazy part happened moments later, when Lethbridge PD swarmed the scene with guns drawn ... shouting at the Stormtrooper and demanding she drop her weapon. She did, almost immediately.

What happened next is up for debate. Cops say the woman didn't follow their orders by getting down to the ground right away, but she and her boss argue she couldn't because of the damn suit (hard to bend in that thing) -- which she apparently tried relaying to the police on the spot. Eventually, she was able to get down.

The woman claims cops roughed her up as they put cuffs on her, allegedly shoving her face into the ground and making her nose bleed. Once all the commotion settled down, the cops eventually realized there was no threat -- and cut the gal loose without charging her.

She and her co-workers are pissed -- but cops say they were just responding to reports of someone with a firearm and were only doing their jobs.

Darren McFadden Insane Arrest Video ... Cops Smashed Windows In Intense Standoff

ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL
TMZSports.com

Two cops smashed Darren McFadden's car windows and later pointed both a gun AND taser at the ex-NFL RB during his 2019 arrest ... and the intense standoff was all captured on new police video obtained by TMZ Sports.

The former Dallas Cowboys star was found asleep at the wheel of a Whataburger drive-thru in McKinney, Texas on January 21, 2019 ... and you can see in the video, cops did everything they could to wake him up.

One of the officers beats on the windows of McFadden's 2019 GMC Yukon repeatedly with his fist and flashlight ... before he eventually decided to rock the car back and forth.

But, the motion caused McFadden's foot to slip off the brake and onto the gas pedal ... and that's when things took a scary turn.

McFadden's ride nosedived into the side of the fast-food restaurant ... and in an effort to get Darren to wake up and stop the car, officers smashed the hell out of his windows.

Eventually, the officers were able to bust through and get the car to stop ... but that's when 32-year-old McFadden became combative -- and fought the cops.

In the video, you can see Darren got in a big-time struggle with THREE different officers ... before they eventually pointed both a gun and a taser at him to stop him from advancing.

Thankfully, before the taser or gun was fired ... McFadden gave up and was taken to the ground and handcuffed.

The former NFL player eventually got jail time over the incident after prosecutors hit him with charges of resisting arrest and DWI with a BAC of greater than or equal to .15.

As we previously reported, McFadden agreed to a deal in February 2020 in which he pleaded guilty to drunk driving in exchange for having the resisting arrest charge dismissed.

McFadden was ordered to spend 4 days in jail, although he did receive credit for 1 day of time served. He was also forced to pay fines and fees ... and his driver's license was suspended for 90 days.

Darren -- the former No. 4 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft -- rushed for 5,421 yards in his 10-year NFL career, scoring 28 total rushing touchdowns.

UPDATE
ONE STEP AT A TIME

Bashaud Breeland's arrest Tuesday nearly turned tragic ... terrifying video of the scene obtained by TMZ Sports shows the NFL player's face was within inches of a cop's drawn gun during the stop.

Breeland was detained at around 11 AM at a South Carolina gas station after a York County Sheriff's Office deputy says he saw the K.C. Chiefs player and 2 other men smoking weed.

The officer claims when he stopped Breeland for questioning ... the 28-year-old became combative -- and in new footage we obtained from the incident, you can see how the confrontation escalated in a hurry.

At one point in the vid, you can see the cop pulled a taser on the 5'11", 195-pound defensive back ... ordering him to stop resisting.

"Put your hands behind your back or you will get tased," the officer said. "Turn around and face away from me! You'll get tased!"

Breeland, though, ignored the officers orders ... and when he wriggled away from the cop and got into his car -- things took a frightening turn.

The officer pulled his gun and put it inches from Breeland's face ... and screamed at the NFL player, "Let me see your hands! ... I'm not playing!"

Eventually, Breeland got out of the car, got on the ground and ultimately relented to the officer placing him in cuffs.

Breeland was taken to jail without further incident, police records show ... and he was booked on 4 charges, including resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.

For his part, Breeland said in a now-deleted post on his social media, "I really was at a gas pump got approach by two guys police pulled up they throw something my car as police pulled up which the cop saw."

"I was the one detained wit charges that really shouldn’t be charged."

Breeland's attorneys added in a statement Wednesday, "At the time of this encounter with law enforcement, Mr. Breeland was leaving a gas station store after making a lawful purchase."

"Moments after returning to his vehicle, a 2020 Range Rover with valid temporary paper tags, law enforcement officers approached Mr. Breeland and drew their weapons. We look forward to investigating why this level of force was necessary."

They added, "Bashaud Breeland is innocent unless proven guilty. We look forward to the truth coming forward."

Bay Area Walmart Man Shot & Killed for Swinging Bat ... Cops Say Tasers Used First

4/19/20
THE FATAL STANDOFF

A man wielding a baseball bat in a Bay Area Walmart was gunned down by police officers -- who claim they fired tasers first before a lethal shot, but video shows the guy was down.

The scene played out Saturday at a Walmart in San Leandro, just outside of Oakland and Alameda -- where cops were summoned after some guy started swinging a bat at people near the front entrance. When they arrived, they encountered him -- and it was all on film.

Check out the clip, which shows the moments leading up to the guy getting shot. He is, in fact, approaching the two officers with the metal bat -- and eventually, you hear a shot of some sort go off from the weapons they have drawn, which cops say were tasers at first.

The dude drops the bat and stumbles back, away from the officers. They follow him and you hear another shot, which makes the guy drop to the floor face first. You hear people freaking out after the second shot goes off, with someone screaming "No more!"

Eventually, as the cops approach the man's limp body, a third shot goes off, which causes people to scream even more. All the shots sound similar -- hard to tell which was the gunshot.

As for how the San Leandro Police Department is explaining the sequence of events, they say both officers deployed their tasers unsuccessfully, and finally ... one of them used their gun. If that's true, that would mean the first two shots were tasers here, and one of the cops shot the dude with a gun when he was on the ground ... and no longer an active threat.

It's unclear if the SLPD has seen the video, but fact is ... it doesn't look good.

Our sources say deputies discovered 14 firearms inside Simmons' residence, including assault rifles, a sawed-off shotgun and thousands of rounds of ammo.

We're told Simmons is a convicted felon, meaning he's prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms or ammo.
