Sturgis Motorcycle Rally 250k Bikers Rolling into Town!!! Masks & Distancing Rare

Published | Updated

COVID-19 isn't stopping the legendary Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, but with hundreds of thousands arriving ... it's gonna be near impossible for the bikers to avoid spreading the virus.

The small town of Sturgis, South Dakota is packed to the gills as Friday kicks off the 80th edition of the famous biker convention. They're expecting a quarter million people to ride through over the next 9 days, but these opening day images show face coverings are scarce.

Spotting a face mask in the crowds is like flipping through a "Where's Waldo." If you thought those Georgia high school hallways were alarming, Sturgis could be way worse.

Once parked, social distancing is gonna be tough for the bikers. People are jammed up like sardines in bars, and the streets are super crowded too. Yes, the fresh air helps, but there's a limit when establishments get filled.

At least the liquor stores are hawking "Full Throttle Hand Sanitizer."

The event is easily the largest gathering in America since the pandemic began, which raises another issue. Once the Sturgis rally ends ... people will ride off to another destination, and possibly trigger a spike.

Godspeed.

GA School Student No Longer Suspended!!! ... For Posting Hallway Pic Showing COVID Risk

Published | Updated
UPDATE

9:08 AM PT -- 8/7 -- Watters is free!!! The teen just announced that this morning "my school called and they have deleted my suspension." It appears the school came to its damn senses amid outrage over the school's so-called violation of school policy about social media.

UPDATE

This back-to-school pic didn't just alarm parents worried about their kids and coronavirus ... it also got at least 2 teenagers suspended.

Georgia's North Paulding High School hit the student, 15-year-old Hannah Watters, with a 5-day suspension for posting that photo -- a shot she took out of concern for her safety ... as well as her classmates'.

Hannah had captioned the pic, "Day two at North Paulding High School. It is just as bad. We were stopped because it was jammed." She added that she was pushed multiple times, and defiantly posted, "This is not ok. Not to mention the 10% mask rate."

The school's stance is that Hannah, and another student who posted the crowded hallway image, violated school policy about social media and posting images of minors without consent.

That's the letter of the school's law, obviously, but one could easily argue ... the safety of students and faculty should be getting some consideration here. Hannah clearly posted the photo because she was alarmed at the inability to social distance.

Hannah told BuzzFeed News she feels her suspension is excessive.

The photo went viral Tuesday as it highlighted the fears of parents, and for that matter ... teachers, as students return to schools for the first time since the pandemic began.

Jerry O'Connell Homeschooling's Killing Me ... I'm No Stephen Hawking!!!

Jerry O'Connell
NEW SCHOOL YEAR, NEW CHALLENGES

Jerry O'Connell is dreading the new school year like most parents whose kids will continue virtual learning, and he's not afraid to admit it ... helping his girls with math is a mind-boggling challenge.

Jerry joined us on "TMZ Live" Friday from his home in Calabasas, where he's quarantining with his wife, Rebecca Romijn, and their twin girls, Charlie and Dolly ... and getting ready for the 6th grade.

In just a couple weeks his daughters will be doing distance learning, due to the pandemic, which means he'll have to pitch in some when it comes to teaching at home -- and based on this convo ... Charlie and Dolly should be very afraid.

Jerry says things are only getting harder since he posted a funny video at the end of last school year. In particular, he's hung up on long division problems ... which makes him feel like Stephen Hawking wrote their textbooks.

It's pretty funny too ... Jerry knows just what to do when the tough questions inevitably come his way. Stay on your toes, Rebecca!

There is one thing he's gotten better at this summer -- just watch the video. Unfortunately for his daughters, it doesn't involve math.

The good news here is Dad's sense of humor is very much intact.

Bills Star Tre'Davious White Won't Opt Out Of NFL Season After Serious Consideration

Published
UPDATE

1:11 PM PT -- White ultimately decided to NOT sit out this season ... ESPN's Chris Mortenson reported Thursday.

Buffalo Bills superstar Tre'Davious White is considering NOT playing in 2020 over COVID-19 concerns ... and he's going scorched earth on ANYONE who has a problem with that.

"Crazy that me choosing my family’s wellbeing over a game comes with so called fans attacking and questioning me and saying I’m selfish," the All-Pro corner said Thursday.

"No you guys are selfish for thinking that football is bigger than life."

The 25-year-old added, "Oh by the way my girl’s grandfather passed from COVID. U understand now?"

Tre would be BY FAR the biggest name to not participate in the '20 season over coronavirus fears ... and from the sounds of things, he's leaning toward doing exactly that.

The NFL's opt-out deadline is Thursday ... so we'll know Tre's decision in just a matter of hours -- but the defensive back, who has kids, told reporters Wednesday he was really wrestling with the move.

"I'm still kind of undecided," White said. "Honestly."

The decision is a big one ... White is the Bills' best player is only a season or two away from cashing in on a HUGE new contract in Buffalo.

The NFL says players have until 4 PM ET to make the opt out call. Stay tuned.

Micah Parsons & Greg Rousseau Opt Out Of NCAA Season ... Projected Top NFL Draft Picks

Published
UPDATE

12:02 PM PT -- Another projected top NFL draft pick has elected to forego the 2020 season ... Univ. of Miami superstar Greg Rousseau has just opted out, his head coach said Thursday.

UPDATE

Rousseau is arguably the best college pass rusher in the country and is considered a near lock to go in the top 10 of next year's NFL draft.

UPDATE

Rousseau piled up a staggering 15.5 sacks last season for Hurricanes ... and was expected to potentially be a Heisman Trophy candidate this year.

The dominoes continue to fall in college football -- this time, Penn State superstar linebacker Micah Parsons has decided to skip the 2020 season to prepare for the NFL Draft.

It's major news considering Parsons is projected to be a Top 5 pick in the 2021 draft class ... after recording 192 tackles, 6.5 sacks and six forced fumbles in two seasons with the Nittany Lions.

"As I considered all my options for 2020 season, I decided I needed to make a choice, not for myself, but my son and those dearest to me," Parsons said in his announcement Thursday.

The 21-year-old Harrisburg, PA native played a big role in the 2019 Cotton Bowl Classic -- dominating with 14 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and winning the Defensive MVP.

He also earned All-American honors, 2019 Big Ten's Linebacker of the Year award, and was a Butkus Award finalist.

"The potential risk to the health and well-being of my son far outweighed my urge to play football this season," Parson said. "Therefore, I decided to opt out the 2020 season and prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft."

Parsons joins a growing list of NCAA stars opting out -- Virginia Tech star cornerback Caleb Farley and Minnesota stud wide receiver Rashod Bateman also dropped out due to COVID-19 concerns.

As for Heisman hopeful Justin Fields, he's committed to suiting up for the Ohio State Buckeyes ... and has no plans on sitting out.

Gilbert Arenas NBA Players Griping About Bubble ... No Booty Taking a Toll!!!

Published

"You're talking about grown men, 85% of them single and you have them locked up at Disney World?!"

That's ex-NBA star Gilbert Arenas raising some issues going on inside the NBA bubble ... insinuating players are reaching their breaking point after going weeks without sex.

Look, it's a fair point -- the players entered the bubble at the beginning of July ... and so far, officials have restricted families and girlfriends from joining them.

When we saw Arenas out in Calabasas on Wednesday, he told us he's been speaking with some of the guys on the inside -- and gave us the update on how they're holding up.

"[They're] primadonnas right now," Arenas says ... explaining they're used to living a fun, party lifestyle -- but that all changed when they stepped in the bubble.

Now, they're restricted to their confined space at Disney World -- and it's starting to take a toll.

Arenas is also calling out Lou Williams -- and saying his excuse about hitting up the famous Magic City strip club for chicken wings during his time out of the bubble is complete BS.

"I would never eat at a strip club. I don't go to the strip club to eat wings," Gilbert says.

"I can go to Wing Stop for some wings. I go to the strip club to see strippers."

Bottom line -- Arenas suggests the longer the guys are kept celibate, the tougher it will be to keep the bubble intact.
